Good experience overall, complete and timely repair. Thanks, Nate, for helping us find an affordable solution to replace the single headlight the insurance didn't cover! Absolutely terrible service here at Caliber Collision on South Lamar. I was in a minor accident and my insurance company recommended Caliber Collision on S Lamar, so I brought my car there to get an estimate first while insurance was still sorting the case out. I spoke with Alvaro and told him about the situation and made sure it was okay that I was just getting an estimate for the time being, and he confirmed they wouldn't start any repairs on the car. I got a call the next day from Alvaro that they had completed the repairs without my consent to begin them. One item that was supposed to be fixed was the cars check engine light which turned on following my accident. I was told by Alvaro, the individual helping me with my repairs, that that problem would also be fixed, so when I came to pickup my car and the check engine light was off, I assumed it had been repaired. I took my car and after having driven less than 30 miles, the check engine light popped back on and when I returned and spoke with Alvaro about it, he informed me the underlying issue was never fixed. The shop simply reset the car which automatically turns off the light temporarily, but resolves no underlying issues. Also, there was a small chip on my windshield when I brought it in. When I went to pick up the car, there was now a full-blown crack that extended half the length of the windshield. I brought it up to Alvaro and he said it was there when I brought the car in. After reviewing the pictures of my car when I brought it in and him realizing he was wrong, he proceeded to blame the crack on the weather and that the sudden change in heat caused the windshield to crack (it had been in the low 70 degrees all week). I called later that week to speak with the manager, Johan. I was told by the receptionist that he was busy to which I asked her if he could please give me a call back at his soonest convenience and provided my number. She told me she would pass that along to him. I just back two days later after not hearing back and upon hearing who I was and what I was calling for, the receptionist hung up on me. I initially thought the call may have been disconnected on accident but when I called back and again said who I was, she immediately hung up. This is incredibly unprofessional. Incredibly unprofessional and rude service. read more

Super happy with the work and hospitality we were given from start to finish! I was originally recommended this specific location of Caliber Collision by a girlfriend of mine and super happy I did. Jacob, was honest and made me feel super comfortable with moving forward. He also stayed super communicative throughout the process figuring us updates. Not only was our car back to perfect, added bonus because we received our car back a week earlier than expected which was a huge relief since we're a one car household. I will definitely recommend you to my friends moving forward! read more

We've used other locations of Caliber in the past when we lived in other areas of town, and have always been pleased with their work. This time was no exception. The hardest part was getting an appointment in a timely manner, but once that was secured and our insurance sent over authorization, things moved along quickly. There was some poor communication from the front desk, but the estimator was super helpful and kept us in the loop on repairs. The parts supplier sent him defective parts twice, and he diligently sent them back and then ordered OEM directly from a local dealer, which went smoothly. We were able to obtain a rental car from Enterprise up the street, and they are able to drop off and pick up rentals from this Caliber location if you need that service. It's too far to walk down Lamar otherwise. Our insurance contracts with Caliber, and their contracted rates seemed reasonable for copay purposes. Our car was returned repaired and clean in a very reasonable amount of time. Hopefully we won't need them again anytime soon, but if we do we are glad they're there. read more

Joan M. I drove into Caliber Collision after a hit and run. My insurance company liked Caliber Collision and recommended it as a fast, efficient, and professional service. However, the employees at the auto body shop were more than that. I called to make an important to bring my car in, and as I drove into the lot, Alvero was waiting for me to take me through the estimate. He was thorough and answered my questions quickly and professionally. Alvero also guided me through renting a car. He made me feel supported with his quiet, caring way. And then I discovered that everyone at Caliber Collision provided the same excellent service. I was amazed by how they cared and walked me through every step. Alvero was always ready to help and explain the process. The manager was also expertly helpful, I recommend Caliber Collision to those who need body repair. You are in good hands. read more

I'll be one of the few to admit that I'm not the best driver, but every time I find myself in an accident or happen to bump my car, I know I can count on Caliber Collision to provide exceptional service. From the moment I walk in, I feel genuinely welcomed, and I never have to worry about them trying to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. Johanan and Billy are my go-tos; their dedication and care truly stand out. They consistently keep me updated on the status of my vehicle, making the entire experience much smoother. I wholeheartedly recommend Caliber Collision for anyone in need of reliable and trustworthy auto repair! read more

When I first learned Audi was outsourcing all of their repairs I was concerned - shouldn't the manufacturer who knows their parts & processes best be handling the rework? After having my car repaired at Caliber, I see now why they are the preferred specialists for the job. From having a rental ready at intake, text updates at every step of the way, my car finished ahead of the promised delivery date, and every detail covered (including side mirrors calibrated to shift down when backing up) matching pre-accident specs OR BETTER, Caliber is where you go for getting your car back in better-than-brand-new condition. Heather was my point of contact throughout my repair process and she is the reason I happily and strongly recommend using this Caliber Collision location. She was pleasant, patient and forthright with her communication and she was instrumental in problem-solving complications with my insurance company. Ultimate accolades to Heather; she was sincerely a light in an otherwise crummy situation. Outside of Heather's excellent customer care, my car was fully restored in a timely manner and it was returned to me cleaned and vacuumed. I would definitely choose this repair shop again. read more

