    Rainbow Toast

Classic café options with a modern twist! Tucked in a Carlsbad business park, Café Sunfish features a small yet diverse selection of freshly made foods for breakfast and lunch. For anyone who has visited this location under it's former management, you'll recognize a few of old favorites from the deli menu. Now, Café Sunfish provides a more diverse selection featuring items like beet humus, avocado toast, açaí, sandwiches, wraps and bowls. To top all that, they also offer homemade cookies and brownies! I came here for lunch and ordered the Rainbow Toast (beet humus, avocado and micro greens) paired with 2 fried eggs and an iced tea. The food was fresh and it made for a great lunch. I'm excited to come back to try the rest of the menu. I recommend Café Sunfish to anyone who's working in or passing through the area. The staff is awesome and the food is delicious. If you stop in, ask the owner, Katie, to tell you the story behind the name. PRO TIP: This is a great place if you have food sensitivities or dietary restrictions. They have plenty of gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options. I tried the gluten free toast and it was some of the best gf bread that I've ever tasted.

Gluten-free option available. Light and fresh menu items. If you're looking for quick sustenance, sure. Would I go back? Maybe, if I just needed food quickly and happen to be in the area. It looks like your standard cafe nestled among corporate office buildings. They have glasses for water laying out along with indoor and outdoor seating. Judging by the menu, items aren't meant to blow you out of the water, rather to offer you a selection of items made up of whole simple ingredients. Here's the thing...raw kale is a wholly unpleasant texture, but that's just my opinion. I ordered the Solstice Bowl with shrimp. It was okay, the most flavor came from the feta cheese. The beet hummus tasted a bit...rotten? My co-worker mentioned he didn't enjoy the Frenchie Sandwich. Similarly, my other co-worker didn't love his burrito. Service was nice. Also, vegetables were very fresh, so that was nice. Overall a fine experience.

Stopped in for lunch with friends. The food was great. Everything was super clean, staff was friendly and efficient. I ordered a Turkey sandwich with bacon and it was delicious! Highly recommend. My friend had a latte and said it was wonderful and also a lox bagel. Will definitely return again! Everything was so fresh - I even ordered a French dip to go for my husband. He said it was great!

The Rainbow toast is amazing, service was great too! I made an error ordering online and it wasn't an issue. 10/10. I ate every bit.

Smooth, with the right amount of spice, not overpowering. My iced mocha was also really good. Pretty big size. Not too sweet. Drinks were so good we tried some food. The havarti grilled cheese with fig butter. It's a seasonal item. I'm usually not a big fan of sweet and savory but this one was excellent. Just a hint of sweetness with mild but flavorful havarti on perfectly grilled bread. Will have to bring the kids back someday. They would love it.

Somewhat limited seating inside, no more than 30 seats probably. 3 outlets available. Wifi and bathroom available. The only downside I would note is the noise level is a bit on the higher side even with noise cancelling headphones, difficult to study or take meetings here. It's much more of a social or grab and go coffee shop. We each got to order a pot of tea, so we decided to order 5 different ones to try out more flavors together. The ones we picked were: -Jasmine orange oolong - Coconut milk green tea - Earl grey lavender - Vanilla cream -Strawberry rose champagne oolong tea My top two favorites were the jasmine orange oolong and the coconut milk green tea. The only flavor that none of us enjoyed was the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea, so when it came time for refills, we switched it to the rouge provence. For the food, there were four finger sandwiches: chicken breast, smoked salmon, cucumbers, and chopped spinach. We all liked the chicken breast one the most, and felt like the cucumbers and chopped spinach could have been combined into one sandwich for a more balanced flavor. For sweets, there was the seasonal scone, fruit tart, macaron, and donut. I loved the scone with the butter and fruit preserves, as well as the fruit tart. The service was polite, but a bit slow and we waited a while before our food arrived. There was only one person who was serving the entire afternoon tea area, so it's understandable that there's a longer wait. All in all, I would definitely come back for another afternoon tea experience!
