After a looong week, what better way to celebrate than a date night at Caffe Vialetto! My boyfriend has been hyping up this restaurant for years, and, last night, we FINALLY got around to trying it. Needless to say -- 100% worth the wait! The ambiance was intimate and hip all in the same moment, with greenery and modern tones alongside a romantic glow and classic decor. We started out with the Creamy Polenta, a warm cornmeal blended with short rib, mozzarella, and truffle. Despite the intensity of the mixed flavors, it was easy to appreciate each element of the dish, combining textures and palettes perfectly. For our main course, we shared the Pear Raviolj & the Frutta di Mare Risotto 3 Ways with Squid Ink. I'm a sucker for the fruit/cheese combo of a pear ravioli, and Caffe Vialetto's did not disappoint. The superstar of this meal, though, was the Risotto. The dish's ominous appearance was misleading, as it instantaneously illuminated my taste buds and reignited my dwindling appetite. As someone who has never been the biggest fan of risotto, this dish absolutely blew mind my mind, and I would eat it a million times over again! I've dined at this restaurant twice. Once for a work function and recently went again for dinner with my family. Oddly enough, I ordered the same dish and it's as if I had ordered two completely different things. The dish in question is the Branzino with Risotto, which I found to be perfectly cooked and served over their signature champagne risotto the first time around. I absolutely loved it and made it a point to come back with the family, so it's unfortunate that the experience wasn't the same this last time around. We ordered the croquetas, salmon sashimi, gnocchi, pear ravioli, the Branzino, and their version of tiramisu for dessert. The food wasn't bad but nothing was wow either, and for $200 it's hard to give more than an average rating when I could've gotten a much better meal for that price. The croquetas are good, but I feel like they're missing ham. It's an interesting flavor but not something I'd go out of my way for. The sashimi appetizer isn't actually sashimi and is over sauced. It's also a tiny portion with about six slices of fish. The Branzino entree tasted fine, but was also drowned in sauce where the first time I had it there was barely any sauce and the fish had a nice crust. I was raving about it to the wife prior to going, so when they served it I was immediately embarrassed. lol. The pear ravioli had good flavor, but could benefit from some figs or a crunch component. It would also be nice to get more than 5 ravioli. As for the gnocchi, it was actually very well prepared but needed a salty contrast. The description read prosciutto in the end otherwise I would've vetoed my son since he had never tried gnocchi, but it was a tiny bit of powder and not pieces of it like I expected. $28 is grossly overpriced for potato balls in cheese. Lastly we had their house tiramisu which had blueberry sauce for some reason. That seems to be a theme from what I saw is they look to throw odd flavors together without thought as to how they pair. Guava is a common theme on many dishes and they have some random looking dishes like the sashimi and a chicken teriyaki over risotto... Honestly, it's a very solid 3 but not somewhere I'd return unless invited. The service was excellent though! No complaints there. Honestly I would've given more than the 18% automatically applied despite the grossly inflated prices so I'm not sure why it's included for a party of 3. read more

Over the years I've heard of Caffe Vialetto but until recently had not tried it and I can't believe it took me this long! The restaurant is a little hidden on the corner of Le Juene and Bird so it's easy to miss but for that reason it makes it feel a little more exclusive. Once we walked in we were greeted by the owner (always a good sign when the owners themselves are there) and seated right away. I do recommend making a reservation if you plan to come on the weekend as it was pretty packed when we got there. They give you complementary bread and bruschetta. The bread was really good, with a little bit of a sweet taste that went really nice with the tomatoes. Our server told us they make it fresh in house each day. For apps we decided to get a few things to try.... Shrimp Nuggets: these were amazing and came with a sweet Thai chili guava sauce. This was my personal favorite. Meatballs: these were actually made from Buffalo meat which I never tried before but it was super tasty. It also came with a dollop of ricotta. (I ended up soaking whatever bread was left in the sauce...soo good!) Salmon Sashimi: not what I was expecting to see on the menu but don't pass on it. The salmon was super fresh