Incredible customer service. Shadi, the owner, was the most honest human being I've ever come across, period. A few weeks ago, my wife backed into one of those poles at the gas station (she said she didn't hear beeping from proximity sensor!). It looked pretty scratched up (see pic) and wouldn't rub off with scratch remover. Since our vehicle is fairly new to us (we bought it in January), we wanted to keep it looking as possible for as long as possible, so I visited to a total of four shops to get estimates around San Marcos. The following are the quotes I received: - $275 - $882.13 (pictured) - $688.74 (pictured) Crazy price ranges, right? Well apparently, I was told that my vehicle's paint color is "three-step" which is apparently expensive and labor intensive to repair. Some of the above shops talked about how, to repair this scratch, they had to remove the bumper, paint and sand the entire panel, up through the top of the door and blending into the top front panel, taking 3-4 days. I especially love how they told me that they were "working hard to reduce the cost as much as possible..." by trying to buff out some of the scratches instead of doing a full paint job, charging fewer man hours, charging less per hour on labor than they normally do, give a 10% discount.... all to make me feel like I'm getting a break... man, i feel like a fool. Active Auto Collision was the very last shop I went to. It was a "might at well stop here" decision since I visited mostly everyone else in the immediate area. I met with Shadi, the owner, who assessed my scratch and told me he wanted to see if it was just a scuff that could easily be removed. The gentleman simply went into the garage, came back with a rag and some type of solvent, and proceeded to remove this scuff right in front of my eyes. It was like nothing happened. This shop deserves all the respect one can give. I couldn't get over how much other shops wanted to charge me for something Active Auto Collision did at no cost. Most impressively, Shadi didn't ask for any payment and wouldn't take any tip. He literally could have done what everyone else did and give me a quote for a couple hundred bucks for repainting the panel and bumper. Because I am so grateful for his service, I will do absolutely EVERYTHING in my power to promote this business. I have zero ties to this company, and receive zero financial interest for this review. I was on the verge of spending a lot of money for something that a rag, some solvent, less than a minute, and an honest owner fixed. Customer services this outstanding needs to be highlighted and rewarded with the lion's share of business in this highly competitive area. I've had Elias and Shadi paint a few of my customers cars and have always been happy with the work. These were high quality metallic colors and were real head turners to say the least. One car was a 67 fastback in pepper grey metallic and the other a 68 F Bird in a somewhat candy apple red metallic. The fastback had considerable body work done, multiple new panels and blended fiberglass side vents. The Firebird was taken down to bare metal patched up nicely. Both cars are absolutely beautiful and turn heads everywhere driven. I took my 67 Mustang to a restoration shop and because they do everything except paint and body work they agreed to get several paint and body estimates for me. They specifically recommended this shop as one they used frequently. After agreeing to this choice they contracted to have the work done and I would pay the bill. As with most restorations there turned out to be more work than originally thought. I readily agreed to pay the increased amount to have the work completed correctly. After the car was delivered back to the restoration shop I went to pick it up and was not satisfied with the work that had been done. The restoration shop said they would take it back and have the issues corrected. When I got the car back again not only had the issues not been satisfactorily corrected I noticed several other major defects in the work. The shop owner said the painter was through and did not want to address anything further and it turned out to be a middle man situation where I had no recourse because I had not contracted the job. I then posted pictures on Yelp and expressed my disappointment with the way the job was completed. After a short time Shadi the owner of the paint shop agreed to talk to me and address the issues. I took the car back to him and we agreed that for additional money they would repaint the car and correct the obvious issues in the original job. Shadi assured me that he we personally oversee the work and make sure it was completed correctly. I put my trust in the man and paid the additional fees and ended up with a beautiful red 1967 Mustang that I am very happy with. Active Auto Collision had the most competitive price, but they were very personable, which may not seem like a lot, but for us, it went a long way. We ended up getting the repairs done there and the service and workmanship was excellent (they repaired the original scuff and another along our bumper from a garage door mishap, no additional charge). We ultimately brought our second car to them as well, to have our oxidizing roof and hood paint touched up - again, received a very competitive quote, w/ warranty, and again gave them our business. Very happy with Fadi and their staff. I later learned that it's a family owned operation, which, in my experience have always produced the highest quality results and overall customer experience.
