Took my daughter to Philly for the weekend and stumbled into High Street on Market for brunch without a reservation -- walked right in, no drama. Already off to a good start. The atmosphere is warm and unpretentious, service was genuinely great (attentive without being hovery), and then the food showed up and honestly just shut us both up for a few minutes. I had the cipollini onion bialy with dill-cured salmon, fromage blanc, and all the fixins -- and I mean ALL the fixins. Soft-boiled egg, capers, pickled everything, microgreens, tomatoes. It looked like a still life painting and tasted even better. The bialy itself was perfectly chewy, the salmon silky, and the fromage blanc was a smarter, lighter move than the usual cream cheese. Plate was basically clean. My 12-year-old went for the cast iron Dutch baby with roasted apples, malted caramel, and maple syrup. It arrived puffed up and golden, and she demolished it. No notes. This place earns every bit of its reputation. If you're in Philly and skipping it, you're making a mistake.

They waited to seat us about 5-10 minutes after our reservation time. The interior is also dark and intimate. The food was really good but I think I've had better pizza elsewhere. It did smell and taste really fresh though. The salad was delicious with the croutons. Need to come back for brunch!

High Street deserves a lot of recognition! It's a cozy place in the historic Franklin Building. I'd describe it as chic and I really enjoyed the art in the restaurant. Service was top notch. Not intrusive, but attentive and helpful. We ended up here for a last minute lunch and I'm so glad they were able to accommodate us. From drinks to the food, we loved everything. We started with bread and butter (I'm a big fan of warm bread and soft butter and this lived up to my expectations), an amazing salad (I wanted to recreate it at home), and the soup of the day. Followed by the popular crispy chicken caesar hoagie and delicata squash pizza. Yes, carbs heavy and I loved every moment of the meal!

Came by NYE. They were extremely slow to take my order and I had plans at a certain time so I asked to order and make it TOGO. They ended up giving my pizza item complimentary! I ended up tipping much more to cover it a little bit but very gracious and unexpected gesture. More uncommon to see these days and very appreciated! Food was also delicious. What a great place to enjoy lunch in Center City Philly! A cozy spot that buzzing with patrons having a delicious meal. Made reservations through OpenTable. I met up with a friend there, and our server was so very friendly and engaging in conversation. I had ordered the Crispy Chicken Caesar Hoagie. The combination of the kale and Parmesan with the crunch of the chicken was such an incredible flavor, I wish I ordered another to go! Overall, a great spot to dine in! Can't wait to return here!

We had a gift card for this restaurant so stopped in for dinner this past Saturday night. Our server was fine. Restaurant was pleasant with a mix of high top tables and standard tables with a small-ish bar too. We had a few drinks, bread & butter ($6 should be complimentary), pizza, the hangar steak & dessert. The steak, while good, was small portion. Maybe we'll stop back to try their brunch but this wasn't our fave meal in Philly.

My friends and I decided to come here for dinner because High Street was recently added to the Michelin Guide's Recommendations list. I had previously come here for brunch for my sister's birthday and was interested in trying their dinner items. Food Ordered: * worth trying - [Charred Savoy Cabbage, Chanterelle Beurre Blanc*]: I liked the smoky flavor of the cabbage and thought that the beurre blanc paired well with it. - [Gently Poached Shrimp, Castelvetrano Salsa Verde, Toasted Pistachios]: I don't personally like olives and didn't realize that castelvetrano is a type of olive so I'm a bit biased in not recommending this dish. But, I also wasn't a big fan of the taste of the pistachios used or the combination of textures. - [Spaccatelli, Trumpet Mushrooms, Buckwheat, Leeks, Egg Yolk*]: Conversely, I liked the textures and flavors of this dish, with the buckwheat bringing a nice crunchy element. - [Pizza with Delicata Squash, Burrata, Honey, Calabrian Chili, Oregano]: The crust was fantastic and the perfect amount of crispy. I liked the flavors except for the fresh oregano leaves, which I didn't prefer the taste of, but thought that the pizza was a bit too sweet as I ate more of it. There was also too much moisture from the toppings causing the bottom crust to become progressively soggy. I would recommend their pizza because of the A1 crust but I would probably choose a different set of toppings next time. I do think this set of toppings was worth trying though. Would I go back?: Definitely for their pizza and baked goods! When I had their brunch, those were the two things I liked the most and the pizza from dinner was the best item from that meal. I think they do bread-like items well but I would more accurately rate High Street a 3.5 because I didn't think their other items left a strong inpression on me.

Portions have potentially gone down, but service is attentive as always. Good casual - business casual place to have a meal but may be a bit overpriced now. I thought the bakery closed but turns out they just changed locations!

