This place is amazing. We had the brisket sandwiches, and the sides are fantastic. The cornbread casserole, potato salad, beans and the mac and cheese were great. We sat outside and it was just a fantastic experience. They have their staff come around and clean the table off almost as quick as someone leaves. Very clean patio and the staff is great. we had 2 staff members come over to ask how everything was tasting. We'll definitely come back!! read more

Yum! I went at lunch time yesterday and the line was out the door but it moved fast. The employees were all very friendly and the food was excellent! The sweet & hot bbq sauce has so much flavor but the real stand out was the mac & cheese. Delicious! I could eat that every day. The desserts were overly sweet but the meats & sides were seriously amazing. This is definitely the best bbq I've found in the area. read more

If you want authentic down and dirty bbq. Then this is your place. I couldn't believe the size of their huge pots. Looked like you could put Anne tire hers on them. The beef was fork tender and the taste 5 star. They load your plate with oversized portions so you can plan on a to go bag. Try the loaded sandwich. ( well enough for two) read more

Absolutely wonderful BBQ! I had the pulled pork sandwich and it literally melts in your mouth. The homemade potato salad is delicious as well. The staff was extremely friendly and even let us sample some of their meats. We will definitely be back! I'm going for the brisket next time. read more

Delicious Texas style bbq. The brisket was the clear winner - tender and flavorful. The pulled pork, ribs and turkey were all wonderful as well. Sides included cole slaw, beans and Mac & cheese - all seemed freshly made and had great flavor and balance. The menu is tough to decipher as it's only sold by the pound and lunch for two with a couple of sides and drinks ended up costing $65. I think that a welcome addition would be a 2 or 3 item combo for $15-20 per person with 1-2 sides included. This way my son wouldn't have eaten all of the brisket. Well done. Great ambience and authentic decorations. The 3-4 "MOAB" smokers were giving off a wonderfully aroma. Loved the outdoor seating area with ample heaters. read more

This place came highly recommended by some friends so we thought we'd try it. It was about a 45 min drive for us but was well worth it!! We arrived right at 11am on a Saturday and it filled up quickly. We sat outside as we had our dog with us. We tried the brisket, pork, sausage links and Mac n cheese! All were very tasty as flavorful. My personal fav was the brisket with the spicy bbq sauce. Definitely will be back! read more

We are new to the area, but not new to good bbq. This was the real deal. The ribs were flavorful, moist, and fall off the bone tender. The brisket was moist, tender, not too fatty, and with a beautiful smoke ring and bark. We bought enough to last a couple of meals. Also got the corn casserole and Mac and cheese. The casserole was outstanding. The Mac and cheese were fine. On our way out the door, we met Jimmy the pit master. He's been there 27 years and takes pride in his work and it shows. They use mesquite in their massive smokers. The ribs go for 5 hours at 250. The brisket for 24. I will be back again soon. I wish they had rib tips and burnt ends, but what they have was really good. read more

This place ROCKS! OMGEE all the BBQ smoked meats are the best! My favorite is the juicy beef brisket! It's expensive ($31 a lb!) maybe more, but I don't mind paying for quality! And this place smokes meat like nobody's business!! So so good! And they are all so nice there too!! I love me some Caldwells BBQ!! My absolute favorite BBQ place! read more

We went on a Saturday night when it was very busy and the service was exceptional. They were quick to get customers through the line and the food was delicious. Did some shopping at the nearby furniture store and my cashier recommended Caldwell to me. I did a little hike across the street and good thing I did, the parking lot was jammed pack! I luckily made it in before the rush and placed and order for half a pound of brisket and half a pound of rib with a side of house sauce. They have plenty of country style in door and outdoor seating but I wanted to get this meal back to the hubby. The staff was friendly and they moved me thru pretty quickly. I will say out of the ribs/brisket the brisket was the better of the two but the sauce still helped. I'm used to a but more seasoning on my meat. Also the portions are weighed but they looked a little light to me. read more

