Concerned with length of time getting fixed. Instead of checking to see if parts were available, told us after car was 50 miles away and would have to pick it up. Now car has been there for 2 months and still getting the run around on parts. read more

Caliber Collision - A company that believes in doing the right thing! - Body Shops Near Me - San Marcos, California

BEWARE !! Once my insurance company got the claim set up, I called Caliber twice to coordinate with them to do the repairs on my car. (The left hand should know what the right hand is doing) Once confirmed they were able to receive the car at their San Marcos location, I set up the tow and had the car dropped off. When the car was delivered, they called to notify me they received the car, then I gave them authorization to perform the repairs. Great so far... In just a few minutes after them receiving the car, I got another call from them saying that "It looks like your car took a significant hit, and that they will have to tow it to their Santee Store". After explaining to them there was no "significant hit" and it was basically just the plastic parts and lights in the front end, I asked what the difference was between their two shops, and he said, well, actually it's because they didn't have the personnel in San Marcos to work on the car in a timely manner to repair and return the car back to me. When I asked who will absorb the cost of the tow trucks to and from their two locations, they told me that my insurance will have to cover it. Once I called my agent to let them know of the additional tow expense, and the other untruthful comments that were made to me, he gave me some additional choices. I decided to pick my car up and have another shop do the repairs. I called Caliber to tell them not to tow the car to their Santee location, that I will be in to pick it up. They responded with WAIT, let me have my General Manager call you. Fine, have the GM call me. 2 hours later, no call. I showed up to get the car and told the same guy that I've been talking with on the phone that the GM never called. His comment was "Yeah, never mind. He just wanted to know if the claim was set up.... (Made no since to me!!) I believe I avoided a huge headache not having to deal with untruthful people. Come on Caliber, do better!!! read more

I have taken my vehicle twice for repairs under insurance. The first time I took it in there were unnecessary parts replaced. I asked to see every part replaced and was always given the run around. The lighting to my Lexus IS 300 was never the same as before when I took it in. I was told all parts were new which we found out they were used but they billed my insurance as new. The second time, I had to take it to them again because my paint was cracking from the first time. My car was there for at least 1 1/2 weeks while I was paying for a rental. All necessary parts were not ordered correctly. To make long story short.... They had to take my car to another shop to fix all the alerts that it had from the accident. I was told that some one took off the "sensors" to my tires. Really????? From a small rear end . How is this possible? My husband who luckily is a mechanic quickly reacted to them and told them how is that possible. I will be contacting my Insurance to make sure they didn't charge things that weren't even done. read more

I had to wait about 2 weeks for the gentleman who hit my car at work to finally get ahold of his insurance company, what I didn't have to wait for was great and quick customer service from Jessica who helped get the whole process started and Mike who was so quick and efficient with my time and understanding I had two small children with me . From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed by Jessica who got me checked in and sat in the waiting room with coloring pages for my kids . The whole experience was great and done in a timely manner . Thank you again Jessica and Mike for the amazing quick and efficient service! read more

Incidents with cars can be annoying but with Caliber it was very easy and quality. My Corolla got hit and my service advisor Michael was amazing and so helpful. They stayed in contact with me throughout the process and got my car done in a timely manner. I will continue coming back here! read more

Amazing work. Car looks brand new, amazing service and customer interaction. Made my car look the same as it did before the accident .

Recently took my car in to this specific location due to a friend recommending their service and it was the best the decision I could have made. They quoted me way less to repair my bumper than the previous place I had taken it to and the quality of work was immaculate. The staff kept me in the loop throughout the whole process and showed a genuine interest in making sure I was taken care of. read more

Ahhhhmazing! Everyone who works here is SO nice and helpful! Yes, my car took longer than expected; not a big deal when you are working with a great team. Alberto answered all my questions, took my phone calls and texted me every couple of days-as requested. The wait was well worth it. My car looks brand new! Their work, time and dedication exceeded my expectations! Thank you SO very much to the San Marcos Caliber team for taking such great care of my car and making me feel like a priority. Truly appreciate you all! read more

I received an estimate for relatively minor repairs. The estimate was so high I still question whether they had my car or not. It smacked to me that I was being oversold and that I was ignorant enough to just go along with it. read more

Mike is a jerk. I expressed I had issues with them before on matching the color on my mom's car when i took my car to get appraised for my own repairs and basically just said how I don't want it to take forever. I call and try to schedule after receiving the estimate and they tell me AAA didn't give authorizations. Get a call from my insurance the next day saying they just don't want to do the work because I'm an upset customer and hadn't even dropped off the car. Instead of trying to improve my customer service experience, they just elected to take the easy way out. Ultimately, I'm going with Tag Collision down the street. Update: called and calmly tried to give Mike this feedback and he hung up on me need I say more? read more

I had such a great experience with Caliber Collision off of grand in San Marcos!! Not only were they very accommodating on times they got my car done extremely fast and it looks absolutely amazing. On top of all that they were extremely commutative and explained the process in detail and went over all my question. The front office staff was an absolute pleasure to work with. I was quite surprised how smoothly this all went because usually dealing with situations like this there's always so many complications and they just knew from the start what needed to be done. I'm very pleased and without a doubt I'm referring my friends and family. Thanks San Marcos caliber collision. read more

Outstanding service! Never ran into any issues and repair was done quick and easy! By far one of the best collision repairs in socal.

