Ambiance is great, the seating area is roomy, seats are comfortable, windows are large (lighting is good), the bathroom is very clean and smells nice. The food is 4 out of 5. The service is great. Two minor things: our round pizza came on a smaller oval plate - not comfortable to eat and just plain weird. We had no extra plates for pizza. Hot tea. Ugh. Why so many places don't get the hot tea? They had a tiny coffee cup for a hot tea - there is just not enough hot water. I had to get a to go cup for the hot tea. Had dinner at Cafesano Dulles Town Center tonight and really enjoyed it! The place is beautiful inside, very warm and inviting with nice seating options. This Cafesano has a full bar and the drink prices are really reasonable and they pour a nice glass of wine, not stingy like some places. We had hummus and baba ghanouj for appetizers and they were both excellent! One of us had the signature salad with a skewer of grilled chicken and the other had the fettuccine alfredo and they were both delicious. We sat inside but there was a really nice patio for outdoor seating with strings of lights that made it festive. 2nd time - No lines, the people at the front counters are friendly. There is a lot to choose from but when I got here I knew exactly what I wanted. Greek Salad and Penne with meat sauce. Made my way to the dining area which is clean! Realized that as soon as people left they were cleaned off right away. The area is very bright and there are lots of windows to view outside. They have an outside patio to eat, unfortunately it is too cold for that. I received my food in 10 minutes or so. Which is not too shabby, considering I ordered pasta and salad. I was really looking forward to dining here but was disappointed. Food: The dip sampler (red pepper hummus and tzatziki) was pretty good. Then we ordered the chicken alfredo, the pasta was extremely bland and watery, it was as if they just threw some boiled pasta in a bowl of warm milk. The bread provided along with the dish was very oily and salty. Drinks: They don't have a full time bartender and you can only order wine and beer with the food....so don't understand why they have a full bar in the cafe. Amazing dishes created from scratch are the norm here. (1) The Carne Amante pizza is to die for. (2) The Greek Salad with their INCREDIBLE homemade dressing is perfect. Cafesano is a nicely sized establishment great for a quick lunch spot around the Dulles mall. The menu is really big so don't be worried about finding something you like. Overall the food was above average for what the restaurant offers and the people working were very friendly. Prices were fair; I would say expect to spend anywhere between $8-15 depending on what you get. I went with a group and we split a couple of items. The margarita pizza was a good personal size and pretty yummy! The tomato, avocado and mozzarella salad was good, but was more similar to a guac with tons on avocado and a smaller portion size than all the other salads. I think it could use some pita chips on the side to complete the meal. The falafel wrap was also surprisingly delicious. Definitely get some tatziki on the side though :) read more

Big fan of Cafesano and it's my three year olds favorite place to eat out so that's nice. Very relaxing atmosphere, delicious fresh food and a nice patio to eat outside. I usually go with the chicken Caesar wrap which is super delicious with plenty of grilled chicken. Kids can easily split a cheese ravioli which they gladly will put on two plates for you. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the outdoor covered patio is quite large and has a fireplace. The bathrooms; however, smell like the sewer has backed up. This place gets five stars for the overall experience. The restaurant has got great seating and is really very lively inside with a very relaxed vibe. The menu is very nice and it helps that it is up on the wall well before you have to get in line for the order. They have Mediterranean and Italian food for the most part and the food is very fresh and tasty. While it's not the best food you will taste, it certainly has a freshness about it that makes the experience worth it. The price for the entrees is reasonable and the ambience is really amazing including very nice outdoor seating. I also like that you order from the front like in Panera but that the interior is more like a higher scale restaurant. Cafesano is a fresh take on Italian and Mediterranean. I had previously eaten at their location in Reston and loved it. The new location surpasses the Reston location. Food is the same but the new location is really beautiful with lots of comfortable seating inside and out. A restaurant is more than what it looks like; It is all about the food. The food at Cafesano never fails to impress. I had one of their many salad offerings and it was beautifully made with very fresh ingredients. Additionally, Cafesano has a great selection that will appeal to every type of food person even the most picky. My only problem with Cafesano is that there isn't one closer to where I live.
