Best BBQ in the east valley! We have been consistently impressed with the BBQ and the BBQ sauce is absolutely the best. Wish they did burnt ends as a regular menu item, otherwise everything is outstanding. Highly recommend the brisket, pulled pork, and the corn casserole. read more

We stop here every time we are in AZ, it's just that good. I love everything about this restaurant - the indoor and outdoor seating areas, the staff and of course the food. You'll get in here and want to try everything. Pro tip- if you can't make a decision on what to get, I recommend ordering the El General Patton sandwich. It comes with brisket (a must have at this place), pulled pork and a sausage link. Plus coleslaw and a choice of side. It's just amazing. read more

Everything was so good! I really liked the corn casserole. The employees were very kind. Even though you order at the counter and take your food to the table yourself, they still come check on you and make sure you're enjoying the food. read more

Caldwell County BBQ - Dixie V Sandwich, Mac n cheese, Aunt Susan's Corn Casserole - Barbeque Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

This is my first time at this location, I've been to their Mexi-qu location on Gilbert Rd. This location is off the beaten path and situated off in a side road. There is a huge outdoor patio with plentiful seating. The indoor seating area is decent sized. I was dining alone and wished there was solo seating like the other location. I felt guilty for taking up an entire table of four; for just one. The smells coming out of their smokers are glorious. Its cafeteria style. I ordered their brisket with Mac n cheese and Lala's beans. The food was fantastic great smoke flavor and texture. The Mac n cheese was a masterpiece. The cheese sauce had great body and flavor. Lots of Mac n cheese sauces can be extremely watery and loose. The beans are consistent to their other location. I would definitely come back. read more

Stumbled on Caldwell BBQ while visiting family and needed to grab lunch for our crew. I knew it was legit as soon as I parked and saw the four massive 1000 gallon smokers on the patio. Line was long but went quickly and the people serving were efficient and friendly. We also discovered an extra rib and more sausage than we ordered when we brought it home, thanks guys! Everything was delicious: brisket was tender, smoky and juicy; ribs were perfectly cooked but not pulling off the bone, jalapeno cheddar sausage was amazing and the pulled pork was :chefskiss: I'll definitely be coming back here when I'm in town again. read more

We LOVE Caldwell's Country BBQ. All the different meats are so well done and tender! We go as often as we can!

Wow!! We LOVE this place !! Pulling into the parking lot you're already drooling from the delicious smell! We came starving which was no problem because you walk up and get your order instantly! We decided to get the family of 4 deal and added sausage and a 1/2 lb of ribs. Everything was delicious ! They have 3 sauces each one was so good, they also have their sauces for sales which was great !! Definitely a great spot you can just pop into, it is very laid back and their patio area in so nice and relaxing! Great for large groups & families too!! read more

Our first time at Caldwell County BBQ as a family. We dabbled and ordered a little bit of everything. Kids enjoyed the Mac and cheese but we probably could have just ordered one side of it instead of three, but my kids are young, with little appetites. I wasn't a huge fan of the potato salad as it was a bit too much relish for me. Overall the meats were great. Outdoor and indoor seating. Circulation to order is a bit weird. If you enter from the south front door you open it up to the front line vs back, so you have to cut through people and the seating area to get to the back of the line if people are already there waiting in line. They should have placed the door on the southeast end of the building. Parking lot is weird, as there is a pole at the entry drive so people don't know which side to pull through or out of, and on top of the parallel parking stalls right up at the driveway. Doesn't quite make for a safe in/out, parking lot is tight, so if you plan on coming during peak time, park out on the street. Overall very yummy and glad other family recommended us to try it out. read more

Food tasted great and the service was good at the counter. Always something new being built there.

What an incredible hidden gem this place is! I only say hidden because it's tucked away in an understated spot, anyone who knows anything about BBQ knows about Caldwell. I am not a huge BBQ person. But if anyone offers to get me food, I always ask them to bring me the turkey salad and potato salad because the turkey salad is the most delicious salad ever made. Everything else is also delicious and flavorful. The staff is friendly and their outdoor seating area is so cute. The place is always clean and smells of great smoking meat. I would consider it kid friendly as the outdoor seating is mostly enclosed and there does usually tend to be some kids around. The only downside is that parking is pretty limited onsite, but there is street parking as well as a very short walk across the street to the American warehouse furniture parking lot. If you're not wanting to cook the turkey yourself for a holiday meal, Caldwell can do it for you, you'll need to order ahead! read more

Wow! We happened to see the crazy crowds of people going in and out and figured it must be good bbq. We were wrong... it's GREAT bbq. Even though they were busy the line moved quickly and the staff were so friendly. The brisket was perfectly smoked and their house made sweet heat bbq sauce might be my all time favorite! It doesn't look like much from the outside but definitely gives meaning to "great things come in small packages"! We will be back! read more

It's always a good time at Caldwell Country BBQ! Food is fantastic, staff is awesome, and both the inside and outside dining area is so relaxing. You can't go wrong eating here. The meat is tender & great. The BBQ salad is 10/10! So good & the dressing is amazing. It almost is like a BBQ ranch. It's perfect! Sandwich was superb! Mac n cheese is spicy but to cool it down we add a bit of the house bbq to it! read more

Absolutely delicious restaurant! We drove down from Scottsdale (35 min drive) and it was well worth it! We got the pulled pork, brisket and sides. The potato salad was my favorite side. The Mac & cheese was soooo flavorful. The back patio is adorable. Tons of picnic tables and lights. Also has heaters at every table. Don't let the location of being by the airport scare you. I'd say this is a must try restaurant!! Also, there was a long line to order food but the service was great. It moved extremely quickly. 10/10 all around experience read more

