This is the type of shop they used to have in the past when honesty was the best policy. Tony explained everything that needed to be done, gave an accurate price range and had it done sooner than expected. After my transmission was replaced he explained in detail what had happened to it, sending photos and allowing me to take one of the used parts to show what had occurred. His staff were also friendly. He even referred me to someone to have some detailing done at a later time. This is a company you can trust to do the best possible job for a reasonable price. Hi-Tek is a great example of the type of company with which I truly enjoy doing business. read more

Hi-Tek Auto Service - Auto Repair Near Me - El Segundo, California

They left a screwdriver and pliers in my hood and a belt started squeaking after they replaced it

My car & I love this mechanic place. I have been coming here for over 22yrs. The owner & mechanics are wonderful & honest people. I have brought in all my family & friends cars here. What I love about this place is that they are very detailed in explaining the problem & they also always show you your old parts, why it was needed to be replaced, but before the work is done, Tony always inspects the vehicles really good & always lets us know what is the problem & what needs 2 be done, he also gives us an estimate of how much it will be, & once we ok for the job to get done then he starts on it right away. The office is really clean & they have excellent customer service. I highly recommend this place. read more

Tony and his co-worker fixed all four brakes on my Lexus RX for a reasonable price and very quickly. He did not try to up-sell me on other services as I have experienced with many auto repair places in the past. He was very friendly and professional. After dropping off my car in the morning, Tony called me with an explanation of what needed to be done and how much the cost would be. I was able to pick up my car that evening. I will be contacting them to work on my husbands car very soon! Thank you Hi Tek Auto for great service! read more

I think I spoke too soon about Hi Tek... I called and asked if they can repair my AC in my car and Tony said that to bring it in and they'd look at it free of charge. I take my car in and when I pick it up later the afternoon they hit me with a $200+ bill... I was a bit perplexed because we had agreed all they'd do was take a look "free of charge" anyway I drive away thinking if it's fixed then fine. [fast forward] So I go on a road trip to SJC and the AC doesn't work, I call Hi Tek and they tell me that they refilled the freon and replaced some caps and stuff but didn't have the equipment to do an analysis and I should take it to a mechanic who specializes in AC. So... they said they'd take a look at my car free of charge (which they didn't do) and fixed my AC which is still broken. Now I gotta waste my time and money by taking my car to another shop that has the tools to analyze and fix my car. I'm pretty frustrated. I think Tony is fine for transmission work but I say take your car some place else for specialized work. So annoyed. read more

I don't even know where to start, because Tony & Luis are by far, the best hands down. Not only are they great auto technicians, but they are some of the best people you will ever meet as well. I would never take my car anywhere else. NEVER, PERIOD! Many years ago, I had taken a sebring convertible to a Chrysler "specialist:.. who advised me i needed a new transmission at a cost of $2500. I took my car to Hi Tek for a second opinion, Tony and Luis found it was a wiring problem, and got me back on the road for $80 that car ran for another 4 years before it need transmission work. Since then, I have taken any car I've owned to Hi Tek, and recommended them to many friends. Tony is always Honest, and upfront, and has always gone out of his way to try to help. They have stayed late, after closing, so I could pick up my car, they always finds the best price on parts, and their rates are always more than fair. A Honest, reliable, auto repair shop with integrity and compassion is hard to find, and worth it's weight in gold. These guys are amazing, and this is one of the best, local businesses with personal service and integrity that you will ever encounter . read more

I've known Tony for about 20 years and there's no other like him. Honest mechanics are rare and this guy is one of them. I always feel taken care of and if my car doesn't need something he will says so. As a women it's nice to know you are not getting overcharged because that, unfortunately, can be a problem these days. read more

Hands down the worst place for transmission service. They were working on the vehicle and then when I dared questioned the pricing they keep it for three days pretending to work on it and then handed it back to me WITHOUT the repair or apology. Tony has THE WORST business integrity wise I have ever dealt with. If there was a way to give zero stars I would. read more

What a great transmission shop! We were on the verge of buying a whole new Honda due to a clunking tranny that belonged to my mother-in-law. Then we got a tip from a nice mechanic at Pep Boys about this guy Tony. What a great find! Tony and his transmission expert, who he feels is just like a son since he took him in many years ago and taught him everything about the trade, did a fantastic job of rebuilding a 1999 Honda Accord tranny. They even showed us all the worn little gears, sprockets, and gaskets that were replaced. Modesti's quoted 4 - 6K to repair her transmission and these guys came in at half that! Plus it included two new axles, boots, new oil pan gasket. It's very welcoming Father and "like a son" operation with super high standards. They even have you bring the car back in a month after surgery for free to make sure the new transmission is still calibrated perfectly. read more

Hi Tek is a great place to bring your car in. They are transmission specialists but they also do practically every other kind of auto repair. Tony is the owner and he is a very honest mechanic. He has never ripped me off or requested unnecessary repairs on my car. I used to work next to Hi Tek and have been taking my car there for years. I highly recommend this place. Honest mechanic and low prices!!! read more

I'm happy to add a great review after my first trip to see Tony. Polite, honest, thorough and charming. But of course the main thing with a mechanic is to feel a good job was done for a good price and I completely trust this man. Thanks, Tony!!! My baby car is running really well now. read more

Tony from hi-tech came to jump us a couple blocks away when our car ran out of juice... Free of charge!!

Hi Tek Auto specializes in transmission repair, but I've had them make other repairs as well. Tony is AWESOME when it comes to his interaction with the customer, as well as his knowledge about how to completely repair the problem for the lowest possible cost. He has connections that other shop managers don't seem to have...he can get quality parts for dirt cheap! I've had them fix several MAJOR transmission problems and they were significantly less expensive than what I was quoted elsewhere. All of the work is performed in-house, so there isn't a concern about fixing a problem if one should pop up. Highly recommended if you need any automotive work done! read more

A great place with really nice and competent people. Beside doing great work on transmission they also can tackle a lot more with the same attitude. Once you go there you will return time and time again. Hands on to Tony, Luis and the kid. Keep on the good work. read more
