My Range Rover recently got into an accident and the front bumper fell off and part of the front was cracked as well. My Farmers Insurance referred me to go to Caliber for repair. At the beginning I was a little doubtful because my car is a brand new 2019 RR, I normally bring it to the dealership or bodyshop referred by the dealership, I wasn't sure if Caliber could do a good job. But to my surprise, I had a very good experience at the shop. The manager Chris Kim took great care of my car, it looks like brand new again, and they finished the job in a very reasonable period of time. I also noticed that I had some scuff marks on one of my side mirrors which was touched up by Mr Kim because I mentioned it to him during the initial appointment. Best experience at a repair shop!! I moved to the Bay Area a couple years ago and was looking for a local shop with quality work and service. I'm pretty in particular about my car but the staff here dealt with me and all my concerns and the girl up front Shine always answered my questions and made me feel taken care of. Super nice team but one incompetent technician can ruin the whole experience. To their credit they fired the guy because of the crappy work he did on my car, but they should have had a better quality assurance (post repair inspection) process to prevent what happened in the first place. They fixed my car but when I got it back it had defective parts, missing parts and separately improperly installed parts. My car had to go back to their shop five (5) times until it was properly repaired. As I said, nice staff but my confidence in this shop, and willingness to use this shop again, is no more. read more

Came in to fix my rear ended car that had sustained damage inside the trunk as well. Caliber Collision fixed it up and handled all the insurance details with the at fault driver's insurance company and offered a rental. The side view mirror of my car was broken and needed to be replaced. Chris was very prompt and was able to order the mirror and get it fixed. I also casually mentioned that I needed to replace my headlight bulb and that the headlight plastic covers were cloudy. Chris offered to help replace the headlight and sanded the plastic headlight covers down; they now look good as new. He did this all as a favor to me and I greatly appreciate it. The moment I walked into this shop, the repair guy Eric yelled at his phone, "IT'S YOUR PROBLEM NOT MINE!" and slammed the phone on his desk. Oh I was so glad I wasn't the customer on the other side of the phone, but I remember this moment so vividly because it encapsulates my general experience in this shop - rude. Yes, the girl at the front desk was actually polite, but the repair guy Eric has some serious attitude problem. Every moment he talked to me felt like he was in great pain. The only time I could feel his passion in his job was when he asked me when I would be ready to leave my car at his shop. LOL. I eventually decided to take my business elsewhere because I need someone not so rude to work with. Until this day I still don't get where Eric's rage come from. I usually write more bad reviews than good reviews so please take this as a 6 star review. Sabrina at Caliber called me every couple of days and kept me informed of what was happening with my car. She was so nice and friendly even when I mentioned that I didn't know what half the parts I needed replaced did, she explained it to me very clearly so I knew what was going on. She was so thoughtful and a great communicator. The damage to my car was so extensive from the storm that it took me 3 weeks to get my car back but the work that Caliber did was quality and I feel that I chose this place from the list of places my insurance company gave me. I went in last week to get some scratches minimized on my Subaru, and the work that they did is definitely top notch. I was a little bit worried because some of the scratches were fairly deep, but they removed most of them and made the deep ones much less noticable. They worked quickly, efficiently, and for a good price. I'm so satisfied with their work that I'm going back in tomorrow for an estimate on a rear end collision I was recently in. I went in to Caliber after being involved in a three car pile up on an internal road. TERI is wonderful. He checked out the minor damage on the bumper and suggested not repairing it. He said he did not think the inside of the bumper was damaged and took a lot of time explaining his diagnosis--pointing out other symptoms that need to show up to indicate internal damage. What do you look for in an auto repair place? For me it's (in no particular order): a fair price, honest service and a little something special. Caliber Collision absolutely has all three. My 2002 Honda Civic recently had an unfortunate collision. Nothing too bad, but enough damage to the front where repairs were necessary. I was