The food is served right in front of you! We went on a Friday for lunch and noticed the place had drawn a decent crowd! It was our first time here so I was pretty excited. Walking up I could immediately smell the BBQ! Yum! I ordered a smoked turkey sandwich and my husband ordered El General Patton! I loved the outside seating and the exposed rafters inside! It had a very cozy & comfortable feel! We sat outside in the sunshine and it was just such a beautiful day! As I poked around looking at the smokers, I was invited to take an even closer look! I was just so stoked! Talk about up close and personal & damn good food! read more

Sorry but not sure what the hype is about this place but it was for sure not the food! Expected lots for flavor from the meat(s) very disappointed that it was not flavorful without the sauce(s). Ordered a sandwich and the meat was not even warm?? Way too much fatty ends for my liking. The service and ambience were great. read more

Can't go wrong with stopping by Caldwell's! We came 15 minutes before they opened at 11:00 and the parking lot was completely full with a line forming! I had the Pavo Sandwich (which comes with a side) and the corn casserole - delicious! A great portion of food for the price! The turkey was absolutely delicious and juicy, and the corn casserole was out of this world! We loved the choices of sauces, I stuck with my favorite the mustard sauce. Amazing! For two people, with two drinks, it was about $30. The outdoor seating and patio area were really pretty and nicely decorated. They have big trees and misters too that provided nice shade and coolness while eating. We can't wait to go back! read more

Where is the 6th star? This Kansas City girl (and aspiring KCBS judge) is always looking for good BBQ in the Phoenix area and when we travel elsewhere. For several years I have been known to say that there is only 1 BBQ place in Phoenix worth eating at, but now I have to say there is indeed another. One of my co-workers who lives in Gilbert mentioned this place to me several weeks ago and I finally found myself out that way and decided to grab some dinner to go. First of all, they are doing a good job with Covid precautions. There is a tall Plexiglas screen in front of the carving station (which is always a good idea) that gives several feet of protection and everyone I saw in the food service line was wearing gloves and masks. And they have spaces marked on the floor to keep your distance. Finally, the patio is lovely and the tables appear to be spaced well and they are abundant. I suspect that part of the parking lot was given up for the eating area, but I had no trouble getting a spot on a Saturday at 5:30. There is not a lot on the menu, which makes it easy. You tell the meat slicers what you want and they cut it and weigh it. I am a burnt end fan, and they were happy to accommodate me with some beautiful charred goodness and they even had some crunchy barky stuff in the pulled pork so I added just a bit to taste it. And to round out the meats, I got 2 ribs. The rub they use is clearly salt and pepper based as I could taste plenty of both and it definitely seemed to be Texas style. The ribs were perfect for me. They didn't fall off of the bone, until you had it in your mouth. No tugging or pulling needed, and every bit of the meat came right off. The sides we got were great (beans and the corn casserole) as well. My only complaint is that there are no fries or onion rings, but I rarely find either at Texas style places. I guess I will be finding excuses to get back out that way. read more

Have to say this place is amazing, I took so much pictures but somehow lost them all. The corn casserole was the bomb. The brisket and pulled pork was right on. I loved the outside seating. Definitely worth the drive. read more

Well it's not a good find . It's like your traditional barbecue place and wait in line for your food and made it more high end but the bbq wasn't. Pull pork was nasty and nasty, St. Louis Ribs super dry , mac n cheese was okay and The beans were good . Walking up to the spot was nice and look like it was going to be good but looks like they spent to much on the design and deco and they should invest in some misters or something. It's a 2 star because I'm on the fence on a 1.5-2.5 so I gave it a 2 ... read more

Shopping at American home furniture can make you hungry, and luckily this place is right across the parking lot! When we walked up to the counter to order, we were handed a sample of moist brisket that fell apart immediately. Hubby ordered himself some of that, while I opted for the tried and true Pulled pork sandwich on a soft Hawaiian roll. My Side of Mac n cheese was creamy and flavorful. The Coleslaw was crisp and cool and tasted great on top of the sandwich. The Potato salad was the only low point. It was relatively bland and boring. They offer a pile of crisp and fresh onions, pickles, red and green jalapeños. We had two employees check on us while we were eating, and one even got us extra pickles! We loved all three sauces, but our favorite was the unique mustard sauce. It is obvious that they care about their customers and the experience. read more

Amazing BBQ! Our new favorite place for it!! Staff is super friendly! If your anywhere close bring your appetite!

We picked up some barbecue takeout and were already excited about the food--but the customer service took the experience to the next level. On our way out, one of the pitmasters, Steve, stopped us and gave us a quick tour of the smokers. He shared some awesome pro tips for smoking brisket at home and was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. It was such a cool and unexpected moment that made us feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated as customers. The food was fantastic, and Steve's hospitality made it even more memorable. Ben, he's the true star today. I usually don't tip when it's a self serve place. He made me regret that in a big way. My original visit four years ago was made shortly after opening and I am sure it was a huge task. Finally went back to give them another try and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. The food was spot on. The brisket was amazing. It was juicy and tender with an incredible bark on it. The turkey was incredibly moist and tender. They have Bug Red in a bottle. We drove all the way from the west valley to go for my birthday (March 20th) lunch and it was so worth the drive. It was amazing! Our great experience started right away when we were offered samples of yumminess and continued the entire time we were there. We got to meet Ben who will be the manager for the new westside location YES! We were even given extra bbq sauce when someone noticed how much food we were packing to take home..we purposely ordered extra food so we could experience more yumminess. The food was so good, hot, flavorful, tender and more tender. We had ribs, pulled pork, brisket, sausage and ohhhh and my husband had the General Sandwich. I think its named that because it generally has all the meats on the menu . Oh and the beans were perfect. The corn casserole...I would drive an hour again to get more it was so delicious.