Unfortunately, Caliber Collision has provided some of the worst service that I've ever had. I would recommend highly that you do not take your car here unless you want to play the game of try and find how Caliber Collision has damaged your car. While getting a simple mirror fixed they scratched my paint down to the sheet metal and cracked my windshield. I had to push them to fix the scratches in the fender. Then I got the car back a second time I noticed a day later that they had also given my windshield a hairline crack. When I talk to the manager, he was extremely rude and act like I was just making it all up. To say I am disappointment is an understatement. read more

The place was clean and very professional, they took all the right Covid precautions and John was very responsive and did a great job keeping me in the loop. I got my car back well repaired and in better shape then before the accident. It could have been cleaner upon pick up, a great collision shop should wash and almost detail your car at pick up. They could have added fuel it was low when I dropped it and the light was on at pick up. Finally they repaired everything that was damaged but they could have done a little more and returned the car perfect which would have been a true insurance upgrade instead of a pre-accident rewind. You can see in the pic they repaired the back lift gate but didn't spray a little extra paint to repair a scratch I made with my garage door about 8" from the damage zone....that's what kept them from the 5th star. read more

Thank you Jacob for keeping me updated on parts coming in and getting my 4Runner fixed fast! My truck is back to brand new!

John at Caliber Collision texted me updates on my car almost daily, took it upon himself and called the rental car company for me to make sure my rental was still covered, helped me figure out how to pay my deductible (I wasn't at fault but it was still showing I owed a deductible) and put me in to get my windows tinted when I casually mentioned it once!! I've never had such a good experience with a company. I was pretty stressed about getting in a car accident right after moving here and he took this horrible situation and flipped it around for me. A genuinely honest company/ person. Very lucky to have been sent here by geico. My car looks better now than before the accident! read more

My car had been broken into and I needed somewhere to have it fixed, and I noticed the reviews for this place were overall good, with the occasional bad review. I love my car, just like anyone else, and wanted to make sure it was taken care of, and I was glad I chose this location! My point of contact was Heather and her assistant. They both did great in keeping me updated on my car. It was fixed within two weeks, and I was super excited when they said it was ready to be picked up. I went in to get an estimate for a scratch on my car. The scratch was pretty minor but I knew it would require replacing parts. The front end workers were very nice to me over the phone and made scheduling very easy. After checking in, I was greeted by a guy named Billy who looked at the scratch, and then said he would draw up an estimate for me. He came back out and quoted me $1600 for the repair. Again, I knew it would be expensive because parts had to be replaced but this seemed way off. I left since I had both my kids and decided to look at the price breakdown when I got home. He had put a section titled "Miscellaneous" and the price for that alone was $544. I called him and he wouldn't name exactly what it was for and instead referred to a section that said "Pre and post scan" and claimed that was the price for that. Sensing that I was being taken advantage of, I scheduled with a different location. I did not mention the previous estimate to the Caliber Collision that did the second estimate. The second place quoted me $1000, and their cost breakdown completely omitted work that Billy had put on the first estimate; leading me to believe he wanted to charge me for things that were not necessary. Does make me wonder if he did this because I'm a woman and he didn't think I would know better. The front desk staff is the only good thing about this place, as they were very courteous and even gave my son a toy to play with to pass the time. I still say, save your time and go somewhere else. read more

Why have a guarantee on repair work if they aren't going to honor it?? Blaming the customer instead of fixing crappy repair work. This location has always been our go to for repairs but definetly won't use again. read more

DO NOT bring your vehicle to this location. I took my car for a very minor repair (insurance paid) and they replaced the whole front end of my car claiming parts where broken or damaged which were not. I had personally paid for these parts and installed them myself. Somehow the exact same parts I had already replaced were deemed broken and put on the insurance estimate. When I called them out on this, they were very rude to me, particularly Alex the service manager. There are loads of other places that will have more integrity and do good, honest work. read more

They did great work, and within a few days of when they claimed, I had a fully-repaired car, but not without a few hiccups along the way. I came here because it got 4.5 stars on Yelp, and the insurance company paying for the repairs--not mine--preferred it meaning that they'd guarantee the work for the entire time I owned the car. At first things were great, they were professional took a look at the car, ordered the needed parts and let me know when they should be in. I dropped off my car before leaving town for a 3 days expecting to pick it up the day that I got back into town. By the time I got back into town, I hadn't heard anything about the status of the car and wound up having to wait over a weekend with no word. Then I found out that even though they said they'd theoretically gotten all the parts in, one part was on back order and they didn't know when they'd get it in, but because it was a "cosmetic" part, I was expected to come pick the car up. Turned out that the day after I picked the car up, the part came in and they were willing to install it while I waited the day after. So, in the end, they were nice and did get the car fixed mostly within the window they said, there were some annoyances along the way. read more

