The marinated chicken was delicious. The side of humus was lemony and very good. The portion was big enough to save some for later.

Overall experience/service - Hands down 5/5 and more if I could give it a higher rating. My boyfriend and I got done with the gym, he was starving, I was starving...hangry level. He was in the mood for Mediterranean food, so he went on yelp and found this magical place. We got to the area, which is pretty new for the Sterling/Dulles area. The restaurant is super cute from the lit up outdoor seating area to the well-decorated interior inside. We decided to sit at the bar and was welcomed by the nicest and friendliest waiter named Christopher! He was so helpful, as this was our first time here, and attentive to us the whole time we were there. We got our drinks and appetizers almost immediately after placing our order and the main dish came a little later, which was around 9pm...and we found out that this is also the closing time, but was not once rushed by the employees! Which I really appreciated while felt bad at the same time, so we downed the food like we haven't eaten in weeks. Drinks/Food - Also 5/5! Drinks - two words. SO CHEAP! My boyfriend saw the drinks menu and thought they had mistakenly given him the happy hour menu (it's even too good for any other regular HH menu)! Good beer selections for a very...very good price ($2.50-$3.50). Apparently it's even better during HH with $5 appetizers! You're welcome. Food - It wasn't hard to devour the food as quick as we did because everything we got tasted delicious! We shared a steak platter and an extra skewer of chicken, which came with a bed of rice, side of lettuce, Tzatziki sauce and warm pita. The chicken was a win in my book because the meat was perfectly seasoned and moist, the steak was pretty good too, and the Tzatziki sauce complimented both protein very well We also got the Dip Sampler and chose the Red Pepper Hummus and Roasted Eggplant, which came with stuffed grape leaf and warm pita...I could literally eat this everyday! The Red Pepper Hummus had a nice comforting flavor and the Roasted Eggplant was tangy and full of flavor as well. I liked both equally, so certainly give it a try! Hangry level...zero. Came here the other evening with my wife and two young kids for a quick bite. Mind you, the place was rather empty when we arrived- maybe 1/4 full if that. (Now I know it's bc this place stinks- but alas). Didn't realize I'd have to wait 24 minutes for an Italian combo and beef schwarma wrap. Once it arrived, no apology, no comment, nothing. Not to mention the fact the food was so overpriced. My combo looked like it broke up with its significant other before making its way to us. Sad. Lonely. Pathetic. My wife's meal must have been cooked by a vegan bc it was essentially a lettuce wrap- no meat whatsoever. For $9? Gimme a break. We were so disappointed that the next night we drove 45 minutes to Vienna in rush hour traffic to Raouche Cafe for some real Mediterranean food. We were a party of 7, all ordered meals. I ordered a mixed kabob of chicken and lamb at 3:07. At 3:15 2 more friends arrived and ordered food. 3:20 everyone received their meal, except me. At 3:35 the two friends that arrived later, received their food, which was chicken kabob and I had not received my kabob yet! No explanation other than "its coming".... Going here before and getting mixed results.First off, there are a couple of young people there who are absolutely fantastic employees.When I was in the business (food) I would hire these people in a heart beat.Ususally working the floor, very polite and hard working. Food?Now that's hit or miss. Falafel, hummus, Greek salad all very good. Seafood bisque; seafood broken dishwater without any seafood .Pizza margarita; dried up cardboard( I've had better frozen). This place has great food and we have been here on a regular basis because of it. Today however, the restaurant was nearly empty and we ordered three items. Despite the fact that there were 7 workers behind the counter, the food took 20+ minutes to arrive. My wife had to get her meal to go as she had limited time for lunch from work. Great menu, clean, good service, high quality of food, good variety, fast and fresh. Highly recommend to those with allergies, vegan, vegetarian, or those looking for a classic hearty dish. Their menu is vast but not overwhelming. As you enter you order at the counter and are given a number. The dining area where you sit and wait is clean. They have a very nicely stocked condiment/seasonings bar. We ordered the vegetable kabob platter (all kabob platters come with veggies, rice, and salad. The portions are great!), a skewer of falafel (nice and moist! They really did them right!), a portabello panini (which came with greens, tomato, and a smear of spicy mustard, which was a perfect touch. Also the portabello was very meaty and perfectly cooked), and the dip appetizer which came with babbaganoosh and hummus. The pitas they served were warm and fresh and plenty moist. We adore this spot! The concentration here is Mediterranean passage with a sprinkling of Italian dishes. There is a great determination things. A great place with great ambiance! My husband and I love their pizzas, which have been very good every time (carne amante and margherita), and we have recently discovered that kabobs (we've tried chicken and steak) were surprisingly good, too! Meat kabob platters come with a skewer of vegetables and it compliments the meat so well. Among the wraps, we really liked their chicken shawarma -- very flavorful and healthy! They have a large selection of draft beers as well, including local beers -- DC Brau, Old Ox, etc. There were a couple of times when we thought our food was a little dry (chicken shawarma and kabob wrap -- both happened to be wraps) and we were not a huge fan of their pasta, but overall, we've had good experience at this location. We've taken our out-of-town guests multiple times and they all enjoyed the food and ambiance. Keep up the good quality and service and we will continue to bring our business :) read more

