We had a fender bender with our 2020 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro. We had the front fender replaced by Caliber Collision (covered by insurance). Our caseworker at Caliber was Christian Prieto. It was an expensive fix. But beyond that Christian missed damage to the front grill and the latch that triggers the engine hood to be opened. We took it back a day after we picked it up from Caliber. Christian/Caliber would not accept that they had missed it and claimed it was from something (total lies). They are not trustworthy - I would recommend looking at another shop. read more

I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. The customer service is ok, the quality of the work performed by the technician to repair The vehicle is unacceptable to the highest point.. either the auto body technician is drinking on the job or he lied on his résumé because too many issues were clearly noticed after receiving my car that should've been fixed before giving me my car back causing numerous amounts of inconvenient visits and it's still not right.. I'm not taking it back to fix the problems because i lost all trust in this business.. Note: the day you pick your car up they come outside and fast talk you so you don't notice any type of issues they might've had, it seems like they'll rather be dishonest and hide it from you. So what you need to do is isolate yourself with your car by yourself and go over it really good. I would never use this place again read more

What I'm about to describe actually happened late 2017 or early 2018rly 2018. I have the email trail, but because of how it happened it would take me a bit longer to pin down the exact date. Geico and Caliper have it, claim # :0370914670101074-01. Anyway, at that time Caliper Collision (caliper) was Geico's preferred collision shop in that area. We have a 2014 Camry mostly driven by my daughters. Apparently, in certain parking scenarios there are curbs high enough to catch the front bumper. If you're not careful it can mess up your bumper. That's what happened in this case. Update: my daughter reminded me that the damage was actually caused by running over something that fell off of a tractor trailer while driving on the highway. It was a comprehensive claim with Geico. I'd been with Geico about 9 years, so I used them to get the bumper fixed. They put Caliper out as their go to in these cases. I didn't think much of it. As long as it got fixed... Well that never happened. They didn't replace the bumper. They jury rigged the existing bumper. I took it back to Caliper at least twice, maybe 3 times. The first 1 or 2 times I took the car back to Caliper, the adjuster was helpful to a point. Eventually I ended up with a different adjuster. When I took the car back to Caliper the final time, the new adjuster claimed there were gaps in the notes, and because of the time between bringing the car back, it could've been new damage. What she said did make sense, but the issue was the same (the bumper kept popping out along the right side seam and would not properly connect to where the wheel well liner was between the bumper and the chassis. There are 2 plastic keepers there to keep everything in place, 1 of them would not stay connected. That was always the issue. The new adjuster was not helpful at all. I dropped Geico. Fast forward to now. We still have the car. I decided to buy a new bumper and put it on. There are a number of useful videos on YouTube. I removed the old bumper. When I went to put on the new bumper, there was nothing to attach the bottom anchors of the bumper. I looked at the remainder of the video, and figured out the splash guard was missing. There was not a trace of it. No screws, nothing. There is rust on some screw holes but no screws. It appears Caliper never replaced the splash guard. Bottom-line is, the bumper attaches to the splash guard, and without it, the bumper cannot be properly installed. Caliper was supposed to fix it the right way, and they didn't. Geico approved Caliper's solution. I attached a few photos. I have used this shop 3 times and the last two times haven't been what I am use too. 1) I had an item taken from my car and they said I signed off of there is something missing it's on me. Shame on me but I hope this helps you make the right call and think twice of what's in your car when you drop it off at this shop. 2) I had another car in at the same time they did good on the insurance work but the extra repairs they did were of less quality. I sent my concerns to the adjuster and never heard back. This is the last time I will be using this shop or any other caliber. They need to take better care of their customers. read more

Caliber Collision 1375 East Main Street El Cajon CA 92021 I recently needed to take my car to a body repair shop and I chose Caliber Collision @ 1375 East Main Street in El Cajon. I first met Marina who welcomed me into the facility. She was friendly and helpful, an excellent representative of Caliber Collision. The service advisor with whom I interacted re the disposition of my car was Trevor. I couldn't have asked for a friendlier person to help me through an unpleasant business. He was consistently helpful and educational re the process I then had to go through. He was an excellent representative of Caliber Collision as well. While I hope to never need their services again, I sincerely hope these two employees are still there to help me if I do. Caliber Collision is a chain of body shops so I can only speak for my personal experience with this particular one. If it's otherwise appropriate for your insurance, location, etc., I strongly recommend you visit them and, if it's an option, look for Marina and Trevor as I'm sure they'll help you through it. read more