and the sauce paired perfectly. For my entree I got the pasta special of the day that was made with filet mignon tips and parpadelle. Omg this dish was to die for. The pasta (fresh pasta let me add) was cooked to the perfect al dente. The sauce was rich and decadent and had mushrooms and fresh mozzarella. If you're there and they have this get it! Others at the table got the short rib risotto and the short rib ravioli which all looked amazing. For dessert our server mentioned their most popular one is called the Funk. It's like a take on tiramisu but has blueberry sauce and crushed heath bar pieces and at first it sounded like a lot of different flavors but somehow they all go together! I loved how the hearth bar gave a little bit of crunch. I almost forget to mention the drinks! I'm a whiskey bourbon type of girl so I naturally got the old fashioned and it was hands down one of the best I've had. Risottos were excellent, salmon was good, tuna with guava sauce was unexpectedly delish. Let's talk RAVIOLI .... OMG the best hands down!!!!! White clothes tables and relaxing background music. Service- Everyone, starting from the hostess to the manager is beyond welcoming and attentive. He was also very courteous and had excellent dinner recommendations. Food- The restaurant provides complementary warm bread and tomatillo dip. I have to say that everything we ordered was season perfectly, cooked to perfection, and made with quality ingredients. For starter, we had the burrata that came paired with artichokes and drizzled with a sweet balsamic sauce. The burrata was definitely fresh and served at a good temperature. For dinner we had the fish special which was the hog fish topped with a mango sauce and paired with a cheesy ricotta risotto. To be honest, this dish was out of this world. Caffe Vialetto is a small whole in the wall restaurant that has stood its ground and can safely safe it has no reason to leave. They are known for their upscale and elegant ambiance while still giving a family restaurant feel. The owner is always here and takes his time to great all tables and guests whether it is when they are checking in, seated at their table or on their way out. All staff are friendly and provide excellent recommendations to satisfy all customers unique appetites. Cafe Vialetto is a staple in the Gables. The restaurant has been on the corner of Le Jeune and Bird Road for a long time. We like to go here for special occasions and it's always great. They have different daily specials and offer great meat and fish. I drove by this place 3 times looking for it but im glad I found it!! Great little Italian restaurant in the gables with plenty of options. Bread for the table to start (wasn't my favorite to be honest) but the ham croquettes were amazing! We also had the meatballs and tuna tostones, both were ok. Probably will stick to the croquetas. Way too much food for one person unless you're at nothing else lol. Place is small but quaint, no major entrance. It's basically a back door. Atmosphere is just right. Everyone is simply enjoying their meals and company with light music in the background. Reservations are recommended but there is a small bar you can sit at if you're lucky. And the service, excellent! Everyone was super friendly, knowledgeable about the cuisine and wine and so welcoming. Made it feel like we were at home. Honestly a great place! I only give it 4 stars because I'm huge on Italian and although they have some very tasty dishes, i can't say it became my favorite Italian spot, plus it was a bit over priced for 4 compared to other authentic spots (1 bottle of wine, 2 Miami spice delas that included an app, main course and dessert, 2 additional apps and main courses was a little over 400). When a friend of mine told me that there was this amazing Italian restaurant in Coral Gablea that was a must try, I have to say, I was doubtful. Fast-forward an incredible meal later, and I have to say it really was a must try. A group of us (obviously pre-pandemic) came at night and it feels like your walking into a club. And some of the flavors were to die for. The setting is beautiful. And it's very intimate (seats probably 40 max). But. I'm from NY. I'm spoiled with the best Italian food, IMO, in the US. So for me, it's not 5 stars. It's maybe 4, probably 3.5. So then why did I give it 2? We were served our water with a broken glass that could've cut a lip, there were flies all over the place, and the service was really poor. Especially for the price. I'm sure other people will go and love it, maybe even tell me I'm crazy. Is this authentic Italian food? No. Is it delicious? ABSOLUTELY! I really enjoyed my meal here and the service was amazing from the moment we walked in to the moment we