Took my car in because my key was stuck in the ignition. When I got it back the windows would not roll down, turn signals would not work for a lane change only a complete turn and the headlamp switch inside the car was backwards - on meant off and off meant on. When I took it back for correction the owner told me that the car was brought in like that which was a total LIE! My regular mechanic was able to fix everything and said that oftentimes the foot well module can be damaged if a mechanic jump starts the car or does some other action. Obviously, the mechanic made a mistake and then lied to the owner. That is super troublesome. Nobody should take their car to Dynamic Performance. It is NOT a good experience at all; it is scary. Firestone is next door and recommended the place. It was honestly the worst experience with a mechanic in my entire life. I thank God I have honest repair people in my life who know what they are doing. Dynamic was conveniently located but I paid a price for not taking my car to knowledgeable trustworthy humans. Been going here for a while off and on over the years when my BMWs were out of warranty. Today they tried to convince me I needed new brake pads which they replaced 6 months ago. They had forgotten. Dyanamic Performance is my neighborhood mechanic, and they have gone the extra mile for me in the past. Today all I needed was for someone to check the oil on my 14 y.o. 328i as I am driving out to the desert tomorrow. I called at 8:11 am to see if they could do that. They said yes, and to bring it over as they had a mechanic available. I live 5 minutes away, so I drove right over, and they got right on it. They checked everything for me - not just the oil. They checked the water level, tires and washer fluid as well. Didn't charge me a penny. I appreciate that kind of service! read more

I have a 2006 E500 that I take very good care of. Although there are always many cars on this lot that are as old or older than mine... every time that I take my car in for a repair now, I'm told that the repair is so pricey, that I should just consider getting another car. Since I'm very busy as a camera crane operator for a local television station, I don't have time to shop around for another shop, and this kind of treatment forces me to park my car in my driveway, until I have time to fix it myself. I've had to make time to change my front air struts, my alternator, my charcoal canister, and now my rear air bags. Mike told me: To change my rear air bags, and lower control arms would be around the $7000 mark. I bought 2 Arnott A2724 rear bags for $650 for the set, and it takes the average mechanic about 4 hours to complete the job with the right tools. I can also find a full set of lower control arms ANYWHERE for about $200, and a pro shop can complete both sides of the car in a couple of hours. (see pictures below) Is this rejection 'personal? Well, I feel dissed, and I believe that it is... but who can say for certain? One thing IS for certain however... This place is terribly unprofessional and dishonest. I called because they worked on my dad's Range Rover and was looking for a shop to work on a Lexus and Maseratti I own. When I was on the call with them, they gave me a quote and told me to bring the cars in. I started with the Lexus, which only needed an oil change, and as soon as I arrived, I was met by a very rude and vulgar man. He appeared angry and expressed his frustration to me for bringing the car in. Said they DIDN'T work on Lexus because they don't make any money. They would only work on it because his partner had agreed to. This same man later called and tried selling all of this other service (tune-up, tire rotation, several filters) which the car doesn't need for another 4,000 miles. He said that I needed to do this service so he could make some money off the job. I didn't authorize the service because it wasn't needed and I wasn't ready with that money. He sounded upset and said he'll regrettably work on the Lexus, but to NOT bring it again. I picked up the Lexus and dropped off my Maseratti for an oil change and breaks. They later called me, and again, they were trying to sell me service for things the car didn't need for another few thousand miles. I asked them to only do the oil change at this point because their quote for the breaks was even higher than the dealer's. They responded that it probably wasn't worth it for them to ONLY do the oil change, and will review the work and let me know if it was profitable. I had to call them a few hours later because they never got back to me. They confirmed that they wouldn't work on the car because it wasn't worth it. I now had to take another trip to the shop, taking time off from work and accepting this waste of time and VERY unprofessional, dishonest and rude treatment. The cherry on top, was when I picked up the car, the same rude guy said to me "thank god" because he didn't want to have my car there. THIS is NOT the only shop to service European and luxury vehicles in the area. I found a much better place where their service was great, professional, and didn't change their version of things once you drop off the car. Firstly, I did not expect you to be the "cheapest" shop in town. I knew you were not a "discount shop" but I did expect you to provide "highest value" for all necessary/legitimate repairs. My complaint was not about your pricing, it's about your up charging the oil change quote and your recommending the unnecessary brake job. Regarding the comment from Ken M. of Dynamic Performance, there are a few misstatements that need to be corrected. 