    Front air strut replacements

I have a 2006 E500 that I take very good care of. Although there are always many cars on this lot that are as old or older than mine... every time that I take my car in for a repair now, I'm told that the repair is so pricey, that I should just consider getting another car. Since I'm very busy as a camera crane operator for a local television station, I don't have time to shop around for another shop, and this kind of treatment forces me to park my car in my driveway, until I have time to fix it myself. I've had to make time to change my front air struts, my alternator, my charcoal canister, and now my rear air bags. Mike told me: To change my rear air bags, and lower control arms would be around the $7000 mark. I bought 2 Arnott A2724 rear bags for $650 for the set, and it takes the average mechanic about 4 hours to complete the job with the right tools. I can also find a full set of lower control arms ANYWHERE for about $200, and a pro shop can complete both sides of the car in a couple of hours. (see pictures below) Is this rejection 'personal? Well, I feel dissed, and I believe that it is... but who can say for certain? One thing IS for certain however... I'll NEVER set foot back on this lot for EITHER of my Benz's, to be treated like: "We think that you can't afford the repairs for your car, so We'd Rather Not Help You" *: (

Firstly, I did not expect you to be the "cheapest" shop in town. I knew you were not a "discount shop" but I did expect you to provide "highest value" for all necessary/legitimate repairs. My complaint was not about your pricing, it's about your up charging the oil change quote and your recommending the unnecessary brake job. Regarding the comment from Ken M. of Dynamic Performance, there are a few misstatements that need to be corrected. 1) You did not "misquote" the oil change over the phone. You "misquoted" the oil change in person. Mike saw the car. He knew it was a 2007 Maserati Quattroporte. He said it would cost me between $120 and $150 depending on the cost of the filter. 2) The brake pads that you removed were not substandard. They were top of the line Brembo (see photos). The photos also show that the pads had a lot more than 30% and 50% remaining. 3) I did give Mike verbal approval for all work when he called to say my brakes needed replacing but we did not discuss oil change or brake pricing. https://s3-media3.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/HKjigUXjVqfRDVk5K2c-8Q/168s.jpg https://s3-media2.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/UL_AFV9AHM9gZU4rdUImEQ/168s.jpg FYI....I am also an executive/professional and am part of the "Beach Cities community" who expects quality work at reasonable prices. Also, I am familiar with your history in the community. I remember when you opened your business. We brought our Mercedes to you for servicing 30 years ago. My wife loved bringing our car there. We were always happy with the service you provided. That's why I stopped in with my Maserati to see if you could do the oil change. This will be my last response regarding this unpleasant subject!!!

Dipstick does show clean or dirty oil!

Do not trust Dynamic they lie & are very dishonest!! I just took my Mercedes to them for an inspection because I am selling it and they said "motor oil was filthy and that it shows not being changed regularly". I just had the oil changed 2 days ago and I do it religiously! So I went back to the place that changed my oil & told them what Dynamic had stated & my guy showed me that the oil was clean & clear. Also Dynamic said that my tires are 5 years old & should be replaced regrardless of wear, my mechanic said that is not true & they look fine. I also just looked it up on Consumer Reports and it states SUGGESTED every 6 years but definitely before 10 years! I would not trust this place!! Read the reviews, reviews don't lie like they do!!

Ben is an awesome mechanic and an even better person! I come here half for the car repairs and half for the great conversations. Definitely the smartest mechanic you'll ever meet and a nice person too!

I want this chair for my office!

