Exceptional Service at Caliber Collision! I recently had professional body work done on my 2021 Toyota Camry XSE, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. A huge shoutout to Mike Ashcraft at Caliber Collision for providing outstanding customer service from start to finish. What impressed me most was how Mike kept me updated throughout the entire process without me having to call for updates. He was always responsive, answered every question I had, and made sure I felt informed and comfortable every step of the way. When I picked up my car, Mike took the time to thoroughly explain all the work that had been completed, which I truly appreciated. And to top it all off, they even cleaned the inside of my car! That extra attention to detail did not go unnoticed. My Camry looks fantastic, and the level of professionalism, communication, and customer care I received was simply superb. If you're looking for a collision repair shop that truly values its customers, I highly recommend Mike Ashcraft and the team at Caliber Collision in Gainesville. Superb service from beginning to end! Thank you for taking such great care of me and my vehicle! read more

I made an appointment on their website and received a confirmation. They called me after hours to say their website is not accurate and they were already overbooked. Why even have a website that doesn't work? At least the rep who called me knows and acknowledged the website is garbage. What a horrible first impression. There are plenty of body shops in the area to choose from. read more

Referred by insurance and scheduled for a Friday appt, on Monday. Business called me after 5:30pm on Thursday, less than 24 hours out from my appt and 3 full days after I made the appt, to tell me they were full and I didn't have an appt. Was that only made clear after closing the day prior to the appt? The rep was thoughtful enough to recommend the location down the street, which was already closed. read more

HUGE REGRET GIVING THIS BUSINESS A SECOND CHANCE!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LACK OF CARE TAKEN ON YOUR CAR. The day I dropped off my car, waited an unnecessary hour to be picked up by Enterprise only to find out from enterprise that no one at Caliber Collision called for them until 5 mins before I was picked up. Found that out from the Enterprise staff. Extremely dissapointing. I was clearly seen waiting to be helped at the front desk but the front desk staff member looked at me and just walked away. She came back minutes later to her desk then finally decided to ask me if I've been help. I brushed it off but what truly upset me is the fact that she forgot to call enterprise until I had to get her attention asking how long left enterprise will be until they come. She goes and tells me they just left 5 minutes ago when truly she had just rung them to come during that moment I asked regarding it. (I found that out from the Enterprise staff when she saw me at Enterprise and asked me why I was over there for so long, I then told her I've been waiting on them (Enterprise). She immediately told me that it's not true because they got a notification for pick up only 5 minutes ago.) Picked up my car a day earlier than what was initially quoted. Only to have to deal with a car that reeked of paint. The care taken on my car is without any care at all, they left paint fingerprints all over the inside driver door. Clear fingerprint on the handle. I called and bought up that issue to the staff in charge of doing my estimate, she goes and tell me "thats going to happen because your car was painted" I told her I've used Caliber in the past and gotten my car fix and painted there and NEVER picked up my car smelling like paint. The staff member then proceed to say "well I don't know how long you've used us, but paint has changed." Absolutely ridiculous response and lack of understanding. I and many people in my life has gotten their car fixed and painted, never have had this issue. Sounds a lot more like rushed and no care for the customer is what it is. For paint to be inside my car means they did not care one bit regarding my vehicle and the service they are providing. read more

My son was in an accident in January 2024, so our insurance company advised him to go to Cailber Collision in Gainesville, VA. They have had my son's car since January and it is now almost May. The service advisor is a real tool bag. First, he told us that they were waiting for three parts, and I asked for the part numbers and wrote them down. I then looked at the estimate and looked at the text messages that he is sending to my son. The advisor gave conflicting information. I went in there recently because they still have his car and I asked for them to print out the parts list for his car. The tool bag highlighted the one part they say they are waiting for now. Sure, enough over a month ago he told me he was waiting for three parts, and none of them were the same part number. l don't recommend this autobody to anyone. They have held my son's car hostage for months and we have been lied to several times. They disassembled his car and it was drivable before it got there. They will not give us his car! Gar, the service advisor started yelling at me when I asked for proof of when and where the parts were ordered. Rating is 0 out of 5. read more

