We were introduced to this restaurant on our trip to Santa Barbara this week and we were very pleased. I ordered eggs benedict, which was delicious, though the Canadian bacon was too thick for my taste, but the hollandaise was nice and lemony and generous. I had tried to decide between the eggs benedict and the biscuits with gravy and am sad, now, that I didn't choose the other, because looking at the bready stuff of our companions, I imagine the biscuits would have been incredible. Good food with large portions! Came here with some friends for Sunday brunch. It has a diner vibe to it, vibrant and sunny. We sat inside at a booth. Parking was easy as there's a lot. The menu has vegetarian options so that was nice. There were a few items I was in between as everything looked good. I went with the cream cheese and green onion omelette because that looked the most interesting and I'd never seen cream cheese on an omelette before. Also got a biscuit as my side. The omelette was so good! At first I thought it wouldn't taste good because there was so much cream cheese. But it was fluffy and delicious. We are in Goleta from out of town and looked up some higher rated spots in the area. The family we are staying with lives within walking distance so we gave this a shot. It was okay. The bacon was dry and literally like jerky. The food was way overpriced for the portions and I am pretty sure the spinach in my omelette was frozen. One of the items we ordered was forgotten altogether. Kids items were also fairly overpriced and the pancakes also appeared to have likely been frozen beforehand. Our waitress was very bubbly and kind; she gave us recommendations for local activities. We gave feedback to a guy who checked in with us before we left. read more

Speedy service! Seated quickly, orders taken and they checked back on us a lot. Corned beef hash benedict special was tasty, although I didn't care for the thick slice of onion under the hash. Bf and I love eating here. I'm obsessed with their oatmeal, but we both also love their eggs and their hash browns.

Ironically the Cajun food was the only food that was not good. The gumbo was filled with amazingly cooked seafood; shrimp, fish, and other ingredients. But the only thing that ruined the gumbo was the heinous broth that they used. I've cooked gumbo many times on my own and what I can say is that they didn't cook the gumbo long enough. The roux NEEDS TO BE COOKED OUT otherwise the whole thing just tastes like bitter chalk. Other than that the breakfast times are standard but I definitely would not recommend the Cajun food. Roux is an essential part of Cajun cuisine and if they didn't cook it out for my gumbo, they're probably not gonna cook it out for the other Cajun stuff. read more

Had to check out the new Cajun Kitchen in Goleta. Had the chile verde omelette. It didn't look all that appetizing and average at best. The coffee is sub par if you are an avid coffee drinker. The ambiance was cool. I got there at 7am and the parking lot was empty. I was warned to come early and not later otherwise I'd be parking across the street. Few days late but here it is!! So Saturday morning couple of friends and I had planned to have breakfast together. I arrived and friends were already at the table, the host showed me to the table and was pretty friendly. Soon after lady came asking for drink orders, of course coffee it was. Also really liked that they had small coffee creams, and small amount of sugars( which means no sharing from customer to customer. We placed our orders, and all was brought out on a timely matter! So here are the few things that were not perfect, my friend ordered her omelet with no cheese and it had cheese, and she just kept it and ate it. I ordered the chili verde omelet, which was cook fine and seasoned perfect. So I asked for a biscuit since I was craving grape jelly on that warm soft, pillowy dough but was completely disappointed when I got to it, it was hard and dry, took a bite and just could not eat it. When the waiter brought us the check, I did mention it. He did offer to bring a different one, but we were practically finished so I declined. All in all most was good, just those couple things. Something about Cajun Kitchen I cannot fathom. Sure it's great food and most of the time decent service. We visited the newest location in Goleta near Fairview this morning and it was as good as i expected it would be. We waited 35 minutes for breakfast. Which I only do for some few places in this area. Perhaps it is the uniqueness of the place. Cajun food is not alien to Santa Barbara's people. The Palace Grill is famous for its Cajun Cuisine. The Cajun kitchen seems to be a different style of Cajun Breakfast. Its prices are slightly high compared to out of towners but moderate compard to locals. I like the food and the service. I also like the cleanliness of the bathrooms and common areas. What is still amazing to me is regardless of its uniqueness every morning during the week and every weekend morning and afternoon, each and every location is packed. Not every eatery can boast the same... sure there are some quiet mornings for most but I have not seen one at the Cajun kitchen. What is it about Cajun Kitchen that brings them in droves? Ya got me. I love the place because I love cajun cuisine. Maybe deep down we all have some Cajun blood in us and we can't get enough. Maybe we are predisposed to crave chicken and waffles, andouille sausage and shrimp jambalaya. Whatever it is I cannot fault this establishment or the others. A lot of people recommended this place to me. I decided to go have breakfast at this place since I was near by the wait was about 20 minutes. Since it was really busy I'm taking about 10am someone came to our table asked us if we would like something to drink we got our waters and coffee right away. Then 10 minutes later someone came to take our order. There's a man going around refilling everyone's coffee which is nice since the food took about 10min I thought that was really fast.
