We love Third Window and have been going for several years now! The food and service is always amazing! My only problem is the kid situation there. Staff need to kindly ask parents to keep an eye on their kids. You can find children running around the courtyard area, running into people with food/glass drinks, I've seen adults almost trip and fall with the kids just running around without adult supervision. Third Window has really blown up since our first visit in 2017. It's become a full-fledged brewery and restaurant with a giant patio where there used to be a parking lot. We went with friends and our assorted children during a weekend getaway to Santa Barbara, thinking it'd be an easy, family-friendly place for dinner. We were about half right. The menu and set-up were ideal for a casual Saturday outing with kids. Unfortunately, the place was packed when we arrived at 5:45. We were lucky to find seats, and the line to order was like half an hour long. I took one for the team and waited peacefully, doing crosswords while my husband and friends wrangled the six kids in our party. Service was efficient and friendly when I got to the front of the line, though I was worried when the cashier said the pizzas would take over half an hour. This wasn't true, as it turned out, and we were relieved when the pizzas arrived with the rest of our food in the next fifteen minutes. I was also able to put in an additional order without waiting in line (I'd forgotten the pretzels my three-year-old requested). Once we were all seated with food and beers in hand, the meal was quite pleasant and relaxing. I only had one beer, a tall, cool glass of The Next Hazy IPA. I remember liking Third Window's beers, and this one was genuinely delicious. The food was great, too, with lots of options for both adults and children. The homemade sourdough pretzel was fantastic, served warm with beer mustard and aged cheddar and Gruyere cheese sauce. I had the avocado jalapeño smashed cheeseburger for my dinner, and it was satisfying and flavorful, with two wagyu beef patties, avocado, house-made pickled jalapeños, chipotle aioli, hot sauce, and a side of house-made pickles. The Belgian-style fries were thin, crispy, and addictive. We got them with ketchup and BBQ sauce. I tried a bite of my kids' cheese pizza, and even that was good. We'll definitely come back to Third Window, even if we have to brave a crowd. There's a reason the place is popular, and I'm happy to have it in our rotation. read more

I've been wanting to try the Santa Barbara location for Third Window since I've been to the Carpinteria location a few times. The SB location is much larger with a lot more food options. They had a weekend bbq menu with pulled pork, ribs, etc. There were more burger options to choose from too. After 4pm on certain days, like the weekends, they make sourdough pizza. We were there for lunch so we didn't get chance to try the pizza, but I'd like to another time. There is a lot of outdoor seating available. You order at the front then find a table. Parking is street parking. I ordered the original smashed cheeseburger. Soft bun, flavorful meat, and some sauces to add flavor. You can't go wrong with ordering a burger here. They are delicious! The fries are also amazing. The large size is splittable between two people. I'm a huge fan of Third Window Brewing. Their food is amazing. I asked for mine without the onions smashed in, which was a great option. It gets very crowded and is food hall style, meaning you order at a window to receive a number and search for a seat yourself. Most of the seats are large picnic tables, so it can take some time to find seating if you have a larger party. To be honest, I don't go for the beer, I go for their juicy delicious burgers. The original smashed cheeseburger is the best! The fries come out nice and crispy, and I would recommend pairing it with the chipotle aioli. You order at the counter then bring the number to your table. Food comes out very quickly. The brewery shares a courtyard with Potek Winery, so I always get a crisp glass of wine to enjoy with the smashburger. The ambiance is amazing in the courtyard, especially at night when the heaters and string lights are on. I come back to this place on every SB trip and you should too! read more

It's $38 for half pound of protein(brisket, pulled pork, sausage), two sides(we got baked beans and coleslaw), plus house made pickles, pickled red onions, raw onions, jalapeños, and bread, and barbecue sauce and chutney. It felt like way more than half a pound of meat. Two of us shared this and did not finish everything. It's really, really good. Great flavors: the sausage was not greasy, the pork and brisket were tender and perfect. The baked beans were great. It's a lot of food. Be sure you have plenty of time to sit and savor every bite. PS-some places are charging $20 for a sandwich. At $38, for 2 people, this is good value and way more food than 2 sandwiches. read more

We got a couple flights of beer, and most of the beers were enjoyable. The beers are largely German style, and lean on the Malty/sweeter side. They have food, but we didn't eat there this time. The wait doesn't have to be as long as you think. 1. We came by for dinner and this place was popping. You get in line, order, and seat yourself - easy. We were told the food could take a bit of time, which set our expectations. 2. We ordered a pizza and a burger. The pizza came out quickly and was steaming hot. The crust had a nice chew and my preferred level of char. It was a pretty good pizza, and I was glad it came out as fast as it did. 3. The burger, on the other hand, took over an hour to come out. 4. Because we had been told food could take a bit, we expected a wait but not one this long. Over the course of an hour, we asked a few runners and a counter worker to check on our ticket, and they all said the food had a wait. The counter worker ultimately had to resend our ticket to the kitchen, meaning the original was likely thrown out when the pizza was done. 5. The burger was piping hot when it finally arrived. It was tasty, but the long wait really killed the enjoyment for me. 6. So if your wait feels longer than expected, ask and keep asking. read more

Second time coming here in the matter of a month, and we gladly will make the drive from Ventura just for this place. Our first visit was so enjoyable that we needed to come back on a Saturday to see what the BBQ was all about as Ventura County is a literal BBQ desert. First visit we had a pretzel, wings, fries, short rib pizza and pepperoni pizza as well as several festbiers. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Today's visit we loaded up on BBQ with the combo plate and added an extra 1/2 lb of brisket and 1/2 rack of spare ribs. Man, these guys know what they're doing. First, the prices are unbelievable considering what I've paid elsewhere for far less food. We got all that BBQ AND 2 beers and 2 mineral waters for just under $120. Every meat was cooked to perfection. I even appreciated the slice of sourdough bread instead of the typically slice of white bread that's usually given with BBQ. We continue to have positive experiences at Third Window, which frankly I find is sometimes hard to come by in today's food service environment. We will definitely see you again soon! read more