My boyfriend and I went to this place for our Valentine's day dinner, and the first thing we noticed was how big the place was. The decor and atmosphere is very nice -- makes you feel like you were at a fancier restaurant. However, the price was relatively cheap for a place like this. The place was relatively full since it was Valentine's day, so the service suffered a bit. The cashier seemed to be a bit inexperienced, so she forgot our dessert (maybe a newcomer, so it's forgivable). Certain drinks are self-served and refillable. You seat yourselves with a number on your tray, so waiters can bring you the food. Tips were optional. Overall, I would recommend this place for a casual or budgeted date. read more

Great Mediterranean food, best gluten-free pizza I tried, good lemonade (mix it with ice and water, it might be too sweet/concentrated for you), great tzatziki sauce they bring along with crusty pita-croutons for fabulous wraps, I just love their food and service. They have open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared and pizza baked. This location has also extra bar section so I like this place for our coworker happy hours. Large menu, so something for a lot of tastes. However, for the price, ($37 for 2 entrees, 1 salad, 1 beer) it's just okay. My chicken alfredo, which everyone has eaten a thousand times, was very liquidy (not saucy, more like watery), had little flavor and needed a ton of salt, pepper and parm to bring out any flavor. Hubby's chicken kebab platter was very dry and lacked seasoning. Overall, not awful by any means, but Sahara is a much better choice, not to mention cheaper, for excellent kebabs. For my alfredo, this place has nothing on Olive Garden. That's not my fave by any stretch, but when you're saying OG is better, it can't call itself an Italian/Mediterranean restaurant. Oh the pizza... I've eaten from Cafesano many times, different locations as well. The Shwarma is great, fresh foods, good flavor for the Mediterranean items. Then I made the mistake to order a simple pepperoni pizza. What was delivered was visually unappetizing. The reason you will see two slices missing is because my wife and I tried a slice each. I was so disappointed in the first few bites, that in the trash it went. It was like cardboard crust with no actual tomato sauce. I had to double check the order and make sure we didn't actually get a white pizza. There was like 1-2 pepperoni on each slice, and I'm not sure what kind of cheese was used but it was a layer that looked stretched out over the pizza. I don't know how to describe it. Either way, it didn't look or taste appetizing. Check out the photos of the crust, missing sauce and the layer of cheese. Any local pizza joint will beat it, as a matter of fact I have faith your grocery store frozen pizza should beat it too. Taste is subjective, but I won't order that again. I'll stick to the Mediterranean items on the menu. read more

LOVE the Reston location so I was beyond excited to try this one! It's super spacious and well lit, overall great atmosphere. Food came very quickly. I ordered the Greek salad with steak skewer which was delicious but it was missing olives which was a disappointment. The chicken shawarma wrap is really great and comes with the best garlic dip ever, and the lavash chips are so flavorful and well seasoned! Parking is somewhat limited but not bad. When this place first opened, I came here just about every Friday. I was glad the website was up and running (due to long wait at the counter), I had so many issues placing my order; either the site wasn't working as there were limited items you can order online of which nothing I wanted. Called the restaurant placed my order and voice my concern. After continuing to have issues with online, it seems management didn't really care as much to correct the issue because when I voice my concern again, it was like it's their first time hearing about it. I kept hearing excuses as to why, restaurant busy, I'm sorry, we're new and still learning, etc... i just STOPPED going. Well, it's been over a year and decided to try again. Placed my order online and pickup at a specified time. When I arrive, I find that they didn't have my order ready. It's been 45mins since I placed the order. It will be a couple of minutes. 'What?', I said. They are just making it and now I have to wait 15 to 20 more minutes for my food. Manager blamed it on the system. Manager offered to refund me my skewer and I said 'No' and 'I just want my food for the specified time I requested via your system' I'm disappointed read more

