(Drank/Dined 02/02/24 FR @ 6:00pm): You didn't need to con me into coming to this brewery! I looked for some salvation and solace in the beer suds of Rincon Brewery while I waited out the freeway traffic back to Los Angeles after a bad day. This brewery was on my list of several to try since I was scheduled to work the upcoming Santa Barbara International Film Festival. I loved beer and was always thrilled to visit a brewery new to me. Were their libations a brighter spot on what was a darker day!? PURCHASE Cetaceans Dry Hopped Marzen Lager Beer 5.2% ABV 16floz Draft ($7.75): Rich golden amber color, floral malty aroma, low body, light malty flavor, smooth finish, and light malty aftertaste. My favorite of the ones I tried. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=N2clMCdp3sxjEPMxkFIO1Q&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Caught Inside Imperial DIPA Beer 8.6% ABV 16floz Draft ($8.50): Rich hazy amber color, earthy hoppy aroma, low body, slight bitter hoppy flavor, drying finish, and light hoppy aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rXWQ8wG4UFIFDlZKwH087g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($8.00): A tower of seven plump La Reina (their own beer) lager-infused panko crusted rings all generally the same size, these were hot, lightly browned, crunchy, and had some tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact. These were really good, I wasn't a fan of the somewhat watery ranch dipping sauce, and the "mere" seven rings surprisingly filled you up. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=n3NQ7J8Q1Uw6j6G1t3CLGw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Bates Blonde Fish + Chips ($17.00 + $2.00): Bates (their own beer) blonde-battered cod with a choice of housemade potato chips or french fries (I opted for these), I was impressed by the three thick darker brown pieces of fish and a pile of golden crispy crunchy spud sticks. This was a hot plate, and early bites of everything released soft whispers of steam. The cod was meaty, moist, lightly seasoned, and honestly didn't require the provided tarter dipping sauce (I used it for the fries). My only issue was that the fries weren't included, so in actuality this was a "fish plus chips" meal. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=fpuwzGbFwXqCwOdssuTSbw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Coastal American Lager Beer 5.5% ABV 16floz Can 4pk ($11.99): Bright amber color, citrusy lime malty aroma, low body, citrusy lime malty salty flavor, crisp effervescent finish, and light citrusy lime aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=FCS5RuJzpdwz2VstJ8wlbA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw 9th Anniversary Fleurs De Mer Saison Farmhouse Ale Beer 6.1% ABV 16.9floz Bottle ($9.00): Dark amber color, fruity tart yeast aroma, low body, earthy fruity tart yeast flavor, crisp drying finish, and light earthy fruity aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=oUt_RJDUeFzIqfUlwzLMuQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Stickers (Varied; COMP this instance): I loved stickers and enjoyed placing them at other breweries to spread the love! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-E-QPl_6n-LQGn-Y3zrvoQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw SERVICE I was warmly greeted by a young man behind the bar where I sat. He gave me a quick rundown on their beers, and once I placed my order, the beer arrived immediately, while the food appeared within minutes. Everything was efficient and straightforward - thank you! PARKING (FREE) Street parking only, I found a spot along the main drag of Santa Barbara St. while there were plenty on other surrounding roads - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located in the "Funk Zone", the interior was an open spacious layout, a ton of places to sit, a multi-sided bar with barstools, and various surfboards hung on the walls. There was also a large exposed outdoor patio. Plenty of natural lighting came in through the large windows, obviously plenty outside, while various electric ceiling lights filled in the rest inside while decorative string lights outside. There were two TVs while Emo music (e.g. Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, Sum 41) played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=O-v3lFvwpLlljOvdH7CpVw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Rincon Brewery ended my day on a positive note, and I would love to return and try more of their beers. Their food was lovely and appreciated, they had a happy hour (MO-TH), it was a relaxing place, the service was very good, and the beer prices were comparable (beer flights also available). The food menu was varied and not just bar snacks. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $71.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

As much time as I spend in the Funk Zone Rincon Brewery is a spot I need to visit more often! I ordered the BBQ Smashburger, and it was Amazing! Along with a glass of wine . My Friend had the Cheese balls with dipping sauce, which was Amazing! Teran, our Bartender/ server, was friendly and helpful. The place had a nice feel comfortable and inviting. With an outdoor patio with plenty of room for groups. Plenty of chatter with Family and friends. Thanks, Rincon Brewery, for a great lunch experience! Ronnie S

Great brewery in the Funk Zone with a large outdoor patio, plenty of lawn games, an extensive beer menu, and a full kitchen menu. Small parking lot onsite or park on the street. Happy hour weekly from 2-5pm and not crowded. Fast casual then (order at the counter and be seated). Friendly bartender. Beers are 16oz or 20oz. Love the indoor outdoor seating. Food was tasty, we mainly just ordered appetizers on the happy menu. We will be back!

Great location in the funk zone. Chill vibe. Went here for a "pitch your single friend" event and it was a lot of fun. Good beer. Did not try the food- although I assume it's the same menu as the Ventura location- and I really like the food at the Ventura one so I bet it's just as good. There was over a hundred people there so a bit of a line to get beer but service was great once I got to the counter. Note- it is counter service here- unlike the Ventura location.

