The food is always delicious and the vibe at CharBenay's is uplifting and fun. It's a great time every time!

As anyone who has read my reviews knows, I don't give 5 stars without extreme reason. Here I wish I could give 4.75. Damn near 5 star. Went for Sunday Brunch. Food was absolutely first rate. Staff is friendly and helpful but this is a true winery setup. Not self serve but no table service. I would say as a whole, this place deserves much more credit than it receives. Get away from the world and treat yourself to a quiet getaway. read more

Had a reservation for 8. Arrived, there was no host/hostess. Had to check in with the bar and seat ourselves. Had to ask the bar for menus (only had 5). Sat for nearly half an hour without service before we decided that our business wasn't wanted and left. read more

Probably one of best chicken parm dishes I've had in a long time! Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, made almost perfect! Great house sauce! Great selection of wines. 2nd time there, will be there again and is in our rotation! I would highly recommend! read more

Beautiful winery! We arrived at 4 on a Saturday in December as a party of 8. We didn't make reservations as it was a last minute decision. Luckily they were able to accommodate us but be mindful a lot of the tables had reservations made to them. The place was decorated in elegant Christmas decorations. You check in and order your drinks and food at the bar. We had the blackberry, apple and cranberry and moscato wine which were all SO good. There was a band playing nice music in one of the rooms with people dancing. Throughout the evening, the owner, Char, checked in on us a few times. She was very personable and helpful. All our food was delicious! We ordered the prime rib, pickle flatbread, chicken Parmesan wedding and French onion soup, peppers and oil with bread and muscles. Off the back patio is the river which would be so nice for the other seasons. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner and entertainment with helpful and friendly staff. read more

Celebrated my 60th birthday party here!! It was BEAUTIFUL the decorations, food and atmosphere was magical!! Char did an awesome job setting things up and we couldn't be happier!! We chose CharBenay because were were seeing a show at the Robbins Theater and wanted to be able to walk to it since we were coming from out of town. I called on Saturday morning to make reservations for five for that evening with no problem. We had no problem finding it and their ample parking lot made things simple. There was no hostess to greet us but our table was distinctly marked so, easy to find. I'm glad I spoke to the person taking reservations because she had explained there serving method. We pick up menus at the bar, made our decisions, then went back to the bar to order our drinks and dinner and pay for them. Our drinks were immediately made for us and we carried them to our table. Our dinners were served to us fairly quickly. Three of us had a mussel and shrimp pasta dish with lobster sauce. It was terrific, with oodles of sauce! A steak burger and fries and a vegetarian burger and fries were ordered by the others. Everyone was happy with there choices. Two of us chose the "flight" of wines. It was five samples for $9 and was fun to try some many different tastes. We had been told that there would be a band, but didn't really realize we would be seated so close to it. The band was ok, but rather loud. It made conversation over dinner really difficult. I would love to go back when there was no band or if we could be seated in a different room. (There was a private party in the room I would have preferred to be in). It also appeared that there was a rather large patio for warmer weather. read more

I love the wines at CharBenay's. The atmosphere is always very welcoming and relaxed, however, the last couple of times I have been the food has been subpar. Dishes that I really used to enjoy and lacklusterly thrown together and lack the flavor they once had. I'm not sure if there is a new chef, but I hope they get back to the good food they once served. read more

We made a reservation for 26 people. When we arrived no tables were set for us. The room was not air conditioned with temperatures in 80's. We eventually determined that we needed to order our food at the bar as there were no servers. My wife never received her meal despite being told it's coming right out. My glass of wine had the most sediment I've ever seen. We'll never go back. read more

DON'T COME HERE!! Here on Mother's Day...The people are rude here..they aren't clear about things and they made my family and me look stupid in front of everyone in there..The food isn't even worth $30 PER PERSON! Also they want to take your plate when you aren't done with it..And god forbid you lose a receipt cuz these people got something different from what they ordered and the lady at the bar couldn't change it cuz they didn't have it...I REPEAT DON'T COME HERE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! read more

We went to CharBenay's for Brunch and it was excellent!!! Our fave was the scrumptious waffles made with strawberries and cream sauce. The Bloody Mary bar had so many goodies you can add- shrimp, Buffalo chicken, cheese and meats, veggies.... We are definitely returning for more. Excellent food and excellent service. read more

This is such a nice winery! It's really nice inside. The bar looks great & the staff is so nice! Their wine is really good & so are the prices. It's very clean including the restroom. My wife and I visited on Friday Sept 11 which happens to be our anniversary. The decor and atmosphere was inviting. I don't know if it was because of covid mandates but they had us place our order at the bare where we found our service to be extremely friendly and helpful. We found CharBenay's to have more entree selections than most wineries in our area. Both dinners we ordered were vey good and delivered to our table quickly. The best part was the wine was very good. Its interesting that so many local wineries around might have nice atmosphere but come up short on wine quality. So thank you Charbenay's for keeping the main thing the main thing, To the owners: Well done, we have already told many of our friends about you and we will be back. This past friday night it was aces in every category. I've been here a few times and it's always a nice atmosphere and they often have live music.. The menus is a little limited but the burger and rosemary fries are excellent. The beer menu is also pretty limited (it's more of a wine place anyways).. I'm not sure about the service. I've only been there since Covid so I've always had to order and pay at the bar prior to sitting down to eat. The server brings your food to the table but you won't see anyone again unless you go back up to the bar to order/pay for more drinks or food. read more

The burger was the best I've had around here in a long time. Gourmet with a lot going on, very flavorful and all of the toppings were complimentary to one another. We ordered the cab and loved it but we liked all the samples we tried as well. Chelsea behind the bar was so sweet. I got take out on my first time trying this place and it didn't disappoint. I got the chicken franaise with crab meat, and I subbed angel hair instead of the large spaghetti noodles. The chicken was so tender I cut it with a fork. The butter type sauce was on the money. It taste like it was Made in France or something. Best meal I've had in about a year. It had takeout from almost every place in warren and niles and I was shocked how good that was. I called and thanked them, lol.
