There were massive drip marks in the finished product as well as a ton of over spray. In some spots it looked like they ran out of paint to finish it bc there is not enough paint covering and the coat is so thin ( like rattle can ). In one part it looks like 2 different colors were used , white and some yellowish color. Also we can still see some faint blue behind the white color.. He lied to us also. Had the truck delivered via AAA tow truck on June 23, 2017 he texted us on the 28th telling us it was ready. I asked him for a photo of the truck he said he didn't have one. So we live in Mission Viejo which is a 1.5 hour drive or 3 hour round trip. On June 29th the next day my friend went out to the shop on the basis that the truck was ready, we'll it wasn't to our surprise, Aaron had said that he had problems getting it in the paint booth and that it would be ready in 2 hrs time... it's a Friday no one was looking to stick around in the heat. Plus why did he say that it was ready the day before?????? Anyways the finished product was nightmare to the heart point where it needs to be Repainted AGAIN. We are looking to sell the truck so we are not expecting a well paint job. There goes 770 dollars down the drain. Horrible customer service that guy should be fired..

After working on the damages for 30 min, he actually made things noticeably worse. - The door was now two-toned and visibly off - There are new bumps and exposed drill holes in the plastic parts - There are drilled holes with screws jammed in, some completely open. - Worst of all the door is now misaligned with the car body He initially said he would come back to fix the damages, but after multiple attempts to schedule a time, I asked for a refund so I can have someone else properly fix the damages he had caused. He agreed to refund $300 which I NEVER received after MULTIPLE attempts of getting in touch with him. It's clear that this guy is dishonest and is actively scamming people.

Fernando let me know everything he was doing under the hood and was nice enough to explain to me the process of diagnosing AC issues. He was very transparent compared to what you get at an official dealership. He finished the work within an hour and quoted me at a fair and reasonable price compared to the Subaru dealership. Herbert was a big help for me with getting my 2016 Honda accord touring fixed. I had taken it to…read moremultiple mechanics AND the dealer, and no one could tell me exactly what my issue was and just be straight with me. I had an emissions system issue that gave me the code 'P0139'. The first mechanic I took it to last year told me that it was a simple o2 sensor issue (rightfully so considering the code I was getting), yet when he replaced the sensor, the light continually came on. So he replaced it again, and replaced another o2 sensor on the vehicle (according to him). When none of that worked, he told me that my catalytic converter was faulty, and that I was going to have to pay roughly 8k for a new one. Safe to say I didn't believe him, nor did I stick around and simply take his word for it. I started making calls and, at first, genuinely believed that I was going to have to come up with the 8k by summer 2026 (when my smog inspection was due). I thought at one point I was sold a faulty vehicle too and even tried to receive compensation for the error. Turns out that wasn't the case, and even if it was, there wasn't much I could about it anymore. I took it to others who quoted me ridiculous prices for a simple diagnostic, I took it to others that just simply couldn't tell me what was wrong, and then to make things more confusing, the light would go on and off and would even go off long enough for me to pass smog!!! (Even though the first guy I went to said my catalytic converter was bad). Then, I looked online and found Master Tech. Great reviews, great location in the South Bay (Torrance), and fair pricing. Diagnostic was about 160, which would go toward repairs if needed, and if they couldn't find the issue I'd pay zero dollars! When I first got there, already Herbert pointed out things no mechanic pointed out before. I was told and under the impression that all my sensors were new and changed... they weren't. He also informed me that my vehicle was an American built one (not Japanese or Canadian, which I heard can make all the difference in quality). That's information that, although wasn't a huge concern, let me know that this guy paid attention to detail and really cared about what he was doing. He then told me to leave it with him later on in the week so he could give the vehicle TLC (tender love and care), and to be comfortable with not having my vehicle for a couple days (wasn't a problem at all). Eventually he gets back to me after a day and lets me know that the sensor had to be changed out with an oem one, as the previous mechanic put in an aftermarket one. On the day that I picked the car up and paid for the install, we both hopped in and took it for a ride, and the engine was running smooth like butter now. No more rich running (causing my gas to burn faster), and no more harsh shifting. He then hands me over the old sensor and informs me that I should go get my money back from the other mechanic. It turns out, the other guy was trying to screw me over (surprise, surprise!), whereas Herbert was honest and righteous. The piece the other mechanic put in was a Bosch sensor, made specifically for German made vehicles. Smh. It was for VOLKSWAGENS and the like ONLY. He was just trying to get me to pay him thousands, and perhaps allow me to further damage my engine and transmission from the issues he was forcing my vehicle to go thru for the time that it wasn't working properly due to a lazy, incompatible o2 sensor. I was relieved that I found Herbert who was able to help me and install the correct piece for a fair price (443 roughly, as opposed to the almost 700 dollars the dealer would've tried to charge me). I like his style, and he is definitely a righteous mechanic. Thank you bro!

