I, of course, told her that I don't hear anything (wishful thinking on my part). So I take it in to Torrance Motors without an appointment and ask if they could take a quick look at it to verify it is still safe to drive, as we had a long upcoming trip in a few days. They right away put it up on the lift and verified that it was safe to drive. However, the control arm, tie rods and bushings (leaking grease) were shot. Showed me the pictures and it was a mess. This level of repair was not cheap...but it was reasonable. No more complaints from my wife...at least about the car.

The alignment was slightly off at first, but they told me to bring it back and got it dialed in perfectly the following day. They stand behind their work and even told me to come back if anything needed to be re-torqued after the suspension settled. The results came out great. The stance looks much better with the factory rake reduced, and the ride quality still feels smooth and OEM-like. No noises, vibrations, or issues afterward. The vehicle drives straight and handles great. Professional service, quality work, and solid communication throughout the process. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a clean leveling spacer install done right.

Recently, I needed to replace the evaporator core and expansion valve for my A/C, and the dealership quoted me almost twice what JAC did. Since it was such an expensive repair, I decided to give JAC a try, and I'm so glad I did. The first thing that impressed me was the size of the shop. They have multiple service bays, not just in the main area but in another section as well. More importantly, the customer service was outstanding. Whenever I called with a question, Kevin didn't have someone else relay the information--he got on the phone himself and kept me updated every step of the way. When the replacement part they received turned out to be defective, they handled it quickly and made it right without any hassle. Another thing I really appreciated was the complimentary rides to and from my home while my car was being repaired. Maria and Mario were both incredibly kind. Maria mentioned she had recently joined JAC after working as a parts driver for another company, and she had nothing but positive things to say about the people there, which spoke volumes to me. Then, over the weekend, while driving to Orange County and finally enjoying my cold A/C, I started hearing a strange wind noise coming from my convertible top. I thought maybe a seal had come loose, but when I got home and looked under the car, I discovered my engine splash shield had torn loose and was scraping the road. I called JAS right away, and they immediately contacted the parts department, ordered the replacement, and took care of it quickly. I want to thank the entire team. From Kevin, Roger, and Dan to Maria and Mario, everyone I dealt with was professional, honest, and genuinely helpful. It's hard to find a repair shop you can trust, but I can honestly say I trust JAC. They may not give your vehicle a courtesy wash before you leave, but if you're saving $$ is it really worth it? If you're looking for a great place to have your vehicle serviced, I highly recommend giving them a try.

Honest Herbert is honest. He doesn't do unnecessary repairs. For example, Once I had a rattle whenever I started the car. He found a rock in the exhaust pipe and removed it. Body work I recently took my car in for some body work, The cost of the repairs was less than I expected. The car came back looking like new and the paint matched perfectly. Beautiful! Herbert was a big help for me with getting my 2016 Honda accord touring fixed. I had taken it to…read moremultiple mechanics AND the dealer, and no one could tell me exactly what my issue was and just be straight with me. I had an emissions system issue that gave me the code 'P0139'. The first mechanic I took it to last year told me that it was a simple o2 sensor issue (rightfully so considering the code I was getting), yet when he replaced the sensor, the light continually came on. So he replaced it again, and replaced another o2 sensor on the vehicle (according to him). When none of that worked, he told me that my catalytic converter was faulty, and that I was going to have to pay roughly 8k for a new one. Safe to say I didn't believe him, nor did I stick around and simply take his word for it. I started making calls and, at first, genuinely believed that I was going to have to come up with the 8k by summer 2026 (when my smog inspection was due). I thought at one point I was sold a faulty vehicle too and even tried to receive compensation for the error. Turns out that wasn't the case, and even if it was, there wasn't much I could about it anymore. I took it to others who quoted me ridiculous prices for a simple diagnostic, I took it to others that just simply couldn't tell me what was wrong, and then to make things more confusing, the light would go on and off and would even go off long enough for me to pass smog!!! (Even though the first guy I went to said my catalytic converter was bad). Then, I looked online and found Master Tech. Great reviews, great location in the South Bay (Torrance), and fair pricing. Diagnostic was about 160, which would go toward repairs if needed, and if they couldn't find the issue I'd pay zero dollars! When I first got there, already Herbert pointed out things no mechanic pointed out before. I was told and under the impression that all my sensors were new and changed... they weren't. He also informed me that my vehicle was an American built one (not Japanese or Canadian, which I heard can make all the difference in quality). That's information that, although wasn't a huge concern, let me know that this guy paid attention to detail and really cared about what he was doing. He then told me to leave it with him later on in the week so he could give the vehicle TLC (tender love and care), and to be comfortable with not having my vehicle for a couple days (wasn't a problem at all). Eventually he gets back to me after a day and lets me know that the sensor had to be changed out with an oem one, as the previous mechanic put in an aftermarket one. On the day that I picked the car up and paid for the install, we both hopped in and took it for a ride, and the engine was running smooth like butter now. No more rich running (causing my gas to burn faster), and no more harsh shifting. He then hands me over the old sensor and informs me that I should go get my money back from the other mechanic. It turns out, the other guy was trying to screw me over (surprise, surprise!), whereas Herbert was honest and righteous. The piece the other mechanic put in was a Bosch sensor, made specifically for German made vehicles. Smh. It was for VOLKSWAGENS and the like ONLY. He was just trying to get me to pay him thousands, and perhaps allow me to further damage my engine and transmission from the issues he was forcing my vehicle to go thru for the time that it wasn't working properly due to a lazy, incompatible o2 sensor. I was relieved that I found Herbert who was able to help me and install the correct piece for a fair price (443 roughly, as opposed to the almost 700 dollars the dealer would've tried to charge me). I like his style, and he is definitely a righteous mechanic. Thank you bro!