I had taken it to…read moremultiple mechanics AND the dealer, and no one could tell me exactly what my issue was and just be straight with me. I had an emissions system issue that gave me the code 'P0139'. The first mechanic I took it to last year told me that it was a simple o2 sensor issue (rightfully so considering the code I was getting), yet when he replaced the sensor, the light continually came on. So he replaced it again, and replaced another o2 sensor on the vehicle (according to him). When none of that worked, he told me that my catalytic converter was faulty, and that I was going to have to pay roughly 8k for a new one. Safe to say I didn't believe him, nor did I stick around and simply take his word for it. I started making calls and, at first, genuinely believed that I was going to have to come up with the 8k by summer 2026 (when my smog inspection was due). I thought at one point I was sold a faulty vehicle too and even tried to receive compensation for the error. Turns out that wasn't the case, and even if it was, there wasn't much I could about it anymore. I took it to others who quoted me ridiculous prices for a simple diagnostic, I took it to others that just simply couldn't tell me what was wrong, and then to make things more confusing, the light would go on and off and would even go off long enough for me to pass smog!!! (Even though the first guy I went to said my catalytic converter was bad). Then, I looked online and found Master Tech. Great reviews, great location in the South Bay (Torrance), and fair pricing. Diagnostic was about 160, which would go toward repairs if needed, and if they couldn't find the issue I'd pay zero dollars! When I first got there, already Herbert pointed out things no mechanic pointed out before. I was told and under the impression that all my sensors were new and changed... they weren't. He also informed me that my vehicle was an American built one (not Japanese or Canadian, which I heard can make all the difference in quality). That's information that, although wasn't a huge concern, let me know that this guy paid attention to detail and really cared about what he was doing. He then told me to leave it with him later on in the week so he could give the vehicle TLC (tender love and care), and to be comfortable with not having my vehicle for a couple days (wasn't a problem at all). Eventually he gets back to me after a day and lets me know that the sensor had to be changed out with an oem one, as the previous mechanic put in an aftermarket one. On the day that I picked the car up and paid for the install, we both hopped in and took it for a ride, and the engine was running smooth like butter now. No more rich running (causing my gas to burn faster), and no more harsh shifting. He then hands me over the old sensor and informs me that I should go get my money back from the other mechanic. It turns out, the other guy was trying to screw me over (surprise, surprise!), whereas Herbert was honest and righteous. The piece the other mechanic put in was a Bosch sensor, made specifically for German made vehicles. Smh. It was for VOLKSWAGENS and the like ONLY. He was just trying to get me to pay him thousands, and perhaps allow me to further damage my engine and transmission from the issues he was forcing my vehicle to go thru for the time that it wasn't working properly due to a lazy, incompatible o2 sensor. I was relieved that I found Herbert who was able to help me and install the correct piece for a fair price (443 roughly, as opposed to the almost 700 dollars the dealer would've tried to charge me). I like his style, and he is definitely a righteous mechanic. Thank you bro!

Pittstop replaced the tire within 30 minutes of me dropping off my car but forgot that I had requested a tire rotation. Upon reminding them that I ordered a tire rotation, they completed that within an hour. As part of their tire rotation service, they filled the air of each tire. Within 30 minutes of driving away, my car detected that the psi (air pressure) for one of my tires was low and decreasing incrementally. I parked my car to attend an event for an hour and assumed that the psi reading was just a system error that would reset once I restarted my car. Upon restarting my car, the psi was lower and at a dangerous level (my car screen had a warning message advising me to park my car). I called Pittstop letting them know about this problem, that I could hear air leaking from one of the tires, and that I'm on my way back to the shop. In the 15-mile ride back to Pittstop, I had to stop at 2 gas stations to fill air in the tire for fear that it would fully deflate as I was driving the road. It was extremely dangerous and unnecessarily stressful. Upon arriving, they inspected the tire and realized that the pin for the tire was broken. I asked one of their mechanics how it was broken and they just said, "it just happens.... who knows?" They didn't accept any responsibility for failing to hear that air was leaking from that tire (which was obvious as soon as you removed the plastic cap) or checking whether the pin was broken or not. These are simple post-repair diagnostics a mechanic should do to protect the safety of their customers. I am extremely disappointed in my experience here -- particularly given how dangerous the situation could have been if I did not have a car that had technology to warn me when air pressure is dangerously low.

Not these guys. The team at Globe Tire handled everything flawlessly. They fixed all four tires, repaired the axle (which is no small task on a Land Rover), and went the extra mile by using balancing beads to ensure everything was riding smooth and properly balanced. They also dialed in the alignment perfectly--my car honestly drives better now than it has in years. What really stood out, though, was the customer service. Everyone there was incredibly friendly, honest, and easy to talk to. They kept me in the loop the entire time with clear communication, no surprises, and zero pressure.