First, I am the 2018 silver Honda Accord Owner, for the Manager/staff to know who and why they are getting the bad review. Bad communication, the repair was not performed correctly and I have been waiting for then to get back to me as I addressed the issues with the Manager last week and they haven't even call or text me about the next step. 1- First they said that damaged wheel is safety issue and need to be replaced, when I picked up the car the wheel what repaired poorly, the color doesn't match and there is sanding marks under the paint and they sanded the wheel like someone doesn't know what they are doing, I will upload photos later. 2- The car interior smells like paint to this day after a more than a week. 3- The driver side power folding mirror was replaced with manual folding mirror and I explained to them that the mirrors are power folding and they can see it when they lock the car, but still they replaced it with manual and that was addressed with the manager and still they have 0% experience in communication with customers. 4- I need to open the driver side door trim to check the electrical connection under, because now every time I lock the car some blue light turns on and off after few second, which i didn't have that before. Worst experience for far. I will never recommend this shop to people I know. Not professional at all, Idk why AAA always recommend them!! Second time using them and both bad. read more

We picked up our beloved Mazda minivan from the Point Loma location of Caliber Collision today. It visited them last year after a driver backed into the side of the van. The repair was amazing, perfect, couldn't tell there had been a problem. This year neighborhood cats duked it out on the hood, several times over a three week period. We were in and out of town and could not get it to Caliber in a timely manner. The rust had quickly spread under the paint so we ended up with a new hood. Once again, the van is pristine! The only thing they do fast is to take your car in. They'll give you an estimated time of when car will be done and will probably take 2 weeks after that. They told me my car was ready for pick up and when I arrived I found damages on my car that were not even there before I dropped it off. And when you ask them why. They'll tell you because "you're rushing them" It would be a better idea to get your car fixed in TJ than to take it to them. read more

I was very satisfied with the service I was provided. I was in an accident, and I went through my insurance for the repair. Throughout the process, Trevor went above and beyond with providing updates and keeping me in the loop on what was going on. When I picked up my vehicle I had it for a short amount of time before I had an issue. I called Trevor and he knew exactly what the problem was. He spoke to the adjuster and was able to apply the expense to the original claim. Him and his team took care of the issue the same day. Avoid this place at all costs! Read this review and the other negative ones. It is true about this place. I'm taking my time to write this so others don't make the same mistake as I did. Dropped my car off on the 19th of October to get the door body work and paint on passenger door and was told it would be done the following week. When I called on the 28th the car was not done yet and their reason why was they didn't have someone to work on it. Mind you no one called me to let me know the car wasn't going to be done on the time I was told. Then after calling my insurance company I got the word back my car was going to be done on the 4th of November(2.5 weeks later). I was out of town and they were closed that weekend. I picked up the car 7 November and immediately looking at the car door I could see multiple dust spots/lint painted over and where they blended the paint you could see the colors/paint did not match at all and hardware on my cup holder that was supposed to be installed on my door. The car is white and not metallic and it only has 1k miles so the paint is brand new from factory it is not hard to get it to match. After talking to my insurance point of contact (Gabi) she went to get Raul (not sure if he is the manager) and never came back mind you she's my point of contact with the insurance company. He was understanding of how the work came out and offer to take the car back to get the issue corrected. I scheduled for the following week since I needed the car. Dropping off the car at 8 am I had a real nice guy doing the initial paperwork while the initial lady I worked with avoided me like a plague and chose to help someone else instead of me. I was told the repairs would be done by the end of the day and I was going to get a call within an hour or two from Raul to let me know what time to pick up up the car. At 1230 I had not heard anything so I called to find out, he was out for lunch and I left a message. At 1:30 I called again and was on hold while they were trying to figure out how much work was done to my car. I was told the car was not going to be done until the next day in the morning. The work they did finally looks descent the second time around. Needless to say I would never come back to this body shop again and I will never refer them to anyone I know because of their Quality Control, and communication with the clients. They could not do a simple work that did not require anything above and beyond, they failed to deliver the vehicle in a timely manner, showed a lack of quality control and poor workmanship from their technicians. Avoid this place if you can! Even though my issues were corrected there was no reason for them to be there in first place if they had done the job right the first time. read more

I had my car repaired here several years ago! Should have been a total loss however, they needed business. Needless to say, the only surface damage was a replaced and painted hood. Had to return as the paint began peeling off! With that said, even with an appointment totally inconvienenced. I would never recommend this place to repair your vehicle.