Jose is a true and honest professional, no monkey business at his shop. I've been taking my 2004 Toyota RAV4 for several years back when his dad ran the shop.my latest episode began 3 days ago when I took the car to Toyota dealership in Gardena because maintenance light was on and the service rep took the car back to the mechanics. After about thirty minutes he takes me to the car and pointed out to under the engine and says there is a leak in the rack and pinion and most important he said the timing chain cover needed to be resealed at the cost of $1900 and that did not include the leaking rack & pinion. I refused their service offer. I the dropped the car off with Jose and after washing down the engine found there was absolutely no leak from rack and pinion and no leak from timing cover. He replaced the valve cover gasket and the leaking has terminated. All for $180 ! read more

They do a great job communicating and telling you straight up what the issue is, and they kept me in the loop on progress through every step, which I really appreciated. They were upfront about costs and asked before doing any work, and they were not pushy about extra work like some other auto shops these days. Nothing like coming in for a smog check and having the mechanic try to sell you on five other things that are supposedly wrong. This team is upfront and will work with you on what's a must do now versus what can be held off for later. I brought my car in on a tow truck and they had a spot ready when we got there, and helped guide the driver right where it needed to go. They made quick work of the diagnostic and repair work, and again were 100% upfront on what was going on and what it would cost me. These days it's hard to find a shop willing to work on classic cars. A lot of mechanics now just want to plug in a cable and let a computer tell them what to fix. I also love that this is a generational, family-run shop. You don't see that much anymore, and I like supporting a local business like this. I'll admit I'm still learning the quirks of my classic car, and the team has been genuinely supportive about teaching me things along the way. I had an experience at another mechanic when I first inherited the car where the owner and his team gave me this shaming impression, like I was supposed to know everything my grandfather knew about it. It was intimidating, and it's exactly why I appreciate Liebsack & Son. I never got any of that here. On top of everything, they're great with my grandmother when she comes in for her smog check. She's had nothing but high praise for how they treat her. I'll be bringing all my cars here going forward for smog checks and repair work. I checked it 3 times before it went to his lil shop and so did my boyfriend and there was hardly any oil on the dipstick! He checks the oil in front of us and there's suddenly a generous amount on the dipstick and he claimed to not have touched it! We literally saw you all up under the hood Rick! Are you okay?? With your handkerchief in hand...like please...just...stop. I kept my composure still and let him make a case for me. He hauls up my Mustang and her starter was just hanging down from the car! I immediately ask what that's about and he's like "oh I wanted you to see it". It's covered in oil and looks horrible and I doubt it the brightest idea to be lifting my car up and down like his personal elevator with the starter hanging like that! Is this some secret horror reality show?? Am I being punked? Is he Ashton Kutcher in disguise? Like this is madness and it gets worse! So there's a bunch of oil all over the undercarriage dripping still! It only took 3 trips for them to finally say there's a rear main seal leak!! $1,500! I ask for an estimate on the starter and he said it's totally fine! how?? I'm literally fighting back tears and ask him why he didn't he listen to what me and my boyfriend said about this exact leak from day 1?? He then gets so defensive and condescending to me and my poor mother! He blamed my mom after I had to take a moment aside to not lose my sh**. He gets on my mom, "what did you say to her??" All aggressive. He literally watched me walk away from where the three of us were standing! Why would he ask her that when he was standing right there and I walked away? When did she have a chance to "say something" to me? At this point we both are feeling uncomfortable and honestly unsafe with how he was acting. Car had issues on my way home. Mind you Rick said my car is safe to drive! He also told my mom that he has lots of other customers who are driving around all the time with oil leaks! But are they asthmatics with serious health problems breathing in emissions that could cause long term damage to them, the public, and the environment? I truly hope not. That's so dangerous. Rick calls me as I'm driving home to say something about him talking to his tech about the undercarriage and I asked to clarify if it was cleaned off at all or not and he said no so I hung up on him. He kept calling me and I didn't answer, I just was so disturbed by all this. He then sends 2 texts that contradict each other and don't even make sense! He also says he doesn't know 100% if there a rear seal oil leak!!! The next morning then claims there is a leak! I'll attach these texts. He also called my boyfriend who has no ownership over my car that I own the title to! What do they call men who disrespect women and force their will on them by not respecting clear boundaries of not wanting to communicate when I hung up on him?? Rick will do anything to avoid taking accountability for ANYTHING, he shifts blame on to customers, is defensive, aggressive, dishonest, gaslights, and as you see in the texts plays the victim. Classic traits of a narcissist so he definitely will not be able to prioritize the well being of his own business by taking care of his customers. I wish I had read these reviews before taking my car here. I will be making more reviews anywhere I can to warn people and I will update this again after my car is thoroughly inspected by an actual expert this week and further action started being taken before my car even left Rick's shop. My bf and inspected the car after all that and he went and cleaned the fresh pools of oils all over the transmission and above the starter. For my specific vehicle, a brake vacuum pump is the number one cause for oil in the starter and rear main seal leak is the last our 4 main causes for that happening. He only cleaned where the oil STILL leaking would be their fault from a poor repair and the timeline of new symptoms match that as well. He lied repeatedly and so defensively about not seeing the oil in those areas I mentioned and he even cleaned that all up! Then lied about cleaning it up! My bf and I found a chunk of wood lodged in to the exact part he wanted to over charge me on! I sent him a picture of it too and he conveniently didn't acknowledge it. Was that because you get so bitter about reviews Rick? Did you want to cause my car to have problems and put my safety in danger? It's so apparent in your loooong review responses to any bit of criticism or dissatisfied customers, hearing the uncomfortable truths bothers you. Just not enough to actually change sadly.

Amsoil is one of the best synthetic oils you can get for your car. It costs a bit more. But it's…read morerated highly in motor oil tests. The problem is there are very few places that use it in oil changes. And I looked. I found South Bay Auto Care on the Amsoil website. It's near my work. I'm at the end of my engine break in on my new car and wanted to use Amsoil. I called them and they let me drop off the car to get the oil change. Not only did they do it quicker then they thought, the price was very similar to what i've paid at quick lube places for synthetic oil that was not as good as Amsoil.. The mechanics here feel honest and they did a good job for me. This will be my oil place. I'll try them for other things I need that aren't covered by the warranty too. Very positive experience.