left the staff were very hospitable and friendly. Our servers were there anytime we needed something and were always checking on us which I appreciated. The ambiance was perfect for a date night very calm and romantic and they even have a little selfie station when you walk in. The potato croquettes were not my fav I'll definitely pass on those next time but my short rib risotto was delicious I would definitely order it again. Caffe Vialetto is a Coral Gables staple and I recently returned for dinner with a group after a very long hiatus. I left impressed with the service but a little underwhelmed by a few of the entrees we ordered. To start, you're given complimentary bruschetta with warm bread which was one of the highlights for me! I probably could've brushed off the whole loaf to myself if left to my own devices. We also ordered burrata and calamari appetizers which were good. From there, we shared the linguini alla vongole, short rib risotto, and half lobster, half pear ravioli. My favorite out of the bunch was the lobster ravioli (the pear was good too, but I'm not a huge gorgonzola fan). I liked how you could get smaller orders to try both! Besides that, maybe it was the time that the dishes were prepared, but I wasn't in love with the other entrees. Some came cold and were just missing a punch of flavor. Now, dessert was pretty darn tasty. The offerings were an interesting blend of Cuban and Italian sweets, so we ended up trying the guava cheesecake and tiramisu. I'm a huge cheesecake fan and really enjoyed the guava. As mentioned, the service was great throughout and the reason this is a four and not three star review. Went out with my sister and her husband for New Years dinner last night. Truthfully, we were not planning on doing anything but she mentioned Cafe Vialetto earlier in the week and we all decided to go for it. We had been there in the past and always had a good time. Happy to report that we had a wonderful evening and dining experience. To kick things off we all started with some drinks so Lychee Martini's and Old Fashioned's were in order. Have to say that the drinks were great but we did have to ask them to make them a little stronger for us. Hey it's New Years right! . For appetizers we ordered the Meatball And Fried Calamari appetizers. Both were awesome! Calamari was crisp but not greasy at all. The veal meatballs had a phenomenal home made tomato based sauce and were very, very tender with some excellent Ricotta cheese as well that made the overall mix of flavors very interesting. For our main courses we all decide to opt for the "Frutti Di Mare" risotto, sampling both the Champagne and Lobster Bisque risotto options they have on the menu. Long story short both risotto options were awesome and delicious and from the looks on everyone else's faces, I am pretty sure all the other menu options were just as good. Also want to mention that the service was amazing starting with the valet personnel, the host and ending with our server. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming which is always appreciate. Cannot confirm but I believe the owner stopped by our table as well to make sure all was well and that we were enjoying our dining experience. I would give this -5 stars if I could... This has been the WORST dining experience I've had in a very long time. Reasons why: quality of food, portion size and price, poor service, and wait time. Let's start with the food. The food was horrible for everyone in my party and we got three different things. I'm not sure why this place has such a good rating. Olive Garden has better Italian food so that says a lot. The best dish at this place was the bread they give out (so we were hopeful for our long awaited meal). I received my $26 ravioli meal for it to come out with only 6 raviolis--the quantity is not mention on their menu. IF they were delicious, that price would've been fine but the food had hardly any flavor. I've been to nicer Italian restaurants with much better portions and quality food for the price. The portions, prices, and quality of food do NOT line up. The food served to the rest of my table had such little flavor, my friends added the tomatoes that came with the bread to it. TWO shrimps per pasta came with the shrimp Alfredo. Now about the service: horrible. The only nice person was the gentlemen serving bread and refilling water. Our waiter seemed pained to serve us. When I asked about the ravioli size after seeing the dish, he didn't seem concerned at all about my concern, rather bothered I had even ask. He was very stuck up and rude and didn't check in on our experience after we received our food. He didn't ask us if we liked our meal when we asked for the check so no opportunity to even mention how bad it all was unless we wanted to cause a scene and bring it up ourselves. I've worked in the service industry and that is NOT how you treat clients. The wait time was also abnormally long for how bad the food tasted! The restaurant wasn't extremely full either. Overall, the worse Italian restaurant I've been to in Miami. Don't waste your time or money. Go to Alaine's Osteria (a little further south), Cheesecake Factory or EVEN Olive Garden over this place. read more

