Being in a car accident is a drag...especially when it is not your fault. But hey, accidents happen right? The review is in regards to service received. There's a couple of things that we endured with Caliber that were less than an outstanding... 1. On our first visit here, we received an estimate. We also received an independent estimate from the other party's insurance company. When Caliber discovered the other insurance's estimate was more, they conveniently stated they underestimated the damage, and that more money was needed. 2. When we contacted Caliber on several occasions to speak to our assigned Service Advisor, we were told that she "stepped away", "was on break, or "was not available". The only time that we actually spoke to her was when she initiated the phone call. Ironic much? 3. We dropped our car off on February 16th. I was informed by text message that the car was available for pickup on March 29th and must be picked up that day. Was there 6 weeks of damage? No, but my poor car could not be released until the insurance company ponied up $6700 (which was an insane jump from the initial $2900 estimate provided). 4. When picking up the vehicle, an article was missing and the car would not start. All in all, sure it could have been a crappy luck of the draw, but I think I will choose a different collision place in the future. I understand the rhetoric and cat/mouse games that collision and insurance companies play, but I wish to be spared the expense in the future. FYI, This location does not take cash. Credit/Debit cards, checks, and money orders are acceptable forms of payment. read more

I was recommended to bring my car here by my insurance company after someone ran into it when it was parked in Venice. My insurance company made an appointment for me and I came in to drop it off. Overall, the establishment is very nice. The exterior and the interior are clean and they serve coffee and fresh popcorn -- which is a unique food item to find at such a business. Once I arrived I parked my car and checked in with the woman at the desk. She was very nice. Though I would have been just as happy to simply drop my keys off and leave my car as I knew I was going to have Caliber do the work but I was asked to wait so that the appraiser could actually draw up an estimate for my car. The wait was long. It took the appraiser about forty-five minutes to get to me. That wait time just seems unreasonable for someone who came in with an insurance company appointment. But, once she did get to me, the appraiser was very nice and she did her job very well. They then called the rent-a-car company for me, who came and picked me up. I was on my way. Though I was told the job would take only about a week, once they got started on it, the work took more like two and a half weeks. This is not an issue, however, as it was almost expected. I have never taken a car to have bodywork done that it did not take longer then the estimated time. Plus, I had a rent-a-car, supplied by my insurance company, so I was fine. The woman that was handling my work at Caliber keep me informed whenever the time was extended. So, I always knew what was going on. When the car was done I came in and picked it up. The work looked okay. Someone from the shop called me about a week after I picked up my car to make sure the car and my overall experience was good. Again, it was okay. But... Here are a couple of things you should think about if you are planning to bring your car to Caliber Collision. In terms of their work, as stated, it was okay; not great. One of the things I was very surprised about is that they did not polish my entire car when they completed the body work. They only did the back section where my car had been damaged. They really should have done the entire car, to make it look uniform, as the way they did it, the back section of my car was nice and shiny and the front dull. Not good. That just seems lazy. This, after them getting paid a lot of money to supposedly do the job right. The other thing is, maybe a month or so after the body repair, when the paint had settled in, you could really notice that they did not do a good job on matching the paint. It is very obvious what parts of the car they painted and what is the original color. Again, not good. It just makes a car look bad when a body shop does poor color matching and you can easily see the difference in the paint. Overall, nobody likes to deal with this kind of stuff and I had as good of an experience as can be expected, as least in terms of customer service. Though I am not happy with their paint work. It fact, every time I actually take the time to study it I observe how the paint matching is not very good. The one thing I will say is that after finding out about Caliber, by being recommended to bring my car in to this location by my insurance company, I began to notice that they have shops all over the L.A. area. Two of them are, in fact, closer to where I lived than this one. So, if your insurance company suggests you bring your car to Caliber, like they did with me, make sure that the location they suggest is the one closest to where you live. read more

I called to make an appointment with this company that was recommended by my insurance company, they told me my claim number doesn't sound like it's from my insurance company. Which is called USAA!! At the time of me giving the actual & factual claim number, I'm reading it from my insurance website!! But since it doesn't sound correct to him then I'm just totally a bogus possible customer!! Not anymore! Not ever!! Well it's DEFINITELY Caliber Collision's lost!! I would NEVER refer them Not even to fix a flat tire, with the way I was treated!! And I'll be reporting them to my insurance company. Hopefully to get them off recommend locations for repairs!!! This specific location is honestly the BEST. I was lucky enough to work with Brandon, who made this entire process so smooth. He made sure to always update me about my car in the shop every other day, which gave me more peace of mind. Great experience and would definitely recommend this shop! read more

