After a minor issue, broken back window and a couple of small scratches, I used caliber's automated AI system to take photos and get a quote. It was just short of $3000. After me telling them I wanted to pay out of pocket, they were happy to get an in person estimate, and it "only went up a few hundred dollars" (their words) When I didn't get the work done, they kept spamming me with text messages, so I finally called back and they put me in contact with a manager. Useless waste of time. He was surprised the price went up with the in person estimate, but at the same time defended replacing parts that had zero damage. To make a bit of a long story short, I ended up getting the glass done immediately for less than $600, and then doing the scratches and small dent a bit later for another $600. Roughtly a third of what Caliber quoted. If you're having insurance cover it, sure - maybe they are okay, but if you want to pay out of pocket, run far away. Pricing is insane. Car is back to looking like it did the day I drove it off the lot. read more

Took my Mazda to them per state farm referred after we got hit by a State Farm policy driver. The estimate for the damages charged to State Farm was $6840 and gave the car back after 2 weeks with the bumper misaligned, paint job chipped, headlight disconnected fog lights don't work so they may also still be disconnected and I took the car back 3 times they said they will put a new bumper from manufacture since they had purchased after market and when I took it back they kept it another day and when we picked it up I realized it was the exact same one they did not do anything it had same I paint chip and still looks misaligned not secure properly. I then noticed the front left light not turning on they initially said they didn't disconnect the lights but would take a look at it so I took it back again when we took it back the light was disconnected and they connected it back and they are the only ones who have had our car and hands on it. Poor quality work and the fee charges are insane! Insurance payed but what a fraud! I had a crash earlier this year and with my GMC truck and looked 10x worst than this incident with my Mazda and they charged way less to fix at another location and took half the time. Calliber Collision charges way more than needed to fix with a mediocre outcome and left lights disconnected used aftermarket parts and they did not fit well. They also blamed to previous damage that was a reason to not being able to leave hood aligned. Trust and believe the others people We used for my GMC would have done 100% better job than this. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR THE PRICE AND OUTCOME DEF Insurance FRAUD! Charging more than they do! I regret taking it to them! I still have to figure out about my fights lights not working. read more

Received the car back with disconnected power lines. Normally the power for the dome lights run from the front of the headliner, down the side to the rear of the car to power the rear dome lights. Instead of reconnecting them or letting me know they were accidentally disconnected, the power lines were hidden and rerouted down the B pillar connected to nothing. I had to take apart the car to find out what was changed. I thought I could save some time coming here, but no. Never again. read more

I stopped in to just get a price quote and make an appointment for a minor fix, a couple holes drilled in front so I could attach my new CA license plate. BEWARE !! Once my insurance company got the claim set up, I called Caliber twice to coordinate with them to do the repairs on my car. (The left hand should know what the right hand is doing) Once confirmed they were able to receive the car at their San Marcos location, I set up the tow and had the car dropped off. When the car was delivered, they called to notify me they received the car, then I gave them authorization to perform the repairs. Great so far... In just a few minutes after them receiving the car, I got another call from them saying that "It looks like your car took a significant hit, and that they will have to tow it to their Santee Store". After explaining to them there was no "significant hit" and it was basically just the plastic parts and lights in the front end, I asked what the difference was between their two shops, and he said, well, actually it's because they didn't have the personnel in San Marcos to work on the car in a timely manner to repair and return the car back to me. When I asked who will absorb the cost of the tow trucks to and from their two locations, they told me that my insurance will have to cover it. Once I called my agent to let them know of the additional tow expense, and the other untruthful comments that were made to me, he gave me some additional choices. I decided to pick my car up and have another shop do the repairs. I called Caliber to tell them not to tow the car to their Santee location, that I will be in to pick it up. They responded with WAIT, let me have my General Manager call you. Fine, have the GM call me. 2 hours later, no call. I showed up to get the car and told the same guy that I've been talking with on the phone that the GM never called. His comment was "Yeah, never mind. He just wanted to know if the claim was set up.... (Made no since to me!!) I believe I avoided a huge headache not having to deal with untruthful people. Come on Caliber, do better!!! read more
