Makes sense there is a 2.9 review for this place. Our service advisor told us a few days ago to come drop the car off so we arranged for someone else to help transport the driver. Driver of the vehicle arrives, second driver is close behind. About 2 minutes before the second driver arrives the SA (service advisor) instructs that the car will be done in 15 minutes at which point the owner reminds the SA of an issue with the doors not opening from the inside. "Not a safety issue," by this Caliber Collisions measure when in reality if the owner had been in an accident and wasn't able to exit the vehicle, I'd say that's a big safety issue. Anyways, the SA tells the owner that it's just a switch and will only take a few minutes. Cut to 45 minutes later... the car is not done and the SA explains they're having an issue fixing the problem. Mind you, and no point were we in a rush to get the vehicle back. Now two people are out of work for over an hour and these guys are just meandering around without care in the world. The complete lack of professionalism, honesty, and concern for the customers time is what ticks me off the most. The SA needs a lesson in time management, transparency, and willingness to prioritize the customers needs. He failed 100%. We'll be taking our vehicles elsewhere going forward. 1/10 Thanks for wasting our time. read more

Took my car to the Menchaca Rd location in Austin Texas several Months ago. The trunk and bumper were replaced and painted. After I took the car home, there was a leak in the trunk, areas that weren't painted around the back lights and other areas on the trunk, and the spring in the trunk came undone. I let them know about all of this. Parts have supposedly been ordered and painting needs to be touched up. I have called several times and am told that the parts have been ordered but aren't in yet. When I called again twice recently, I was told that I would get a call back but it didn't happen. I'm very disappointed in the service now. If the parts aren't coming in, just tell me and I'll contact my insurance company and go elsewhere. Do you know how hot my trunk is during the afternoons now? Took my car in for repair covered by insurance. The rear passenger door hard a depression caused during parking incident. Work was done fairly quickly and communication was good. But the metal strip at the top of the doors (I'm not sure why both front and rear were needed) where the window meets were on backorder, My car was returned to me and I was told that my car was safe to drive. I was told they would contact me when the part came in and I was asked to give them a 5-star review. RED FLAG. Problem 1: I'm the only person who drives my car or rides in it. Unfortunately, about a month after I picked it up I drove my granddaughters around and found out that neither passenger side door could be opened from inside. That does NOT sound safe to me. What if we were in a wreck or the car had caught on fire? Problem 2: No one kept me informed of the status of the backorder. I called two months later and my advisor told me it would arrive in 7 working days and could be installed within 10. But still no one called me within 10. So I called again and my advisor told me to bring it in on Friday after 9. I asked if I would just be dropping off the car and picking up later in the day and he said Yes. I asked him to document on my records that the door lock issue needed to be fixed. Problem 3: On Friday I dropped off the car and had my son drive over to pick me up. But when my advisor came out he told me it would only take about 15 minutes or so, so I let my son leave. Then I reminded him about the door lock issue. He went back to talk to the technician, then came out and said it would be quick. Well, it wasn't. Problem 4: I'd already waited at least 45-50 minutes and I needed to get back to work, so I asked my advisor to give me an update. He talked to the technician, who was having a problem. So I had to call my son back to come pick me up. Problem 5: We both lost time from work. I lost over an hour and my son lost at least 35-40 minutes. It would have been so easy for the advisor to just take the keys when I arrived and let me come back later, but he led me down a long trail of poor communication, time estimation, and customer service. Problem 6: I will never get a survey for the follow-up work so this is my only possibility of leaving a poor review. I'm being thorough here, because if I had not talked to the manager when I picked up the car at the end of the day I would have left only 1 star. He was very kind and explained to the best of his ability how things work with the survey (I don't think they should work the way they do but he has no control over them). He also explained that there are clips in the doors that sometimes break during repair. I understand that, but if he and his staff already know that then every technician should be aware and held accountable for checking when repairs are complete, or complete to the point of pickup prior to delivery of delayed parts. Honestly, if it hadn't been for my convo with the manager I would probably never go back to his location. I've used Caliber for other collision repair in the past and never had a problem. Terrible experience. Please take your business elsewhere. I had to bring my car in three times and the repairs are still not complete. My service advisor (DM me for name) was horrible: poor or non-existent communication and dishonesty (gave conflicting excuses on the poor service, all starting with "To be honest with you..."). The GM was no help when I sought help to get the repairs completed. When I picked up my car the final time, it had 4 nearly flat tires and a chemical haze covered the windshield. Additionally, you might see that Caliber responds to negative reviews claiming to want to help if you email communitymanager@calibercollision.com. This is a SHAM. They do not respond. read more