Stopped in for lunch and it's a fairly cozy layout inside decorated nicely. Welcomed in and sat quickly, though the bar or low top tables are best. I disliked the half height stool tables as others mentioned. As to the food, the bread is phenomenal. Crusty with a soft inside, sourdough style. Slightly warm so the butter melts. Had the niçoise tuna salad which was quite sizable and all very fresh ingredients. Dressing was a perfect amount to toss the salad in and didn't weigh it down much or make it soggy. Very filling and a good price. Definitely want to come in for happy hour and dinner to try that menu. Thanks

What a wonderful little treat of a place nestled next to its sister coffee shop. It's a nice spot to enjoy a hearty Italian inspired meal. They work with seasonal ingredients, and make their own bread with smelt flour. We enjoyed the warm olives, stracciatella salad, and their allium pizza - plus their peach cobbler for dessert! The ingredients were fresh and I like the twist in flavor profiles of dishes familiar but the added edits were a great experience! Our service was decent, a little absent minded at times but overall got the job done. In the end, they were kind enough to provide us with a loaf of their bread to take home - so nice!! Enjoy your time - it's a great meal!

The food here is so good! Really high quality ingredients, and the flavor combinations are amazing! Highly recommend the salmon and onion bialy and the chicken Caesar sandwich! The service is really great, and the staff is always helpful with menu recommendations. Definitely save room for dessert as well!

The best brunch I've had in a long time, High Street is delivering even better than what I remember from when they were High Street on Market. The restaurant is cute, welcoming, and feels like a bakery + restaurant that you just never want to leave. The service is kind, caring, prompt, and doesn't feel like its trying too hard. Then the food, well that's the best part! Hands down the best Dutch Baby I've had ever. I love Dutch Babies, but i've never had anything this good - the cook was perfect, fluffy, eggy, yummy. The butter was out of this world and the fruits were so fresh. The Labne Zaatar danish also spectacular. I love all the flavors here and the lack of sweetness. It's really great - like go get one now and munch on it! The coffee and juices were both good, I didn't drink alcohol this time, but everything non-alcoholic was great. I had a new addition to the menu which was the soft shell crab sandwich. I love soft shell crabs, so I must say, this was such a treat. The lettuce with the green goddess dressing, the sauce on the juicy jumbo soft shell crab, the perfect bun, the great tomato...like wow - I don't know what they're doing back there, but you would be hard pressed to find a better soft shell crab sandwich anywhere in the world! We'll be back, you should go too!

Stopped by High Street for happy hour and was not disappointed! We didn't have a reservation but it was a Tuesday so it wasn't packed at all. The ambiance was so cute with plants and open windows. Now the good stuff: the hosts were soo attentive and knowledgeable with the menu and even suggestions. Loved it. The drinks were tasty (def giving elevated) and nicely priced for happy hour. The food...didn't wow me as much. The options weren't giving 5 stars for me. Got my bread and it was cold and overall just meh. Will maybe come back for drinks probably would try their menu to see their entrees.

I then had the wedge salad (blue cheese, nueske's bacon, cherry tomatoes, radish, pepitas, crispy onions, and thai basil goddess). There were no tomatoes on ours, and so we were given sliced avocado instead. This was an interesting attempt but not my favorite take on this dish, I probably would not get this again. However, the shrimp po boy buns came through to round off this meal! (crispy shrimp, smoky aioli, house made choppy chop, dill on two buttered potato rolls.) These were fantastic and absolutely fire. NOTE they are tiny, almost appetizer sized, which didnt bother me because after the salad and cheese curds I was feeling full already but I would go back and get two orders just for myself they were that good. When I was there in the early morning, the cook (who also takes orders) didn't recognize the deal and didn't know how to punch it in. So, it was a bit of a letdown we couldn't redeem the deal, but we still wanted to try the sandwiches after hearing great things about them. I ordered The Hatch and Coop Sandwich (egg, cheese, chicken) on a round roll at the kiosk. You can customize your bread, egg (fried or scrambled), and cheese (provolone, american, or cheddar). The sandwiches come without any sauce unless you order sauce (extra $$) on the side. I highly recommend the Hatch Sauce- a typical mayo sauce with a little spice. I found The Hatch and Coop Sandwich to be just pretty good but I wish it had more heft to it. The chicken was juicy and well cooked, but I wish there was more. The cheese did the cheesing and coated the chicken, but the sandwich had far too many onions for my liking. With the Hatch Sauce, I felt the sandwich was tied together but it was a little odd to me the sandwich doesn't have sauce on its own. I'm giving Hatch and Coop the benefit of the doubt since it was so early in the morning, but I found my sandwich to be just OK. However, I will be back to try the fried chicken sandwiches, which I've heard rave reviews for.
