Best breakfast place in town but the new location might have management issues. This is the first CKC I've been to where I'm treated like a hassle for walking through the door. Like others, I experienced a failure to acknowledge or attend to a customer and that's the worse i feeling to experience at a new location. The employees should be ecstatic instead they appear to be overworked. Hire some more servers or figure out what's necessary to keep your employees happy. Food is decent. Parking is horrendous and should have had a closer look by City Council. Update: The new location seems to have the bugs worked out. Staff is more attentive and overall a seemingly happier place. Parking is stilla bit frustrating but I wouldn't let that stop me from grabbing a plate. read more

Bottom line: food is really good but waaay overpriced. I feel like you can get away with that in downtown Santa Barbara, but out in Goleta it seems ridiculous. Why does it cost so much for eggs and toast? I never understood that. Customer service at this location not as good as the downtown locations or even the one in the Kmart shopping center. It just opened, so that will probably improve in time. The other locations are known for filling your coffee/iced tea before you even have a chance to ask. This one not so much. Been twice. This place was such a surprise. You read the menu and it sounds like a lot of heavy food with some light options, but my husband ordered the fried chicken Benedict and it was so light tasting! Nothing about it felt heavy, it wasn't greasy but tender chicken with great crunch and they didn't smother it with sauce. It was amazing! I also ordered cornbread and it was some of the best cornbread I have had. We sat at the bar and every time an employee passed y, they looked to see if we needed anything. We probably asked for something from 3 or four different people and they were consistent and no mix-ups in the order. Cajun Kitchen offers literally every breakfast food (omelets, meats and eggs, pancakes, breakfast burritos, scrambles) for a reasonable price. 5 star service, really friendly and accommodating! I would recommend the breakfast burritos and pancakes. Breakfast potatoes are spiced with yummy Cajun seasoning. Wait times get long but well worth it! read more

Cute enough on the inside....We were greeted quickly and by friendly staff, but there aren't enough inside tables or booths and parking is nil. Menu selection appeared good and we ordered the "BLAT" with spicy aioli and a Cajun po boy. The help didn't really come to check on us much and when our food arrived neither sandwich had much if any sauce, my bacon was almost non-existent and my boyfriend's po had battered shrimp that were uncooked on the inside. Disappointed because we were hoping for a great experience since we had been awaiting the opening of this Retaurant in our local area for quite sometime. Also....on a general note....why don't they keep the Restaurant open for dinner? Seems like none of the Cajun kitchen locations do, and I think that would be such a great availability. read more

The service was amazing, the staff were very kind and always checked on me. And if you want the freshest, sweetest, orange juice that has no sugar added... this is the place to go. Man do I love this place. Seriously. I've been to almost all the locations and I love it. Where to start ? Cajun Kitchen has always been around here for quite sometime and I feel like they're almost a building block for the town, real talk. Especially to have several locations spread around town you know it's gotta be worth all the talk. So to start this off, the Fairview location is nice. I really like that they took advantage of that location because it's a prime spot in town. The parking is cool, just be careful on the weekends because like I said this place sure is popular. The inside scenery is nice. Has that real classic breakfast cafe feeling I really like. The servers are all kind and generous and I can tell they really take pride in their job and to be quite frank I've never been let down by this place. I love the menu!!! Literally a variety of things you can enjoy. I personally love the eggs Benedict and also the chile verde. But anything you order off this menu I guarantee will be delicious. They have a variety of drinks and to top it off there pancakes are amazing !!!! So fluffy !!!! And to top that off, as if there was nothing else better than a fluffy pancake ??? Is that they have THICK cuts of bacon. YESS I SAID THICK. Not those weak small thin strips you be getting at IHOP lol. Overall. The host just handed me a menu and said "oh don't worry about it" and that I could sit wherever, but everything was full so I was awkwardly waiting and looking around for a spot to open up and when it didn't the guy still didn't seat me and just walked away to do something else. I dream about those biscuits and gravy sometimes, and I crave them the most when they're closed. First time at this location. Thought we'd try a different spot, we usually eat at the Kmart shopping center location. Anyway we were seated right away, place was about half full. And then the waiting began.......and continued...and continued...until finally our waiter showed up. Order placed...and...we saw our waiter walking around talking on his cell phone as he wandered around the restaurant....to the kitchen...to the back...re-appear later. Finally we flagged down hostess and our food was delivered by her....obviously it had been ready for some time. We ate...food ok, not spectacular, but ok. More coffee? We saw our waiter, still on his phone, loitering in kitchen. Went back to hostess...got coffee..waived at waiter as I walked back to table...watched in amusement as others tried to get served by him..still on phone. Must be the owner's son??? Anyway time for check....didn't bother to try to get waiter's attention..went straight to hostess. Me and my wife have been to all three locations of Cajun multiple times, on and off for almost 3 years. We tend to frequent the hollister location because of its proximity. This is the first Cajun that I have had a negative experience at. We were seated at the bar and everything went down hill from there. The creamer wasn't filled before we were seated so my wife asked for more after we ordered our drinks. I ordered an American lager and was brought a cider and a glass full of ice? I don't remember the last time I was served alcohol with a glass brim full of ice. I asked for my bottled beer that I had actually ordered which went through fine but when I asked for a chilled glass I was met with confusion. Maybe it was my mistake for thinking they had chilled glasses but apparently ciders are served with brim full glasses of ice so I thought I'd ask. Then our cornbread was out before our food and tasted fine. BUT we waited so long for our food (we never think to look at the time because the food is always prompt at Cajun Kitchen) that the woman at the register handed us our check as if we had finished eating and were ready to pay. After we told her that we had never received our food due attention was paid and it was served to us about 7-8 minutes later. We asked for take out boxes as soon as we received our food as we had been inside the restaurant for 40+ minutes and had just received our food. We didn't believe it would be an environment conducive to eating (which it should be as a restaurant). We are now enjoying the food at home and it's delicious! Really sorry that the service here isn't just bad but pretty much missing in some places. I understand it's a new location but a lot of work goes into new locations working from day one. I hope the proper corrections are made but for now we'll stick to good ol' Hollister. read more