I am going to talk about a perfect crime here. So one day when my husband didn't take his car to work, I took out his precious bmw for a joy ride. It was all fun and great before I parked the car inside our garage. I parked the car in too much, hit the shelf, and a metal tripod fell right on top of the hood where the crease or the line is at. DAMN! It was pretty bad. Although, I am pretty sure my husband loves me more than his car ( I think..), I was PETRIFIED. He has a lot of things on this mind right now ( work and family stuff) so this will just add SO MUCH more to his problems and I could just hear him frustratingly and sarcastically saying " Instead of helping, like making me breakfast for god's sake, you just had to add more stress, huh/?" Well, I started panicking and called body shops in south bay. A-One was one of many places I called and Peter told me to take pictures of the dent and scratches via email. Being a techie that I am, I was already liking this place a little more. Anyways, I still took the car to a few places in Gardena and Torrance area to get estimates. I didn't know this but there is apparently a HUB of auto body shops at Gardena/Torrance. Within 3 miles radius of Western/Artesia intersection, there seems to be a dozen of auto shops. I think I know where to take my car from now on. Anyways, I got quotes from 3 places before taking my car to A-One and it was the cheapest. Since this is a Beemer we are talking about, I still had to get the best service I can get so my husband doesn't find out. I talked to Peter in person and I could FEEL that he was the right guy. So I waited for two weeks until my husband went on a business trip. Because of his hectic schedule, he didn't notice the dent for TWO weeks. HAHAHAAH I was so anxious. My sister scratched her head and was surprised that he didn't notice for the whole time, saying it was very visible. As soon as he was gone, I took the car, it took 2 days to take out the whole hood, fix dents, paint it and gloss it. Peter told me there were other small bumps and dents on the hood and the mechanics had them fixed as well. When the car was done, I barely made it to LAX to pick up my husband. He innocently asked me, "why did you bring this car to the airport? I thought you didn't like driving it here." hahhaha To this day, he doesn't know what his PRRECIOUS went through while his papa wasn't home. hahahahaha I even created a new Yelp profile since my my original profile is already linked to my husband's. I trusted Peter with a brand new bmw and they did a superb job. I begged him to give the lowest because I only have very limited stash of cash that my husband doesn't know. I got the best price compared to other shops and I was very very pleased with the result. read more

