Great dinner in a cute locally owned restaurant, which we love to find. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

The food was pricy but the flavor was amazing! I wish it came with a small salad or bread but I'd order over and over again.

All of the pasta is amazing. Pomegranate whiskey sour is the move. The staff is so friendly and their patio is awesome.

Delicious food and great atmosphere, felt like being in Italy with attentive service.

Fabulous homemade pastas, wonderful service and priced appropriately! We love Cafe Stella!

If you're in Flagstaff you have to try Cafe Stella! Fresh pasta, amazing specials and drinks. Our servers Douglas and Nic were impeccable and so fast to help. great back patio and the tiramisu is the best I've ever had! read more

Food great! Busy but quick service. Very friendly and attentive. We don't live in the area but recommend it!

Pasta was good and service was excellent ! Also good salad and fair prices! We will definitely go back to try another pasta dish !!

Very good steak Alfredo and salmon, highly recommend for you! Was given a generous amount and very satisfied

Cafe Stella is a unique bright spot in Flagstaff. I made a reservation for the morning of Mother's Day at 10am. However, a walk in for two came right at the same and got right in so coming right as they open would have worked too. We ordered the bruschetta toast and French toast with eggs and bacon. Both were great, the French toast was perfection and the sour dough used for the bruschetta toast (with scrambled eggs) was delicious! Both meals are a good serving, the bruschetta could even be split as I wasn't able to finish it all. We sat in their patio area out back which was really nice! I'd like to try their waffles sometime too and would definitely order the French toast again. read more

Took the family here after my son's graduation from NAU.....outstanding!! Aspen was our waitress and she did a great job. I had the Lemon Picatta with chicken and it was the best I have ever had. The pasta was incredible. Everyone was so happy with their meal. You have the choice to sit inside or outside. We sat inside but the space outside was very nice. I can't wait to get back to Flagstaff so we can eat here again. read more

The pasta was fresh and had lots of flavor. The service was quick and friendly. The back patio was so cute. We will be back!

We love Cafe Stella! The service and the food are both excellent. The quality of the food is crazy great- the homemade pasta is unbelievable. My favorite meal is the chicken margarita pasta! Derek gives us a fabulous experience each time we visit! We also love the chill vibe to the restaurant! 5 stars! read more

Nice new Italian restaurant with homemade pasta that was delicious! The sauces were creamy and very flavorful. Our waitress was extremely attentive. They are a new restaurant and we are looking forward to going back and seeing more ambiance and a nicer patio area in the future! read more

Want to ruin a dinner? Easy. Bring out the hot entree pasta while the customer is one-third through their salad appetizer, and then put the pasta under the heat lamp when the customer says they're not ready to receive the entree. Food was decent overall but to know your food is cooked, and cooking more, creates no joy as you try to relax over dinner out (at a steep price for the pasta). This is just bad service. read more

The ambiance of the place was nice. The vibes were warm and cozy. I was visiting the area and was enticed by the fresh made pasta so I decided to give this place a try. The service was excellent. I don't remember the name of the server but he was great and attentive without being over bearing. The food was ok. As I mentioned above I was enticed by the fresh made pasta but it was in my option lacking. It was a bit too thick and the sauce was ok. My sister ordered the lemon ricotta pasta. So I decided to mix the sauce from my pasta with the lemon ricotta she got and that was good. But each sauce was just ok by themselves. read more

Delicious pasta and super nice and friendly owners . We met Derek who was so pleasant and made us feel like regulars. The pasta was delicious and tasted homemade! You can't miss that flavor. Their tomato sauce is very good as was the meatball (coming from a CT Italian) We sat outside on the patio which had plenty of tables and had a nice ambiance. We will be back for sure! Definitely a must when in Flagstaff read more

Stopped in for lunch (they just started it last week!) and was blown away. The sandwiches were incredible: fresh, great flavor, and perfectly spicy. I got the Buffalo Chicken Philly, and my husband got the Meatball Sub, which is literally spaghetti & meatballs on a garlic toasted sub roll. I know Flag has a lot of decent sandwich joints (Proper, Crystal Creek, Aspen Deli, etc), but a) Cafe Stella is now at the top of my lunch list and b) Flag NEEDS traditional yet approachable Italian pasta, so I'm excited to go back and try dinner. Also bought some of their homemade pasta to use with homemade bolognese this weekend...so will report back on how that goes :) read more

Cafe Stella - Meatball Sub! Spaghetti & Meatballs on a toasted roll! - Italian Near Me - Flagstaff, Arizona

Excellent food. Friendly servers. Family owned. Pasta is made in house. A nicely relaxed ambiance.

Story time. Now I really do dislike writing negative reviews but the entire experience this past weekend there was one I really just could not go without sharing. I understand that it was Valentine's Day/presidents day weekend and that restaurants get crazy sometimes. having worked in the industry myself, I'm not ignorant to how things can function. What I am aware of and I pray more industry folks are too is knowing when to take accountability and be honest, and not waste peoples time. I've heard really great things about this restaurants food so naturally while visiting Flagstaff me and my friend decide to check it out. A small family in front of us had just asked the host if there was tables available to which we overheard that it was looking to be a two hour wait minimum. For us would've been fine. The family is making their way out the door at this point. We approach the counter, the gentleman tell us the same thing and to my right I do see open spots at the bar to which I ask the young server if you can sit there? to a chance is yes you can then out of the blue is very rude. Lady jumps into our conversation and quite literally snatches it away and very disgustingly "sorry guys" to me and my friend. Now it was evident that this young server was overwhelmed because they had a full reservation list that night to which I can empathize. Not wanting to start any altercations I let it go. I asked the server to put us on the waitlist. I also noticed that the couple that was sitting at the bar was almost done too. To which I said "it's OK. We can wait 30 minutes. " The gentleman is aware that we're waiting patiently for the next available seats at the bar at this point. Once that couple was ready to leave as we saw ( 30 minutes later) I kindly asked the host if it is still OK for us to take those seats once they leave. To which he responded "actually I can't sit you there because we might need them for the reservations". My jaw drops. I would gladly had walked away sooner and never had wasted time waiting had he been able to communicate that minutes before. No we never got seated. So maybe next time. But to my point, a learning moment for management and staff. This just felt like something avoidable. We know shifts can be tough but we also don't like being cheated out in situations like these where you as staff have control not the customers. I know not everyone is gentle or kind or graceful. I don't know what overcame that lady and her family to just insert themselves where they didn't belong but it really makes a big impression as an establishment when the staff keeps order and civility. I hope to return one day (with a reservation) and try the food because it really looked great. read more

