Once again my meal at cafe Italia was fantastic. This time I tried the pizza they offer. So good and fresh. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was wonderful.

Food is great! It's unassuming from the outside but the quality of the food and service were excellent all around! We got the bucatini carbonara, scallopini di pollo, and lasagna. Pasta seemed hand made and perfectly al dente. Of the 3 we enjoyed the scallopini di pollo the most but you can't go wrong with either one of them. Our only complaint was the seating. Table seemed too high for the chairs so it was a bit uncomfortable. We will be back regardless!

My dear friend and I had dinner at Caffe Italia on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. She surprised me with the dinner treat. Thank you my friend! It was on a Tuesday night. They weren't super busy with about one table occupied at the time we arrived. A few more customers came in after us. It's a cozy and comfortable restaurant with plenty of seating. Our server was nice and helpful, but her attention span was a tad delayed. We had to ask for things a couple times before she gave them to us. Menu had unique selections of entrees. We got 1 pizza, 2 main dishes, and 2 drinks. I enjoyed my La Pasta Al Tonno that came with tuna plus one blood orange sicilian drink. Pasta had a beautiful bright orange sauce. Tuna was delicious! Drink was quite refreshing. My friend got the Parmigiana di Melenzane e Pomodoro dish that had eggplant. Sauce was tasty, but she didn't taste much of the eggplant. Her fresh lemonade was just okay... nothing special. We didn't care too much for the cold prosciutto and burrata cheese on the Parma Burrata Pizza. Though the pizza sauce and crust were amazingly good. Overall our meal was decent, but nothing spectacular that would make us return for more. You can give them a try. Perhaps you may receive a better dining and food experience. All the best Caffe Italia!

Newer spot in Pasadena serving up some solid Italian food. Came by for lunch on a weekday with some coworkers and it did not disappoint. Our server Lilly was great, super attentive and helped guide us through the menu. I ordered the bucatini amatriciana and it was delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly and really soaked up the sauce. My coworkers got a margherita and a Sicilian pizza and I tried a slice of both. They were both pretty good, especially for the price. Overall I really enjoyed the pasta here and I'm looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

Amazingly delicious. A group of us ladies celebrated Barbarina's birthday here and enjoyed the variety of selection. We had eggplant parm pomodoro, mortadella & burrata panini, orange Sicilian soda, potato focaccia, pear salad, mushroom truffle rigatoni, eggplant parm panini, cannoli, el forgota cafe, gelato, amareno coppa. Everything was delicious and service was great! Such a great new little place!

Came to Caffe Italia with my parents as they had heard rave reviews about the food, and those reviews were not wrong! What a treat. We had a phenomenal meal and Peter was such a sweetheart. We have a new favorite restaurant to dine at now. The Beef Lasagna was a dream it just melted in my mouth honestly the best lasagna I've ever had, as did the Bucatini Limone which was in a delightful creamy sauce but it wasn't too heavy where you fill up too quickly. The focaccia was really nice and light and airy and he recommended taking some home and adding an egg or some bacon to it in the morning which sounds so tasty. The pizza was nice and thin and the meatball tasted like home. The tiramisu was the best I've had since Florence ten years ago and I've been chasing that high ever since. So fluffy and smooth but not soggy at all. And I traditionally haven't liked cannolis but they were super fresh and flaky and not oily. The menu is massive and there's so many things I want to try. I can't wait to come back again.

Amazing food, I had the pizza my friends pasta. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was a 10 out of 10. Cant wait to come back and try what els they have. Definitely a must come and enjoy.

I tried the spicy penne and meat lovers pizzas. Both great options. The food was pretty good. I was expecting average at best but was pleasantly surprised. The taste and quality of the dishes were up there. The vibe is great cozy and has a nice Mom and pop feel. I will definitely revisit this place the next time pizza cravings hit me.

Fresh and authentic Italian food. A perfect place for an uncomplicated dish. You can taste every ingredient. The potato focaccia was my favorite. Chewy and tasty. The pasta sauce was colorfully vibrant and fresh. Basil was necessary for the margherita focaccia. I need to try pizza next time. Tiramisu was very balanced, nicely moistened, not too sweet. Like i said its simple.

Loved the place, we came in at the busiest time , so it took a little longer to serve us, but I understand and I was patient. We finally got drinks and food and I must say thank God I stayed because everything was amazing, Food, drinks and dessert: Definitely will be back.

    Limoncello ice cream

Really great local Italian Restaurant in Pasadena. Owner and chef Peter is from Sicily and you can tell he is passionate about his food. We loved all of the pasta dishes, especially the pesto pasta and the fettuccine ragu. The pizza and calzone were huge and the crust had a nice texture. The limoncello ice cream was delicious and refreshing. We will definitely be adding this place to our go to family dinner spots.