1) You did not "misquote" the oil change over the phone. You "misquoted" the oil change in person. Mike saw the car. He knew it was a 2007 Maserati Quattroporte. He said it would cost me between $120 and $150 depending on the cost of the filter. 2) The brake pads that you removed were not substandard. They were top of the line Brembo (see photos). Do not trust Dynamic they lie & are very dishonest!! I just took my Mercedes to them for an inspection because I am selling it and they said "motor oil was filthy and that it shows not being changed regularly". I just had the oil changed 2 days ago and I do it religiously! So I went back to the place that changed my oil & told them what Dynamic had stated & my guy showed me that the oil was clean & clear. Also Dynamic said that my tires are 5 years old & should be replaced regrardless of wear, my mechanic said that is not true & they look fine. I also just looked it up on Consumer Reports and it states SUGGESTED every 6 years but definitely before 10 years! I would not trust this place!! Mr. Smart, (RIP) we called him "Senior" was the epitome of a rags to riches business owner. There was a period of time where we would dine together twice a month. I would get the back story of everything Mercedes Benz. I trusted Senior and the staff at Phil Smart Mercedes Benz for repairing my car. Although Dynamic Performance is not a Benz dealership repair facility. They run it like one! Everything by the book to exacting standards. I brought my 240 in and was describing the shimmy and squeal on my front brakes. Michael and his team quickly performed their diagnostic and came back with 3 imperative repairs. I know that I saved easily 35% off of the dealer's price for the same work. Mind you, any repair on a Benz or Bimmer is going to be pricey. The shop was very honest with me after completing the inspection and advised me of all the parts that would need to be repaired/replaced. In response to Ken's comment on my review, there are several inaccuracies in his statements. First, your shop did not tell me that you had made a mistake in the original quote. In fact, when I asked why the big price increase, I was told it was actually a different problem than you had first thought it was and that's why the price was higher. Second, you NEVER DISCOUNTED THE FINAL PRICE. Even when I said to you personally that I didn't think it was right that you were charging me more than you had originally quoted me, you just said you were sorry about that. My car had smoke coming out the A/C vent into the car. I was told I needed a new radiator, a hose, and more. I was charged 1,600. + Two and a half weeks later I'm on the freeway and the smoke started coming out of my vents again like from the beginning. The same reason I bought my car to them in the first place. I feel I was lied to and sold something, instead of fixing the problem I bought in the car for the first time. When I called Ben answered the phone and immediately he began to attack me verbally stating I shouldn't be blaming them for my problems. I was upset and devasted I'm on the freeway driving to work, not knowing if my engine is about to run hot. When I got to the shop Ben told me I would have to leave the car again so they could figure out the problem. He also stated that his customers had money to spend and I was different then their elite customers. Why because I work for a living ? This company originally wanted me to agree to additional repairs totaling over 3,500. I they got mad when I didn't agree to it. I'm glad I did not because of the way I was treated and insulted. Well... they robo-emailed me to "help with yelp" so here you go: As part of the first service, they replaced the ball joints and DIDN'T DO AN ALIGNMENT. The car was aligned before I took it there (I'd had new tires put on the back) and was pulling to left after the service. Took it to Firestone and it was way out of whack. They gave me an estimate of when the car would be done, then never called when it was finished. In total, I spent $877 OVER the retail price for parts on the 2 times I took it there for service. Pretty much the epitome of a bad mechanic cliché. This was my second time visiting them. I'd gone once before because I was looking for a minor fix and shopping locally. Wasn't particularly enthused to go back but I marked it up to just thinking about having to spend money on car maintenance. Dropped off car for a check engine light. After having the car for 2 days was told that it required work that was $500 more than the entire value of the car. "No way around it. These cars always need this around the mileage you have." And they would replace the wipers; I declined the wipers. Asked him to go through, part by part, labor hour by hour. When asked about the details, the