First time here and love how fast the service is. Got our drinks and orders down fast. Lots of booth seats. It got pretty busy on a Saturday brunch time. Long lines as we were leaving. Not a lot of parking but there's parking across the street. Free refills on coffee is nice. Only one stall per gender bathroom. The veggies Benedict seem to have an entire bag of spinach. It was awesome. I added avocado to mine. Saved half for later. We also got the vegan burrito. Massive. Funny how it's a slice of Orange next to the burrito. Not a fruit salad or anything. Okay in my opinion this was the breakfast highlight of my trip. My son and I came in with a friend and I can say this was the best breakfast I think I have ever ordered. I so wanted to eat it all, but this was huge. My coffee cup never even got close to empty the staff seemed to just show up and fill it constantly. This place wasn't huge but it was clean and the food came out fast. I was almost going to order the jambalaya with eggs but didn't. I guess I will have to come back to try it. Cajun Kitchen is a local favorite that we've visited many times at the downtown location, but it's the first time we are dining at the Goleta location. We arrived around 11am and there was a 15 minute way for a table for 4. There are several parties waiting outside already. We oredered coffee, beignets, kids French toast, crawfish etouffee, breakfast burrito with chorizo, and breakfast burrito with bacon and smothered with chili. Of all the dishes we ordered, we felt most of the food is a bit lacking. The powdered sugar beignets are bite sizes and the flavor stood out was a bit salty and dry. the bacon in the breakfast burrito was so hard and dry it's hard to enjoy it. I felt the crawfish etouffee was very decent. But it was very spicy this time. The service was great and staff was friendly. But maybe next time we will try some other breakfast/brunch options next time. read more

Plenty of great breakfast and lunch options. I went with a chile verde omelette. It was filled with enormous chunks of pork and a few onions with a generous amount of jack cheese, then topped with sour cream. I'd have preferred more chile verde broth and vegetables, but it was good regardless of my specific preferences. Hashed browns were cooked to my liking crispy) but not delighted with them; a bit of an off-taste about them (oil issue?) Sour dough toast was also good and my cup was kept filled with good coffee. Another fantastic breakfast spot that continues to serve excellent food! Staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming. I tend to stick with my chilaquiles and they never disappoint. It has a delicious green sauce with eggs, crema, slices of avocado, and a couple of hot sausages on the side. After eating it for a bit, it becomes savory creamy salsa making every bite super flavorful. My only frustration is the parking when the restaurant is packed but I just end up parking across the way. Overall the restaurant's food and service quality is impeccable and I'm looking forward to trying it again. read more

We have been on a hunt for places that take the effort to offer gluten-free pancakes and waffles and this place has it! Breakfast is so good! I ordered the blackened salmon for my breakfast. The portion was so big! I think I could have shared it with my son. They have their own parking lot. I saw someone order two entrees: one savory and one sweet. Really tasty diner food. I enjoy Roz's omelette, jambalaya and eggs, beignets, and chilaquiles. All the food is flavorful and no frills. Prices have gone up, on par with the fancier restaurants in the SB area so I have to knock them down for that. This location has the most updated interior and is more modern looking than the other ones in the area. This has been a Santa Barbara staple for a while but with the price increases, it's sometimes hard to justify compared to one of the more upscale places downtown. read more

We were up here visiting a friend and she recommended this place. Super cute location, we sat outside since the weather was nice. There isn't to much heavy traffic to the cars driving was minimal. Very nice lunch at Cajun Kitchen today, October 16. Super service, great food, including Shrimp, Salmon and sandwich dishes. No complaints at all. Cornbread on the side is a bonus. Knowing they don't have tartar sauce, I brought some spices, got a cup of mayonnaise and added lemon juice and Tabasco sauce and made my own, to have with the Blackened Salmon. All good. read more