Drop off was quick and all questions answered. Their communication is great, you can sign up for alerts through your method of choice and basically got daily updates about the car until it was finished. I thought the overall price was fairly steep for what was repaired, basically no parts cost but for estimated 20 hrs of work to fix a scrape across two doors that ended up being $1400. This is why you have insurance though, and since it was a no fault accident the other drivers insurance paid the whole thing. When they return the car to you, they return it "washed", sparkling in water. I had immediately realized I should have asked them not to wash the car, because as I suspected it had been washed before and they don't use car wash quality water so a ton of hard to remove water spots from heavily mineralized water. It's hard to really inspect the car on pickup cosmetically because it's all wet, but when I took it to wash later I was also a little irked to find a lot of areas that were dirty or with speckles of primer/paint. The inside was very dusty, scuffs over a lot of the door trim and seat. Spent about 30-40 min wiping all this away and ultimately couldn't get a lot of the water spots out. Didn't bother to bring it back in because it wasn't worth the hassle, plus if they caused it whats to say that it wouldn't come back the same or worse? Though there were a lot of dirty spots, they were all relatively minor except some of the heavier water spots. I think most people who aren't terribly discerning or don't clean their care regularly probably would never notice and that's what they bank on. For the actual repair job, fortunately it was done well and cannot tell that it was damaged before. Overall the issues I had convey a lack of attention to detail and it's annoying I would get a car back significantly dirtier than I gave it to them. Tl:dr no frills service, gets the job done but attention to detail is lacking read more

Overall, I had a terrible experience. No quality control. I had to take my car back multiple times to get it fixed and it's still not fixed completely. I'm serious when I say, y'all didn't check the work done at all before telling me it's ready for pickup. Either that or you just hope I won't say anything about the half ass work that was done and will just take my car and leave. But I'm not that guy. I know my car and I've put a lot of time and money into it. There's water leaking into my trunk due to the metal piece that goes around the passenger side glass is not sealed at all and is allowing water to enter my trunk. First time they told me it was ready, I went to pick it up and was told it was ready. The fender was still all jacked up, every single dash light was on(they somehow managed to short out and damage 3 control modules while repairing the body. The wheel that was fixed was painted the wrong color/finish(should've been matte black, but they painted it gloss black) Also, my trunk was neat and organized along with my glove box. First time I got the car, it was like a tornado had gone through my car. My stuff was taken out of bags and thrown everywhere. Car was dirty from the body work inside and out. Tape was still left on the fender from when it was painted I imagine. Water was in my trunk under the battery which caused mold to grow in my trunk. Where is the quality control? 2nd time I took it back, they lost the cable to my tuner, destroyed my trunk and glove box again, lost the key to my locking lug nuts, AND there's now water leaking into my car, And it started smoking the day I got it back. It wasn't doing any of this before I brought it in. Wtf did y'all do to my damn car?!?! This place is ok if you have some little crappy car but I've put a lot of work and time into my car and you guys managed to screw it up and NONE of this was an issue before bringing it to y'all for BODY work, not mechanical work. Now my car is smoking and I'm waiting to see what y'all did to it. It's at another shop because I can't trust y'all to fix it anymore. Now I have to pay out of my own pocket to fix shit that you guys broke. Thanks a lot. What a frigging nightmare this has been and it was only simple body work that I brought it in for. I've dealt with Caliber in the past but holy shit this experience has been unreal. I will never bring it back to y'all. I will make sure every friend and family member knows to stay the hell away from y'all if they want their car fixed correctly the FIRST time with no excuses. Unbelievable... read more

My car was hit outside my house by a mother of three stopping by to buy my kitchen table. While my roommate entertained the teary-eyed children with Shrek, I made plans with the mom's insurance company to take my Pontiac to Caliber Collision. Although I wasn't happy about trekking my Hyde Park self down to South Lamar (past the new Alamo), I'm glad I had the experience of Caliber. A small chain (locations in CA and TX), you don't get that franchise feel. The receptionists are friendly, and politely deal with multiple people at once. The insurance folks I had to deal with were great, and they speedily got me a rental car. Of course, it helped that this wasn't MY insurance paying, but regardless. My car was ready earlier than they had promised, and when I went to pick it back up there was no waiting. They even looked at my omni-present "check engine" light, saving me the time and money of having to go somewhere else. Ask the tow truck driver to haul your hunk-a-junk here. read more