We were doing a walking brewery crawl up in Santa Barbara and came to this place when we were ravenous. It took a minute to be greeted, but when the bartender finally came over, she gave us a few splashes of three beers we had our eye on. They all tasted a bit similar to each other, so I got a half pint and we placed our food order. It was pretty quiet inside, and we opted to sit in the sun until the breeze became too much. We moved back in and played the ring toss connected to the wall while we waited for our food. About twenty minutes after ordering, the food was at our table. I got the barbecue chicken salad and my husband ordered the pesto chicken panini. My salad was fresh and crisp, with a VERY hefty half of an avocado, and lukewarm chicken studded throughout, with black beans, charred corn and tortilla strips. Definitely a generous serving size, especially for the price! The pesto panini was also extremely large, and overloaded with pesto. It was delicious, but took a good two hours before we had the intense flavor of pesto out of our mouths, even with the follow up wine tastings. I'd go back for the food, or to try some of their flatbreads, but the beer fell a little flat for me, and the service left me a little wanting. Still a beautiful location and nice large patio area to spend a sunny day!

Had a great experience at Rincon and really like the new expanded food menu! We ordered panko cauliflower with thai chile sauce, beer cheese dip with pretzels bites, and nachos with chicken. Great potions for sharing and we thought everything was delicious. The beer cheese dip really stood out as a must order! They have a order at the counter, seat yourself, and delivery to table system, so it's easy to split bills with a large group. Ping pong and jenga available on the patio.

This place does an amazing weekend breakfast. They open at 9:00 am on Saturday and Sunday. It is a great spot to get a good "food base" if you are wine and beer tasting in the area. The chicken and waffles are huge. The chicken is beer battered and delicious. The breakfast burrito has chicken and a green sauce inside, and is very tasty. The potatoes on the side are also very good The star of the show was the breakfast sandwich. Perfectly done The staff is friendly and the beers are very solid, from top to bottom This is our new "go-to" breakfast spot in Santa Barbara.

We stopped here for a quick dinner. The people here were nice. The outside patio is dog friendly, which was a plus for us cus we brought our dog. The food was great the atmosphere was too. There was a ping pong table so we played before we left.

We stopped in after a long,7 mile walk. No one was on patio. My husband got the BBQ flatbread and I got the Vegetable Delite panini. Mine was amazing, best sandwhich ever!Next time I will need to back on the Chipotle Alioli though,it was so delicious but just a tad too spicy for me lol. My husband thought his flatbread was alright, next time he wants to try the Thai flatbread. The beer was so awesome! I had an amber and it was insanely good! I would give this place 6 stars if I could

We randomly chose this spot in our way home from camping and scored parking in the lot! I chose to post 3 pictures of the same dang Brie garlic flatbread because the lighting was amazing and it was SO unique and savory and tasty! The roasted garlic is more like fried toasted garlic, I don't think I have ever had that on pizza, way better than what I was expecting. We ate it with and without the balsamic glaze and of course had some with the ranch side. I could have dipped that flatbread into so many different sauces or just had more on its own, it really was outstanding. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the BBQ chicken salad, the vegetable quality was on point. I took the photo after I mixed it, the initial presentation was beautiful. I got a sampler with the fruitier stuff, fruit beer, seltzer, kombucha, and a light beer and they were obviously the perfect light day drinks for our lunch stop with a side of a jumbo game of Connect Four. Staff was awesome I wish I could give a shout out to our girl who's name I unf forgot, you were awesome! Love me some breweries & this was great!!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire experience. We were looking for a laid-back and unique venue, and Brass Bear absolutely delivered. From start to finish, the team (especially Emily!) went above and beyond to make our day perfect. The space itself is welcoming and full of character, while also feeling elevated and thoughtfully designed. We actually saved a lot on decor because the venue was already so beautiful on its own. The top things that really set Brass Bear apart (aside from the space itself) were the staff and the food/drinks. The staff -- Every single person we worked with was kind, responsive, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure everything ran smoothly and that it was truly the party of our dreams. They were incredibly accommodating, handled logistics seamlessly, and anticipated needs before we even had to ask. It honestly felt like they cared about our wedding just as much as we did. Also throughout the evening, on their own, the amazing staff checked in on me and the groom, seeing if we wanted a drink refill or a cup of water. The food-- Hands down the best menu we sampled while choosing a reception venue. We wanted a place that would have a spread guests would talk about long after the event, and for months afterward our friends and family were still bringing up the tri-tip and how good everything tasted. Not only was the main food insanely delicious, the welcome charcuterie table was put together beautifully with so many options. The drinks -- The open bar was fantastic! Brass Bear offered a great variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks as part of their open bar, the flow of guests being served at multiple bar stations stayed steady all evening with no bottlenecks, and they even helped me create a custom cocktail to match my purple hair. I also probably emailed (literally) a thousand questions throughout the planning process, and every single one was met with a kind, thoroughly explained answer, or a "let's see if we can make that work!" response, which made the planning feel like a breeze and really fun. If you're considering Brass Bear Brewery for a wedding, celebration, or any special event, do not hesitate. They helped create memories we'll treasure forever, and we are SO grateful we chose them. Highly, highly, highly recommend.
