Fresh and authentic Italian food. A perfect place for an uncomplicated dish. You can taste every ingredient. The potato focaccia was my favorite. Chewy and tasty. The pasta sauce was colorfully vibrant and fresh. Basil was necessary for the margherita focaccia. I need to try pizza next time. Tiramisu was very balanced, nicely moistened, not too sweet. Like i said its simple.

I had a wonderful meal with friends. We had the lasagna bolognese and the Sicilian pizza. The waitress was very attentive and the owner came by our table to make sure we had everything we needed. Very quiet and able to have conversations. I had the lemon cake for dessert that was delicious. The best Italian I have eaten in a long time

The intentional service, deliciousness, and personal ambiance is incredible. Stopped by and immediate favorite with how much flavor is packed for an amazing price too. Dining alone or with family you will have a great time engaging chef Peter bringing his home to every dish and experience.

Delicious all the way. Must must must try.

Excellent food and service. I'm from New Jersey and often feel LA lacks great no-frills options for simple, homemade style Italian food at a reasonable price point. Enter Caffe Italia. The food is excellent and you can taste the freshness and care that goes into each dish. This brought me back to childhood in New Jersey, which is the highest compliment I can give. The prices are incredibly reasonable and the food is fantastic. Please support this place and keep it in the neighborhood.

Incredible family dinner for our party of 15! Table was beautifully set, Chef came out and started us off with various different specialty focaccias, calzones pizzetas, and tomato burrata salads. That was Followed by eggplant parmesan for the table-which was out of this world. Some of the items we ordered among our party and we all tasted and shared. Lasagne bolognese, Milanese Parmesan, penne à la vodka, fettuccine Alfredo, pepperoni pizza, spaghetti polpete, chicken scaloppine Al limone, and 2 specials of the night- braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and a penne tartufo (truffle) with crisped mortadella. Dessert was flourless chocolate cake, gelato, tiramisu and warm panettone bread pudding. Everything was exceptional including the service! We will definitely be going back often and highly recommend this new gem in Pasadena!

Cafe Italia is a gem. Chill modern Italian atmosphere, kind attentive staff, and really good food. Big portions, great flavor, and just an overall solid spot. Great place to stop in for a tea and lunch. :) Vodka sauce pasta was amazing and they added vegetables to make it more vegetarian friendly. GREAT spot

I was welcomed immediately upon entering! The staff were so friendly. This restaurant is casual and family friendly! Now for the best part... the food was FRESH and absolutely packed with flavor! So delicious. I was shocked by how great this small spot is! Another great spot to try in Pasadena. Highly recommend giving it a try for lunch or a casual dinner

I encountered a remarkable experience, it's my second time in this location and coincidentally served by an extraordinary server named Angel. From exceptional quality checks to tending to any need to make my family feel satisfied, he definitely exceeded my expectations yet again. Not only was the server attentive but the managers Philip and Miriam as well. They were not only ensuring the dishes came out at good timing but also engaging in a welcoming conversation. The pasta quality is truly unmatched but the seamless service really set them apart. Everything was phenomenal per usual, can't wait to be back !! As Italians born and raised in Italy, we grew up eating pasta almost daily, and I consider myself a pretty decent cook and connoisseur of pasta sauces and traditional dishes. Uovo delivered in every way. We tried their tasting menu, which included pasta all'amatriciana, carbonara, tortellini in a beautifully clear broth, and a rich Bolognese sauce. Every dish delivered an explosion of flavor. The guanciale was among the best I've ever eaten outside of Italy. Kudos to Uovo for delivering true Italian flavors that so many so-called Italian restaurants fail to achieve. If I had one small criticism, it would be that they don't serve Italian bread. When the sauce is this good, "la scarpetta" is mandatory. Pasta is the heart and soul of any Italian restaurant, and not knowing how to properly cook it is a cardinal sin. We can't wait to visit Uovo again soon.

We started out with Bianco Negronis and the Hamachi Crudo, which was citrusy and perfect. The blistered bread and ricotta was also such an indulgent treat. For Mains, we shared the Truffle Cavatelli and the Charred Scallops Risotto. The truffle and sausage were so rich (in most definitely a good way) and paired so well with the slightly more bracing and magnificent Charred Scallops Risotto. The last dish, with the Calabrian chili and uni butter and mouth-watering scallops, is one of the best things I've eaten in years. To finish, we all shared the Pistachio Tiramisu. Not something I would have ever thought up, but so good. This place is a delight.

Service is always impeccable and we usually order the same dishes but this time we did venture out a bit since there was also a special menu. The Caesar salad and lamb chops is a must get every time we go. We had also added the charred broccolini this time. The Caesar salad was amazing as always and the charred broccolini was a first for me at Marina and that was also very good. However, my partner and I were extremely disappointed with the lamb chops! We order this every time we come and this time, the seasoning is different. Don't get me wrong, it was still okay but since we already know how it is supposed to taste, based on the last 10 visits, this dish was a thumbs down this time. The seasoning on the lamb chops this time is something I would taste at a Chinese skewer spot. For the main dishes, we had ordered the branzino, the pork chop, dry aged NY strip, and crab tagliatelle. The branzino was not new to us but the rest are. They were all good except we would never order the pork chop again. When the pork chops arrive, my partner looked disappointed but still ate it. He had forced me to try some as well. We discussed it afterwards and the best way to compare it to is like eating Dave's Hot Chicken without the pickles and buns and has the coleslaw looking stuff with arugula mixed in. Well, I hope the lamb chops was a one off thing. My partner said we will have to hold off on going for a while now after this experience.

When you enter The establishment you are immediately aware of the great aromas coming from the kitchen. After walking through some tables and chairs, I was greeted at the counter by a friendly hello and 'how can I help you?' I asked a number of questions concerning the menu. I knew there was pizza but I wanted to know more about their sandwiches and salads. I found out that they do have daily / weekly specials that are a great value. I decided to order a special small Italian sausage pizza and an order of six nude chicken wings with ranch dip on the side. I sat down and waited for the order to be completed. There were a few people at some tables finishing up their lunch. While I was there the phone was constantly ringing with takeout orders. The walls had simple decorations that created a nice ambiance. When my order was called, I was given instructions on how to carry the bag as to not disturb the toppings and cheese on the pizza. As I walked, the smell of the fresh pizza and wings was enticing. The wings were just as I ordered. I enjoyed that they have not been overcooked. The wings were tender and moist. The ranch dressing dipping sauce was a great choice. I look forward to trying some of their other homemade sauces. The Italian Sausage Pizza was cooked just the way I like it. The crust had a nice crisp bottom and great flavor. The toppings of olive and onion were a perfect combination with the Italian sausage. I was happy that I ordered the small size rather than the mini so that I could enjoy some cold pizza the next day. Great flavor even on day two. On another trip I ordered the Italian Grinder Sandwich and a large Antipasto Salad. The salad was full of flavor and fresh vegetables and meats. The sandwich was huge. More ingredients than I expected with a great Italian flavor, the bread was incredible as well. I tried the sandwich both cold and hot and both ways the flavor was the star of this sandwich. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some of the other items on their menu. Fresh pastas are next on my list of things to try. I anticipate that whatever I order will be exceptional!