Avoid this Caliber collision center at all cost. From the start the appointment process was screwed up to where after calling me and setting up my appointment, I was told I had no appointment once I got there. After realizing the issue was on their end they did at least accommodate me. They kept me updated on my vehicle regularly so I will give them 4 stars for customer service. Once my vehicle was finally completed and inspected I noticed someone had went through my glove compartment, center console and all of my items. I was confused as to why anyone would have needed to be inside my vehicle when they were just repairing the bumper. Items were missing from my vehicle to include 2 pairs of aviator sunglasses and the lug key to my rims. The individuals who went through my vehicle made it obvious by just putting stuff in random spots that I never had items placed. I was told by Caliber that there was no reason why anyone would be in my vehicle. Caliber purchased a replacement lug key for vehicle. I am sure if I had left anything else in my vehicle of value it would have been stolen as well. Not sure what their plans were or are for taking my lug key but it's being monitored. I never give a thief a second chance to do me wrong so that is why the rating is so low despite them having decent customer service. read more

I picked my vehicle up and as I was driving home, I heard a loud thump sound. It wasn't until I arrived at my house and pulled in my driveway that I realized the piece above the tire was broken and had hit my car. My husband immediately reached out to Ryan, who is the GM,explain the situation. Ryan then asked me to drive all the way back to have a look at it. Now mind you I live 40 minutes away so it's not convenient for me to drive back, but I did to make sure that they understood it was their fault for this issue. Upon my arrival, Ryan was not very kind in discussing my concerns with me and acted like it was no big deal about the piece coming undone. It wasn't until his regional manager Adam showed up that his demeanor completely changed 180. It was honestly a waste of time for me to come back as well because they had to order a new piece so then I had to come back out a second time to get the car taken care of. Also, I had to call them to see if they even had the part because they were supposed to call me Friday and they never did. The other thing that bothered me is that they acted like it was no big deal when it really was a big deal. Essentially someone tried to use the same piece, but I was told by the regional manager that those specific pieces are only good for one time use and once you pull them out of the slots, they usually don't go back in. That's why it had come undone when I was driving and had slapped my car, thankfully not leaving damage to my vehicle. My biggest thing I would say is that even though they offer a limited warranty, you're gonna have to be fighting tooth and nail to get things fixed if certain concerns or issues arise with their work. Customer service needs work and ensuring the job is perfect is critical. No one has the time or gas money to keep coming back to get things resolved when it should have been done correctly in the first place. Also, I admire a company that can humble themselves, admit that they messed up and just apologize for it. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at all. Instead, it was made out to not be a big deal. read more

I use to work for this company and I have personally witnessed them conducting shady practices when you drop your car off someone usually a b-tech will go over and find all the damage on your car both related/non-related to the collision then he/she will relay that information to the lead-tech from there the lead-tech then gets the insurance rep to go over the damage report and if your damage falls short of the threshold for the vehicle to be totaled the rep will turn there back while the technician breaks a part on your vehicle around the collision zone to bump it up over the threshold so the insurance company doesn't have to pay for the repairs If You Love your car DON'T BRING IT TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!! read more

Caliber was recommended by my insurance company after a tree had fallen on my truck. I expected a good job, but I was so surprised that there wasn't so much as a blemish, a dimple, or paint mismatch to be found. I honestly cannot see that any repair was done. Gar spent time with me instructing me on how to best take care of the repaired area and was gracious enough to allow me to give him a call if I had further questions. 5 Star body and repair shop from the beginning of the process to the end. I unfortunately had to have collision work done which amounted to $4k based on the quote which my insurance accepted. I have a 2017 Nissan Armada that retailed at $65k when I bought it so I was sick over the damage but Caliber put me at ease and promised to get my SUV back to the condition before the accident. They delivered!!! GM Ryan guided me through the whole process, was so customer service focus but for me he knew his sh*t and was hands on from the damage assessment to all the repairs that were done. I'm a nut for keeping my SUV in the best condition despite having three teenage boys so Im very loyal to my car repair guy and know added Caliber to that exclusive list. read more

