    Double espresso & biscotti
    Yelper N.

Fave hang-out. The barista is multi-lingual, friendly and concocts the best caffeinated drinks around (thanks to the top-of-the-line coffee machines). The sweet pairings of biscotti and cookies are a must. An affordable & enjoyable experience, "to stay or to go". Opens 6 am and closes at 1 am everyday. Yep!

Since we were in Forest Hills, Queens, and I had never been here, we chose to go to Eddie's. This place is really good, with an extensive menu of desserts ranging from soda floats to banana splits and many other little treats. A sweet lover's paradise. Personally, when it comes to ice cream or sweets, I tend to keep it simple. Give me a good vanilla ice cream scoop and I am a happy person. Give me a great ice cream scoop and I am even happier. Let's just say I left this place very satisfied. I had my basic yet delicious ice cream scoops. Yum. I am currently following a strict diet regimen for one more month, but after that, I will definitely come back for some of their tasty ice cream. My son, wife, and friends were also enjoying their sweets. This is a great place. They have seats, but it gets really busy and there is usually a bit of a wait. Yet that is not a bad thing. It shows how popular the place is. If you are looking for sweets, come check this place out.

From the decor to the serving cups you are getting no frills but great quality. Its a traditional ice cream parlor. And im not mad at it. They have counter seating for small groups to tables in the back. We had a group of 6 and was seated quickly. I had the ice cream float with root beer syrup. The vanilla ice cream sat delicately on top of the soda. The soda wasn't overly sweet and fizzy. I had time to enjoy the ice cream and the soda separately. My daughter had vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. There was not a sprinkle in sight when she was done. This isn't our first time. Nor will this be our last. All the ice cream flavor are of great quality. The fudge to the sundae is classic. Ideal for after dinner or date night after a movie. Dont forget to bring cash.

There's so many little tchotchkes and random knickknacks to buy or just browse while you're enjoying a cone or sundae. I do want to point out that their flavors do change den the ones online (ended up choosing different flavors once we realized the ones we wanted to try were taken off the menu). We got two scoops of ice cream and you can get it in either a cup or cone. The cannoli ice cream was surprisingly good. I'm not the biggest fan of cannoli but my fiancé wanted to try it and we were both pleasantly surprised. It had pieces of mashed of cannoli bits within and the mini chocolate chips also added a really nice flavor. The second scoop we got was the Coconut Coffee which I was excited about. It was also really good as well however, it is not an ice cream you can have a lot of. I think there were caramel swirls within that made it super sweet so it was definitely a lot tougher to finish after the first few bites. The service was great as well. You do have to be patient as there is only one person who is taking the order and scooping the ice cream but we didn't feel like we waited too long.

I'll go in order chronologically…read more Earlier in the day, I tried the hojicha strawberry latte. The strawberry part was more like a jam, so it was a little sweet for me, but overall a decent drink. I would have preferred crushed strawberries, though. Later, I came back for dinner at the tail end of the day. I was leaning towards the beef curry bowl because I like bolder flavors, but the karaage chicken is a hit here, so I ordered that in bowl form. First off, all the contents were very fresh! The chicken pieces were crisp and tasty. The burdock on the side had a smoky umami that was quite nice - it was the best of the 3 sides - and the spicy mayo was on point. Still, I think I would have gone with the curry given my taste buds, but overall the karaage bowl is a solid choice. Lastly, while the container looks small in circumference, it is taller than other takeout containers, so the portions are really about the same as any other restaurant. The nori fries were subtle in flavor but the nori still made its presence known. All in all it was a great experience. The owners are very nice, also. I will go back for the curry and yakiniku, too.

The karaage seems to be made fresh to order every time and it's the perfect balance of crisp, light, and moist little nuggets of fried chicken. You can't go wrong with any of the hand rolls or onigiri, either. I love the takana (mustard greens) onigiri and the spicy tuna and salmon avocado are my favorite from the hand rolls. The junior size of the bowl is the perfect snack-sized portion of food. The grilled unagi and the salmon ikura junior bowls are my favorite. I haven't tried the sandwiches yet, but I will be sure to! The service at Hi Node is so friendly. The staff greets everyone and they are so warm and welcoming. There's not a ton of indoor seating, but I've always managed to get a seat to either enjoy my food there or to wait while it's prepared and take it to go.
