I did a takeout order for lunch, so I cannot really comment on fine-in service, but I do have to admit their sandwiches are very well-made. I think I had a kimchi bulgogi sandwich, which was too spicy for me but honestly it was too good to not eat. Cute little cafe! It's cozy enough where you can sit and eat your food but not a park yourself and work there all day kinda place. Good for grab and go, or quick meet ups with friends. Their menu has lots of sandwich/salad/smoothie options. Vegetarian/vegan options too! Prices are pretty standard ~$8 for sandwiches. I got the tofu Bahn mi which was a good. Lots of filling (you can see from my picture). The sauce was flavorful and dripped a little but the bread was big enough to withstand and didn't get soggy. While out running errands, I decided to order a late afternoon lunch and coffee and decided to try a new place since I just moved to the area. I ordered ahead using their website and the food was ready ahead of time. It was sitting on a cart by the pick up area and all I had to do was grab it. The place itself looked cute, there were a few areas to sit but not too much seating and the music was a bit loud for working. I got a small caramel latte and a hot italian panini. The latte was good with just the right amount of sweetness. It was more "cold" and not "iced" since I don't think there was ice in the cup, but since it was a small I finished it on the wall home anyways. The panini was AMAZING. Great italian flavors with the house made pesto and red peppers. I'm not always a big fan of red peppers, but everything on this sandwich went together really well. Overall, a good first experience and I look forward to trying more of their extensive menu. read more

PROS: The combination of flavorful smoky bacon, gooey melted cheese, and fluffy well-seasoned egg almost made me audibly sigh with love at first bite. CONS: The massive amount of raw spinach really detracted from the experience, and their online ordering portal description lists a hash brown inside, but there wasn't one. All orders are made to order and you can definitely tell that it's made out of love and care. I appreciate the one man that was behind the counter taking our orders and making them, and also carrying it out to us at our seats! The cafe itself is a very quaint, rustic country style feel. I got a cubano which I cannot stop thinking about (seriously, what is in that pulled pork!?) and a HK style milk tea. While the combo sounds a little weird, try it! The HK milk tea had a perfect tea flavor that isn't diluted, and the right touch of condensed milk to make it the perfect color and addictive creamy consistency. My friend got a Vietnamese iced coffee with the SQ melt that they enjoyed as well, occasionally commenting on how strong the iced coffee was (in a good way). At the table there is also condiments, and although they never needed them, we dipped our sandwiches in Valentina and had a nice chat during a rainy day. read more

We came here following recommendations on Google and were sadly disappointed by the rudeness and lack lustre quality of food for the prices Vs local eatery. The bagels had very little options of toppings. My husbands egg and sausage sandwich was tasteless. We are visiting family in town and came here with our kids. You self serve yourself, order and pay, and when we asked could we get a glass of tap water for our 5 year old we were told no, you must pay for bottle of water which is not even great branded water, Deer Park. It's high time I updated my review of Cafe Square One! They've been open since late 2014, I'd say. They went through a couple phases for restaurant layout and menu items, but it seems they've landed on the perfect combination. I love their wraps, paninis, and smoothies. My favs are the Chicken Pesto Panini, Turkey Hummus Wrap, and Oriental Chicken Wrap. They serve breakfast and lunch and are one of the few Old City restaurants actually open on Mondays. Service is super friendly. Take out orders take between 10-20 minutes during lunch, so it's best to order ahead. The seating is cute but kinda tight when the line forms. I went for the "incredible lox", a bagel with lox, cream cheese, avocado, tomato and fried egg for $9.75. The prices are low, this is basically the most expensive item on the menu! Unfortunately, they were out of bagels, but suggested the multigrain bread to go with it, which was a solid choice. I also got a maple latte with almond milk. The maple flavor is a little subtle, but still enjoyable. My favorite is the sandwich, which is loaded with lox and the other ingredients. All fresh and delicious. There's various seating areas from high tables along the windows to a comfortable padded bench and low tables with chairs.