Our waiter was incredibly passive and at times it felt like we were being completely ignored. He would attend to tables around us but never checked in with us, had what seemed like a limited knowledge of the menu, and offered a half assed apology at the end of the night. The table next to us was clearly someone of importance, because they kept getting "gifted" foods, cheeses, drinks, etc. - which is fine, but only magnified our poor service. We also saw our food and beverages as well as other tables food and beverages be delivered to the wrong tables. My fiances sorbet was given to the special table next to us, but they had already had their dessert, and so the wait staff left with it and a minute later delivered it to our table melted. There was one staff member that was wonderful, and it seemed like he was a busboy who was filling in for our waiter (sorry I did not get his name) but he was very kind, personable, and would be the reason we come back, aside from the great food. There was also no acknowledgement of the special occasion we were celebrating, which is a minor thing but at other restaurants it's usually never missed and helps make for a nice experience especially when we mark that we are here celebrating an anniversary. All in all it was a disappointing experience. We may return for the food in the future, because it was excellent, but the service needs to be worked on.

The interior was very clean and immaculate, and we were seated immediately once we told them of our Dine LA reservation. We were given tomato gazpacho for amuse bouche; it wasn't overly sour as expected from a tomato-based soup, and it prepared our palate for the following dishes. Then we got the prosciutto and fried calamari for appetizer; the prosciutto and figs provided a nice balance of flavors, while the calamari had a good fry to it and an excellent aioli complementing it. We then got the mushroom risotto and branzino for main course. The risotto was a bit saltier than expected, so we needed several water breaks before we could continue finishing it. The branzino was excellent with a good grill to it, however. We took our tiramisu and ricotta olive oil cake for dessert home, and they were both delicious. Our Dine LA experience was a good one here! We definitely want to give this place a try with their regular menu as well.

We came first, but they seated older people first; both walked in with no reservation. How do i know? Cause i heard the conversation, and they realized it and seated me after that. The food. Not that bad; it's good, but more Italian-American style, not properly Italian. Risotto isn't bad, but damn, the garlic was so heavy and overpowering, 6/10 The sweet corn agnolotti was good, sweet and creamy, 8/10. The portion was enough, not big and not small. We also ordered the calamari and artichoke, but i forgot the picture. As an appetizer, the coating of the calamari was not crunchy, more like soggy and very salty. 4/10. San Daniele Prosciutto and Fig, 8.5/10: this was the only appetizer we chose that was close to proper Italian. Scallopine di Pollo was good, 7/10. It comes with artichoke; the portion was enough. The pomme puree saved the dish. The chicken itself was very forgettable. Olive oil cake was good, 7/10. The location itself is good--plenty of parking. The restaurant was very loud; we could hear other people's conversations. I wouldn't come back.

When you enter The establishment you are immediately aware of the great aromas coming from the kitchen. After walking through some tables and chairs, I was greeted at the counter by a friendly hello and 'how can I help you?' I asked a number of questions concerning the menu. I knew there was pizza but I wanted to know more about their sandwiches and salads. I found out that they do have daily / weekly specials that are a great value. I decided to order a special small Italian sausage pizza and an order of six nude chicken wings with ranch dip on the side. I sat down and waited for the order to be completed. There were a few people at some tables finishing up their lunch. While I was there the phone was constantly ringing with takeout orders. The walls had simple decorations that created a nice ambiance. When my order was called, I was given instructions on how to carry the bag as to not disturb the toppings and cheese on the pizza. As I walked, the smell of the fresh pizza and wings was enticing. The wings were just as I ordered. I enjoyed that they have not been overcooked. The wings were tender and moist. The ranch dressing dipping sauce was a great choice. I look forward to trying some of their other homemade sauces. The Italian Sausage Pizza was cooked just the way I like it. The crust had a nice crisp bottom and great flavor. The toppings of olive and onion were a perfect combination with the Italian sausage. I was happy that I ordered the small size rather than the mini so that I could enjoy some cold pizza the next day. Great flavor even on day two. On another trip I ordered the Italian Grinder Sandwich and a large Antipasto Salad. The salad was full of flavor and fresh vegetables and meats. The sandwich was huge. More ingredients than I expected with a great Italian flavor, the bread was incredible as well. I tried the sandwich both cold and hot and both ways the flavor was the star of this sandwich. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some of the other items on their menu. Fresh pastas are next on my list of things to try. I anticipate that whatever I order will be exceptional!
