First off service sucked ,lady had her headphones on the whole time speaking with someone. Second , I told her we were staying to have coffee ,she brought us to go cups , as if they didn't want us staying there ,Atleast that's how we felt, the menu was horrible ,not many options at all , they only take cash , what place doesn't take card and they didn't have an atm in there! This place caught my eye and I wanted to try it out. I love a good cappuccino and biscotti. That's what I ordered and here's my review: I ordered the decafe cappuccino and two anisett biscotti's, first off I'm not sure if it was because it was decaf but it could have been stronger. Not a bad thing if you don't like it strong. It had room for improvement, it really it wasn't horrible. Secondly, the biscotti seemed like it wasn't twice baked like they should be. I look for a certain hardness to them that I like, these were not that hard, but I dunked them in my cappi anyway, lol. They needed more anisett flavor to them too. Again, both things needed a little improvement in my opinion, but they were not bad. Prices are comparable to places in the area and the staff was friendly and nice. I'm definitely a fan of this place, even if I don't necessarily care for the gelato- I was happy they had dark chocolate which is kind of rare in general, but it was sooo sweet. I don't blame the establishment; I'm just not used to eating gelato. And I really consider this place to be the epitome of cozy. It's average sized, but as soon as you walk in, whether it's the slightly dim lighting to the medium blue walls, it felt like a really organized bedroom, with an ice cream station/cashier area and tables and chairs of course! Cute place I passed by on my way home one evening. I kept it in mind for coffee/dessert spot when I need one. I did yelp it and everyone talked about the pistachio gelato. I came here for a little dessert after my bday dinner at Uvarara this past Wednesday. I had the pistachio gelato, and so did my husband. We both loved it. It had great pistachio flavor. While $3 a scoop seems normal for gelato, it was quite a tiny scoop. Good thing gelato is extremely rich because otherwise it would really feel like a rip-off. read more

I didn't hate the place, but I wouldn't come back. I haven't been to this place before and I was going there hoping for some good, REAL, cappuccino. Unfortunately they just have a cappuccino machine (like the kind they have in 7-eleven) that they just press a button and put it into a deli cup. I wasn't expecting this AT ALL from an Italian cafe, it was a huge disappointment. I also had a 3$ scoop of the stracciatella gelato, which I found delicious but overpriced. On the other hand, it was pretty quiet in there and it looked pretty. Also, the girl behind the counter was super sweet. However, that isn't enough to make me want to spend my money. Sad to say I won't be back. P.S. they do brew their own coffee and I am not sure but I THINK they make fresh espresso. So if that is your thing then this might be the place for you. The atmosphere is not bad, though the surfaces (floor, tabletops, chairs, etc) are too "hard" to yield coziness: some wood or upholstery or even a runner carpet would be a welcome touch. And the one employee I encountered was quite pleasant. So I don't know what it was - maybe because I got black coffee and not cappuccino or gelato, maybe it was the day of week or the time of day (late afternoon on a Saturday) - but I have a hard time understanding the four- and five-star reviews based on my experience at Caffe Latte. Let's start with the coffee. It came from the Nescafe machine that spits out all variety of drinks. The kind of machine, as another reviewer pointed out, that you might see in a 7-11. I didn't see the lady push the button, and by the time my attention was drawn to the machine it was just dispensing hot water into the paper cup. The paper cup, which was then carried three feet and emptied into a ceramic mug on a saucer. Not only do we have tacky and waste, we now pile on thermal loss. And of course, the flavor was what you would expect out of a convenience store coffee machine - meh. Moving beyond the quality of the coffee, which by itself I could forgive, what really bothered me about this place was the really strong and scented tobacco smoke smell (hookah?) that filled the place about 45 minutes into my visit. Several young men kept using the cafe as a passageway between the front door and some space at the back that remains invisible to ordinary cafe patrons, so I'm assuming they were the ones generating the smoke. But the smoke infiltrated the cafe and lingered, and it was driving my eyes and nose crazy. I don't care if you want to have a smoke shop as a secondary business, but BUILD A BETTER BARRIER BETWEEN THE SMOKE ROOM AND THE CAFE AND/OR PURCHASE AN AIR PURIFIER FOR THE CAFE. THE SMOKE SMELL WAS HORRENDOUS!! End of rant. Why did I stick around so long if the smoke was bothering me, you might ask. Well, I was in the neighborhood to deliver/pick up my daughter at a birthday party a few blocks down on Metropolitan. To bide my time during the 1 1/2-hour party I figured I would patronize a local coffee shop, and this place seemed to fit the bill. Once the smoke entered the picture I was basically a captive audience. If I find myself in the same situation again, next time I'll wander a little farther to the clean air of Starbucks at the Atlas Park development. read more

Been living in middle village for 3 years and always passed this place but never gone in. Hubby and I finally decided to try it for their gelato and were hooked! It's real gelato like the one you get in Europe! Prices Are reasonable and the people have been friendly every time i visit. I haven't tried anything else but I'm sure it's good. read more

I would come here all the time last semester to do homework and just relax with some coffee. The girls that work here are incredibly sweet and polite and the coffee is great. Their cookies are pretty good as well. A bit more expensive than your average deli coffee, especially for a poor college student but the quality and taste are superb and definitely worth it. read more

Stopped here on two occasions while working in Middle Village. First occasion, ordered a pistachio gelato, which was quite excellent and with the right texture. Second occasion, ordered a cappuccino, which really wasn't a cappuccino; you could see the bubbles in the ill-prepared milk foam that did not mix well in the espresso. I tried notifying the barista that the foam wasn't properly perpared, but she immediately became defensive and claimed that she had served the same foam to a previous customer who ordered a latte (not certain how much time has passed since the last customer). As someone who worked as a barista for a while, I would have rather not heard the last part. A. You should always prepare fresh milk foam for every patron B. Latte micro-foam does not have the same consistency as cappuccino micro-foam. I would recommend management to train workers in using the espresso machine. I understand it can be difficult to prepare, if no one is telling you what you are doing wrong. Otherwise, this is a promising business, that can certainly improve with a few minor adjustments. read more