This review is for both mechanic and body work: -I was recommended by a friend to come to A-One some time last year, and I've been here a couple times since then. The first time I came here, it was for a simple oil change. I can't remember how much it cost when I went, but it was definitely the cheapest I had found in the area. The employees who dealt with me and my car were super nice and accommodating. I was in and out within 30 minutes!! The waiting room was not a bad area to hang out for 30 minutes. There's a sofa, chairs, magazines, and a HUGE flat screen TV. -Unfortunately I had to come back a few months later with some body work. I was rear-ended and there was a huge crack in my car's back bumper. I brought it here, got a really good deal, and my car was fixed within a couple of days. I was surprised at how quickly they were able to give me my car back. The car came back spotless and there was absolutely no sign that I had been in an accident! -I told my friend about this place, and she came here when her car started making strange noises as she drove. They fixed the problem (don't remember what the problem was), once again very quickly, and she was really happy about it. -In conclusion, I highly recommend coming here for any car repair you need!!! They're really nice and I am definitely coming back the next time my car has problems! I regret to say that my experience with this establishment fell significantly short of expectations. I scheduled routine B5 maintenance for my perfectly functioning Mercedes Benz, as advised for every 20,000 miles. After retrieving my car post-service, all appeared well until approximately a week and a half later. While on the freeway, my car abruptly began shaking and resisted acceleration. I promptly returned to the shop. They held onto it for a full two days, only to report they couldn't pinpoint any issues. This was undeniably disheartening. Consequently, I sought a second opinion at the dealership, where they uncovered an oil leak and several other problems that were entirely absent before my visit to A1 Auto Center. Additionally, it's crucial to highlight the discrepancy in service hours billed by this establishment. Despite my car being in their care for 4 and a half hours, I was charged for a full 6 hours of service. BE VERY CAREFUL! read more

I arrived at A-One auto shop with references from friends and of coarse Yelp 5 Star rating. I first met with Keith and he was and has been VERY helpful to this day. Very Professional and sincere. Promised to have my vehicle (Rear-End damaged) fully repaired and color matched. He did not disappoint. I was always keep up to date on the repairs and any new info that came from the insurance company. When I came to pick up my vehicle, I was like, WOW! Just amazed on how perfect the repairs came out. I had an additional part (that was not damaged) that needed a little touch-up paint and Keith removed the part and had it painted to look like it was brand spanking new. Like I said from the beginning, very Professional, respectful and sincere throughout the process. I hope to download my pictures, before and after, so you can see the results. Great experience yesterday with A-ONE... for some reason my tail lights weren't working, I bought and replaced bulbs and sockets but evidently they needed to be to be installed with a bit more care. A great mechanic showed me what was up - I don't know if I can put names in here so I won't (I only saw the owner's name) - it was a slight adjustment to the way I put the bulb in the socket and screwed it in. He took a little time to explain and wouldn't take money for it. WOW! You hear about people getting ripped off in situations like this, where they make something up and charge you for it while you wait in the lobby but here they didn't!:-) It was my second time here and they treated me like family. read more

Honestly, Peter and Andy are the BEST mechanics in LA! They treat you right and take care of business. I've been told many times that being a 25-year-old woman trying to get her car fixed makes me like prey; however, A-One Auto Repair (on Western Ave.) treated me with outstanding customer service and HONESTY!! I'm from Atlanta and my parents are always concerned about me; but now they trust that my transportation will always be taken care of! Also, they work with AAA and that's how I found them! I was recommended to A-One Auto Center for a water pump replacement after the dealership tried to charge me an obscene amount of money. A friend told me to check out this shop, so I made an appointment and met Chris, the mechanic who worked on my car. Not only did he replace the water pump, but he also pointed out that my air filter needed to be changed something my previous dealership never addressed. When I picked up my car, Chris walked me through everything that was done and made sure I understood the work completed. Great service, fair pricing, and honest people. I have a fleet of vehicles and take all of them to A-One Auto. They are always straightforward about the price and allow me to bring my vans/trucks whenever it is convenient for me. Best of all the work is always done in a timely manner. They are flexible in terms of my needs as usually I need the vehicles back right away. The customer service is also excellent as working with Mr. Kwon is an absolute pleasure. I would highly recommend you take your vehicle here if you are having problems with it . I took my Camaro in with a seized engine and Peter went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of and found an amazing deal on a near brand new engine and on the labor. They told me two weeks work time and got it done in a week. Buying a new engine would've cost more than the total cost of what they charged me to get back up running, and not only that but they even got it the labor fees to equal out to less than the new engine. Easily the best Auto Shop I've been to, they're military friendly too. Peter really took care of me and my car. read more

