This body shop was recommended by our mechanic and I'm thankful I came here. Every employee was very helpful and polite, which is rare these days. All the work was explained to me thoroughly. My advisor gave me multiple options on how to fix my car depending on the severity of unseen damage behind the bumper. They kept me informed of the damage found and advised me of my best options. Finally they finished a day earlier than noted and they washed my car very nice. Looking online at comparable repairs at local shops, Western Auto Body was lower than the others. Frank apparently no longer works there. Was years ago when I came here but frank was awesome. Came in to get an estimate and this A-hole named Sam quickly told me no to what I needed done and rushed me out of the lobby. I'll never return here. Btw they only do insurance jobs. Not the type of body shop that does ANYTHING custom (even though all I had was oem accessory pieces) He said "it would take too much of their time" LOL! My truck got rear ended and although there was not much damage done (thanks to my tow hitch) I still wanted to report to my insurance. My insurance gave me options where to take my truck for repair and I ended up choosing Western Auto Body based on reviews. When I got in the office, I was greeted by Sam who eventually became the person that helped me through the process of getting my truck repaired/inspected. I had concerns about the integrity of the frame after I got rear ended so I made sure to mention it to Sam. Sam went outside to check my truck and found some scratches and some bumps in the rear bumper. He suggested that it gets replaced to which I agreed (thanks insurance). He told me it should take a week or two for the parts to get delivered which I didn't mind because I know of all the delays happening with car parts. Anyway, the day I took my truck, they quoted me 3 days to which they executed in a timely manner. During the day of picking up my truck, Sam mentioned that there is going to be a 2 hour delay from our agreed pick up time. This is because of some imperfections that he saw on the paint and he wanted his folks to perfect and match the oem color. I respected that and I actually appreciated the attention to detail. When I picked up truck, it look like nothing happened in the rear bumper and they fixed the sag in the bumper. Really great work. On top of that, they even provided me with a courtesy wash. I can recommend Western Auto Body; I requested bids from 3 local body shops to repair a small dent in my front bumper in February '24; Francisco A. at WAB gave me the lowest estimate and told me the repair could be done in 4-5 days. [Review #420] 2018 Yelp 100 Challenge (71/100) My husband's car got damaged (rear-ended) at the local middle school by a parent. Luckily, he was on his way back to his car & witnessed the accident; he wasn't sure if the driver was honest enough to leave a note if he wasn't at the scene (it didn't seem like the driver was going to pull over, more like he was pulling away). :-X Since my husband walked up to the driver & asked if he bumped his car, the driver was somewhat reluctant in providing insurance & CA D/L info & asked if he could settle the damage without insurance. My husband went to our insurance that recommended a few body shops that they use (in case this guy ducks out), & provided 3 to the driver to choose from. He picked Western Auto Body, which offered the lowest quote. We dealt with Frank & discussed the repairs. He seems knowledgeable & a bit of car sales-ish. Our Mazda 3 would be repaired in a couple of days (3 days), but it wasn't ready on said date & would be ready the following day. Not a big deal since we called, though that would be annoying for time wasted if we didn't call & just showed up, only to find the car still in repair. :-| It would have been nice if they made an effort to notify us if they couldn't meet their deadline. The mechanic did an excellent job of fixing the bumper & rear driver's side! I'm assuming it got painted because there were chips on the paint job when we brought it in; the fix matches the rest of the body that you would know the car was previously damaged. There were also some minor dents by rocks on the road, & these bumps were also fixed. :-O We were running close to closing time for the pick-up, & WAB said they would wait for us, which was a nice gesture. The process in picking up the car was about 20-mins., pretty straightforward & easy. The floors were vacuumed & covered with paper mats; however, I didn't like the freshener they added to the car; I'm slightly sensitive to certain odors & this was quite pungent though my husband & our son liked it, me & our daughter.... not so much. We avoided using his car for family trips until the odor dissipated. Thank you for the fairly seamless process & the awesome repair job! I'm not sure how competitive their rates are since we don't usually use body shops (& this is covered by the other driver), but Western Auto Body was one of the referrals by our insurance company. They occupy a good amount of space & seems quite busy with several cars on lifts, awaiting repairs. The shop itself is fairy clean & organized, considering it's a body shop. There's a few parking spaces for their customers just inside the lot, most of the real estate is for repair work. My rear-ended, 2007 'vert was rejected for repair by insurance-recommended Fix-Auto/Jim/Jack's Auto in El Segundo--too old; couldn't get parts in easily, would take months, etc., etc. So insurance totaled it, I kept it for salvage, and took it to Western Auto Body in Gardena for repairs. They people were magnificent. Marc took an immediate interest in the car. The owner Sam came out to take a look, reassuring me that they could indeed fix it, smashed-in rear bumper, dislocated, raised-up trunk, and all. They looked at it right then and wrote up an estimate, which turned out to be almost exactly the final cost. Instead of the months that Fix Auto/J & J's El Segundo told me it would take to fix with factory parts, W. Auto Body had it finished in about two weeks with their reshaping/repair/replacement processes. She looks like new! It was a great experience. I highly recommend them. read more

