My dumbass had an embarrassing moment, never thought I'd be victim to the dreaded gas station pole. Alas, I'm here leaving this review. It took some time for me to decide if I should get this taken care of. After getting estimates from the best body shops in my vicinity (Torrance), I realized it's best to utilize insurance. After looking at my options, I decided on privilege auto body initially due to how close it was to my home. Marcos was the appraiser I dealt with, and was very helpful every step of the way. He gave me options and what was recommended based on my needs. Being yeah this is my truck I decided to fix everything the right way especially since I will be filing a claim. The shop sourced two replacement doors and even turned down one that was not up to their quality standards. They also allowed me to hold the truck until they were ready to start, which was important because the truck was still drivable and I chose to not use a rental. Any changes in the estimate was communicated both to me and my insurance (insurance low balled me for the 'not so great' solution by using bondo instead of replacing the door altogether). And in no time, the truck was done. I was called and we scheduled pick up. Now for the cost. The shop was very competitive and their work was top quality. No complaints on the final product, very happy! The truck came out cleaner than when it came in. I've used body shops in the past for previous vehicles and the shops didn't even bother detailing/washing it prior to returning it to me. That level of detail is something you remember. Best shop in the South Bay! Marcos took in my RAM to replace the back passenger side door. He took it upon himself to buff out the scratches on the front fender and minor dent in the front passenger door. He is very welcoming and professional and can see why there are many other 5 star reviews. He had the truck washed and polished before he called me to let me know it was ready. Upon picking it up he asked me to bring it back after the rain stops so they can touch up any spots they may need it. I just dropped it off this morning and in about 2.5 hours the truck was ready with ANOTHER exterior and interior wash! Talk about great customer service. I don't hand out 5-star ratings like Halloween candy but Marcos and his team at Privilege Auto Body & Paint have easily earned a 5-star rating from me for the work they have done on my cars. I have dealt with Privilege on three occasions: once for collision repair/painting, once for handling an insurance claim for a totaled vehicle and, most recently, for repainting my '98 SUV. I had this vehicle painted previously at a lower-cost place but the workmanship was poor and the cheap paint they used broke down quickly. On the other hand, Privilege Auto Body & Paint has consistently done excellent work for me at a fair price with customer service that has always exceeded my expectations. My truck now looks great. Summary: Marcos and his team are awesome. He is very proactive and communicative, the prices are very reasonable, and the quality of their work is solid (they were the most affordable option, but nothing in the results felt sacrificed as a result). Definitely recommended for auto body needs. My wife's car was damaged one day and we ended up needing to replace her bumper. We got a couple of quotes and Marcos's quote was the best. The other shop said that calibration for the rear sensors would be necessary as well as some other tasks, but Marcos explained why that shouldn't be necessary as long as the new bumper was properly connected and passed diagnostics. The other shop also quoted needing to drop off the car for a week, whereas Marcos said he could do it in a few hours after they got the part and painted it in advance. He was logical, straightforward, and clear. Nothing seemed confusing or shady. Just pragmatic. We did have to wait a little longer than expected to have the bumper installed because the initial bumper that they received from the dealership was defective, and he wouldn't accept that from them (so he called to let us know that he was working through getting the run-around himself, and kept us posted about when he had the new part, was satisfied with it, and had it painted). I'll note that his shop is only half covered with a roof, which means if it is raining (like it has been A LOT recently) it will impact their ability to work with many cars in parallel. He was also dealing with some family medical issues throughout the week, and so his niece Alex helped fill in and acted as an excellent liaison and kept us in the loop on his behalf.
