Compared to TBD, this spot boasts a larger space with a flowery, cozy aesthetic. The menu is composed of Vietnamese-American fusion dishes with a rotating specials list. I visited on Sunday morning in a party of four and was greeted immediately. There's indoor tables and select outdoor seating, so that was good to see given there's a step required to enter indoors for those accessibility-minded. The staff was friendly and checked in on us frequently, but I will note that it takes a bit of time before food is served. They had a large influx of take-out orders in addition to those dining in, so I'd budget a bit more time if visiting on a busier weekend time. The food itself was delicious! My 2+2+2 was traditional breakfast fare, but it was simple items done very well. On the other hand, my partner got their special pork belly vermicelli and it was a great mix of flavors in the tender pork and herb garnishes. The Popcorn Chicken was shared among our table and were delicious small bites that rounded out our meal. I highly recommend the spicy mayo as well, but be mindful of some dishes that include more jalapeño. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend for anyone in South Philly! Be mindful that the cooking time may be a bit, but the service still tends to you comfortably during the entire meal.

This is an extremely cute cafe in a walkable neighborhood only a few blocks from a Keith Harrington mural. The service was friendly and fast. On a non busy morning, you can sit yourself. I ordered the chicken congee. He had the challah French toast with sweetened condensed milk. If you're not someone who typically likes a sweet breakfast, this is an outstanding one even with those who don't have a real sweet tooth. The congee is thick and flavorful. But it was NOT hot--only warmed up. It comes with a side of crispy chicken skins and "fresh" herbs to dress up the congee. The chicken skins were also cold, think, fried chicharrones where residual cold oil is still in a thick layer of crispy skin so when you bite in, a pool of oil seeps out. The herbs were flat out old and not fresh, where almost everything was wilted. To me, this was the weakest place we ate at while we were in Philly. And it pains me to say that it stands out because it was just mid. I could tell that had my dish been given the attention it deserved, it would have been an incredible meal.

Lots of locals, plus a line out the door waiting for a table. It's a very old building, and the room is an ecclectic mix of kitsch and vintage books, artwork and local flair. It's unpretentious and bohemian diner-chic. Much to love! Service is super friendly, caring and efficient. We were treated to detailed descriptions of the choices on the menu. Mouths watering as we placed the order. Coffee is locally ground and freshly brewed in honest-to-goodness old fashioned diner style cups. It's not a huge menu, but the choices are broad and there's something for just about everyone. Tried French Toast and a Waffle. WOW! The french toast is wonderfully crisp on the outside, moist and chewy on the inside. It's adorned with sliced fresh banana, stawberres and blueberries, granola and a dash of powdered sugar. With a little maple syrup - this one is to die for. Really delicious. The waffle is even better. It's a freshly made buttermilk waffle, adorned with sliced fruit and granola and then drizzled with creme fraiche. Artfully plated with dollops of cream, this was almost too pretty to eat. I say ALMOST because it was devoured. No reservations here, so get there early or expect to wait a bit. It's worth the wait!

They are absolutely delicious! I even went ahead and purchased cornmeal, flour and blueberries in an attempt to make it at home and that didn't go as planned lol, I need to bite the bullet quickly and get those pancakes ASAP. The drip coffee was standard, nothing too special, but good enough that I go two cups (didn't finish the second cup). Kale salad was sour, it was a little too many picked veggies where the vinegar was kinda overpowering, but nonetheless I would order it again. The scrambled eggs with cheese was amazing, I absolutely hate American cheese and I think they use Gouda- the eggs were very very good, and that's coming from someone that doesn't really like eggs, but always needs to order it at a breakfast spot. I went on a Monday morning and was so glad I was able to get a table and this restaurant doesn't not take reservations and I found a close parking as well! I actually went here for my birthday breakfast! I'm not someone that really enjoys breakfast foods but I was so happy to start my birthday morning with this diner. Diner on my birthday? Sounds kinda wild but I was satisfied! I want to go back SOON for the pancakes! They were soo amazing! Note- as someone who has had plenty good chicken and waffles, these were okay, and my partner didn't like it at all- didn't even eat the chicken. But, due to my meal being delicious, these fact I wanna go back and the need I have to try the turkey sausage gravy and biscuits AND the scallion waffles, this place gets a 4/5 from me. I would recommend anyone to at least try this spot out for a lowkey morning breakfast

I had asked about ingredients on some of the menu items, and the server was good about checking on that and getting back to me. I decided on the Cedar Park Special Wrap, which checked the boxes of ingredients I was trying to avoid, and another server came by to inform me that there's been a change to the ingredients - it says that it includes turkey, but they don't stock cold cuts anymore, so they offered chicken instead. I was totally fine with the substitution, but thought it was a bit funny that they hadn't updated the menu to account for that. All that said, everything tasted great - the chicken wrap and the fries, and service was pretty quick. AC was struggling, but other than that, it was a good experience, and I'd be down to go back!

The four of us found the Dutch on Yelp, and headed there from our hotel in Philly. It reminded my wife and I of some of the neighborhood spots. We enjoyed so much in our own town of Baltimore. The waitress, JENN, was fantastic. I think she had every table, but every employee were doing their part. The chef must handpick the ingredients, because everything was fresh and delicious. My wife and I each had a special pressed fruit drink to start, and it was a perfect appetizer if you will. Very refreshing and energizing. The food was amazing. I had the mushroom omelette. The mushrooms were very fresh and not overcooked. The omelette was thick, but not foamy. All of the ingredients were handled with care on the inside. The taste of truffles was a nice addition. My wife had the salmon omelette, and it was out of this world. Possibly the best omelette I've ever tasted. She agreed. Delicate, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. One of our boys had a huge waffle covered in fresh berries, and just the right amount of whipped cream. He said it was the best waffle he ever had, and I have to agree. Light and fluffy and sweet, he didn't even add syrup. Perfect. Our other son had the double cheeseburger. Again, cooked perfectly, and the avocado was very fresh and an excellent addition. When we are in Philly again, this will be our breakfast spot. An absolute pleasure dining here. I highly recommend.

Neither of us really go for sweet breakfast, so despite this place having a plethora of delicious Dutch babies, neither of us went with their signature offering. However, I did manage to find yet another amazing item on the menu that was indeed unique to here and had to have it. A wonderful dish that I still can't properly pronounce... the Uitsmijter. I go nuts for pickles and rye in particular, and I have to say this had some of the tastiest and most unique of both as part of it. The pickles were just amazing. Unlike any I've had before, and I am a pickle maniac coming from a kosher deli family. The rye was also top notch, having such character and density that really made it stand out against everything else on the plate, but especially other rye breads that simply don't come close to what was going on here. The perfectly cooked side of scrapple we opted for was also a major highlight. While I did think the prices were just a bit too steep, a minor problem at best for a great meal, the staff was very nice and took their time to explain to me the things on the menu I didn't understand. They also invited us in on a very cold day and made us feel like home. If I am every around the same area and craving some great cold weather breakfast, I will definitely be back to try the ring bologna Benedict because there is nothing quite like Amish bologna, and each town's is a bit different. Quite the experience!

Most places get it wrong in one way - the flavor of the syrup, getting cold fast, being too soft, etc. But they got it PERFECT here. Everything was right.