It took them 2.5 weeks to basically replace my bumper. Getting my car fixed by these guys was an oddessy. I originally brought my car to the south congress location. Some how it ended all the way on menchaca. I should've known there would be problems. The work seemed thorough. Take that with a grain of salt because i know nothing about cars. Also, my repairs were basically cosmetic and the car was fine before i brought it in. The thing that bothered me the most was that they were super smug. They acted like they were doing me a favor by doing the work and there aren't a million other auto body shops in austin. It took them 5 days to order the parts and they acted like that was normal. Then another 12 to replace the bumper. Communication on their end was spotty. Sometimes, I'd get 2-3 text updates a day. Othertimes, i wouldn't hear from them for a week. I called if i didn't hear from them for 3-4 days. Sometimes they put me on hold and dropped my call. Other times, they would say they'd call back and never call back. read more

I was annoyed that they did not order replacement proximity sensors for the number which was going to be replaced, even though the sensor warning light indicated a problem. AAA recommended Caliber Collision so I took it in for an estimate to the Menchaca location in Austin, TX. They had it for a few days and when I got it back the dent was still there, only not as bad. After MULTIPLE communications, including going into the Caliber location and talking to my AAA rep (who was wonderful), they performed a paintless dent repair, after multiple delays in communication. Their attitude at the Caliber shop was what annoyed me. This is not to say that some of the other locations are not good, but the Menchaca location in Austin is a cautionary tale. I crumpled the front end of my 2018 Ford Mustang. I got several recommendations to go to Caliber Collision, and the Menchaca location was a preferred shop with my insurance. They did a fantastic job, restoring my vehicle to "good as new" condition. It's truly magical, what a beautiful job they did. I had excellent and courteous service from the receptionist and my technician. All communications with me and with my insurance company were prompt. I was given a thorough explanation with detailed photos of all the work that was completed. I went to Maxwell Ford Collision when I was rear ended last summer, because I thought a Ford shop would have my part in stock. It took 3 months, just to get a bumper! The communication was terrible, and the receptionist was so rude and unhelpful, that was enough to never go back. Caliber was such a refreshing experience. They were so helpful, and despite supply chain issues, they managed to obtain and assemble all 53 replacement parts, with welding and paint, in 3 weeks. And they were quite apologetic for it even taking that long. I was worried my car was an irreparable, total loss, but Caliber "restored the rhythm of my life"! My vehicle was damaged at your shop. I brought the vehicle back to repair the damage and the agent stated the part had been replaced. That was not the truth. The rep painted over the damage and I can clearly see that they did a terrible paint job. There is interior damage on every single door of my car and even on the center console. I am extremely upset that my car has new damages that were not there before arrival at this location. All I am asking for is that my vehicle's interior is in the same state that it was when it first arrived. I need all four doors and the console to be replaced. If only I could give this place 0 stars. I used this place a few years ago because they were recommended by my insurer. First estimate, 3 weeks and $3000. Finally ended at many angry calls, several additional estimates, $8000, and about 11 weeks. The car should have been totalled, but I guess they wanted the work so they'd do a little work and then find something else. The other problem was the work wasn't done correctly, Open the hood and you could easily see where "repairs" had been made. The car didn't drive quite right and I lost my shirt when I traded the car in. I dropped my insurer over this and I would never use this body shop again. read more