I dealt with A-One Auto remotely to repair a non-drivable Honda that I had purchased damaged. I had a VERY good experience dealing with Mun, who was extremely accommodating and honest. They repaired the mechanical problem (replaced the rear axle) so the car was drivable, and did a super job at a very reasonable price. This could have been an opportunity in which many shops would have "stuck it to me" since I dealt with him via phone and email from Minnesota. I am very grateful to them! read more

This shop is so clean... waiting for my car to be finished was quite enjoyable since I got to catch up on my magazine reading in their office area. I came here the other day for an oil change and was there for only about 30 minutes! One of the quickest oil changes I've ever gotten. They even checked my tires for me. They noticed something wrong with one of my tires and fixed it for me... and didn't even charge me! How nice! read more

I had an okay experience at A-One Auto Center. The staff was friendly, but the service could've been quicker. I found a decent selection of cars, but some were overpriced. Overall, it's not bad, but I expected a little more. Would recommend giving it a shot if you're in the area! read more

I came here for an oil change and for a tire check up last month. It was quick and cheap. Much cheaper than other more well-known auto places, which I will not name. Quick and cheap is all I need for a good oil change! I am definitely coming back for every oil change I need. read more

I found the experience overall very pleasant and their team is very friendly. It's a small shop with a 1 car entrance so can be easy to miss if you aren't paying attention to your GPS. I wasn't aware of this ahead of time, but they specialize in European cars. I drive a Toyota so most likely will utilize an auto shop that focuses on Japanese cars in the future if there was anything more complex that needed to be diagnosed. I would refer someone to this place if they had an European car though!

I've had bad experiences with car repair shops, and these people restored my faith in honest mechanics. Recently I hit a really rough patch with both a car repair and my finances at the same time. Instead of just quoting me a price and moving on, they worked with me to find a solution that actually fit my situation. That kind of flexibility and understanding is rare. My first impression of this place was warm welcomed and genuine and they are not out to just hike up the price as a lot of shops do sadly to get as much money as they can from insurance claims rather then accepting truly both insurance and out the pocket. Short story, another driver turned into my car at a red light last minute without looking and hit my car. Nothing crazy but definitely noticeable on the front bumper. I agreed to get 3 estimates from 3 different place 1 place I have been to before and 2 others I never been before. I met Jeremiah and he was up front with a lot of information and just being real with me genially and I always appreciate that rather than adding unnecessary things to just make the prices higher as if they were trying to get as much as possible as a lot of places do with insurance companies. In my opinion the prices were fair and realistic and they will work with insurance and paying out the pocket customers. The turn around time of completion was very convenient for me but not expected. I rather always have the job done right of course first. The bumper was fixed perfectly and within a very good turnaround time so I did not need a rental or loaner car thankfully. The work was done very professionally and they were very nice and talkative with legit information on explaining everything with me. The communication was very open and made the whole experience easy and headache free. They have a lifetime warranty that backs their work for anything that worked on and fixed themselves. Also washed my car when my it was finished and ready for pick up. i believe on their website it shows any repairs etc. over $1000 a car wash will be included as well. I personally, had a great experience with my 1st time with Jeremiah and all of his team. I would highly recommend to at least meet Jeremiah and his team for an estimate and feel them out yourself. They installed the aftermarket catalytic converters quickly for an affordable price, and the whole process was smooth and hassle-free. When my check engine light was still on afterward, Kevin took the time to help diagnose it and suggested it might be a blown fuse for the O2 sensors. I later had it checked by a nearby mechanic, and it turned out to be exactly the issue. Overall, it was a great experience. Kevin was knowledgeable, honest, and easy to work with. After a thorough inspection, they identified a leak upstream of the catalytic converter and another downstream before the muffler. The muffler itself was completely compromised by rust and required replacement. I was quoted a very reasonable price for what was essentially a replacement of half the exhaust system, including new seals and gaskets. The work was completed in just a few hours, and the car is running significantly better. This shop is top-notch and clearly takes pride in their craftsmanship. I'll definitely be back--thanks guys!