This has got to be one of the top ten worst meals I have ever eaten. The service is horrible. I got a patty melt with onion rings. How you can make an onion ring taste as bad as it did is unbelievable. The meat on the patty melt was crazy weird, it had the texture of a veggie burger patty, and it definitely wasn't pure beef.... scary to think what it could be. It was the worst patty melt I've ever eaten, and I would say I'm not a real picky, finicky eater. Filthy surroundings as well. Totally weird vibe when you walk thru the doors. I came here for brunch this weekend and it was delightful. We had a large group of 6 people, so we were expecting a long wait, but we were seated within about 20 minutes. The food was excellent - I had the chilequiles, and other people in my family had the shrimp and grits, the French toast, the breakfast burrito - everything was amazing. Our server, Shawna, was the best! So friendly, quick to answer our questions, let us keep our menus so we could play a word-finder game on them. Thanks Cajun Kitchen, thanks Shawna! read more

Ordered chocolate chip pancakes. Were literally regular pancakes with 5 chocolate chip on top layer and second layer and none on first. 10 chocolate chips does not make it CC pancakes. Also were sweet milk chocolate, so tasted like I put a piece of a Hershey's bar on it. Pancakes too thick and chewy. Should have gone to IHOP, better and cheaper! Very disappointed. read more

Hello i went here today with my mother and the exsperiance was awfull, the lil girl sever behind the counter was yelling at customers and the cooks like it was a party and all the customers were just looking in aw, and just after we sat down a elderly man and his helper sat across from us and did not recieve any sevice for at least 10 minutes and when i saw a bus boy look towards them he went and hid and did not call a waitress to come over? Other then that the food was good and our service was fast and at a resonable price, will i recommend other people to come here , i dont know? read more

3 times here and not good. I love the restaurant, but won't go to this location again. 1st time, brought out the meal with wrong order for me, waitress said she didn't have to write it down and then didn't order the right thing. 2nd time time, lipstick on the glass, fork was dirty and then our waitress went on break after we had eaten. Finally got someone else and still we had to wait. Turned on a stopwatch to wait and see. Took an additional 16 minutes to get the bill. Last time, went early to get the corner outside table. My wife was riding her bike and then meeting me. I wanted to find a spot for her to park her bike. The tables started filling up. The waiter finally got to me after serving every other table after me and going inside twice. After getting my coffee a foursome sat down at a table next to me. The manager then came out and told me I had to move as that table was now 6 people. I was shocked. I asked if they had a reservation. They said no, but they needed my table. I walked out... never going there again... just truly crappy service... read more
