There are plenty of indoor and outdoor causal seats to relax. I just popped in for a drink at the Third Window Brewery. This is Third Window Brewery second location, the first one is in SB. I was pleased to find that they offer two options for cider drinkers-- and one of the two is not too sweet. The cider was a little over 9 dollars. Beyond cider they offer a significant number of choices for beer. For beer drinkers they have Belgian and IPA options. The place seems to be very popular on the weekend around lunch time. Of course, it was Mother's Day too, but I am sure this place on the weekends, especially summer pulls a great deal of people in. The service at the bar was ok. Came here to compare it to the Santa Barbara location. Third window is known for their delicious smash burgers so I ordered the jalapeño/avocado smashed cheeseburger with an extra patty, the original smashed cheeseburger with an additional patty and ranch oak smoked chicken wings. First thing I noticed was that they put a lot of avocado, but the onions looked a little burnt. The food here is comparably to their Santa Barbara location but i felt like the wings and burgers were saltier. The decor and tables/chairs seem like a casual friendly upscale bar . I like how the place is Totally dog friendly too. The food menu and prices are competitive and nicely priced. A fun place to have an afternoon/evening cold beer. The beer list is quite impressive (revolving) and offers a wide variety of different craft beers. The bartender said that their best ones are their Belgium styles, but I thought the IPA west coast was magnificent. Amazing.. so looking forward to trying out their different beers down the road. We came here to compare it to the SB location.... I had the jalapeno/avocado smashed, smoked chicken wings and strawberry shake. The jalapeno avocado smashed burger had a generous amount of avocado (carp is the home of the avocado festival!), but I wish there were more jalapenos. The smoke wings were small, but you can definitely taste the smoke! The strawberry shake tasted like a regular shake but they need a better straw. The small straw made it hard to drink the shake. Hands down the best BBQ I've ever had! The vibes here are amazing -- an open area with tons of food options, each doing what they do exceptionally well. My friend was raving about the smash burgers, but the pizza looked incredible too, and the Mexican food was tempting. We ended up at the newly opened BBQ spot tucked at the end of the street and got the combo: 1/2 lb each of sausage, pulled pork, brisket, plus two sides. The sausage stole the show for me! Third Window is my favorite place when it comes to a legit smash burger. I usually go to the one in Santa Barbara, but this location didn't do it justice. My burger was cold and didn't taste as fresh and melt in your mouth delicious like I'm used to. It looked overcooked. The pickles seemed stale too. The fries were semi-cold , but at least my friend enjoyed them. They were ok, just not as fresh and hot. It's almost as if they had just been sitting around for awhile. My cider was good though! Cold, crisp and dry. Customer service here seems fast and friendly. I love the open airy atmosphere here and there's plenty of communal tables and single tables to sit at inside and out. Despite the underwhelming burger and fries; I would still give it another go at this location. I recommend asking for sauce on the side for the burger. I was told by a friend that Third Window Brewing has one of the best smash burgers so I had to check out this new location on Linden. The newly renovated Linden Square is very modern and a cool spot. There are multiple food places to order from and open seating. There's indoor and outdoor seating with tables or couches. There are a lot of shaded options. At Third Window, you order at the counter then wait for your buzzer to buzz and grab the food from their food window. We were there in a very busy Saturday afternoon at lunch time. The line moved fast for ordering food. We were able to grab some chairs in the shade outside while we waited for our food to be ready. We tried the original smash burger, fries, the kid's grilled cheese, and a chocolate milkshake. The smash burger was as great as I expected. The meat was juicy and the bun was soft. The overall flavor was 10/10. The fries were also excellent. They are crispy without being overcooked. The kid's grilled cheese came on a hamburger bun with melted cheese. It was $3.95 which I appreciate because it was the perfect price and size for a kid's meal. The chocolate shake is made with one of our local favorite ice cream places, McConnell's. It was chocolately, thick, and creamy topped with whipped cream. Third Window knocked it out of the park for me. The prices of their food are very reasonable considering how amazing it is. I was boycotting because I hate the fact that Carpinteria is building so much stuff I had a feeling that the food wouldn't be very good, but I was really hungry turned out I was guilty of contempt before investigation The food was super good and the waiters and waitresses or whatever you call them. I fully understand