Tony, Ugo and Ernie's daughter made sure we had all that we needed to have a wonderful experience. We will certainly be back to try the calamari and dessert. Dressed up with some marinara, it was a tasty lead in to my chicken parmesn (very tasty and rich). Unlike Italian chain restaurants, the sides were a creamy risotto and crisp veggies. A cool and fluffy nutella panna cotta closed out my eats and I was ready for a night out elsewhere. Though the facade is off Leajeune, the entrance has a nice speakeasyish vibe on the block behind (btw my bartender was nice enough to remind me to enter the back entrance as my address for UberLyft.) It is definitely not traditional, but if you're willing to try something new, this place is a must! From their champagne risotto to various stuffed pastas, I have yet to be dissatisfied in the 6 years I have been coming to Caffe Vialetto. My top recommendations: Pear Ravioli - this is a MUST, even if you just order by the piece to try it. This is on the sweeter side but by far my favorite thing on the menu. The Gnocchi is a close second, was my favorite for the longest time but to be honest the quality has lagged behind the Pear Ravioli recently. I know this place is a staple in the Coral Gables community but I was extremely disappointed in my last visit two Sundays ago. This place not only was not welcoming to people. But the food was unflavored and very expensive for what it is. I was very disappointed to find out that most of their pasta dishes were more than $25. Even the ravioli which I understand is an art form in the pasta community only serves six small pieces and a bucket of plain sauce. My friends and I were appalled by how little food we got for the amount that we're paying for. I've been to a ton of Italian restaurants all throughout the United States and I have not once paid $28for a dish when it ended up so unsatisfying and makes me want to warn people to never come here. Parking is just one block east and you have to pay to valet because there is a lot of construction going on and not a lot of parking available. You could park in Merrill Park and walk. I believe it was $6. They literally parking my car right in front of the valet stand. Once we entered we were greeted by the owner who sat us at the table. They have a good selection of wine and the bread and bruschetta that they bring out is made every morning. The bread was ok but the bruschetta was realllyy good. It filled me up quite a bit. I ordered the short rib risotto. With your entre you get your choice of a soup or Cesar salad. The soup that day was Malanga soup. It was pretty delicious. Once the risotto came out i asked for some more cheese on top. You can never have too much cheese. It was delicious. The portion is pretty large. I could only eat half of the plate. The service was a little more relaxed, so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are in a rush. We had no time for desert. Over all, the food was very good, the service wasn't bad, the only thing I wasn't a fan of is the extra charge for the valet parking. Due to the location of this restaurant it is hard to find parking. But to pay money to park it in a spot i could have parked it I didn't think is fair. Came here for date night with the hubby after his coworker recommended it and I'm so glad we did! Impeccable service. Amazing food. Meatball and croquettes are great. I'm not usually a fan of short rib, but the short rib risotto was phenomenal - legit BEST risotto I have ever had. Lychee martinis are dangerously delicious. The food is interesting, Italian takes on Latin flare. Very good. Nice size portions. Drinks are expensive with light pour. Service was great! Welcome on entry to restaurant was warm. Not a big place so it gets noisy. Limited dessert menu. Overall, a pleasant dinner experience. They do add tip on bill automatically. read more

Caffe Vialetto deserves 26 stars not 5. This place is a must when dining in Miami. The food and the service are spectacular. The owners Ernie and Marcelo will treat you like Family as soon as you walk in the door. Appetizer combo was amazing. It included Pear ravioli, shrimp nugget and Tuna Tostones. Then the main course I had the Linguni del Año. Amazing. A true gem in Coral Gables. read more