Western Auto Body is definitely my go to body shop. The owner Eric is a real down to earth guy that is a real professional, and really knows what he is talking about. Over the years I have referred family and friends to Western Auto Body and every time the cars come out looking like they had just drove off the dealer lot. If your wondering where dealers like Honda, Toyota, and Lexus take their cars when they get in minor/major fender benders you will see them here at Western Auto Body since they have a contract with these large corporation. My sister was in a collision with her 2002 Honda accord V6 which had major front end damage and it only took less than a week and a half to fix everything and look like new again. The paint matched the rest of the car perfectly and he also took out a bunch of miscellaneous dents around the car while he was at it. The process from start to finish took a week and a half. A second car that I referred was a friends 1996 Honda Prelude which also sustained major front end damage. Again the car was already at least 10+ years old already but after the repairs the whole front end looked 100 times better than before the accident. The real amazing part was that the paint matched perfectly. They even detailed the back half of the car to bring back the life of the original paint. Just recently I brought a carbon fiber trunk that I wanted custom painted to match the original stock Aspen White Subaru paint of my WRX STI. Eric had one of his staff bring out a color matching device which he said cost 15k dollars and placed it on the C-pillar of the car. The device took an image sample of the original paint and they color matched my trunk to perfection. The trunk came out perfect and looked like it came out from the factory. I even requested to have the lip of the trunk left unpainted so that the raw carbon could be seen through the clear coat. After the trunk was painted Eric had me bring back the car with the trunk installed and he had his staff color sand the trunk to perfection. His staff even washed my car for me which they really didn't have to do. The whole paint process only took three days from when I dropped off the trunk. Finding a really trustworthy auto body shop is very difficult these days and can be very time consuming and stressful but once you find one that you can trust it really makes the whole process more pleasant. With paint and body work price can come into play but when it comes to great paint jobs you get what you paid for. read more

I've been coming here since the early 90's as my parents used this body shop originally and then i fought out it was owned by a friends family. They've worked on every car I've owned and anytime my significant others have gotten into accidents I've had them come here, as well as my parents and brother. Typically I deal with any of the Writers and Eric the owner, each of the staff is professional and easy to deal with Eric is the most direct of the staff to deal with and whom you talk to if you need any special work done or a favor. Sam speaks spanish and whom you'd deal with you if you need a Spanish speaking service advisor. Frank speaks Japanese and is whom a lot of the Japanese community talks too. I deal with their body guy Oscar the most and I typically request him as he's been working on all my cars since 2003. But any of the body men are good. And the Paint match is excellent they're a dupont shop currently and they have all the latest paint matching gear and a heated paint booth. What i like the most is its no hassle with them to get it done right, they like any body shop sometimes get it wrong or a little off, but the re-do or rectification price is baked into the price they charge you so it's never a hassle to get it 100% how you like it. Overall it's the place i recommend everyone, it's not the cheapest place or the super fancy place but it works out really well there and stuff doesn't just sit for long periods which is my pet peeve with body shops. read more

I've always been impressed with their work. I started going to this shop on the advice of my manager at work. I had the misfortune of being sideswiped in my old car and rear-ended in my new car, all within about 8 months time. Frank is responsive and courteous. He helped me with OEM parts each time, and kept me appraised of the status on my claim. Unfortunately, I have to deduct a star as they insist on using air fresheners that smell like urinal cakes as part of their reconditioning process. They apply these to every car, including my 11,000 mile Accord. My car smelled like it was new when I dropped it off. Now, it smells like a bathroom. I called them and even appeared in person to ask them to remedy this, each time I was brushed off like this was my issue and not theirs. This tells me they have no interest in doing anything about it. While I have removed the urinal cake squares from the doors, it still smells like this when I turn on the AC. It's also in the vents. Western Auto Body, where else did you put them?!? The only thing I care about is the bodywork. Focus on your strengths, and keep doing a good job. Stop ruining an otherwise good experience by doing something nobody asked for. read more

So my car was stolen not major damage they had it for over 2 plus months they told me it was going to be done one day then pushed it back to another day then I called that day then they continued to push it back a couple weeks go by I call because they said they were going ti call me but never did so I called he said it's going to be done that day and he will call me to let me know never did so the next day I called like ten times didn't answer I can tell they were avoiding me so I had my girl friend to call and they answered the first call now I'm waiting to see if they really call back this time read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. Very unprofessional and even worse customer service. Brought my car on Jan. 5 due to front damage from a car accident. ETC was a month because they needed to order a part that deployed airbags. Call in a month to check up progress, I'm told car is repainted and basically all fixed, just waiting on that part for the airbag because it's backordered. February passes by and give a call in March and they're still waiting for the part. April, same story but this time give an ETC of May 8, on May 8 they call and change date of completion to June 8. On June 8 i call and they say car part arrived but super busy so might get it done today might not. I'm told by Monday it'll be done. Give them the weekend to work on it and call Monday and they say YUP! Your car will be done by end of day 4pm and so i take time off work and on my way there i get a call from them and they switch time to 4:45. Upon my arrival AND waiting an extra half hour they tell me my car will not be released to me because they found a crack/leak on the radiator and need to order a part and do not know ETA of said part and then proceed to gaslight me and tell me that i would have not wasted my time if i would have not been so impatient. If they would have inspected my car upon arrival 6 MONTHS AGO perhaps their team of "mechanics" would have caught that issue considering the radiator is located in the front, where my car was damaged. IDIOTS!!! Save yourself the money you'll surely be paying for rentals and go some where else. Sam Velador and his team need to do better. I will be working with insurance to make sure they no longer recommend this place to any of their clients. read more
