Service was fantastic, really quality staff members but overall the food was overall disappointing. Ambiance is classic American diner. I love beignets and immediately ordered them to start. Instead of getting the type beignets I was expecting (light crust, airy center) these were more like donut holes. Thick and doughy. They tasted fine, but wasn't a classic beignet. I also ordered a bowl of gumbo and it was sort of flavorless and the meat instead wasn't very appealing. Also the rice added seemed old and was clumping together in the bowl. The other person in my party ordered the Chilaquiles which had nice spicy sausage and avocado slices which were very tasty. Theres really something for everyone here! Went out for brunch with ~8 people and we only had to wait around 20 minutes, which was super fast for a Sunday. Once we were seated, youre greeted with a massive menu and immediate beverage service. They were attentive the whole time! Great food all around, though some of the eggs were a bit undercooked. My veggie mishmash was super good, and you can add cajun seasoning at your table alongside any hot sauce and ketchup youd like. I can't believe all of the Cajun locations keep the food so authentic and consistent! The service is always stellar, especially sitting at the bar! I love their chilaquiles and their yogurt parfait whenever I need a quick pick me up! They also have fresh squeezed orange juice which helps soothe myself into a nice morning. I came here on a Saturday morning, no reservation made and we waited for about 20ish minutes. I really loved the diner vibes in this place! I always really enjoy being able to see the kitchen rapidly working, it literally makes me feel like I'm watching an episode of The Bear LOL We ordered beignets for the table and I got the Ranchers Omelette with a singular pancake. The beignets were DELICIOUS! I had never had beignets before and always wanted to try them, these definitely did not disappoint I really enjoyed my Ranchers Omelette, the one thing I would change is just a bit less bacon inside the omelette. It felt like some bites were entirely bacon and I wasn't getting much eggs (I LOVE eggs). In general, the omelette was very good though! As for the pancake, that gets an easy 5 stars I'm a major pancake lover and this pancake was very fluffy, held onto the syrup and butter incredibly well and still had that melt in your mouth feel. LOVED it! The whole meal was super filling, we even had leftovers! For two meals plus an appetizer plus two drinks (orange juice and cranberry juice), we spent just over $80 (including tip). Really underwhelmed with the food, not sure why it was so highly raved about on reddit. Got seats at the bar for brunch on a Sunday which was great! I ordered the Crazie Shirley's scramble with a biscuit as it was marked as one of the favorite items. My boyfriend got the jambalaya with a biscuit. We watched from the bar as they re-microwave all their biscuits. And the biscuit was probably the best part of the meal :/ Which doesn't say much. Excellent breakfast with college boy and husband on our Santa Barbara trip. This bustling restaurant seated us immediately. Server Alma is perky and cheerful, very efficient and never missed a beat. I had a decaf and it was filled as often as I desired. The shrimp and andouille grits were made to order and I was able to request no pork sausage. Hooray! It was still a zippy tasty dish with nice rich cheddar grits. Son had the Andouille Breakfast, a nice fat spicy sausage cut the long way and griddled till brown. His scrambled eggs were perfect, a big portion and the home fried potatoes were happily devoured. Husband ordered a pancake breakfast and struggled to finish it all. We were in Santa Barbara and came here because of the great reviews, but it was a major disappointment. The service wasn't bad, but the food was very unseasoned--which is strange considering the word 'Cajun' is in their name. There's no way these are actual Cajun recipes; everything lacked salt and flavor. Just because a restaurant has Tony Chachere's seasoning on the tables doesn't give it credibility. Even the hash browns were bad and tasted like they didn't use fresh oil. If you're expecting Louisiana flavor and have actually experienced Cajun food, this is not the place. I had the crab Benedict and was underwhelmed; my husband had the fried chicken Benedict and felt the same. It's not even good enough for us to want to come back for eggs. Back in the day Cajun Kitchen was the place to go for breakfast. Went there yesterday for the first time in several years. My wife's omelet had processed cheese slice, what the? You can't afford granted real cheese? Hueavos Rancheros, had tostada rounds? The menu said tortillas? The coffee was so bad, I can't even keep going, its a crying shame, the staff was as warm as going to a funeral. The biggest disappointment of all, the omelet was $18 and my H. First time here and came during a family trip. Grateful we were able to be seated right away for a party of 7. I got the shrimp and grits. The flavor was great, especially the sausage. Cajun Kitchen used to be on of my favorite breakfast and lunch restaurants, no longer. The ambiance never was very good, the place is noisy at the best of times and ear splitting at it's worst. The food used to be consistently good, but now is hit or miss. With some BIG misses. Service was always just OK before, but now is trending to barely adequate. Too Bad !! I ordered the fried chicken benedict with the gravy on the side and the bf ordered the shrimp po boy. Everything came out quick and the food was hot. The egg wasn't over cooked and the fried chicken was crispy. The chicken was breaded heavily, but still tasty. The biscuit was thick but not dry. The shrimp po by was stacked! This place has huge portion sizes. I was told that my plate was on the smaller side, and I still thought it was massive lol. We also saw some guys ordering the biscuits, and it genuinely looked like they were bringing out to individual birthday cakes for each of them. The gumbo and jambalaya were awesome. So me and my family were seated at an appropriate time at first it seemed great. So we ordered orange juice right it didn't come till the end of the meal. Which is fine but our food was not; it came cold and the chicken looked and tasted like it was fried in old grease. Here visiting beautiful Santa Barbara for the New Year's weekend and this is our final stop. We love New Orleans and we happen to find this place on Yelp. There was a huge parking lot but it was full. The restaurant itself is very loud and lively. I love the atmosphere and vibe. Perfect for families and people of all ages. It was also packed but no wait. It has an open kitchen and is a Cajun restaurant . To my surprise I was able to spot Tony Chachere seasoning in the kitchen. But of course it is a Cajun kitchen restaurant, lol. When I looked at my table I also saw that they had some on the table. I ordered the special with the beginets and the mimosa for $27.99. Great breakfast spot in the area with some really tasty food & friendly service. I didn't realize we came right before they were closing but the staff was very friendly and got our food out quickly. I ordered the fried chicken benedict with hash browns which was an insane amount of food. The fried chicken was a huge piece, and the gravy on it brought it all together. It came with bacon and biscuit underneath. We tried the onion rings as well as the beignets, both were super tasty. This has been on my list to visit. They were closed the 1st time but glad we went back! The staff is very friendly and the service was great. The shrimp & grits were so good. Water cup was dirty with floating debris. Ice makes the soda terrible tasting (or maybe the fountain needs to be cleaned?). We order from Cajun Kitchen regularly and the food has always been excellent! My particular favorite is corned beef hash and eggs. They always get my order correct even with the special way I like it cooked. The sides we frequently order, such as hash browns, bacon, and various sausages have always been very good and cooked correctly. Everything tasted like it was made with lots of love! Even the coffee was scrumptious! I had 3-4 cups so I was not mad at paying $4 for it, they kept pouring it up & even offered to go cups.
