Felt compelled to write a review after I had two great meals here, but also when I heard the building is being sold from local friends and I'll be sad to not be able to eat here again. Came here on a Saturday for breakfast and Sunday for brunch and no problem getting a seat, the old school diner vibe felt just like the warm cups of coffee they poured, and the food was very, very good. My breakfast was two eggs scrambled with srapple, hash browns and english muffin. Scrapple was fried up perfect, the cook on the browns were stellar, and I liked the whipped butter for my english muffin. Our server was super nice, and my friend who lives around the corner loved his breakfast sandwich. Came back the next day with a slight hangover, and again, it was such a good move. Our server this time was also super speedy and nice, the chicken salad triple decker sandwich was SO good. Lots of chicken, lots of bacon, and the fries were tasty! My friend got the special french toast with lemon, blueberry and the cookie butter and he was in heaven. Im hoping next time I visit, I can come back and order some more delicious food with a hot cup of coffee.

A basic diner gets a basic review. It wasn't bad. I went for the turkey platter. I thought the turkey was really good. Not as much on the stuffing though. It was just ok but a little mushy and sweet for my taste. It was kind of weird that they put turkey gravy on the meat but brown gravy on the potatoes. It didn't work for me. I liked the soup though. And I like the fact that they have Melrose Diner desserts if I need my fix. And I like the atmosphere. The staff was nice. Even if the food was hit or miss.

I'm a sucker for a great long-time diner. Not sure what the other ratings are about, but I enjoyed this place. Great Reuben. It's a diner, not a Michelin star restaurant.

    Country Omelette

Very average diner quality breakfast. I two poached eggs from the Breakfast All Day Menu and the husband went with the Country Omelette. Both entrees was just okay. The hash-browns were cold and my husbands were practically burnt (see photo). We were hoping to be in and out fairly quickly, but our food took a while, even though it was 9 AM on a Sunday morning and not crowded.

Cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms

"This is the best cheesesteak I've had yet in Philly," my friend said, and we've been to all the cheesesteak places around town. "Tony Luke's was good, but this is better," he said. I was certainly amazed by the cheesesteak as well. Nice, chewy rolls filled with tender steak and fried onions. My friend said that the only room for improvement was more cheese. I felt there was enough. For top Philly cheesesteak, it definitely falls in the same top 5 as Woodrow's, Tony Luke's (on a good day), Sonny's, and Dalessandro's. The fries with their slightly crispy outside were great. The chicken parm sandwich was not as good. The chicken was a little chewy and stringy and bland. Lots of parking in front of the diner and around the block. Good service, too. Definitely stop in to try the cheesesteak.

Actually the food was very good and Fresh, We really enjoyed it We couldn't eat all of our meals so we took home a take-out container for it later. That was my first time there. I like it when it's not crowded We will be back

Classic diner food! This is just a no fuss good breakfast. You don't have to wait for a table on a Sunday. The food is delicious and comes out fast. The servers are quick and efficient. In a city full of overpriced brunch, this is a truly a gem where you can just go get a quick, delicious, reasonably priced breakfast.

Always with my husbae and friends so it's usually between a Party of Three up to a party of 10 but the service and food each time is on point no matter the party size. Our last visit after the Eagles and Bears game on Black Friday the restaurant was super busy after the game but we were able to get a table within minutes. The Seafood Tower ... the salmon... the scallops... the cocktails I had a margarita... all superb! This restaurant will always get my vote for my go-to restaurant after the game. I highly recommend you check it out. There's bar top seating and lounge seating. Located inside the casino highly highly recommend! Have fun and enjoy life:)

They serve you fresh waster (Drinks to order include Hanks, Boylan's, Harney and Sons, Teas etc.) and will serve you at the table or you can walk up and order at the counter. Their menu has a great mix of deli, steak, "chicken" steak, meatball, sausage and cutlet sandwiches with interesting flavor combos. You can also get breakfast (till 11AM) or a salad. They also have sides that include - tots, fried pickle chips, onion rings, fries, fried mozzarella and Zayda's pickle spears, chips and cherry pepper shooters. They have a couple of vegan options and GF rolls for extra $$. The staff was more than happy to give recommendations and their favs. My first lunch was The Eye - $15 Ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp American, fried onions came on a seeded Liscio's roll. If you enjoy the somewhat newer Cooper sharp style that's out there you'll like theirs. The Cooper sharp was gooey, mixed in well with the meat and on the heavier side. The ribeye was thin cut, delicious and the portion was pretty hefty. Second visit I went with - The Nad - $15 Chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Mike's Hot Honey that came on an unseeded Liscio's roll. The portion size was good, chicken was fresh with good breading, the hot honey was a tad on the heavy side, but the flavors all came together pretty good on this one. Sweet, salty, light bitterness from the arugula and some heat from the hot honey. I added Thin Cut Idaho fries to make it a combo for $3 extra and I have to say they were delicious. They smelled like McD's and tasted similar. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. You can use a card if you order online. The one bathroom they have was pretty clean and organized. I will certainly stop back for a visit if I'm in the area to try out more of their menu. Thanks guys!

The Manhattan clam chowder was thin with NO clams (if you ladle soup properly it should have broth, clams & vegetables). This James Beard award winning version was just a thin broth. Caesar salad has become ubiquitous. This version was a dressing that was a broken emulsion that was too heavy on lemon and anchovy. The croutons rock hard.Salmon was a miniscule portion accompanied by a tablespoon of leeks. The crostone with the linguine was stale and rock hard. Hard enough to pave your driveway. The desserts were sloppy in the presentation. Mediocre "American" fare at high prices. No regular menu just a poorly executed pre fixe. Service was slow. Literally. We asked for bread and they brought napkins. Not being a linen-tarian I did not eat them. Nice ambiance that must of cost a fortune with great attention to detail. Too bad I don't eat decor..or napkins.. even worse is the fact that little attention to detail was given to food or service. It's such a shame. Stephan Starr has a James Beard Award.