How do you lose a fender? And the license plate to the car too? I noticed how they leave their bumpers and fenders out in the open and instead of having the part(s) properly secured. I'll definitely pass along this to other ppl on how you lose a license plate and do the least amount to find or retrieve it. I went to Caliber because I was in an accident and the insurance company contracted with Caliber to fix my car. Brought my car in on Wednesday got it back on Friday. Staff was friendly and professional. Caliber kept me in the loop about the repairs. The inside of the car was cleaned when I got it back. I took my vehicle in to Caliber after some front end damage. The staff was very helpful getting the vehicle in and dealing with insurance. One form signed on the way in and out was all the paperwork necessary. The repair was done swiftly in about a week and a half. Upon receiving my vehicle I noticed some wrong parts were installed and the tech offered to keep the vehicle longer which I declined. The parts repairs on the front end damage were done relatively well except panel gaps between the bumper and the fender were wider than factory and slightly misaligned. Also the color temperature on the new supposedly OEM headlight doesn't match. Paint repairs were done well and no discernible difference in paint quality or color is visible between the repair and factory. An alignment was also performed and the results were unsatisfactory. The steering wheel was off center by one inch or more. While driving straight with the steering wheel in this position if the steering wheel was released the vehicle pulled hard to the right. This makes me believe the alignment was performed incorrectly in two ways. They did not attach a device to hold the wheel straight while performing the alignment and the machine being used must have been out of calibration or an inexperienced tech was the one using it. I have since had a different shop correct this alignment and they said it was very far from spec. About a month after receiving my vehicle back I started getting a check engine light related to a part that was replaced. I brought the vehicle back in and the tech Cord was very helpful working with me. He reset the code and said he would order parts. This never happened. I brought the vehicle back in after the code reappeared and a different tech confirmed it was their part so he said he would order a new one. Once again it never happened. Still get the occasional check engine light from this but ill tell you what I'm never bringing a vehicle to a Caliber Collision ever again in my life. read more

Brought my car here after someone hit me downtown. The damage was minor and more irritating than anything, but I wanted to get it taken care of ASAP. I came in for an estimate and then for the repairs and worked mainly with Drew. He was amazing!! He always made himself available when I came in and didn't pass my case off to someone else. My repairs were done two days ahead of schedule, and everything looked great when I picked it up. No hassle, just signed the check from the insurance company over to them and I was ready to go in 5 minutes. In case you need any more convincing: When I brought my car in, my driver's seat was broken and wobbly. This was unrelated to my accident, but Drew and his team bolted the seat down so I didn't have to worry about it anymore, free of charge!!! This was seriously above and beyond in my opinion and I am so grateful to them for doing that. I sideswiped a car parked next to me, damaging the rearview mirror and transferring some of the paint from my truck onto the driver's side door. I also dented my front right panel and found white paint on my green truck. My insurer, GEICO, offered Caliber as one of their approved shops. When I rolled up to Caliber Collision I noticed the first thing off was that it was very busy when I thought that was a sign of good things to come. Being 60 years old and needing a new yet I have a handicap sticker, well to my surprise there was a pickup truck in the handicap Zone with no handicap sticker no handicap license plate no place to put my car except next to his and I walked inside and said that I was going to call the police and the young lady walked over to the workstation and told whomever to move the truck they said it was a customer I kind of find that hard to believe scenes it was the only handicapped spot there this is Austin by the way, you don't park in handicap. They had three tries at fixing a rear end collision on my truck. The only thing the seemed to have got right were the parts they ordered and installed. Instead of replacing the entire bedside which got wrinkled, they made an attempt to just fill it. That's where all the problems really started. The arch and body line above the wheel are still not right. It looks nothing like any other '14 Ram bedside, and isn't even close to looking like the undamaged side. Than there is the tail light. You can clearly see that the bedside is slightly collapsed in because the gap at the front of the tail light is easily 2-3 times the size of the opposite side. I'm still trying to think of how this can be fixed with hopefully no more money out of my pocket. It was in their shop for almost 2 months the first go around. Really hope I'm not without my truck for that long again. read more

As a repeat customer I felt pretty confident about the job Caliber was going to do on my vehicle. The staff there were very friendly and professional, and my car was ready really fast (3 days). However, I was disappointed with a few things this time. First off, I was told my vehicle would be washed and ready at 8:00. When I arrived Roger asked if I could wait 15 minutes because the guys had not finished it the day before. Ok I had time to spare so it wasn't that big of a deal. However, I noticed when I got to work that a pretty big piece of paint was chipped off above the passenger door. When I took my vehicle back to Caliber I was told that they were NOT going to be held responsible for the chipped paint. I explained to Roger that the chip was NOT there when I bought my vehicle in.
