The waiter checked on us once and asked if the food was too our liking. This was when I literally found a bug in my food and sent it back. I replied, "Uh... sorta?" But she did nothing. Then I needed to ask if they still gave bread. She forgot to give it to us. She came back with a slice and one that was cut in half. We also asked if they had smaller spoons for our toddler to use, but the plastic ones were not offered (those are much smaller than the metal ones). Finally, they gave us the wrong bill. I also tried their take-home pizza for just $11 (about half the regular price) and was genuinely impressed. It was delicious and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended. Girls night... There are probably many reasons I rarely dine at the Ala Moana location which is located on the 4th floor amongst many other restaurants is that it's very popular and always crowded but as we planned this holiday girls night out this was the venue and gosh what a wonderful place it certainly was. I do have a friend working at the Kahala location and have mentioned the various dishes they have and knew that I wanted their salmon as the cedar plank is my favorite is nice to know that they also have that topped on the piccata. Thank you Terry for the suggestion though I did nudge her a bit and along with Jackie it was a festive night as we started with Spinach Artichoke Dip, Lettuce Wraps and Italian Chopped Salad to share and to drink it had to be a cocktail and it was the Sparkling Berry-Lemon which came in a huge wine glass that made me feel like sipping pinkies up though we did enjoy our dinner it really felt like the restaurant was struggling the night sadly but happy we got our table without a wait and didn't let the obvious get to us as we cheers to the holidays to health and happiness. Rarely am I compelled to write a review about a chain restaurant. However, this review is because of Dave. Who I think was far more than our server. He looked like perhaps the manager or maybe the bartender. It was the lunch rush hour and he was flew around the place making sure we were taken care of in a kind yet expeditious way. Starting at the beginning: My boyfriend didn't like the table we sat at, it was a 6 seater for 2 people. Hm. Then we saw an older couple arrive after us get a nice smaller booth. They were also served water right away and we waited 5 min for water... Ok...oh and one of the seats at our table was covered in crumbs. The mushroom sausage and pepperoni pizza arrived (requested no mushrooms) and it was also kind of cold but at least it was still soft and easy to eat. The mini butter cake flight arrived with 90% melted ice cream as you can see in the photo, and aside from that it was just like regular cake. I think the original butter cake would have been better and request the ice cream on a separate dish so it doesn't melt??? Best part was the view of the sunset which was probably the most amazing sunset of the whole year and I was most unfortunately inside of CPK..... Came here with my cousin for lunch today and we had Henry as our server who I thought did a great job because he kept checking on us throughout the time we were there while also giving us time to enjoy our food and just talk to each other. I ordered the mac & cheese and my cousin ordered the BBQ chicken pizza + fettucine pasta with shrimp and we both actually really liked what we ordered and were both happy that we decided to come here for lunch. We needed to find a place to feed the kiddies lunch. Bud loves pizza so this suggestion worked for them. The plan was after lunch I take Sweetie back to school shopping and hubs takes Bud to Dave n Busters cuz they decided not to see Freakier Friday. We went on a Saturday and checked in at 4:26pm, and our table was ready by 4:34pm, which was a nice, quick wait. Once seated, everything was great--the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. It was a bit on the loud side during our visit since Mai Tai Bar had live entertainment and the restaurant itself was pretty full. I'm a little sensitive to noise, so it ended up giving me a bit of a headache. If you're also sensitive to sound, I'd recommend going earlier in the day, maybe mid-morning, for a quieter experience. We like the Jambalaya, Chicken Piccata, and the Kung Pao Spaghetti. The service every time we dine here is excellent! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The service while we dine at this location is top notch. The wait time is pretty reasonable. During peak hour times you could wait between 30-45 minutes for a table. That's totally understandable since they're always busy at this location. The ambiance is clean and well maintained. I ordered 2 pizzas, 1 pasta, salad, & 2 loaves of bread to be delivered to a family member who is battling cancer. I ordered through DoorDash. The recipient waited two hours+ before the food was delivered. Original estimate for delivery was 56 minutes. But it quickly changed to 2+ hours. I called the restaurant and was transferred 2 times. I eventually was transferred to the takeout line and put on hold for 15 minutes. No one answered, so I hung up. Management needs to address operational issues at this location. I would say that it is much less substantial than before. Take a peep at the image and you can see how lacking the filling was, it was almost half hallow. 8/10 (would've been 9/10 if they didn't skimp on the filling). - BBQ Brisket Pizza: My friend wanted to try this and it was actually pretty good. 8/10 - Margherita Pizza: I never cared for margherita pizzas, I always tell myself but maybe I'll like it so I always end up trying it but ending up with the same realization over and over again. 6.5/10 - Garlic Cream Fettuccine (Chicken): It was decent, it wasn't as saucy as I would've liked and I thought it was weird I had to request for some parm to sprinkle on top. 8/10 - Chicken Tequila Fettuccine: It was ok, I only got a small bite of it and I feel like it had the same issue as the garlic cream, it wasn't very saucy or flavorful as I personally would've liked. I would note that during our meal... a roach crawled across border I was sitting next to... but thankfully it was towards the end?... The service was okay, it was a bit hard to get a hold of our waitress at times but I understand that they are busy. She forgot my friend's drink and realized much later (around half way through our meal) so she comped her drink. They had good deals with their drinks which was nice! For the main dish, I got a BBQ chicken pizza and added pineapple. It was pretty good, but wasn't amazing to me. There wasn't enough sauce and it wasn't really worth the price ($23). I was disappointed in our server. He didn't really check up on us often, and when he did he was really short and quick to leave. He also rushed us for our order, even though we weren't all the way sure or ready to order! When we got our bill, he brought us one and didn't ask if we wanted to split it. We wanted to split it 3 ways because someone had a gift card. When we tried to explain, he said it was hard for him to do. We asked if he could still please try and he took the bill and walked back to a waiter station, slammed the bill down and shook his head. I feel like it was a reasonable request! The pizzas here were decent, nothing bad, but not especially memorable or impressive compared to what you might expect from a chain. That said, the cheesecake was a pleasant surprise. Second time around when hubby's soup came the server gave us 2 spoons. One of the spoon was dirty and same thing the spoon was dirty with leftover food from previous person that used it and on the handle had some food that was dried and bumpy. Year after year, my husband and I look forward to acknowledging the men and women who served our country with a complimentary entree and drink at CPK. It's one of the best deals on the island and the staff work tirelessly from opening to well beyond closing hours to make it happen. We visited the Ala Moana location this year and the place was booming. At least an hour wait around the clock. Despite a packed house and never ending orders, the team did not skip a beat. Big shout out to our server Manni for getting our order in promptly so our little ones could devour their mac & cheese and pizza quickly. He also recommended their newest dessert: a flight of mini butter cakes with three savory toppings- apple cherry, chocolate fudge, and maple bacon- and vanilla ice cream. That dessert was EPIC! The barrata pizza didn't come with a side of balsamic vinagar like at kahala mall, but maybe it's like I said it was busy. But it's ok. We bought the side breads and we thought it would be have loaf sized or smaller, but they were actual long loaf sized!! Ciabatta bread style we think.
