Went here for a special occasion. Both entrees were uneatable. Mine was cold and tasted like it was made 3 days ago and reheated. The sauce tasted like Ragu. Took a couple bites and I was done. My partners was cold, bland, and just not appealing. I could see our entrees sitting under the food warmer for 15 minutes before they bothered to bring them to our table. The salad and the bread were decent. That was the highlight. Our server was pleasant, but I could see both the kitchen and pizza areas and it looked very chaotic for only having a handful of customers. I should have known when I pulled up during what should have been a busy time, and the parking lot was empty! read more

This is our third visit and first time for dinner. Lunch is a great deal with reduced menu. Dinner menu is robust offering one of my favorites, Veal Picatta. The veal piccata was a bit expensive at $31. But it was Generous meal with the veal very tender and the pasta just right. The wait staff is challenged but the food is excellent. While the atmosphere is pleasant I must say lunch was a bust. We went for lunch and my son and I ordered the Torino cheese burger with the truffle fries, I would have to say for the price it was a bad choice. I was aware that it comes on chibatta so it was not a surprise but I must say it just makes for a chewing festival I was not down for. Something was just off about all of it coupled with the truffle fries that had the firmness of linguine I am not a fan. I know among the geriatric crowd in Oro Valley this place has a following but for me I don't see the attraction. read more

Unfortunately I am unable to write a review for this restaurant as the occupancy at 1/3 capacity was not willing to seat a party of three that walked in without a reservation. Apparently they were expecting 50 people sometime in the future and the facility was at currently operating at their capability. I had only eaten there once before two years ago and it was okay, but not memorable. If you're interested in dining here I would recommend making reservations as this will be the only way to be seated. I'll consider option and update my post at that time. read more

Slow service, small portions, waitresses seem clueless, owner took up a large booth that was needed as she ate her lunch, out of ingredients so we couldn't have some dishes, pasta was COLD, portion of chicken was a joke, some dishes were obviously not fresh (old meatballs). We came during brunch time to get brunch. Told us no brunch menu so we were going to order pizza but no pizza until noon. We were the first ones here. Waitress was attentive and nice but we ordered bruschetta and pollo parm took 30 min! The bruschetta has no basil and tomatoes weren't very ripe. The amount of side pasta with the pollo parm was a very small portion, almost looked like a kids plate. The food was just okay and we really aren't that picky about food. Wouldn't come back. The food was a large serving and tasty. The wait staff was overwhelmed by the number of diners and took a long time to get the initial glasses of water. Then when we asked, three times for more oil/balsamic vinegar, well, it never came. I don't blame our waitress, I blame management for not having sufficient staff. read more

A surprisingly good little gem on the north side of town. I've been here both for brunch and dinner, although I can say that the dinner was the better of the two meals. I got the lamb dish for dinner and was in no way. disappointed. I practically licked the plate clean. Also, if we could have, we would have taken home every stitch of table bread in that place. I ordered the lamb chops which we're ok but the mushroom risotto was gummy and lacking any flavor. The spinach looked good but when I bit into it, it was so salty! My husband ordered the chicken parmesan and he didn't like it at all, the sauce was bland and like out of a jar. His side veggies we're overcooked and bland. I have been several times but I don't think I'll be back. I had a 7:00 pm reservation, waited 20 mins while walk-ins were seated right away. The service at the table was terrible. We walked in and stood in a busy restaurant a while until we were even acknowledged. We got a lovely table outside and it took over a half hour to have a waiter stop by to get a glass of wine. We ordered our food at the same time as our drink order. An hour and a half later with one quick stop by our server letting us know he would check on our order, we left. We tried Caffe Torino at River and Craycroft this evening because we heard there was live music playing. We made a reservation, and were shown to a booth inside. While we were escorted to our table the waiter told the hostess not to bring anyone else inside without a reservation. It was awkward. The menu was much smaller than the one on the website so our preparations were useless. And the hostess could only find one menu so we had to share. We were not asked if we wanted drinks until our salads had arrived. The service was SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. 45 minutes between salad and main dishes. And no one brought more water (remember no other drinks?) Bread, oil and balsamic arrived quickly and was delicious. Cesar salad was just not - no cheese, chopped romain, some capers, and next-to-no dressing. Dry salad, but it was chilled which was a saving grace. Main dishes were linguine and meatballs and Chicken Tarteglio where were both hot and delicious. They offered pepper and cheese, but never brought it. The pasta was mixed with a lovely light garlic oil - delicious on it's own. The chicken was heavenly - great flavor, texture and portion. The ambiance was not fine dining as advertised on their website - closer to Outback meets a sports bar. Nothing much. Service was pretty sad. The waiter was trying - he seemed to be the lone waiter. The bus staff and hostesses and many others wandered by a lot but never looked at us. We had to ask three people for the check to get out. But, the food was fabulous - less the salad. read more

I really do love this restaurant. Marley is by far THE BEST server I have ever had. Their brunch on weekends is amazing. They typically have an omelette special and only serve waffles on the weekend. I usually get a blueberry pancake with a side of turkey sausage and fruit. read more