This is just what Flagstaff needs, a real Italian restaurant with fresh delicious pasta and amazing tiramisu! The wine list was great, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and there is a roomy patio. We have eaten at Fat Olives, Teatro, Atria.... This place is beyond legit and has pasta to blow them away, we hope it is our new staple. We have lived in Flag for years, this is the pasta we need! Highly recommend! read more

Great Italian restaurant in downtown Flagstaff. Doug and Riley were a wonderful servers. We had a very pleasant dinner on the patio out back on a wonderful summer night. I'd highly recommend the lemon ricotta although everything else looked excellent as well. read more

The pasta was great. I'd travel far and wide for homemade pasta, but my question is: if the whole menu is pasta and salad and you go the extra mile to make homemade pasta, how can you serve bottled dressing and not figure out a homemade Caesar and Italian dressing? Really?!!!! read more

Not only was the food phenomenal, our server Derek made the experience so much fun. The espresso martini and the cucumber gimlet were amazing. Make sure you go and ask for Derek!! read more

Awesome homemade pasta, and a beautiful romantic outdoor patio! We had two pasta dishes, one with lemon ricotta which was out of this world. The other dish, marinara with meatballs, was quite good too. Pasta was a tiny bit overcooked -- prefer it al dente. A nice caesar salad and a glass of wine, perfect for a summer date night spot. Only other criticism - the indoor decor and ambience is lacking. Tom Petty was playing (I love Tom Petty, but definitely not for a romantic Italian restaurant) and soda machines were right there in front of the tables. Patio was much better. read more

For a first timer, the food was amazing and filling. The service was excellent, everyone is so polite and welcoming. The environment is decently clean for welcoming pets, the music is well fitting. read more

I made a reservation for the next day, then had to cancel early the next morning due to a personal emergency. They charged me a cancellation fee of $40. The reservation was made literally less than 12 hours before. Scam !! read more

Cafe Stella is delicious! The service was great, Aspen was so kind and knowledgeable. Will definitely come again!

What an awful restaurant experience. The restaurant was busy but the service was some of the worst I've had in a long time. No one checked in on us, we were brought appetizers with no plates - the manager who delivered the appetizers promised plates and forget about us and other tables, we had to ask multiple times for the drink my son ordered, and one of our dishes came out completely cold. We would have sent it back right away but could find no server to even flag down to come and take it away. The worst part though was that when I asked to speak with the manager to raise my concerns, I was treated in a hostile manner with nothing but excuses from the manager. It was obvious he did not care to hear our issues and left us by saying "maybe we'll see you again, maybe not". He was completely dismissive of our concerns. I hope the ownership does not condone this kind of treatment of their customers - I understand things can get busy and slow down a bit but we still expect a good restaurant experience. We definitely did not get that from Cafe Stella. read more

Incredible cheesecake freshly made. Yummmmy. Was so happy to find Stella's today. Great service, great location, and great prices :)

This was our first time in Flagstaff and came across Cafe Stella. The staff were extremely friendly and very quick. Shaded Outside patio seating is available. I had the flagstaff waffle and it was a little dry, I recommend they should put aioli sauce on top to add some moisture to the dish. My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy waffle and it was delicious. I'm giving 5 stars for the service alone :) read more

Food was good but, to no fault of the server, staff could not describe or give any information about the food. We asked basic questions about the types of pastas and sauces and she couldn't give us any information. She said they don't get employee meals and hadn't had much of the food. That's a real failure on the owner. read more

We had to cancel our reservation because our daughter (who the dinner was for) became sick. I called the restaurant 7 hours in advance to do this and spoke to someone who said no problem and cancelled it, but failed to tell me that I would be charged an $80 cancellation fee. I realize we were outside the 12 hour window, but this seemed an apt time to give a little grace. They will have no trouble filling that table tonight and for a "family run establishment" not honoring a family emergency with that much notice seems unkind. Won't be inclined to rebook here. read more

Food is so good and so is the service as long as they aren't too busy! I've gone back twice now and it's been awesome

this restaurant was probably the best Italian we've ever had. The salads, mixed drinks, entrees and desserts were simply amazing. Definitely recommend read more

Cozy and Delicious Enjoyed a delightful dinner at Cafe Stella last night. This is an authentic Italian American restaurant not found anywhere else in Flagstaff. The fresh pasta should not be missed! Our waiter was very helpful and nice and made us feel welcome. The portions are large, but pace yourself and leave room for tiramisu! read more

Love the food and I always recommend this spot to friends visiting town! Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the cancellation fee... I made a reservation for four morning of and had to cancel hours before the reservation time. It is stated that if there is a cancellation without 24 hour notice you will be charged, but that should not be applied for day of reservations! read more

I cancelled a 630 pm reservation at 10 am as soon as the restaurant opened due to a member of the party having a positive Covid test and was charged $80 for cancelling less than 12 hours before the reservation...... unbelievable .... I was excited to try this place never again! read more
