Cute place with great food and attentive staff. I got the jambalaya which was delicious with a nice kick to it. I was too full to enjoy the corn bread it came with. They have some vegan/veg options too which was greatly appreciated by our group. read more

This spot came up when I was looking up places to eat in the area, and we conveniently were close by, so decided to dine here for breakfast. We found street parking, and when we entered, I was reminded of a Denny's type vibe, with the seating set up. It seems like a no-frills place, which is fine because we're here for the food. What we got: - French quarter omelet: this had avocado, hot sausage, mushrooms and jack cheese. This was a solid omelet. Nothing spectacular, but it was good. Lots of mushrooms, and the sausages had a little kick of heat and flavor - Beignets: these were bite-size french-style doughnuts topped with powdered sugar. I liked these, they were pillowy, and sweet. The diner was pretty busy, but we were seated right away. Everyone was efficient and courteous. read more

Theres really something for everyone here! Went out for brunch with ~8 people and we only had to wait around 20 minutes, which was super fast for a Sunday. Once we were seated, youre greeted with a massive menu and immediate beverage service. They were attentive the whole time! Great food all around, though some of the eggs were a bit undercooked. My veggie mishmash was super good, and you can add cajun seasoning at your table alongside any hot sauce and ketchup youd like. While cornbread is... not my thing, the others said it was delicious. read more

I came here on a Saturday morning, no reservation made and we waited for about 20ish minutes. I really loved the diner vibes in this place! I always really enjoy being able to see the kitchen rapidly working, it literally makes me feel like I'm watching an episode of The Bear LOL We ordered beignets for the table and I got the Ranchers Omelette with a singular pancake. The beignets were DELICIOUS! I had never had beignets before and always wanted to try them, these definitely did not disappoint I really enjoyed my Ranchers Omelette, the one thing I would change is just a bit less bacon inside the omelette. It felt like some bites were entirely bacon and I wasn't getting much eggs (I LOVE eggs). In general, the omelette was very good though! As for the pancake, that gets an easy 5 stars I'm a major pancake lover and this pancake was very fluffy, held onto the syrup and butter incredibly well and still had that melt in your mouth feel. LOVED it! The whole meal was super filling, we even had leftovers! For two meals plus an appetizer plus two drinks (orange juice and cranberry juice), we spent just over $80 (including tip). I'd say this place was a good bang for our buck! read more

Really underwhelmed with the food, not sure why it was so highly raved about on reddit. Got seats at the bar for brunch on a Sunday which was great! I ordered the Crazie Shirley's scramble with a biscuit as it was marked as one of the favorite items. My boyfriend got the jambalaya with a biscuit. We watched from the bar as they re-microwave all their biscuits. And the biscuit was probably the best part of the meal :/ Which doesn't say much. The scramble had more spinach than eggs and the spinach and mushrooms were bland and unflavorful. Potatoes were okay but some were way over cooked. My boyfriend said jambalaya was just okay Overall not worth the money wouldn't come back read more

Excellent breakfast with college boy and husband on our Santa Barbara trip. This bustling restaurant seated us immediately. Server Alma is perky and cheerful, very efficient and never missed a beat. I had a decaf and it was filled as often as I desired. The shrimp and andouille grits were made to order and I was able to request no pork sausage. Hooray! It was still a zippy tasty dish with nice rich cheddar grits. Son had the Andouille Breakfast, a nice fat spicy sausage cut the long way and griddled till brown. His scrambled eggs were perfect, a big portion and the home fried potatoes were happily devoured. Husband ordered a pancake breakfast and struggled to finish it all. Three large pancakes, two sausage links and two eggs sunny side up. All exactly as ordered. This place is everything you could want in a diner without diner food! Highly recommend! read more

I can't believe all of the Cajun locations keep the food so authentic and consistent! The service is always stellar, especially sitting at the bar! I love their chilaquiles and their yogurt parfait whenever I need a quick pick me up! They also have fresh squeezed orange juice which helps soothe myself into a nice morning. Overall, fantastic experiences and I hope to come back even more super soon! read more