Performance of Caliber Collision (Haymarket, VA) thus far on this repair has been completely unacceptable. As a result my 2020 Toyota Tundra is NOT ready for pick up I am stuck with this flimsy Enterprise Rental Truck for another weekend and no word what so ever if my vehicle will be ready on Monday? As God is my witness I will never again trust Caliber Collison to do any repair on any of my vehicles and nor will I recommend them to any of my friends and neighbors. Ponder this ....since Caliber Collision failed to maintain quality control and did not get the correct parts to complete the repair in a timely manner as promised. I waited patiently for 12 weeks for a tailgate to come in for this? I as the customer am stuck paying hundreds of dollars a day for a rental I do not need while you wait on a $10 bushing for a hinge that they "CALIBER" failed to order? Sounds pretty screwed up to me! Took my car in after hitting a deer, needed a new fender, and re paint the bumper. The only thing i am happy with is the paint matching of the new fender, it matches my bright metallic blue very well, and I cannot tell it is not an original fender (from the outside). On to the others: under the hood where my fender connects to the frame of the car, it did not receiver it's final coat of paint, so as soon as you opened the hood, you can tell the fender is a completely different color. The engine bay is now covered in over spray, littered on the engine cover, battery cover, and pretty much everything else. The ENTIRE exterior of the car is peppered with over spray feels like sandpaper, my windshield wipers sounds like the are wiping sand paper when it rains, not a windshield. when the sun is in my face, it is difficult to see out of the windshield because of the over spray. The bumper had to be removed to replace a fog light, when they put it back on, both sides are not lined up properly, and on the passenger side, the fender and bumper cover are contacting, rubbing the paint down. The buffer work is absolutely horrendous, the brand new fender, with brand new paint on it, is swirled so bad, you can see it on a cloudy day, through the thick layer of dust left on my car. I honestly cannot believe how bad the buffer work is, being a body shop, that should be one of there best traits. My car was filthy when i received it, still covered in compound dust from buffing, not even attempting to at least wipe it down, god forbid a quick wash. The interior is covered in the same amount of body shop dust, and all the contact points from their hands are covered in grease, and smudges. The people who they contracted out my wheel repair to did such a horrible job that calliber collision is making them give me a refund. The even painted over my center cap wheel logo.. Now, here's my experience taking my car back to correct the messed up stuff. I took it back mainly for the un-painted portion of my fender, and the overspray. After correcting this, there is now a huge, noticeable line from them masking off the frame to paint this portion of the fender. They attempted to remove the over spray, it was an abysmal attempt at best. Some of it was taken off the engine cover, but only on the easy to reach areas, everything else was ignored. The windshield is still peppered, still in plain sight with sun, and the sand paper like feeling on the glass and body is now there. The entire car still has over spray on it, BUT NOW the ENTIRE car is covered in the same swirls the new fender has. Seriously, whoever they have in charge of buffing this car needs to move to the paint stripping department, not correction. As a weekend warrior DIY detailer, i am extremely upset with my experience. I am going back in a couple weeks to get the bumper gap fixed, and meet with the manager about it. I was offered a whole car clay bar, and re polish, but i do not want their buffer touching my car again. Know why? because they can't even buff! It received two stars because the claims adjuster i worked with is extremely friendly, and helpful. Also the paint matching was great. everything else is horrible. read more

Had my truck in for minor body work. Took five days. Picked it up on a Friday evening just before closing. They said they needed one mud flap that was damaged. When I looked the truck over the next day it was apparent that they did a very poor job. I took it back and they agreed. They said to bring it back when they got the part they needed. I waited two weeks and never heard from them. A month went by. I took the truck back and told them I wanted the job done over. They kept it five days again. And when I went to Pick it up they had my original mud flap installed. It was never damaged. Go figure. They had already charged the insurance company for the part that wasn't needed. I made sure that they sent a credit to the insurance company. Something was just not right in the entire deal. The front receptionist is very nice. That's why two stars otherwise it would be one. read more

Where do I even begin? I took my car here because Geico recommended it after I was hit by one of their insured. Should have went with my gut and just taken it my regular guy (side note I take my car to Bomnin Chevrolet in Manassas they have done three cars of mine and always match it perfect the shop manager said just this year he's gotten 20 cars to correct from Caliber). I drop my car off they seem super professional mark my car all up to show the damage and existing damage. Then they tell us their process and they "feather paint" the pieces but put clear coats over all the pieces they don't paint. Not crazy about that process. So then we over hear Linda talking about how the colors don't match up between the bumper and the car. This is the original factory paint. Felt like we were being set up because they knew they weren't going to match it. Which as you will see from the picture. They didn't. So a two day process turned into over a week process. Went to pick the car back up. It still didn't match up. Tried to talk to Linda about it and she just eventually walked away and left us standing outside... REAL PROFESSIONAL! So I went in and asked what I needed to do to get my car and she said I could go sign all my paperwork and take my car. I told her I wasn't signing anything because the car wasn't done properly. I should mention the side that you see in the picture was only supposed to get their clear coat. It wasn't even the damaged side! I was so upset I didn't even inspect the damaged side. So once I got it home the paint was bubbled up under the tail light and already peeling in some spots. The clear coat had bubbled up. As seen in all the pictures. I called Gieco and they paid to have my guy do it. So bottom line is NEVER take your car here unless you just don't care. They do a terrible job and try to act like they didn't notice. Geico should definitely stop doing business with them. They also damaged by car, put two small dents in it. Told Geico and they said I'd have to bring it back to them to repair it. So I had to suck it up on those because I wouldn't let them touch my car ever again. I would never recommend them to anyone. Awful. Just Awful. read more