I absolutely love this place so I decided to stop in for the birthday deal that they offer ($15 off) and I thought it was kind of strange that after mentioning to 3 of the employees that it was my birthday, none of them wished me. They kind of just stared blankly and asked what I wanted. It was kind of robotic. Anywho- at least the food is killer. That's probably the only thing that will keep me coming back. The service is quick and efficient, but not anything too warm and welcoming. read more

Let me just start off by saying I was thoroughly impressed. It takes a lot to get 5 stars from me, and this little BBQ spot got it. They have been here a little over 2 years, and going strong. To keep it simple, the food was outstanding, the customer service was superior, and the aesthetic/ vibe was EVERYTHING! It was our first time here, and we just stumbled across it randomly when shopping at the American furniture warehouse across the street. The patio was so cute with hanging lights, smokers, and picnic tables. Very rustic/ country vibe. The staff were super inviting and gave us great recommendations and even some of it for free because it was our first time! Like wow, who does that?! The food blew my mind. GET THE BRISKET. The most tender brisket I have ever had. I don't know how they do it but it blew my mind. The ribs are delicious, and I smothered them in their homemade barbecue sauce and it was perfection. The sausage was very good too. The Mac and cheese was good and the corn casserole was interesting yet satisfying. If you're in the area or want BBQ, GO HERE! Probably some of the best BBQ is AZ, hands down. read more

This place is on par with Little Miss BBQ for best BBQ in AZ. If you are a fan of Texas style BBQ this is a great place to get it. The location has a great ambience on the patio feeling like you are at a cookout. The food does not disappoint, I ordered the El Patron sandwich as it came with a sampling of each type of meat, solid brisket and pulled pork and very good smoked sausage. Highly recommend the banana pudding as it was a great finish to the dinner. As with most of these BBQ places expect to wait in line to place your order, we went on a Thursday night and still had about a 30 minute wait. read more

Delicious food and amazing service. Started off with a taste of brisket that is melt in your mouth perfection. Ordered the El General Patton. The sandwich was delicious. Just had an amazing experience. I totally screwed up and ordered from the wrong location. Just as I had turned to start my 20 mile journey to the other store a gentleman named Andrew stepped up and said "we can make that right here". He took a pic of my order and 5 minutes later the food was in front of me. Wow. They even called the other location to let them know that some dumb customer (me-lol) has picked up the food there. Great food and even better service!!!! read more

Five star brisket and pulled pork. 4.5 on the turkey. The smoke ring on the turkey was a bit tough and there was too much pepper for my taste. The sides were okay, not great slaw or potato salad. They both needed some flavor. Salt? Vinegar? Something. The spicy sauce is not spicy, just right. The mustard sauce was very good, maybe my favorite to cut through some of the richness of the meat. Will definitely go back, maybe try different sides. Very reasonably priced for what you get and rhetorical line will move along if you are ready to order. Hint. read more

Staff was nice but not friendly. Their A/C is currently down but should be repaired soon. More outside seating than inside. Brisket is super moist and delicious. Birria taco was equally good. This review is overdue but well deserved. Caldwell catered my son's wedding rehearsal dinner in August and everything was simply top notch. From ordering and coordinating to delivery and on site assistance they provided a high level of service. Now to the food!!! We ordered both brisket and pulled pork along with potato salad, beans, and cole slaw. Everyone raved about the food and I think a few even went back for third helpings! The portions were very generous. Great value for such a high quality product and service. Well done!! read more

Good BBQ is hard to come by in Arizona. I always told friends and family there were two spots you HAVE to try when visiting AZ: Little Miss and Eric's family BBQ. After trying Caldwell's recently for the first time, that list has grown to three. They say one star Michelin's are good restaurants, two stars signify a detour, and three stars you plan an entire trip around. Caldwell's is a three star Michelin restaurant in my opinion. If you're visiting AZ and looking to try the best BBQ we have to offer, Caldwell's is worth a trip. read more

Okay seriously one of the coolest places to eat. They take the 'theme' to the next level. They have multiple smokers in their dinning area next to picnic tables with baskets of napkins and sauce. The food is prepped in front of you and let me tell you this was the BEST Mac and cheese I have had. It is creamy without being 'eggy' and had the right amount of pepper. The service was kind, helpful and offered the 'southern hospitality' you would expect. We will be back read more