Whoa, I never thought I'd be happy about doing business with a body shop, but the folks here have been so awesome that I have to write this review! 1. I had a fender bender (my fault). 2. Called my auto insurance (Connect by American Family through Costco); was worried about getting taken advantage of by everyone involved at every step of the process. This turned out to be needless worrying! 3. I created a project on Yelp and got several responses, but I was not comfortable with anybody that I spoke to. I then called my insurance agent back and asked for the list of shops with which the insurance maintains an agreement for guaranteed labor rates, etc. I ended up choosing Caliber Collision in Gardena, and I couldn't be happier! 4. My insurance also works with Enterprise Car Rental, who also works with Caliber. So all three companies were working together to take care of me. It was truly a seamless experience! 5. When I dropped my vehicle off at Caliber, somebody from Enterprise showed up pretty quickly to pick me up. The person waited very patiently for me as I finished my business with Caliber, drove me back to the enterprise office, where I rented my car. Enterprise even sent the car through the car wash for me. 6. The repair took only a few days, and it looks brand new! Caliber Collision even washed my car inside and out before returning it to me! 7.Enterprise and Caliber Collision have an agreement such that I was able to drop my rental car off at Caliber! Bottom line: everybody at Caliber and Enterprise in Gardena were 100% fabulous and amazing! If I ever need Body Shop services again, I will definitely be coming to Caliber and if I need to rent a car again, I will definitely be coming to Enterprise in Gardena! read more

My experience with Caliber was horrific. The person I worked with, Ana, told me that the car would be ready in a week and it took almost a whole month for me to finally get my car back. Every time I called Caliber on the date they said my car would be ready, they would tell me the car would be ready "tomorrow". This went on for one week straight because they said they were waiting on parts to come in. I finally got to talk to the manager Carlos hoping he would provide me more details and some sort of a compensation for my huge inconvenience. Instead, he was hesitant in giving me anything and said the car would be ready tomorrow (big surprise). So the day comes for me to pick up my car. I tried calling him in the morning to see what time would be best for me to pick up the car and apparently he was with a customer. Fine. He finally calls me back at the end of the day when they close to tell me my car won't be ready and told me to get a rental AFTER the rental car shop had closed for the day. What really angered me was that he just said "ok" when I told him I wasn't happy about what was going on. I finally called their corporate office and got hold of the regional manager, Sandra. She heard out about what was going on and went to the shop to talk to the manager. Finally, the shop got their act together and gave me an accurate pickup date. Sandra had the shop give me a discount on my deductible which was the least they could do. The front desk staff were courteous and polite despite the fact they weren't sure about what was going on with my car. Ana could've communicated with me more. However, she was apologetic and explained why my car took so long to repair. However the manager, Carlos was unprofessional and unhelpful throughout the whole process. He saw me when I picked up my car and didn't even bother to apologize for the inconvenience that the shop caused me. That's pretty rude. Ozzy was helpful when I brought my car back to install a missing part. He was polite and explained some concerns I had with my car. Moreover, I had things missing from my car after I got it back. I have no proof and didn't accuse anyone of stealing. I just asked the staff politely if they've seen my belongings because they disappeared when I got my car back. They said they didn't and that was that. Even though Caliber did fix my problem, they gave me a lot of trouble throughout the process. There's a lot of room for improvement. read more

Came in for an estimate and Elmer was very nice and professional. I called my insurance and made an appointment to star my repairs.