Ooof!! This place is amazing! The wait staff is super attentive and they are fast, like the Flash! They refill your drinks when needed and are constantly checking in on you. Their menu is pretty expansive and I recommend them 125%. EV owners would rejoice having a charger across the street and recharging at this fine dining place :) I cannot recommend enough. I haven't been here in years (5+) since I moved away but while visiting and I tried it again...Still delicious as ever! The chilaquiles are a bit different than your normal Mexican style with the andouille sausage, but still super tasty regardless. Had breakfast here this morning. 7 of us fit nicely in the booth. We ordered the beignets (2 orders) for appetizers before our meal. Very delicious pillows of sweet fried triangles dusted with powder sugar. I loved poking a hole in them and filling them up with maple syrup. Very delicious! For the first time we passed by and there was no line at this location so we gave it a try. I'd been battling gout so I couldn't have my favorite shrimp and grits, or even jambalaya. Instead, I had the blackened chicken. It was a little bland and disappointing. A sprinkle of creole seasoning I discovered among the condiments helped. Rice was OK, but the coleslaw was bland too. It came with a big slab of cornbread, which is always good. She was happy with her breakfast burrito, it was the same quality we're used to at the other locations. Service was average, not what we're used to. The bland chicken and the service pulled my rating down to three and a half stars, but I rounded up to four because the shrimp and grits probably would have made me very happy that day. read more

I think one thing for me was the chopped green bell pepper mixed in the hash. Every time I come to Cajun Kitchen, I feel a bit let down. I hate to say it because it's such an iconic location, but the food seems to just miss the mark each trip. But the pancake itself was super dry, no matter how much syrup you soaked it in. So it was just a bit of a let down. And the eggs benedict had all the makings of a satisfying meal, but they were so extremely watery (from poaching?) and runny that the whole plate was soon drowning in yellow goo. Everything was drenched, so that the English Muffin beneath became soggy, and the rest of the egg was basically just laid out on the plate instead of in my stomach. The flavors were still decent, though, and Cajun Kitchen's hash browns always go hard, so it wasn't a terrible meal overall. Came here for brunch and ordered the chilaquiles and gluten free chocolate chip pancakes. The chilaquiles were pretty good, and I loved that it came with sausage. I also got my egg over medium and the yolk gave a bit more creaminess to the chilaquiles. I knocked a star off because of their pancakes. Portions are huge here. The food is legit! I ordered the fried chicken and it didn't disappoint. My boyfriend ordered a few dishes because he couldn't decide and finished both of them. We were full for a majority of the day on these meals alone. We wanted something hearty before we made our way back to the bay area. This is a solid choice. Prices are decent as well. They also have outdoor seating. If you're looking for a twist on Southern classics, you would probably like it here. I also spotted the Linda Linda's and their crew walk in as we were exiting. Good food, fast service. I had the Classic Benedict with a side of grits and a small gumbo. The eggs were perfectly cooked and there was a generous portion of hollandaise. The grits were hot and butter already in. The gumbo was nice and dark, with lots of shredded chicken and cut up Andouille. It was served over a smaller portion of rice than I like but it worked with the gumbo so no stars removed simply because I am a sucker for tons of rice. The spice level was there but not so much that it was the only flavor and not so much that you couldn't add some Tabasco (which I did, although I'd have liked it better if they had Crystal but again that's my personal preference and it did not distract from the dish so no stars lost). We had a 2 family party and right off the bat told the waitress it would be separate checks and never had to remind her after that. Apparently this is the only "good" brunch spot in Goleta/SB (due to the lack of variety). This cafe is comparable to the likes of Bill's Cafe and Scramblz. Quick retro diner type brunch spot. First off, amazing staff who are always smiling and friendly towards each person that comes in. Service was great from start to finish. Parking here is not the greatest especially during peak hours. Portions are HUGE, perfect for sharing or 1 hungry person....... Beignets, you must try their beignets when coming here! It was super warm, light and soft. Not too sweet. However, I like mine sweet so pass that extra syrup my way! 1-2 beignets were just enough for me. For once I didn't order an Eggs Benedict!! Instead I got the Shrimp & Andouille Grits -- sautéed shrimp and andouille sausage in a bowl of grits w/ melted cheddar, topped with 2 eggs any style of your choice. I went with sunny-side up. OMG, I couldn't finish and had to take some home. Seriously mouth-watering just looking at pics of the food. My friend got the Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy. I've only been to 2 brunch places in SB: Boathouse @ Hendry's Beach and Cajun Kitchen. They are very different in terms of food offerings, quality, atmosphere, and price. One is more "fancier" and trendy; offers aesthetically pleasing "fresh" "quality" dishes. And the other is more "New Orleans influenced retro diner vibes that is much cheaper." Although I still prefer the former. This is a still an affordable solid brunch spot in the Goleta area. I'd say give this place a try! read more
