She even made a special dip for the fries. My little one is tube fed, but sometimes eats, so we got fried okra for him. He immediately ate some. My teen got the bbq wings. My husband and I recently went to Cagney's for dinner which we have several times. This last time will be our last for a long time. I can't say the food was the best this time but I can say it has been better in the past. The huge problem was a girl that appeared to be the manager was screaming at the other employee's to where it was heard all over the resturant. She told one lady to get the F**K out of there and we found out that lady was not even an employee. There were children in there and everyone heard every word she was screaming. This was horrible for the employee's and our waitress told us it happens so many times but the employee's can't do anything about it. The labor board would love to hear this story so maybe some changes need to be made in the manager position in the evening, not sure if she works any other shifts. read more

I had chicken Parm and someone else in my party had fettuccine Alfredo. Neither were good at all. Marinara was overly sweet. The chicken tasted like it was premade, frozen, and thrown into a fryer. It was rubbery. Paid $14-$15 for that mess. They used egg noodles for the alfredo with a very watery Alfredo sauce that had no actual cheese taste but a weird aftertaste. Very cheap quality for $12! Can't speak to their other dishes, but based on these, I wouldn't go back. I want to begin by saying the waitresses provided exceptional service - they were attentive, kind, and went above and beyond. Unfortunately, my experience at the register with the manager completely ruined what should have been a pleasant visit. I had asked for senior and children's discounts for my parents and my son. Instead of handling the situation respectfully, the manager refused, told me it was my fault, and then - in front of me and other customers - told the waitress that if it happened again, it would come out of her pay. This was humiliating and completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, the manager was visibly shaking as if he was about to hit me. That kind of aggressive behavior is unacceptable in any business, let alone in a family restaurant where I brought my amputee father, my mother (who is disabled), and my son. I try to have a positive attitude towards any business because I know it's hard to stay financially a float. I have not ate here in several years but my mom said they have good fresh fried squash. I ordered the grilled buffalo chicken sandwich and fried squash. My husband had the grilled buffalo chicken wrap. My chicken looked good but when a took a bite it was undescribably mushy, it would disapaite in your mouth, the weirdest texture ever. My husband said his chicken was the same. I don't like to complain but I eventually told my waitress, she apologized over and over and asked if she could get me something else. I just couldn't, it was so terrible I couldn't imagine what else to get. The squash was okay, it could have been a little hotter and crispier but eatible. My husband and I eat out more than we should so I am very familiar with cost. When we first sat down and looked at the menu I was shocked at some of the prices around $14 or $15 for a normal meat and 2 vegetables. The waitress heard us talking about our love for the crackers and she surprised us by bringing us an extra handful of them. She was a great waitress. My dining companion ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs along with a side salad. She said her salad was very good and the Spaghetti and the Meatballs were some of the best that she's ever eaten. First time I've eaten breakfast there and was truly impressed. Had the farmers 3 egg omelette with chunky potatoes , thick rye toast and a side of livermush. Everything was cooked to perfection. My waitress was very attentive and personable. Water and coffee were always topped off. Third place I've had breakfast in Lexington (non-franchised) and by far the best. Well worth the extra 10 min drive. Will be a repeat customer. Only place I know of in Lexington that offers Livermush. read more

Three of us ordered soup and sandwich combo and the fourth only a sandwich. All four orders arrived and were not as ordered.Two BLTs, one ordered with soft bacon arrived with crisp bacon and very little mayo, the second ordered with no mayo had mayo. Both mine and grandson's grilled cheese arrived cold, unmelated cheese and missing the tomato ordered. The onion soup cheese was good but the soup itself looked like boiled onions in chicken broth. It bore little resemblance to real French Onion Soup. The Pineapple cake and coffee were good. Overall this lunch was very disappointing. Cagney's was an icon around Winston and growing up in Ardmore. We have eaten at the Lexington location a few times both carry out and dine in. Pros: large menu that can please everyone, online ordering, drive up window, fairly well priced, and super comforting food Cons: when ordering online the server stated they don't get those tips they go to the restaurant not the person at the window (that sucks) so I tipped twice which was more than I wanted. You also think that you can order 2 of an item but I only received one. I don't know for sure but I think I only got charged once My honey ordered an Italian sub and it didn't say it was hot so he didn't like his order. My son loved his hamburger steak and my Greek salad was good. I won't use the dressing again but it was good. Basically call in your order and you are able to ask questions and customize. read more
