Very good service, good food many to chose from, but the bread took a long time to come out to our table. There is bread behind my head on a booth from another family. When we got our food the pasta I got had a hair in it. The waitress took it off of my bill, so it was settled. There was also gum under my table when I put my leg up it got on my knee. Excellent homemade Italian food! If you are looking for the best Eggplant Parmesan in the Youngstown area search no more! I've tried it at several other restaurants and it's never as good as Caffe Capris'. Their creme brûlée changes for the season. Went tonight for NYE. Had dinner reservations for 5:00 for myself, husband and 3 year old son. Did not get seated until almost 5:20. Service was exceptionally slow. We asked for more bread (bc our order was taking so long) and the waitress told us the kitchen was running behind on bread and would try and bring out a few pieces. Waitress apologized several times for our food taking so slow. Finally got our food at 6:30. My son said there was not cheese on his cheeseburger so I told waitress - she came back and said there was cheese on it and SHOWED ME BY TOUCHING MY SONS BURGER! She lifted the bun up with her bare hands! Needless to say I did not let him eat his sandwich. Food was semi warm. Heard the table next to me ask for more pasta sauce bc there was barely any on their pasta and it was "gummy". We were in visiting from Columbus too - just so annoyed and disappointed! read more

Stopped here after visiting a friend's relative at a local facility. Place was nearly empty, and so we were immediately seated and served. The venue was spacious, with a large bar and both booth and table seating. We were given a small menu. I had asked our waitress if the gnocchi were potato or ricotta, to which she answered, "No. Cheese." So, if you're wondering...I'm guessing they are ricotta. I got the ricotta gnocci with Mama Q's sauce and the chicken parm. While waiting, we were given 3 small pieces of bread with olive oil dip. The oil was good quality, but three small pieces of bread for a party of 2 is cruel. We cut the 3rd piece in half. We later asked for more bread, which we were given without issue. The salad was your basic bagged salad--iceberg mix with some greens, olives, croutons and the house balsamic. The dressing was sweet, and was the highlight of an otherwise boring, small, side salad. The portions for lunch were on the smaller side, but enough to be filling. The gnocchi are small, light and airy. They were cooked well, and worked with the slightly sweet red sauce. The chicken parmesan was perfectly cooked: crisp with a good breading that did not get immediately soggy by the acidic sauce. We then finished with a chocolate mousse/cheesecake/cake hybrid that was supposedly made in house, and was not too rich. The "crust" is actually chocolate cake, which made the dessert less dense than typical styled desserts. Lunch was a little on the pricier side and lacking in quantity, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Go with the gnocchi and house dressing. read more

We had dinner at Caffe Capri yesterday. The eggplant is cut way too think, just not like it use to be, breading is not the same. Also the bread has changed, the one before this was just delicious. Why would you change a good thing? We also noticed the prices have increased and yes the portions are somewhat larger. Our waitress was awesome as is mostly the case. Overall an ok visit, but when you have something good going on, again why change it? read more

Let me start by saying...disregard the idiot below me's review. Obviously she has no idea what good food is. We went there for the first time the other night and I was very impressed. The atmosphere, ambiance was very impressive. Very nice looking place. The service was first rate. Our server Patrick had our courses out in an appropriate time, when we were done with one another came out right on time. Then theres the food.......wow. You have to have the Hungarian wheat pasta....just amazing. And do not go without trying the bruschetta you will love it!! read more

Way over rated! Their "red sauce" to me, was nothing more than plain tomato sauce with no seasonings. After waiting for almost an hour, what a let down. Ragu and Prego have better sauce. All three dishes that were ordered were bland and the service was not only slow, but the server acted like she did not want to be there. They have this birthday program They give you $10 toward entree which is nothing You cannot buy entree at Cafe Capri for $10. But they now add on 18% gratuity to your bill. You have lost a long time customer. I understand including the gratuity but to change amount of entree that is a big insult You should just do away with your birthday program!!!!!! read more

Please call gordon ramseys kitchen nightmares!!! The atmosphere is great, the decor is unlike anything we have in the area. That alone gets 5 stars for me but the food is repulsive. The exterior and decor is very misleading. You are lead to believe you are entering an upscale fine dining restaurant. I would compare the food to the quality of a TV dinner. Everything was microwaved, my pasta was dripping in water, i was choking from the overwhelming pepper used on my chicken, and you could taste the old fryer oil used to make our appetizers. Dont let the atmosphere fool you. I signed up for yelp to leave this very review. I am by no means a picky eater or someone quick to complain.. this is the worst restaurant in town and i wanted to warn others. read more

This place with its tackey mafia princess decor - is geared towards people that would eat the contents of a bus tubb as long it had sauce slapped on the plate.The food has not been good since the 80's.Our food was a disgrace- because cooking a filet the requested temp cant be fixed by slapping sauce on it-Med Rare ar Cafe Crap-pri means well done shoe leather. I've lived in Boardman most of my life, moved to Salem Ohio for 18 years, but always judged all other Italian Restaurants to Cafe Capri. My husband and I now live in Phoenix and truly miss Cafe Capri and it's BBQ chicken pizza, among many other favorites. I have been getting a small caffe capri salad from the carry out menu for several years. Today when I went to get it I was informed that they no longer carry the small salad only the large. The price was higher and the salad was the same size as the small salad that I had been getting. I will be no longer ordering from Caffe Capri when the price is almost double and the salad is the same size. I recently moved from this area so when I returned to visit a friend we decided to eat lunch here since it was always a very good, dependable place for lunch or dinner. What has happened in a year! I should have suspected when we pulled into the lot at noon on a weekday and there were only a few cars there. We walked into a near empty place and had to wait for the hostess who couldn't manage a smile or a kind word. After leading us to our table she was gone. Nary a word. This place wasn't like this before. It bustled at noon to the sound of people, dishes, the big screen TVs. The waitresses and hostesses actually interacted with the guests. Then came our waitress who spoke in a barely audible mumble. Then the food. That used to be the hallmark of the place. The bread with olive oil and cheese was a sad joke with no presentation. Just some grated cheese chunked into some olive oil in a small dish and some very average bread. My penne pasta was cold. Not just room temperature, but cold. I would have told the waitress had she ever come around. This has turned into the typical Boardman eatery...great guns for a while then when it gains it's reputation it slides. And boy, has this place place taken a slide. The employees have an attitude that, given the quality of my food, extends back to the kitchen and runs all the way to the front door. What a bunch of nice people. Was in town for class reunion. met my two cousins there for lunch. had lunch and a couple martinis. By the way the bar tender doesn't have a clue how to make a martini but if u know what's good for u don't dare tell her that. i made the mistake and did but all i wanted was the way i like them which is ice cold. she couldn't do it. we reminisced for a while laughing and eating and drinking. thought we were just having fun @ 2 in the afternoon. next thing i know the manager says sorry we can't serve u anymore we've had complaints. i look around there's nobody else in the bar. what????? i wasn't happy. paid the bill and left and did say a few choice words. get out to the parking lot. no other cars there. next thing i know three boardman police cruisers show up. they called the frinkin police on us. they didn't have a problem serving me that afternoon or taking my money but as soon as i walk out the door they call the police on me after i probably dropped at least a 100 bucks on lunch. eventually the police realized what was up after i politely explained to them the situation. for safety reasons and others we got a ride home and came back and picked the car up later. that's my cafe capri story. read more