The technician who worked on repairing my car did a terrible job. The job took a lot longer than expected. Always with the excuse that parts needed to be ordered. When I finally received my car, the right door didn't open and parts were missing from the inside of my car. Strange. A few weeks later the brand new light that was added is no longer working. I have to deal with these people again. They don't work on the weekends which means I either have to take it in when I'm working from home or call to have them schedule a pick up which never happens. My insurance company recommended this place. Big mistake. Wish I would have done more research. Front desk receptionist is incredibly nice and professional. read more

I'm giving this a 1 star but I would give it zero if I could dud to the amount of problems that have occurred with this repair shop. Initially, I felt like this was a good place to bring my car because the staff, believe his name was David, seemed knowledgeable and friendly. I turned my car in over a month ago due to being T Boned and when they were making final repairs and driving it to another shop for suspension repair they got into an accident with my car! Due to this accident they are now ducking my calls, giving me false updates and keep extending the date I am supposed to get it back. Ultimately, this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this repair to anyone and I am not planning on ever bringing my car back again! read more

Unfortunately I was in a car accident a few weeks ago, but luckily I was referred to this body shop. Elmer assisted me and kept me informed throughout the entire process of my car being repaired. This is by far the best experience I have had in an auto body shop ! It is already an unfortunate event when you find yourself in the need to get your vehicle fixed because of a car accident and nothing can be more stressful than going to a shop that over charges you and that fails to deliver your vehicle in a reasonably timely fashion. Fortunately, I took my car to this caliber Collision and I avoided that extra stress. .. everyone from the receptionist to the parts manager were attentive and provided excellent customer service. From this experience, its visible that this shop is bein run in a diligent way. The manager Castro answered all my questions and concerns.. hopefully I dont need to come to a body shop any time in the near future but if I do need to, I wont hesitate to come back here. Don't recommend had two repairs done at the Gardena location both were really late and had issues with both. The parts used are really cheap and low quality. This place is horrible! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I'm a Disabled Veteran, and I trusted this place! In June of 2022, my car was hit on the back, left side. The wheel was messed up, rear left panel, alignment, all of that. I drove it home after the accident, and my can was shaking. It was towed to Caliber Collision, through USAA, my insurance. Caliber Collision did the work to fix my car. As the mechanic was giving me my keys after all the work was done, he told me, "I think there's something still wrong with your rear axle. Go inside. I'm going to take it on a road test. " He brought it back and told me my car was fine. I left. 2 months later, I started having issues with my car. It was making a loud sound on the inside. It sounded like my windows wouls be down while driving on a freeway, but I'll have my windows up, and be on the surface streets. It would be so loud, if anyone called me on my phone, through my speakers, with the bluetooth from my phone, I couldn't hear them, and they couldn't hear me. I took my car to the dealership NUMEROUS times, and to a mom and pop mechanic place to see what was wrong. They always did the same thing, plug the little computer under my dashboard and look for a Check Engine light, but it would never come on. Rev the engine. Check the brake lights. Check my fluids. Because there was no Check Engine light, they didn't know what to look for. Neither place took my car for a road test. Not at all. The last road test my car was on, was in june with Caliber Collision. Fast Forward to March 9th, 2023. My Rear Differential breaks. I have my car towed to the dealership. I call USAA. They tell me it's a warranty issue because the dealership says that all the bolts are missing, and this is what cause the rear differential box to drop and break. So after 3 weeks of my car sitting at the dealership, it's finally sent to Caliber Collision. They deny their negligence, and say that WEAR AND TEAR are the reason my rear differential broke. My car is a 2015 Dodge Charger. I bought it in July of 2018. It isn't even 10 years old yet, and I haven't even had it for 5 years yet. Like I said, I'm a Disabled Vet. I have a bad back. I'm not out there doing Street Takeovers , doing doughnuts in the streets in my car. I'm taking my child to and from school, while I go to and from work. I take her to ballet on the weekends, and to spend time with her friends. I'm not doing anything crazy in my car to cause WEAR AND TEAR on my rear diffetential, so how is that their answer? I told them I think that when the lady hit my car, she may have knocked the bolts loose, and since they never checked my rear differential, not even while fixing my alignment, how would they know that didn't happen. They keep denying their NEGLIGENT WORK!! This place isn't all that good. They keep saying WEAR AND TEAR. That's not true. They just don't want to admit they messed up on "fixing" my vehicle. Update: They still refuse to fix their negligent work on my car. They called me to pick up my car by saying my car is ready for pickup. Luckily, I was smart enough to ask if the repairs were done. They told me no. I told them that my claim is still open. read more