names and parts of said details varied by as much as $500 each. Alarms start to go off. They recommended that they replace the spark plugs. I had done this personally less than 10k miles before. The response, "Hey Jimmy, pull one of those spark plugs. I want to look at them." Nothing that I'd brought the car in for was related to the electrical or engine performance. I declined the spark plug replacement. And they still wanted to replace the wipers; again, I declined the wipers. Call back to see if there were ways to reduce the costs. Not possible. We could not replace the wipers but the spark plugs still need to be redone. Ask for another break down of costs. Prices still all over the place. He includes the costs for wiper replacement. I decline the wiper replacement. So I ask for the car back. The check engine light was on but there wasn't any performance issues. Thought I would run the error code myself. Once I get the car back, I figured I'd call around town to see who might have better prices. Prices quoted over the phone are 30% of the quotes provided by Dynamic. Found another mechanic to do the work and he calls me 30 mins into the service: 1. None of the repairs that Dynamic recommended are needed. He wondered why I even asked about them. 2. Dynamic had cleared and deleted the history of the check engine light so no one can see what previous errors were recorded. Pure shady behavior. I can't recommend these guys at all. I had explained the diagnostics we already went through when calling to set up an appointment. We ran into a glitch in resolving the issue I called Dynamic to help. They were able to quickly diagnose and fix my friends car, and the price was VERY wallet friendly. Add to that the friendliness of their staff, and you've got a shop you can feel good about. I have a 10 year old Mercedez CLK 430 that has been neglected, but is still a great car. I've had the "basic" maintanence done regularly (oil/A&B Service, Tires, Brakes), enough to keep it running. But, on older cars, things start to wear out. My air conditioning had just stopped blowing cold air, but fan was working fine and I knew it needed engine mounts, as it had for a while and I was told by a couple different service places that they were completely bad. A very good friend says uses Dynamic Performance and he "trusts" them, and because I am a single femaie, I asked him to take my car there with me, since they know him and so they wouldnt really try and screw me and tell me things I didnt need. Well, it didnt help. I got my "list" of things my car needed and it totaled almost $4000 and they told me I needed so many things, so of which I had already had done. So, I took it to a place that came recommended by someone else, and tried to verify what exactly I needed (again, I asked them to give me a "list" of the things that we " absolutely necessary", as i could not afford to spend any extra, just needed it to be safe on the road. This is the part that is so disappointing. Among the things I needed "SWISS MOTORS" in Culver City, verified some of the things, and I asked them about other things I had recently had done at another repair shop and it turns out Dynamic had told me I needed the following things that were COMPLETELY UNTRUE: "Air Conditioning" blowing air, not cold anymore: Dynamic stated I needed to overhaul the entire A/C system, which required pulling the engine out to repair. Cost: $1,350.00 Swiss Motors stated I needed to "evacuate and recharge" the A/C system. $218.00 "Rear Brakes": I thought it was strange as I had just had them done not too long ago. Dynamic Performance said "Rear Pads and Rotors worn" $500.00. Swiss Motors verified I had 30+% on my rear brakes, 40% on my front brakes. "Front Brakes" See above. "Battery Weak/Low": Swiss Motors says the battery is in fine condition. Dynamic Performance quoted me $400.00 for a new battery. "Spark Plugs": Dynamic Performance said "your spark plugs are original". Funny, because I had all of the spark plugs (V8) replaced within the past 18 months, and I remember it well as there are a lot of them and they are not cheap!! Spark plugs dont go out that often, so I asked Swiss Motors to check. They said they are fine, and they were replaced from the originals because they are not the spark plugs Mercedez would normally use, so they had been replaced!! This place is a SHAM!!! Dont trust them! Its worth the drive to Culver City to get and honest and reliable service for your car. You will have hundreds or, in my case, thousands of dollars!! read more

I was having troubles with my Mercedes S430 that I recently bought from a separate mechanic. I brought my car here to get a second opinion on some problems I was having and they were exceedingly helpful. I believe they went above and beyond looking over my car and took the time to explain to me what I could fix now and what could wait and in a manner in which I could understand, not being skilled in this area. When I went to pick up my car, I explained to them the previous mechanic felt responsible for the problems and going to fix the problems. They then offered to look over his work when I got the car back and before I left offered me a car wash.
