Took my car in today to have it looked at for an estimate. A piece that attaches the fender to the body had broken. Guy said they could fix it right then if I could wait a few minutes and they wouldn't charge me. When he came back he took me into his office and told me they had reattached the fender but it would break again as the place that had done the work on it previously (Fix It Mission Valley) had not used the right parts. He ordered the correct parts (plastic brackets that are cheap) and to come back tomorrow for a longer-term repair. My car looks right and I left feeling good. read more

This autobody and paint shop does not do any mechanical work but they will give mechanical advice to the insurance company which will be used against you even though they are not qualified to do so. In addition they are extremely overpriced and sure know how to price gu the insurance companies. They will not test drive your vehicle before handing it off to you. So if your vehicle was in a car accident that should've been a total loss and they end up repairing just the auto body and paint be ready for a bunch of check engine lights on the dashboard to go on a few miles after driving off and giving them payment. They claim they had a mechanic they usually refer the vehicle too but will not refer to their mechanic if they think it does not need to be referred to a mechanic even though you show them evidence that the vehicle engine is malfunctioning and about to explode and indicating to shut the vehicle off. I will never recommend anybody to come here unless they want the Most terrible service available. read more

The third time, they didn't repair all the damage and when I looked at the quote, it was very non-specific. My bumper had been plowed in by a fearless raccoon damaging my fog lamp and bumper. I was directed to J&R Auto Body and Paint by the Garage that looks after my 1967 Alfa Romeo spider, after they inadvertently bumped its nose (ouch!). Being a pragmatist, I felt it would be an opportunity to improve a few of the small flaws that the car had when I bought it 4 years ago, especially the front driver's fender and the trunk lid. I was immediately impressed by Denisse Barragan, whose the 'front of house' person and whose interpersonal skills are outstanding. The week when my car was done (early December), unfortunately, Ruben, the boss, was away on family business and I'm afraid that it was a case of 'when the cat's away', with the quality of the work/attention to detail just not being there. What particularly offended me is that obvious flaws that couldn't possibly have been missed out (eg in the lacquer) were left untouched and I had to make a fuss for remedial action to be taken. In the end, after my car went back twice, the work was to a good standard so I was finally happy. read more

I needed some damage fixed on my driver's side and I shopped around since I wanted to take care of it outside of insurance. My first quote was from one of the major body shops in town and they gave me an estimate and it was really high. Shop #2 was a bit lower but they said they would need my car for 10 business days. J&R Auto Body was my third stop and their estimate was half of what the first place wanted to charge. J&R also said they could have my car done in 3 business days. Ray at J&R was very thorough and professional and kept me informed every step of the way. There was a part that was delayed and he kept following up with the parts supplier and kept me in the loop as well. He texted me when the part was in and I brought the car in on a Monday afternoon. He even offered to drive me home after I dropped the car. He texted me on Thursday morning and said the car would be ready by 3 pm that day. I picked it up on Friday morning and the car looked good as new and was freshly detailed. J&R Auto Body was good, cheap and quick. I hope I don't require their services but if I do, I will be back. In fact, I have a teen driver and I was thinking of taking his car in to have J&R fix the little dings and dents that have miraculously appeared on his car. I took my car here to get a fresh paint job on the hood and bumper. They did an amazing job. My car was done in 3.5 days and looked like brand new when I picked it up. They even detailed the inside of my car- I have a pug and I have never been able to clean under the seats effectively to get all the hair out- but they did!!
