If you're coming here to get any work or studying done, or even having a conversation, don't even bother. They were blasting r&b music, and as usual with every coffee shop, it's an echo chamber filled with coffee machine sounds that don't stop. Some sound dampening panels on the walls would do wonders in here. I don't care if it's r&b or the usual indie trash that coffee shops are known for, I COULD DO WITHOUT THE MUSIC. I have noise cancelling headphones that weren't a match for this place. I go to a coffee shop to get work done, not feel like I'm at a Hollister. Also the internet is slow as hell and there was nobody else using a laptop. Between the noise, music and shitty internet, there is basically no reason for this coffee shop to exist. read more

Really nice modern looking with a cozy feel, this place is also huge!!! Only issue is the lack of food options. I asked if they had any sandwiches they said they only had bagels in the back, they did have a few items on the counter such as muffins and quiche. My friend and I were looking for a cafe in Metutchen and stumbled into Cai's. It was just what we were looking for! It was spacious with plenty of seating, but also super cozy with couches and a fireplace. We both got a chai latte and sat by the window. We stayed for an hour and a half to drink our lattes and work on our laptops. It was a great place to get work done- free WiFi and not too loud. I definitely recommend Cai's if you're in the area! read more

This place is an "okay" coffee shop. The prices on the board never match the price they actually charge, so be aware. I haven't tried food here yet, but I've had tea, coffee, and a smoothie. The smoothie was average. I ordered Strawberry Banana. The person who made it blended the strawberry leaves in with it and it was unpleasant and bitter. The space of the place is nice, however music is too loud and it distracts if you're trying to read or talk to a friend. The chairs have no cushions, so it makes me not want to stay long. Nice little spot a block from the train station. Good coffee, muffins & brownies & such. I'm not much on fancy coffee, I drink it straight: hot, black and strong; but they do a good job with that so I'm happy. Just don't ask me if their frappa-whatever is good. I'll leave that for others to judge. They are expanding their offerings all the time with different food & drink offerings and have started to have wine. (Although I'm holding out for growlers of hopped malted brew) Entertainment wise they have open mic sessions, acoustic duo performances and a regular impromptu open jam session. A quaint little coffee shop on Main Street. Just opened a couple months ago. I went for the first time in January with 3 friends. Enough seating for groups, had a large television (playing Friends! Score!) Couch area and seating for 1 or two with accessible outlets. The coffee is perfect. The salted caramel coffee is delightful and there was a Jack Daniel coffee something. I used to really like coming here, but it seems like they've been going downhill lately. It used to be a solid, comfortable place with familiar faces, but now there seems to be a new, uninformed employee every time I come. At some point they started playing pop and rap music, which is kind of unusual for a cafe where people come in to chat, relax, and work. Although the tea is reasonably priced, the coffee seems a bit overpriced for the quality. I'm not sure when or why they started serving everyone's tea and coffee in paper cups, even when they're sitting-in. This seems to lessen the experience. Additionally, the board games are starting to fall apart and miss pieces. I would hate to see this place go under. Hopefully, they can remember why people love local coffee shops in the first place, and move forward accordingly. read more

Garbage food. Avocado toast is more like "thin layer of guac paste on day old toad". Turkey club is literally one thin slice of turkey on white bread. Coffee is just barely ok. No unique roasts or anything and cold brew is mediocre. Straws are kept unwrapped in a mason jar for everyone to touch and it's unsanitary and leads me to question what else is unsanitary. A friend kept recommending I try this place and, I think they totally live up to the hype. They're like Starbucks but, more reasonably priced, way more friendly and personable and, the pastries and all aren't just cranked out of some freezer, they're homemade and, they'll heat them up for you if you ask. Plus, you get a much better deal based on the $ to ounces in your drink ratio. I tried a shaken Peach Green tea during my first visit and a London Fog and a chocolate lave cake on my second. Both times my drinks were delicious and I was greeted by super friendly and upbeat staff who are happy to answer any and all questions. The chocolate lava cake is decadent and is more than enough to put a smile on anyone's face. They also have nice pieces of art on the walls to look at while you're sitting inside enjoying your drinks and snacks. Plus, there is also outside seating which is absolutely lovely as well. Wish I could give Cai's 10 out of 10 stars! I'll be a return customer from now on. read more

I generally really like this cafe they have solid options when it comes to drip coffee to a wide tea and smoothie selection. There food it semi taste given that it's brownies and large cookies to choose from. This place it's a fantastic spot to bring a small group of friends with the fireplace and the chill atmosphere. My only issue is they never seem to get my coffee order right. I ordered a cappuccino and got drip coffee. I would have spoke to the barista but I was a to go order. I like drip coffee too so I was fine. I would just make sure that the coffees are what is ordered. I have came by for there tea I have enjoyed it iced and it was perfectly fine. I am keen on trying there wines. They recently have some wines on display. So I will be back I'll just make sure I have the right coffee lol. read more

Here is another excellent coffee shop that is close to my home! I will take this place over Starbucks any day! The coffee is fantastic and they also have lovely snacks to go with it. The atmosphere here is just lovely and very well kept. They have a lending library where you can read the books and donate some if you no longer wish to keep them at your house. The have a nice couch area where you can relax or sit at their regular seats. This place is very nice in size and they also sell bottled wine which I thought was super cool! Very pleased with the service and the staff here. Everyone is super friendly and fast! As the day goes on into the evening they also have bands come in and play! read more

Tried an iced coffee here and for the price it was a real let down. The place gives off an "artisans coffee" vibe but the roast was terrible. So I thought I'd try something else on the menu because the seating is nice and I really wanted to like the place. Second time I came in I ordered a croissant and a tea latte and asked for the croissant to be toasted. The latte tasted like watered down milk, no tea flavor at all, and the croissant was barely heated up and tasted stale to boot. They retoasted my croissant but it still tasted like crap so I just left. I am not super picky and don't like to leave bad reviews unless it really left a bad impression. This place seems like it has the potential to be a good cafe but their food and drink quality is really below average for the prices they charge. I have seen similar reviews so I know I'm not the only one to have felt let down. read more

We went twice and both times were about the same in terms of quality of their drinks. The place is adorable and I really wanted to like it but I just can't give it more than two stars. On my first visit (a Sunday), I had an iced coffee and my husband had a hot coffee. Both were not good at all. We both threw ours away without finishing. I thought maybe it was just an off day. The second time I went, I went with friends. I ordered a peppermint tea. The tea, when it was finally brewed, had no flavor. The pastries we had were average. I should note that ordered my son a cinnamon bun. I took a quick bite and it's a good thing I did. It had nuts that were not obvious just by looking. I went up to tell the employee and she just responded with "ok". Then she let me buy another $3 pastry that wasn't even good. Later it occurred to me that she should have offered it for free, as their food isn't properly labeled as containing nuts. I spent $18 on two teas (both were awful), and three pastries that tasted like average, supermarket bought baked goods. Our friends were also unhappy with all of their drinks and food. My friend started with a Cafe Americano but it was so bad she ordered a cold drink to get taste out of her mouth. We decided we won't be going back. In theory, the place is adorable; however there's something lacking, in both food quality and atmosphere. read more