This place is an awesome addition to Sterling. I love that the menu has so many options ranging from salads to Middle Eastern platters to Italian dishes. A friend and I split the chicken Alfredo and the Del Mar pizza. Both were delicious and great portions to share. The Del Mar had nice large shrimp and great flavor, the Alfredo was a little bland for my taste, but nothing some salt and crushed red pepper couldn't fix. We also had the tiramisu! Amazing. You kind of get the Panera/Corner Bakery vibe as far as the process of ordering at the counter and seating yourself, but the atmosphere is a million times better. Also they have a full bar! Seating is comfortable, and they have quite a few tables to accommodate larger parties. Definitely will be returning soon to try some of the platters and salads! read more

Please you must go to this place is quiet and insanely vibrant. The food is fresh the service is great, the people are really nice, very nice and peaceful, not overly like pretentious smiles but very sincere, the think that surprise us is that is so great they have a tipping box by the cashier, we suggest everyone tip as much as possible, because the service is very nice. If you like the one in Reston, think bigger, brighter, airier, bar (being finished, not yet open), easier parking and the same great food. I had the pollo pizza and the arugula salad. The food was exactly like the other location- nice crust on the pizza, fresh ingredients, executed well. I'm happy to have a choice of locations, knowing the quality is consistent, but I am hoping they will have the fresh tea and Meyer lemonade soon, which they didn't have on this visit. This may be my new location to frequent, simply because of the extra seating. They officially open next week, so give them a try! read more

The food is always really good the only issue I have with this restaurant is I'm supporting this restaurant and I called because I wanted an extra order of Pita they said they need to charge me for if I said no problem we will charge you and I was okay with that but I figured maybe a $1.00 or $2.00 at max but they charged me $3.00. Went back to try this place again. I ordered the falafel wrap, while my sister got a kabob plate. This is SO different from my first experience. The food was not good. The falafel was dry and just not tasty, while the kabob was the same. My aunt had a pizza, which she said was not good either. Also, there was only 1 person working the counter, while others just watched on. Not sure if they're not trained to work counter, but I waited a good 10 minutes behind a family who didn't even know what they wanted, yet were ordering. I know that is out of their control, but it was frustrating! I really wanted to like this place. I will try again - maybe this place is only good for their pasta? read more

Nice place. Good menu choices. The Caprese panini was very good . Falafel appetizer was good too. Two complaints: 1. Please make a list of your draft beers. Telling me that "It's a lighter colored beer" doesn't help me know what it is. Just write the beer names on a piece of paper at the register so they can just show it to people. 2. Maybe lower the amount of seasoning on the pita chips that come with the paninis. They were completely coated with that stuff and I was brushing it off. read more

My family and I have been here a few times since they've opened. Also, have ordered take out. First off, there isn't enough seating - it's constant battle waiting and fighting over the next table that gets up. If you haven't ordered yet and you ask someone in your group to go grab a table then one of the employees will stop you from doing that. Most of the employees there aren't very pleasant or have a lack of miscommunication. Their food is good and good size portion but the wait is way too long and terrible. Late lunch with a friend at Cafesano in Sterling VA. I know it's a chain, but I'm not sure how big it is. It's a combination of Italian and Mediterranean. They do have a gluten free menu. They also have a wood stove for pizza. It's very clean inside with booths and tables as well as high top tables. They also have a large patio for outdoor dining. You order at the counter and they will deliver to your table. I know this location serves beer/wine (not sure if all locations do). We had the Avocado Dip with homemade tortilla chips. DELICIOUS! For my meal I had the Avocado, Tomato and Mozzarella Salad. Dressing was EVOO and Lemon. Very pretty and DELICIOUS!! My friend had the Roasted Turkey BLT Panini. DELICIOUS! It was fairly quiet because it was after the lunch rush, so it was nice to sit and catch up. I would definitely go back to try some of the other things on the menu. read more

Newly open 12/16 - Dulles Location near Dulles Town Center shopping mall. Beautiful Interior - simple, natural elements, elegant. Wide, wonderful menu. Cafeteria style. A little less convenient to access. Good for couples, friends, families. Casual. They even a big booth-table sized for 10 adults. Outdoor patio with 2 elongated wall fire features about 4+ ft high. We split Hummus. I had Chicken Shwarma Pita Wrap. Hubby, a big eater, had Chicken Kabob Platter. Delicious and homemade cooking were evident in everything - simple hummus, the warm baked pita, the well-marinated and perfectly grilled chicken, even the side garlic sauce (Wow! Robust. No Vampires for miles!) and tasty tzatziki sauce full with cuke bits! The most "limited" ha-ha is that they only have 6 dessert offerings! We will happily return and try many other offerings. read more