Great food! Definitely recommend! Food: 10/10. Service was great. Sweet waitresses and waiters. Service: 10/10. Very nice, homey-like diner. Will be back when I'm in town. read more

First time here and came during a family trip. Grateful we were able to be seated right away for a party of 7. I got the shrimp and grits. The flavor was great, especially the sausage. Our group got the corn bread and biscuit to try. The corn bread was probably my favorite part of the meal. My toddler ate most of her meal, mainly the ham and fruit. If we're in the area again and craving cajun food, I'd loke to come back for their lunch entrees. read more

We were in Santa Barbara and came here because of the great reviews, but it was a major disappointment. The service wasn't bad, but the food was very unseasoned--which is strange considering the word 'Cajun' is in their name. There's no way these are actual Cajun recipes; everything lacked salt and flavor. Just because a restaurant has Tony Chachere's seasoning on the tables doesn't give it credibility. Even the hash browns were bad and tasted like they didn't use fresh oil. If you're expecting Louisiana flavor and have actually experienced Cajun food, this is not the place. I had the crab Benedict and was underwhelmed; my husband had the fried chicken Benedict and felt the same. It's not even good enough for us to want to come back for eggs. I'm convinced it's just a local favorite people like to come to, lol read more

Service was fantastic, really quality staff members but overall the food was overall disappointing. Ambiance is classic American diner. I love beignets and immediately ordered them to start. Instead of getting the type beignets I was expecting (light crust, airy center) these were more like donut holes. Thick and doughy. They tasted fine, but wasn't a classic beignet. I also ordered a bowl of gumbo and it was sort of flavorless and the meat instead wasn't very appealing. Also the rice added seemed old and was clumping together in the bowl. The other person in my party ordered the Chilaquiles which had nice spicy sausage and avocado slices which were very tasty. The prices were also on the higher end for diner cuisine, $18 per main dish so expected better quality overall read more

Back in the day Cajun Kitchen was the place to go for breakfast. Went there yesterday for the first time in several years. My wife's omelet had processed cheese slice, what the? You can't afford granted real cheese? Hueavos Rancheros, had tostada rounds? The menu said tortillas? The coffee was so bad, I can't even keep going, its a crying shame, the staff was as warm as going to a funeral. The biggest disappointment of all, the omelet was $18 and my H. R. was another $17 with coffee $50 total. Nope never, ever again. Save time and money go to a gas station, you'll be happier. read more

Drove into Santa Barbara early and was looking for a place to eat breakfast. Found this place walking around. It was very nice and popular diner atmosphere. Place is crowded but service is fast so we got seat right away for a party of 2. The menu is extensive and includes traditional breakfast too. I ordered the fried chicken benedict with the gravy on the side and the bf ordered the shrimp po boy. Everything came out quick and the food was hot. The egg wasn't over cooked and the fried chicken was crispy. The chicken was breaded heavily, but still tasty. The biscuit was thick but not dry. The shrimp po by was stacked! Their aioli added so much flavor. Definitely worth a try. It got busy by the time we left with people waiting outside around 11-1130am. They have a small parking lot in the back, otherwise street parking should be easy to find. read more

Here visiting beautiful Santa Barbara for the New Year's weekend and this is our final stop. We love New Orleans and we happen to find this place on Yelp. There was a huge parking lot but it was full. The restaurant itself is very loud and lively. I love the atmosphere and vibe. Perfect for families and people of all ages. It was also packed but no wait. It has an open kitchen and is a Cajun restaurant . To my surprise I was able to spot Tony Chachere seasoning in the kitchen. But of course it is a Cajun kitchen restaurant, lol. When I looked at my table I also saw that they had some on the table. I ordered the special with the beginets and the mimosa for $27.99. I also ordered the seafood gumbo and it was a big bowl. My husband ordered the eggs benedict. Sugey and Harry took great care of us. Thank you and see you soon. read more