I tend not to write many reviews but I think that I share my experiences with both Gardena and Torrance location. On October 5, 2020 I drop off my vehicle to be repaired to have the front passenger door repaired, I paid $ 1756.45 to start the repair, I wanted the repair to be done correctly so opted to pay an additional $725.29 to have a new factory door installed. The repair order stated that it would take 4 days to repair. Two days later I received a call for the estimator that the vehicle would be sent to another repair location because they were short staffed, I agreed to that change and the vehicle was moved to the Torrance location. On October 19, 2020 I received a call from the Torrance location that the repairs were completed and if I could pick up that the vehicle later that evening. I arrived about 30 min before they closed and the estimator had me sign all the release paper work and the remaining balance before inspecting the repairs. Once all the paperwork was completed the vehicle was pulled out to the driveway. I inspected the vehicle and the repairs were not acceptable, the door was installed properly and the door gapping was wrong. Also the paint had several imperfections, there were pitting's on the entire door. I requested that the work be redone and the estimator agreed. On October 22, 2020 I received a call that the vehicle was ready and the estimator stated that he personally inspected all the vehicle and it was repaired correctly. One again I arrived prior to there closing time and it was dark and I could not see the rework so took delivery of the vehicle. The next morning I did an inspection and once again the repairs were incorrect. I called the Gardena location and had requested to speak to the manager and Jose Castro took my call. I informed him that the issue I had at the other location and I wanted to meet with him so he could inspect the work that done at the Torrance location, he stated that he was busy and would not have time until October 28, 2020 to meet with me. On October 28, 2020 I met with Mr Castro and he proceeded to take pictures and I pointed out all my concerns. After about 15 min he stated he would call me back when he could give an appointment to have the work done again. A few days later he called me and stated that the next appointment he had was January 3, 2021 because he was short staffed. I agreed to the day and he assured me that it would be taking care of. On February 3, 2021 Mr Castro called me that the vehicle was ready. I went the next day and picked up the vehicle and again the same thing I will add pictures so you can see what I am referring to. I was tired dealing this the local facility's so I decided to take delivery and go directly to corporate. I called the toll free number to place a complaint and the operator took my information and it went back to Mr Castro and not to a different department. I sent Mr Castro an Email requesting to speak to the district Manager. I received a call from TJ Chahal Regional Manager and did not get anywhere with him. In my opinion if you decide to take your vehicle to Caliber Collision Check everything before you sign anything and pay any invoices because when you sign and pay they don't care and will give you the runaround. After my experience I sold my vehicle taking a loss of -$11,869.08. Prior to the damage I purchased the vehicle 20 days earlier. This facility is beyond unprofessional. I had dropped off my vehicle on January 23 at around 4 PM. When I spoke with the advisor with assessing my car I was very specific and asked how long this job will take, he said it should take no more than 10 days since it's a simple repair the bumper and trunk. I was thrilled to hear that since I use my vehicle for work and the rental I had was not going to be sufficient for my job duties. Before I had left the advisor told me he would give me a call on Wednesday the 24th to give me an estimate on time and when I should be expecting my car back since it would be taring the car down Wednesday morning. Well Wednesday morning came and went Wednesday afternoon came and went and Wednesday evening came and went. No phone call whatsoever at all not even a courtesy email which they have on file for me. I contacted them Thursday but their phone systems were down and I could not get through so that was a wasted day. tried calling them again on Friday I still couldn't get through boggling my mind I was irritated that I could not get through to the company to find out what the estimate on time was actually going to be. It wasn't until Monday afternoon that I get A phone call from the company saying my car should be ready on Thursday At the latest. So I waited until Thursday happy and excited I would have my car back. I called them Thursday and I was told let me go check on the car I'll give you a call back we have to see if the paint is done. I waited 3 1/2 hours for someone to contact me no one ever reach back out to me. I had to call back again and ask again what is the status of my car? Then they tell me oh it'll be ready on Friday contact us at 10:30 AM on Friday to arrange a pick up time so we can have the car ready and washed. Now it's Friday 12:30 PM and my car is now being held until possibly tomorrow!!! What kind of horse shit is this?! Now I won't have a phone call back until after 3:30 PM on a status update even though I had specified when I dropped off my car on the 23rd that I needed my car back by 1 February. when I was promised my car on the 1st now possibly won't be until the 3rd!! This IS NOT a lot of damage that requires that much time to repair! **** UPDATE**** Now not only will I NOT have my car during super bowl Sunday so I can work I won't even have my car back until possibly Monday!!! Thanks for costing me $1,000 weekend due to your incompetence and not listening to how important clients vehicles are to them!!! read more