This Caliber Collision is a Geico Express Shop. We have a 10 year old Toyota Yaris and while it is 10 years old we take good care of it. So when someone hit the passenger side mirror we took it to Caliber Collision of Gainesville because that's what Geico recommended. We met with Jimmy and left the car. After picking up the car we noticed gaps in the repaired mirror that were not in the original. Further, we can pop off part of the mirror with our fingers. When we let Caliber Collision of Gainesville know of the problem they suggested sending a photo of the area. We did this and let them know that the repair looked like it had been done hastily but that the car was 10 years old. During this time Caliber Collision continued to let us know there was a review online that they wanted us to fill out. We filled out the online form honestly with lower scores. A short time later we received a call from Garr at Caliber Collision of Gainesville. We talked for 30 minutes regarding times we could meet. This was done with the intent that we both be free to review the repair. We agreed on this morning August 12 2019 at 9 a.m. We took off the day from work, made the 30 minute drive to the shop, and arrived at 8:58 a.m. After arriving we were told that Garr was on a phone call but that it would only be a few moments. A few minutes later we were told that Garr was now in a meeting and would be another 20 minutes. We have already been extremely inconvenienced. To set up a date and time so you can meet a returning customer because of a problem and then to have someone tell that customer "oh you'll have to sit and wait" is simply outrageous. read more

Some of you people have left reviews for the wrong location. 7700 progress ct. is NOT the Geico express shop. 7825 progress ct IS the Geico express shop. Auto body shops don't give an exact completion date. They give an "estimated completion date." More damage could be found once the car is taken apart which could up the time & cost of repairs. Some of these people writing these reviews probably just don't listen &leaving the review for the completely wrong shop. I had a great experience there & so have a few of my friends. No issues at all. The time & price went up but because I listened to my Service Advisor I knew that was a possibility. read more

Summary: When you take your car to an Auto Body shop, you just want to get the car repaired well, on time and without hassle. In my case, Caliber missed on all 3 counts. My car was at their shop for over a week, it took multiple calls on my part to get an estimate sent to the insurance company for review and then the estimate was so excessively high, the car was considered totaled and Caliber would not do the work (they don't work on totaled cars). I had to tow my car to another shop (Earls Auto Body) at my expense. Earl did excellent work, completing the job in 4 days (less time than my car was at Caliber), and for LESS THAN HALF the cost Caliber had quoted ($1932 vs. ~$4600+). Long version: Three weeks ago while out-of-town, I was rear-ended in my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The contact point was at the driver's side corner of the rear bumper: the bumper was cracked beyond repair, the rear body corner was indented several inches, the tail light was askew and there was some deformation of the quarter panel. The car itself was drivable, but it needed to be fixed. The next day the other driver's insurance (State Farm) admitted fault and mentioned that they had an adjuster at the Caliber Collision shop at 7700 Progress Ct. I had previously had a good experience with their sister shop (there are 2 Caliber Collision shops a few hundred yards apart), so I took my car to Caliber to be fixed. When I dropped the car off, I stressed that it was a great car and I wanted to have it fixed, not totaled. I was concerned that the damage, though relatively minor, might exceed the value of the car. I was told on Friday (around noon), that Caliber estimated the repairs to be $3792. They said they had used recovery parts in the estimate and applied a 5% discount to help keep the price down (in an effort to not total the car). They said the claim had been sent to insurance and I should expect a phone call from State Farm within 24 hours. When I hadn't heard back by Monday night, I called State Farm. The agent said they hadn't received a quote from the shop yet. I did learn my car was valued at $6080. (I also learned that for a car to be deemed "totaled", the repair cost only has to be 75% of the value of the car, not 100%.) Because State Farm hadn't received any documentation they couldn't make a judgement, but I knew that the estimate ($3792) was less than the 75% threshold ($4560) so I was relieved the car wasn't totaled ... or so I thought. Since Caliber was closed for the night, I called the next morning (Tuesday). After trading voice messages, I was again told that the estimate had been sent to State Farm and I should expect a call from them. The day passed with no call so I called State Farm that night. I was shocked to learn they still didn't have the quote! The agent then sent Caliber an email (and copied me) and told me she would personally follow up with Caliber when they opened on Wednesday morning. Not wanting to leave anything to chance, I called both State Farm and Caliber (multiple times) on Wednesday and had them talk with each other. Finally by almost close-of-business, I was again told by Caliber that the files had been transferred. A follow-up call with State Farm verified that they now had the estimate, but I was told they couldn't make a final determination on my vehicle because they hadn't received photos with the estimate. I was absolutely stunned! It is unfathomable to me that an insurance company and one of their adjusters, that I assume do these transfers frequently, could screw this up so badly. The ordeal only got worse on Thursday. By the time I spoke with State Farm on Thursday morning they had the photos, but then they had to talk to Caliber to determine if there would be any other charges. When I heard from State Farm about an hour later, an $800 supplemental had been added to the estimate! The supplemental was explained to me as a means to cover costs that might not be apparent until they began working on the vehicle. In my mind, it was an excessively conservative number arbitrarily chosen to bump the cost above the 75% threshold to total the car. At this point, State Farm gave me two options: total the car and sign the title over to them for ~$6300 or keep the car and receive a ~$4400 check (the ~$1900 salvage value being the difference). In order to make an informed decision, I asked Caliber what the likelihood of them being able to repair the car for $4400 was. At this point, Caliber told me they would not repair my car; company policy is that they do not to work on totaled cars. Furthermore, they would not say whether the $3792 estimate + $800 supplemental was likely to fix my car nor give me their opinion as to the risk of incurring charges above those. Thus, to make an informed decision, I needed to take my car to another shop. Fortunately, I took the car to Earls Auto Body and they were able to repair my car for $1932, in 4 days, with no hassle. read more