a new Mountain View Caliber Collision customer but went to them on a trusted recommendation. Very glad I did, and very glad I met Jaime and his team! Price: without naming names, another auto repair shop in the area quoted me at a little more than 2x what Caliber Collision did. Now, that was based off a visual quote and perhaps could have gone down once the mechanic got behind the panels, but when do you ever know the quote to drop 50%? Caliber Collision was the best value in this case, but don't go there just for price alone. Read on... Honest Service: Jaime pointed out a couple of minor mechanical issues that he said were very easy fixes. I thought he'd show me an itemized bill with labor, etc. but instead said they were so minor they just went ahead and did them. Wow! Little Something Special: The Honda Civic has had a hard life and a few years ago had a different run in with an inanimate object. We had asked for a quote on fixing this minor panel damage and was recommended not to worry about it because the damage was minor and did not impact vehicle operation. I was stunned -- STUNNED -- to come out and not find the dent when the car was brought back around. Now, they didn't replace the panel for me or anything, but they were able to pull the dent out! WOW! I always thought replacing the panel was such a waste, and they did me a HUGE FAVOR by fixing that unsightly embarrassment! TL DR: Service - 1 star: failure to resolve issue initially. Expect to contact insurance company to intervene when your concerns aren't addressed. Workmanship - 2 star: major damage repaired, paint job mediocre, restored headlights as a bonus Communication - 1 star: I called them initially to find out when my car was ready and the quote I asked for. You may have to reach out to remind them of what you need. Advice - Go somewhere else unless you want mediocre service and work done on your car. I brought my vehicle to Caliber Collision on October 8th because it was a trusted USAA repair shop. I called them on October 14th to find out what the status of my car was. Milton said it would be ready to pick up at the end of the day on October 15th. I checked out the car on October 15th and noticed that there was paint drip on the trunk handle and asked if they could fix it. Milton said they would. On October 19th, Shine said my car was ready for pick up. I visited on October 20th, checked to see if the brake, signal, and emergency lights worked. They did. However, the paint drip was still there and we also noticed that there were air bubbles on the lift gate as well as minor paint scratches around the left tail light that wasn't addressed initially. I asked them if they can fix it. On October 26th, Shine said that the car was ready. I asked if they redid the work. She said yes. I went in yesterday afternoon to check out the car. They did not fix the air bubbles, the paint drip was still on the lift gate, and it looked like they took a little brush and painted over the scratch instead of removing the light and painting over it. I asked why it wasn't fixed. Milton said I needed to come back in 2-3 weeks to let the paint cure so they can redo it. I said they can keep the car for 2 weeks (around November 9th-16th) to wait for the paint to cure and redo the job. Caliber Collision has had my car for almost 3 weeks already. At this point, I would think that the paint has already had enough time to cure. They've also repeatedly informed me that my car has been ready, only to find that the same issue was not resolved or attempted to be resolved. They did restore my headlights, though. That was nice. I contacted my insurance company to let them know I wasn't happy with the work and escalated the issue. Apparently, my car will be done on October 29th. Where was the 2-3 weeks I had to wait? Thankfully, I visited for the last time on October 30th. They redid the paint job and I finally got to take it home. read more

The repair itself looks like new, but the communication and service was exemplary. I received text updates about the progress. After contacting my insurance company upon noticing damage to my car from a hit and run accident, they said Caliber was a preferred provider. So I went to their shop and was greeted by Terry. Similar to other reviewers, he was super friendly and extremely helpful. He gave me a quote for the damage but said his guy could try and buff out the marks and do light touch up for free, and it would take 15 minutes (which it did). The car came back looking amazing, so I didn't even need to have them do the more extensive repair. I had the option, of course, but by just living with the 99% solution, I was able to avoid paying the $500 deductible. Terry did this for FREE, and I asked how they can make money doing this. He said he just wanted me to keep them in mind in case I have a need in the future. I certainly will....thank you Terry! read more