We just ate here again this week and WOW we were not disappointed! The server, Ryan was super and one of the best servers we've had in a long time. He described the food perfectly and was on top of everything. He works Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday (we asked as we only want him to wait on us from now on) so ask to sit in his section! I had the tomato basil soup of the day and it was very tasty. My boyfriend had the appetizer of the day which was grilled shrimp with grilled romaine lettuce and this was so frickin good that we made it at home the next day! We both had the gnocchi and it is still the best gnocchi I've ever tasted. I also ordered the special of the day - red risotto as a side dish and it too was very good. I highly recommend you try this and I doubt anyone could ever be disappointed - it is just that good. read more

We've eaten here twice since we moved to Oro Valley and were disappointed both times. Our first experience, a month ago, was via Grubhub. We ordered the Eggplant Parm, a pizza and salad. The pizza and eggplant were so bland. No seasoning whatsoever! And the marinara tasted like it came from a can. The vinaigrette for the salad was so vinegary, it was inedible. It was such a disappointment because we had heard really good things about this establishment. So we decided to give it another try and dined in for a late lunch. Again, the food was so bland. Best place for dinner in Oro Valley! Tonight was our 5th time eating here. We have never had a dish we didn't love. Tonight we had a pizza with sausage and calabria chilies and risotto with shrimp and scallops! I recommend that everyone tries the pizzas and the lasagna. If you get the pizza, make sure it has the homemade sausage on it. Tonight we shared a piece of the pecan pie. It was fantastic. The sweetness level was perfect. Too often a piece of pecan pie makes you feel like you will have sugar overload. This was not the case with their pie. Finally, a shout out to Cole and Brian behind the bar (and our servers, as we like to sit where the action is). They create a wonderful atmosphere and they can make some awesome drinks! read more

My husband and I are regulars at Cafe Torino's Sunday Brunch. Their patio is always beautiful and well shaded. It's wonderful to sit out there and enjoy brunch. I will say without a doubt the Ouva il Prosciutto is amazing. They definitely don't skimp on the proscuitto, it is authentic and melts in your mouth. Most of the time their omelette specials, that change weekly, are spot on although it's hard for me to order anything other than the Ouva il Prosciutto. The service is relaxed and slower paced, something I have come to expect in an Italian Restaurant. I have also been here for dinner, it was a bit pricey and didn't stand out as much to me which is why this is only getting 4 stars instead of 5. If you need a place for Sunday Brunch, this is it. read more

Such a cute place!! We went for brunch post COVID on a Saturday and sat on the patio. We got mimosas and typical breakfast fare and it was all good. Service was great, and prices were decent. Not much to say-----if you are going open your doors and serve food, need to taste it first! Food was so salty----it's hypertensive crisis waiting to happen. Some serious customer service recovery needed that the restaurant neglected to do for patrons---there were at least 3 tables confirmed how sAlty the sauce on the pizza was--it should not be a cascade effect phenomenon. if your customer gives you feedback after being served then you missed the eight ball. This was our second visit, the first being before they expanded. I'm so happy to say it was such a pleasure to spend my birthday meal there. I had a bit of a craving for pizza, and lately I have been nothing but disappointed in the pizza here in Oro Valley. Good news, this pizza rocked. If you are particular about your pizza, and love a good thin crispy chewy crust, you're gonna love this pizza. My daughter had the risotto, loved it. My mother had the Salmon special, and trust me, watching her clean that plate was awesome. Our server was delightful, attentive and we lacked for nothing. Couldn't be happier with our choice. We landed a little early for lunch at Harvest which wasn't open yet, so we decided to give Cafe Torino another go. It's across the street. Like all restaurants in the country right now, we hope they'll make it. No problem getting in as people all aren't getting out much, especially at lunch time. Our server was very nice. Not sure if she was part of the family? I had brushetta with chicken salad. Was very good. I definitely believe in second chances, so I'm happy this worked out. I received a private message from an employee, Daniele B ( I wonder if management is aware that she is responding on their behalf, yikes!) at the establishment apologizing that they were not up to the "Starbucks standard".Not sure what she meant , maybe that means they can't offer polite and attentive service like Starbucks does? In addition to our attentive server, multiple other team members checked on us, refilling water and asking about our experience. They had a nice outdoor AC that kept us cool. This place has gone downhill. Used to come here frequently but recently had a bad experience with a certain redhaired waitress who showed obvious signs of racial prejudice. I ain't no snowflake but it was obvious that we were not welcome here because we were a couple shades darker than the rest of the patrons. Waitress never came to take our order. We waited for a long time and had to get up to find someone to take our order. The redhead from hell came over and immediately dished out attitude to my elderly parents including my elderly father who is a disabled Vietnam veteran. I guess that's how these privileged folks show their appreciation for veterans. If you want respect and exemplary service, I recommend the Crying Onion. Caffe Torino needs to close down and call it quits or find better staff who aren't over the hill and out of touch. read more