the hype for the smash burger! Honestly, one of the best I've ever had. It's simple, juicy and delicious. I've had it twice in the last week; that's how good it is! The tallow fries are so good that I was happy to have my son have them as his first French fry ever. Saying he loved them is an understatement! Great beer selections. My husband had the FE and paired really well with his smash & fries. Do me a favor and grab a Rice Krispie treat. My all time favorite! Came by for lunch on a recent Sunday and was blown away by how good the food and beer here was. Short line to order and you get a buzzer that vibrates when your food is ready. In the meantime, grab a table inside or outside on their shared patio with a few other restaurants at the very popular Linden Square food court. As for the food, their smoked chicken wings were amazing -- nice and crispy too. Plenty of dipping sauces to choose from too. Smashburger was perfect -- double meat for less than 10 bucks! (Wanted to try their smoked one -- but they ran out so get there early if you want it). B eef tallow fries also on point and a small was big enough for 2 to share. We'd heard about this restaurant in SB for awhile now, so we decided to finally go to try the burgers! When I put it in the GPS, to our pleasant surprise there was an even closer location, so we went to the Carpenteria location. We were fortunate and found street parking right when we pulled up. The place looked really busy from afar. I don't honestly know how long it's been open, but looked like the place to be. Finding the entrance was a little confusing and then when we entered it seemed like it was to the Mexican restaurant next door, but then I realized all the seating is together. There's also a pizza place inside. Having all the different food options in one location was nice if you take a family or larger group and everyone can get what they like. We stuck with the burgers. It wasn't clear at first that seating is just first come first serve. There wasn't a hostess and it was also a little confusing as to where to order food. There wasn't a line at the bar and I had to ask if it was for food or just the drinks. It was indeed for everything, but again it was confusing for someone who had never been there before. Upon ordering the gal said the food wait time would be about 30min. Unfortunately the wait was closer to 45 min and by that time my husband and I were starving. When we got our food, at least the order was correct, no issues there. We felt the burgers were on the smaller side. The fries were good and I really enjoyed the Alabama White Sauce as a dip for my fries and burger. The pickles were homemade, but seemed a little vinegary, not the best flavor. Overall we're glad we made the trek to try it. If we're in the area we would probably go back, but there are other spots close by with great smash burgers. We're not beer drinkers, so that was not a factor for us. It was a very family friendly place. read more

Went on a Thursday. Ambiance was nice. The service was meh. The food.... What you get for the price isn't good. Yeah it was a high quality A5 wagu beef, but that is where it ends. For the $15 price point you'd think you would get fries but no. You would think it's like two maybe three bucks extra for fries, but no. The sauce on the burger is really salty and vinegary pretty much ruined the very small portion that you get. I went with the potato salad and that was really vinegary as well. The light beer had zero taste. If I wanted that, I would've gotten a PBR or something and not pay $9 for the large. I won't be back. If you want a good smash burger WITH fries go up the street to dang burger. Very nice place with way better burgers. read more

Everything here is pretty much self service. They don't have anyone at the entrance so we had to figure things out. Just have to get in line, food and drink menus are there. My mom, husband, and 4 year old stopped here for an early dinner on New Year's Day driving home to LA county from the central coast. Parking was a little tricky but no worse than any other beach towns. We walked into the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the inviting space. We found a table for 4 and set up shop. We reviewed the menu and went to the bar to place our order. We had never tried any Third Window beers before so I asked if they sold flights or small pours to try a variety of beers. They do not. No biggie, but this would've been a nice option. I settled on a Black Ale and my husband settled for the Brown Ale. We were both very happy with our beers. My kid wanted a "cheeseburger without the meat" and they kindly asked if he would like a grilled cheese. This was a nice touch! My 4 year old proceeded to color at the table (with activities we brought, I didn't see any kid-specific crayons/activities provided) and admired all the dogs while we waited for our food, which took about 20 minutes. The adults got the classic smash burger, the tot got the grilled cheese, and we shared a large order of fries. The food was so good! I could've easily eaten more fries, but I'm rather glad they were all gone after all the holiday feasting.