This place has huge portion sizes. I was told that my plate was on the smaller side, and I still thought it was massive lol. We also saw some guys ordering the biscuits, and it genuinely looked like they were bringing out to individual birthday cakes for each of them. The gumbo and jambalaya were awesome. Loved the amount of protein that they included in each of the dishes, and the cornbread went very well with them. I would definitely go back here if I lived closer. 10/10 read more

I really like it was fast and the food was great my family said they enjoy it the wait was worth it

So me and my family were seated at an appropriate time at first it seemed great. So we ordered orange juice right it didn't come till the end of the meal. Which is fine but our food was not; it came cold and the chicken looked and tasted like it was fried in old grease. The only thing that did come cold was my husband's food, the jambalaya and eggs, and the beignets, while my kids and I waffles were cold. Honestly I've been here before and it was pretty good but this time was not. I was really excited to bring my kids here, since my husband and I enjoyed the food the last time we visited. read more

Cajun is one of the best local spots for breakfast. We came in with a big appetite and immediately ordered. It was a cloudy day so...of course we had to get some hot chocolates. Our server was quick to refill coffee, bring out our entrees, and even replace a runaway sausage when it fell off the plate. The French toast combo is usually my go to meal because it's so filling. The combo comes with 1 egg and either 2 pieces of bacon or sausage. If you're looking for a yummy dish that isn't basic, try the chilaquiles, it comes with eggs, avocado and Italian sausage. They have their own parking lot in the back, and if it's full there is street parking- be aware of street sweeping days! read more

Soooooo I finally tried Cajun Kitchen Cafe.. And this is my thoughts The cafe was busy.. Noise level was low And overall the vibe was relaxed and kicked back The waitress was awesome Extremely attentive This place customer service was amongst the top in SB We got visits from the waitress numerous times The food: I ordered the Cajun scramble And I got exactly what I paid for Food was well seasoned Potatoes had a good texture I got a blueberry muffin (I really enjoyed the lite, clean taste) It wasn't like typical muffin while chewing The berry flavor sort of shined on my mood and thoughts The sausage was spicy as indicated And everything was good A nice spot to have one on one time with someone Or To take a group and enjoy either outdoors seating Maybe indoor booths? Plenty of parking around the area And for visitors you can go shopping conveniently On state street, two blocks away I hope you all enjoy as much as I did Have a lovely day read more

Great breakfast spot in the area with some really tasty food & friendly service. I didn't realize we came right before they were closing but the staff was very friendly and got our food out quickly. I ordered the fried chicken benedict with hash browns which was an insane amount of food. The fried chicken was a huge piece, and the gravy on it brought it all together. It came with bacon and biscuit underneath. We tried the onion rings as well as the beignets, both were super tasty. We also got the chilaquiles with green sauce- the sausage was really good, super flavorful and just the right amount of spice. read more

Cajun Kitchen used to be on of my favorite breakfast and lunch restaurants, no longer. The ambiance never was very good, the place is noisy at the best of times and ear splitting at it's worst. The food used to be consistently good, but now is hit or miss. With some BIG misses. Service was always just OK before, but now is trending to barely adequate. Too Bad !! But the WORST is the the cost. The price has gone sky high. So, with the Food, Service and Ambiance all going down why dine there !! read more

2 eggs, 4 pieces of bacon, hashbrown is $18. I wanted to add 2 eggs and the charge for that would've been an additional $7. That's $7 for 2 eggs when a carton of 18 is $2-3. Absolute scam. I do not like supporting places like this read more

Water cup was dirty with floating debris. Ice makes the soda terrible tasting (or maybe the fountain needs to be cleaned?). Crawfish étouffée looked like/was closer to shredded chicken with a load of salt. Wait staff was polite and and didn't charge me for the one bite I had before bailing on it. Hence the added star.
