We went for a late breakfast. Food was fine. I asked for bacon crispy like a cracker and said it was ok if it was burnt. It came out not crispy at all. The watermelon Mimosa was disgusting. I couldn't even drink it. My friend didn't like her watermelon mojito either. Eggs were fine, grits were good. Potatoes came out not hot but they were still good. They were cooked with onions. So, this place is hit or miss ! We have been here about 3 times. 2 out of 3 were poor. Breakfast was cold, toast burnt, coffee cold. The wait staff is cold. The one time it was decent we came late. FINALLY! I have had their dinner..... and WOW! Look, I get all you brunchers out their... but I can't really have eggs...so brunch is hard for me.... I have been wanting to try the dinner menu... but just can't ever seem to get there. BUT I DID! We all know I love their blueberry mojito! It is delicious and super strong! I actually can't stand eating blueberries but for some reason I love this drink? So odd We started with the Calamari Fritto Misto.... I have never had such soft/buttery calamari. You bite into the strip and it melts in your mouth... You know how some places have chewy calamari.. well not this place. I didn't want to stop eating it! I could have had seconds of it! I got Rigatoni Pomodoro with grilled chicken on top! It was very good! My bf got the pollo con pancetta and he fell in love. He said it was the best "chicken parm" he has ever had. I have been a fan of Luna Rosa for years. We went there for their Sunday Gravy which was amazing. However I decided to splurge and have a very nice bottle of wine. I chose the 2016 Spottswoode Cab. When the server brought it to the table the bottle was a 2017 which is not as desirable but I went with it anyway. The wine was served way too cold so obviously it had been stored way too cold. I have a wine cellar and store my reds at 58 degrees so I know my wine temperatures. I truly believe that this great wine was comprised by poor storage. This is the most unprofessional establishment I've ever been to. No service animals allowed. I was required to sit outside with a registered PSA service animal. Then I accidentally knocked off a pepper shaker because of a sideways table and was unable to order food because I was told I did it on purpose. Normally one of my 3 favorite spots in Delray, but just a bizarre experience today. They had a veal cutlet eggs Benedict on the specials, so I ordered. It came out probably 7 minutes later and after the first bite, I thought, wow that seemed cold. Took another bite or 2 and it felt like the meal came out of the refrigerator. So I flagged the waitress down and asked her to either go warm it up or cook it again. Shortly after the owner comes over to me and says you know there's a lot of cold in there? I said but the eggs were cold... he turned and walked away. 5 minutes later a fresh meal comes back out and it was honestly the same temperature. I have no idea what the issue is but I don't see why the dish should be cold!? There was a piece of prosciutto between the veal and the eggs, but it wasn't a block of ice. No reservations, but our party of 11 was able to get a spot al fresco on a lovely Sunday for brunch for my birthday. It was quite warm but we made it work. The drinks were ok, the food was pretty great. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We sat and chatted a good while. Service was great! They even brought my waffle breakfast out with a candle in it - that was so sweet and thoughtful. Parking is a little odd...valet is on Atlantic before you get to Ocean. If you pass it, you have to find the opening between 2 buildings, drive through that valet parking (which is not for Caffe Luna Rosa), you need to turn RIGHT and then RIGHT again and then RIGHT again onto Atlantic and don't miss it the 2nd time. I have been coming to Luna Rossa for over 20 years for both brunch and dinner. Food is always delicious and service has always been very good as well. On this occasion this is what the bar area looked like, what an embarrassment. I unfortunately was unable to get a picture of the bartender having his lunch behind the bar in full view of the patrons. This display of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. With regard to the response from the owner why don't you address the manager and the waitstaff sitting at the bar on their phones. Also, there were approximately four "restaurant" tables occupied while I was there. The bartender could've easily had his shift meal prior, following or during a short break as all other restaurant employees at other restaurants do. Great service, yummy food and awesome location with a view of the ocean! We ate here for a family member's birthday dinner. We had a large party and a dog. The restaurant ended up building us a table specifically to accommodate us because they only allow dogs in a certain section of the outdoor patio. We were seated far to the right of the restaurant in front of a clothing shop, but It was perfect because we had our own section where the two young kids getting up and down or crying wouldn't bother anyone. We also saw them build two more tables for two other parties who were seated after us. The burrata appetizer was delicious. I also loved the caprese salad and cheese ravioli. The cheese ravioli was my favorite. My mother-in-law and I split these two dishes and the server had the two dishes split for us when the meals came out, which was a nice touch. For dessert, we ordered a sample platter and the waiters sang Happy Birthday as well. They do have a kids menu too. read more

The shrimp was reportedly very good - breaded with a sort of sweet and sour sauce. The chicken parm and the cheese ravioli were both very good but the desserts were excellent! They both came with a side of whipped cream and strawberries. Would never again go for a holiday. Made reservations and didn't get seated till an hour later. Badly orchestrated due to poor management. Host was a waste he did not know how to do his job properly, you got a quicker table based on what monetary note you slipped him my nephew tipped him $20 and we were waiting 35 minutes when a man with a large party came and slipped him a large bill and got seated in 5 minutes. We Never got a server, we had to get up and get our drinks, I had to look for a server to get me water. We were treated like an afterthought and when we complained to the manager Gabriel he said he'd make sure everything went well. That NEVER happened. We waited over an hour for our meal. When we complained Gabriel told us we can't expect things to always go right on a holiday, that he was short a dishwasher and he had enough problems tonight. Really??????? He took 25% off our meal and said "I told you I'd take care of you" My husband had the special lamb and it was over breaded cooked terribly and tasteless. The asparagus was like mush. My meal was not bad but my shrimp was somewhat overcooked as well! It was an aweful experience. I've been to Luna Rosa for breakfast a few times and had a good experience but nothing I'd brag about, but it obviously has gone downhill. The service and food are not worth fighting traffic on Atlantic Ave. to go there.