This place is a rip off. They estimated 5 days to repair a dented quarter panel...it took them almost s month to return my car. Estimated about $1100 cost...ended up being almost 2K. Without a doubt the most unprofessional shop I've had to deal with. I dropped my vehicle off and it sat for about 3 weeks untouched for minimal front end damage. I was given a quote I signed off on it. And a week later they are saying they will have to total it. Basically giving me the run around they didn't want to do the work. Long story short I have a tow company a family member of mine to come and pick it up and find out they gave the tow truck driver a hard time. Over all nightmare dealing with this company. You would be better off taping your ride back together than to deal with caliber collision. I wish I could give negative stars. I'm so fed up I made a Yelp just to post this review. I have taken a few of my cars to Caliber Collision in Gainesville Virginia and each time the customer service was outstanding and the finished work was perfect. On one occasion, my son was T-boned and the insurance company wanted to total my car but Caliber worked with me and the insurance company to keep the cost down so the car could be repaired and not totaled. In addition once all the work was done you could never tell that the car was in an accident. The next time I needed car repairs, the front bumper needed to be replaced (kids driving again, don't you love young drivers) and like all plastic bumpers it's hard to match the paint. So when I mentioned the color didn't really match they didn't question me, they just asked if they could have the car for a few more days to repaint the bumper and they would cover the additional car rental cost. When I got the car back the color was a match, another perfect experience. The last time (another kid driving story but with a different car) car was hit in a parking lot and because parking lots are no fault insurance claims, you use your insurance company and you get to pay the deductible, great right? So I called Caliber to set up an appointment for an estimate and figured I have to wait a few days for an opening but the nice young lady said she could squeeze me that day. So I'm back at Caliber and the young man who helped last time comes out to take a look and ask if I have 5 min, next thing I know he's back, front bumper fixed and you couldn't tell the car was ever hit. So there was not much damage probably a little solvent and a plastic push pin but who drops what they are doing and takes care of a customer that fast? When was the last time you took your car to a body shop and walked away with a big ol'' smile on your face....? All I can tell you is these guys/gals rock and Johnnie, the service rep is a "Rock Star" That's twice Johnnie has gone above and beyond what one would expect from a repair body shop or any auto repair shop for that matter. Just a great, great experience. Five stars!!!!! Thanks Johnnie Thanks Caliber read more

I had damage to both passenger side doors. I thought the damage would be repaired and look like it had prior to the damage. That would not be the case. When I came to pick-up the car on a Friday the cashier was ready for me to pay and pick-up. I said shouldn't I check the car first and she said sure go ahead and look at it. I was very surprised to see an orange peel finish, small pieces of debris in the finish and a very visible crease in the front passenger door. We had to wait for about 15 minutes for a service advisor to come out and inspect with me. Nathan told me the weather had probably affected the finish and they were unable to see the orange peel in the rain. He said he would buff it out for a number of hours and that should take care of the orange peel finish. I said that is great but what about debris and crease. He said he would send an email to Gar, the original service advisor and have him check on the other things. I had to return the car on Monday to Gar. The car was ready around 6:30PM and I am still unhappy with the finish, repair and paint job. It still has the orange peel finish (better than before but still visible) with little pin hole dots and a number of very small lines. I was told the body shop cannot be 100% sterile. I would not return to this body shop. Very disappointed! read more
