A coyote jumped in front of my car on South Mopac and resulted in almost $3,800 to the front end of my car. My insurance company wanted me to go to their "preferred" body shop but after looking at their reviews, I decided to do my own search for customer feedback on south Austin body shops and came across City Collision. I'm glad I did! I found City Collision and took my car over to see Travis. He even found additional work that needed to be done that my insurance company's inspector had missed. He contacted the appraiser and got the additional repairs authorized and was very quick in making the needed repairs. When I first arrived, I saw that this shop didn't have a bunch of employees so I thought that it might take a while to get my car back. I was a bit concerned because I didn't have rental reimbursement on my insurance policy so I was paying out of pocket for my rental. I told Travis about this and he assured me that he would get my car finished as soon as possible. He didn't disappoint! It was completely done in only 3 days (not counting the delay from my insurance company about authorizing the additional repairs which was out of his control). The front end of my car looks better than before I hit the coyote! It looks like it's brand new right off of the showroom floor! Awesome work! I have had about 8 repair jobs performed here over the past 10 or so years. I think my first repair work here was done right after they opened. We unfortunately bang our cars up a lot in addition to getting hit by others. Most recent was getting rear ended by a teenage on my 1 week old new car. I was googling for the phone number at City and came across this Yelp listing and I think they deserve another review. USAA tries to send us to another bodyshop but I always insist on on using City. They do really good work, know how to negotiate borderline items with the insurance company, and always complete the work on time unless something previously unknown pops up after it's taken apart. The paint always matches and I've never had any trouble. In Texas, you don't have to use who your insurance company recommends, and I don't because I want an unbiased opinion. Take your car to City and you'll get an honest, accurate estimate and a good quality repair. read more

Awesome shop... ONLY caveat: do not be in a rush... they do great work and great work takes time. They are also very busy because people who want things done right the first time take their cars here. I've had other body work done from time to time over the years... most of the time, you can see where the paint doesn't quite match, some shops try to use Bondo instead of replacing parts, the gaps between panels are different than what came from the factory, etc... you will NOT have this issues with Travis and his crew. These guys are true pros and the pride they take in their work is evident. But for all the paperwork I have from the insurer, you'd never know that my car had ever been "dinged"! read more

I have taken both of my cars to City Collision in the past few months for minor body work. Each time, Travis was professional and efficient with determining the right parts to replace. He effectively communicated the schedule and costs, and he delivered exactly as promised. One of the issues involved a broken side mirror that had caused secondary damage to the door paint. This review is over a year late, but I wanted to post anyway because my experience was so great! My new car was backed into in a parking lot in January of 2013, and on a friend's recommendation, I took it to City Collision. Travis was not only super nice and knowledgable, he helped me get my car fixed correctly, instead of the half-ass fixes my insurance adjuster "suggested." He dealt with my insurance company, telling them he needed to do much more than they originally thought in order to make the repair, and they paid it in full! I'm so grateful that Travis didn't just do the bare minimum and instead negotiated on my behalf to make sure the parts ordered were the ones that actually FIT MY CAR instead of the after-market generic parts they were suggesting. The 2 bonuses of taking my car to City Collision--not only did Travis answer the phone every time I called (and I called every other day to check on things), he was patient and explained everything he was doing in detail so I understood it fully. Part of the danger of taking your car to get fixed as a young female is that people often think they can pull one over on you since you obviously know nothing about cars. Travis was the opposite! Second bonus--when I came to pick up my finished car, I pulled into the parking lot in my rental and Travis was outside, polishing my freshly washed and waxed car. City Collision & Travis are super polite and can do. I tried to repair my truck's driver side door handle BY MYSELF on a lovely Sunday afternoon...and COULDN'T PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AGAIN, hah! The door handle should've gone right back on in the same 10-15 minutes it took me to dismantle it, but no such luck for the semi-handy guy that is me. And wouldn't you know it: , here comes a rainy Monday to greet me with my now unsafe vehicle. A little Googling and I called City Collision & Travis said YEP, BRING IT IN, WE'LL GET YOU OUT BY END OF THE DAY. What do ya know: he did and at a reasonable, not rip-off-the-stranded-guy price. He also worked with the insurance company to make sure my strut, which was also damaged but not visible at the time of the estimate, to cover everything. I've taken my cars to City Collision several times and each time I've been more than pleased with the results. They do real good work at a very reasonable price. I live close by and I can't tell you how many times I've seen them stay open late just so they can have the job finished on time.
