As has. Even said before, it's just OK. Service is lacking. Airport pricing, no surprise. The gal working the cash register was having some challenges figuring out a few things. Didn't want me to pay in cash. Ok, so, we switch to card. I got a black and white cookie and she was going to charge me for a black and white cupcake ($1 more). It was a whole thing just to pay. The cookie icing was on point, but cookie was more like a cake. Best black and white cookies are closer to a shortbread consistency with a little bit of crunch to a cookie. No crunch here, so if that's your jam and time is no object, go for it.

Well what can you ask inside an airport terminal for cupcakes?? I think cake tin already had everything that I could think of - cute decoration (with adorable plates hanging on the wall), lovely cupcakes (though I haven't got the chance to try them out) coming in all sizes, warm service from the cashier (she picked the best apple for me!). I almost threw it a five star before I realized that I should leave some room before I am trying out the cupcakes haha. Got the Americano as usual, loved it! The best coffee/dessert shop in an airport.

A cute little store in the Delta Terminal. I love this place! Unfortunately, when I went on a recent trip they were out of the mini cupcakes. But, that just meant more deliciousness with the regular sized cupcakes. I got the chocolate peanut butter and red velvet. Both were decadent and scrumptious. My mom and I scarfed them down so fast! The place is small with only two tables. But, it was empty when I went midday. The woman working the register was super friendly and attentive. Great experience!

    Beautiful large cupcakes!

Decent bake shop in the airport. It's a small little shop near gate 35 in terminal 4 - Delta. I find it to be reasonably priced for airport dessert fare. $4 for a very large cupcake or for the muffins. I got a blueberry muffin and it was soft and not super sweet. They have coffee, waters, teas, and other drinks. Their display is definitely enticing! Nice sweet and light snack to grab and take on the plane. I really enjoyed it on my evening flight back home with that watered down cup of coffee they offered on the plane.

Cute concept. But I wasn't thrilled with the sweets. My cupcake was tasty but wasn't moist at all. Won't be back.

I have to agree with others' reviews about the very unfriendly and uncaring service at Cake Tin in terminal 4. The lady behind the counter could not bring herself to make eye contact or say or do anything nice the whole time I interacted with her. But the food wasn't terrible in my opinion. I got a coffee and a lemon pound cake and though the lemon cake was a little too neon yellow, it was actually pretty tasty and seemed pretty fresh. The coffee was scalding hot so be careful as you add your fixins and take that first sip!

I resisted the urge to indulge and went for a coffee and water instead but just had to check out this place. Super cute! Gummy candy, pastries, cupcakes (mini and regular size). A cute little shop in an otherwise very utilitarian place (airport)...

Here's how my cupcakes looked when I opened my box.

Walked. Was not greeted. Waited for service while 3 ladies behind the counter chatted. I said hello?? Then they asked what I wanted from the register. I asked them to come to the showcase. They said they could see it from there. I ordered my food then went to check out. Was told to put my card in the chip reader but I didn't have one. So she said swipe it as she turned her attention to the other girl. Then handed me my receipt not saying thank you. Then walked away. Very unpleasant and rude. Not what I was expecting from such a beautiful store front. JFK location.

Overpriced airport cupcakes, this place was honestly heaven during my 7 hour layover in JFK...

Best "store" cupcakes I've had in a while. The cakes we had were moist and the flavors were decent. Some of the frostings left a lot to be desired but you can't win them all. The decor is cute and simple. For an airport shop, the prices were reasonable.

Walked off my LAX -JFK red-eye to the gorgeous view of this cupcake shop. Kimberly and Nafeeza were charming and engaged, and the cupcakes were fantastic! So was the latte!

There's usually a line of some length during peak hours and especially around the holidays. You can tell by the sheer volume of baked goods and cakes available in their window displays that they sell a lot daily. This location is on the main drag of the little downtown section of Forest Hills, the baked goods in the front window display connect to a tall and long glass counter along the left side of the store that extends almost to the back. At the back middle and along the right side of the wall there's seating for about two dozen people at small cafe tables. They carry an assortment of traditional cakes (full and sliced), pies, cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream and coffee/tea drinks. A wide variety of flavors in each, so you're bound to find something sweet to satisfy most here. They are a classic bakery so from what I can tell, they don't carry items that are gluten, dairy or nut free. I've purchased their apple pie, fruit tart, berry napoleon, red velvet and chocolate fudge cakes from this or other locations in the past and they're all solid choices for desserts to share with a larger group, though I find a lot of their cake options to be on the richer side. My most recent encounter with their cakes came in the form of a slice of their seven layer cake $9.95 which is thin layers of yellow cake alternating with chocolate cream mmm pretty tasty, and their caramel cake $9.95 which had a layer of chocolate cake in the middle, sandwiched by caramel cream and white cake on either side. The latter had a pronounced caramel flavor that was enjoyable though a bit too much cream for me. My preference would be for their chocolate cakes over other cake flavors here. Their apple pie is one of my favorite apple pies anywhere tho!

However, the staff were also super warm and accommodating, and the quality of the items we got (gluten free vanilla and chocolate cupcakes) was great. The actual cake bases of both types were moist and flavorful. I could've gone with a little less frosting and more cake, but it made for a very aesthetically pleasing topping with the vibrant colors, sprinkles, and glitter. I kept getting strong hints of rose flavor from the pink frosting on the chocolate cupcakes so I'm not sure if they infused it with that. Overall, a great little spot, and really a savior for procrastinators looking for sweet goodies to take to a gathering when other last-minute ideas fall through!

Growing up in Northeast Queens, bakeries were everywhere. You could walk into almost any…read moreneighborhood and have your pick of incredible baked goods, often from family-run shops specializing in different ethnic traditions. Over the years, as many of those bakers retired, the number of quality bakeries slowly dwindled. One by one, many of the old favorites disappeared. So when Aphrodite's opened, I was eager--and a bit skeptical--to see if it would be worth the trip. Then I tried their mini cheese empanadas, and that settled it. These little sweet treats are unbelievably addictive. I've brought them to gatherings and shared them with friends and family, and without fail they disappear almost instantly. I honestly can't think of another baked item I've purchased that has been so universally loved. Since then, I've started exploring more of their pastries and baked goods, and each visit has been a pleasant surprise. One item seems better than the next. No, the prices are not cheap--but the quality absolutely justifies it. In this case, you really do get what you pay for. If you stop in, do yourself a favor and try the mini cheese empanadas--you'll understand why they've become my go-to order.