I have used caliber collision twice at two different locations but this one in San Marcos really needs improvement ... They were suppose to fix and paint my right rear side , when I got it back there was scratches and dings on my passenger side door which is the same side they where working on, I rarely to never have passengers therefore the passenger door hardly ever gets open , but in this occasion passenger side was the center of attention ... I let them know and all they did was touch it up with more paint, he said " you can't even see it" ya right when it's your car you notice everything... Then by the door they left a big paint drip going down ugh ... Annoyed and now I have to just eat it up and live with it... I thought my vehicle was In good experienced hands ... I was wrong ... Don't trust your investment aka Car ..to Caliber collision IN San Marcos read more

What a bunch of bozos. No reliability, no trustworthiness, no customer service. They've lost my business.

After horrible service with a different auto shop the last time I was in a collision this place was a breath of fresh air. My car needed both front and back end repair and I was on a short time restraint duh to upcoming travel. Guy made sure I had my car back in time and kept me updated all through out the process. My car was even ready faster than originally estimated due to my trip. Their office is clean and their staff is very helpful. I would recommend to anyone read more

I was in a recent car accident where a man in a big truck backed up without looking carefully and he smashed the whole front of my car! Even seeing me in his rear view camera he did not stop. First, I called Caliber Collision and talked to Gina who was compassionate and professional in listening to my experience. She was very calm and told me exactly what to do next and how Caliber would take care of my car. Next, I went to Caliber Collision on Grand Ave to have the damage assessed by Evan, Service Manager. Evan was very professional, calm, patient and walked me through the whole process. It took 10 days to get my car completely fixed. Evan went the extra mile in calling me each day to let me know the follow up. After an unexpected event like this I was very happy with the process and results of the repair!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Caliber Collison, Evan and Gina. You will be very satisfied with the results. Thank you so much for your care and professionalism. Monica Traystman read more

These people are amazing. Thank You for making a car accident - about as stress free as possible. Gina greeted me and quickly made sure I was informed, always answered when I had questions, of which I had NONE because she explained everything so well there wasn't much left to figure out. The work was done faster than expected! The body lines all matched up correctly and the paint was beautifully matched. I honestly cant tell it was so damaged. Great team at San Marco's Caliber, Gina is the best and I'd recommend them anytime!! All in all, a 5 star rating doesn't do it justice. There should be a 6th star for going above and beyond!!!! read more

Fantastic Service all the way around!! Michael is just amazing. He was my Service Adviser and I just can not say enough about him. He communicated extremely well with me and my insurance and followed through on every aspect of his job even going above. He was very thorough on his estimate, which made it easy from the beginning. He also was the middle man between me and my insurance which was awesome because every part and every repair was approved and I did not have to do a thing. My car was done ahead of schedule, washed and ready for me to enjoy!! The repair work itself is beautiful, you would never of known I was rear ended. Clearly Caliber San Marcos has technicians who are professional, and meticulous. Thanks Guys!!! Thank you again Michael, Stephanie, Alma and the whole crew who worked on my car. My car was involved in 2 accidents a month apart. Caliber Collision took care of both damages at the same visit. Throughout the duration it took to complete the repairs, Vern at Caliber Collision kept me updated. The repairs took 2 1/2 weeks longer to complete than first estimated due to delays in getting parts & the volume cars they had to work on. I told Vern that I was going out of town soon & that I needed my car by a certain date. Vern made sure that my repairs were completed in time for my trip. I appreciate all of the hard work that everyone involved in my repairs did to expedite getting my car back to me by the time I needed it. I highly recommend Caliber Collision. read more

My car was in a crash that pretty much destroyed the front bumper as well as some other critical components. This was my first ever car accident so I was under a ton of stress and had no clue what to expect. My insurance company recommended this shop and so I decided to give them a call. Evan Murray picked up and walked me through everything I needed to do. Not only did they exceed every single one of my expectations but they had my car looking like new within a week. Evan kept me in the loop during the entire process and answered all my questions which relieved a ton of my stress. The people here definitely know what they're doing and are exceptionally good at making sure your experience is as easy and seamless as possible. I would highly recommend this shop to a friend or family member. read more

I'm sure they repair ones car very well, it's just they have no idea of how sort things out...Their call center tells me to come over for an estimate, and the shop has no idea of what's going on. They kept on saying to me "you know you can go any ware you want"... so I did.... It's all about customer service read more

I'm not big on writing reviews but in this situation I want to make sure that NO ONE ever goes through the pain I've gone through with Caliber. If this review helps just one person then I'm happy. First of all, they don't reach out to you.... YOU have to reach out to them to find out what's going on with your car. It took them 3 weeks to deal with the insurance and then said my car was a total loss which was not the truth. They added extra damage to the front of my car saying it was because of the accident when I had proof from the other car that we never touched them in that area. For Caliber its about a quick buck -- what cars can they fix quickly to make the most money and junk the rest. DON"T TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! TRUST ME! Instead take your car to Tag Auto Collision - they are honest and reliable. The backstory -- I brought my car to Caliber Collision because it was the 'preferred' auto body shop of Horace Mann - 1st wrong decision. They came back with a quote for around $2000.00. I thought we were good until I had to call them to find out that they submitted a new quote for around $5700.00 and said my car would be a total loss. I was put in a position to buy back my car after they turned it into a salvage only to find out from another auto body shop that the radiator they originally quoted didn't need to be replaced among other things. Tag fixed it for HALF the price. I don't trust Caliber and after hearing from others on Yelp i wish I'd gone with my first instinct to go somewhere else not to mention we did a Google search and found out that Caliber Collision settled a case for $5.8 million for car repair fraud.
