The service was great. We were able to walk right in and be seated. I wasn't sure what I wanted I had never been here before. I was about to get on the road so I really didn't want anything too heavy, but filling. This burger was PERFECT! I was thinking oh I'll share my fries, but once I realized they were handcut. Whew ... so good!!!! I wasn't thinking to ask for my egg fried, but I ate all of my fries and took half of my burger home. It was very filling. If you like condiments like me they have honey mustard and that was pretty good as well. I would check them out again when I'm in the city.

This place was great! Perfect for groups of all ages with a diverse menu and good service. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything you order! Also the drinks were pretty good pours. Oh also- the fries were addicting! I recommend to anyone in the area! Some other recommendations are the calamari, jambalaya, buffalo chicken sandwich, and ham and cheese. There truly is something for everybody.

We had a 6:30 reservation on a Friday and were seated right away. Our server, Alex recommended I try the chicken parmesan with the blush sauce. My husband had the pancakes and my son had the salmon. We all really enjoyed our food. Our server was friendly and attentive and he was the one who made our espresso martinis which were delicious.

Classic spot in downtown area that has typical American fare. More of a lunch time cafe/bar & grill feel. Always good seating indoor or out. Food tastes good. Service is friendly but not super knowledgeable. I came here with co-workers for happy hour which was posted and three of 4 servers didn't even know they had happy hour options. Also, there were a few spider websites on the ceiling. If that's in the customer area it makes me a little leary for what's in the kitchen area. That being said, this establishment has weathered the storm of years of other similar locations in the area closing thus it's a solid option. There are just some other better options in the area.

My Brisket Press sandwich was great, service was quick and lively, milkshake was solid, and vibe was good. Bathroom was in a real weird spot, but not a huge complaint. Can recommend!

    Omelette and Salad

The ratings make sense. I will preface my review by saying this was an online order as opposed to sitting down at marathon. The online options could stand to use some variety in terms of flexibility with add-ons/replacement. The breakfast menu as well as a few other areas are also weird. Omelette and salad or pancake and bacon specifically is wild to either not opt out of salad with replacement or atleast add an egg or two to the pancake and bacon option. The breakfast menu gives off, we don't like doing breakfast so we'll make it an inconvenient breakfast option. Onto the actual food now lol. The omelette is an omelette but kind of bland without being able to mix some things in, generous bacon portions throughout the omelette but lacks flavor. I see the vision with the mozzarella cheese but it gives off a weird taste as opposed to American or cheddar for an omelette, the cheese pull isn't fitting. I don't think I'd personally go out of my way to eat here again but I guess I'd try the pancake and bacon or a brunch/lunch item instead.

The food was decent. The mango margarita wasn't my favorite but it wasn't too bad, the pancakes were pretty thick so if that's your thing this is the place to go. I do prefer them a bit more light and fluffy but they were still decent. The avocado toast was probably the best part of the meal because it was mixed with pico de gallo. Overall decent reliable place to eat. The server was really nice and it wasn't too packed for a Sunday morning either.

Good food with nice service and ample seating. The buffalo chicken sandwich and Caesar salad was lacking in salt/flavor; the chicken was very crispy though. The pierogis were good, and I liked the sauce that it came with- it was creamy and lemony/tangy. The flatbread was fine but also lacked salt/flavor for me.

I've never actually dined in here so this review is based solely on their takeout and delivery game, which is top notch! They have a great crowd pleasing menu that ranges from soups and smoothies to chicken parm and all day breakfast options. One of those great spots when you're not totally sure what you're in the mood for...you can basically let their menu kind of decide for you. I've tried their tuna / chicken salad wraps and also their Moroccan salmon salad, all of which have been excellent. Wraps come with a tasty caesar salad and are an absolute go-to. The team members I've encountered here have always been incredibly friendly. If I lived a bit closer to either location I would be here all the time, but for now I really enjoy grabbing lunch or dinner while in the neighborhood, and would absolutely recommend a stop in to anyone.

Delicious food, extremely efficient, friendly wait staff and kitchen service all rolled in a casual downtown atmosphere within walking distance of all major hotels. We started with calamari and pierogis for the group, both were phenomenal! Of course I couldn't go without a cheesesteak and Marathon slayed it. It's heavily debated on who has "the best" in the city but I guarantee Marathon is one of the best. Thank you all for a spectacular experience!

Came here for lunch. Service was good. I ordered the vegetable egg wrap which was good and came with a side salad. My husband ordered the salmon burger which he said was good but fishy. The original Bloody Mary was a little spicy, horseradish forward.... very very good!!

I've walked by here many times, but yesterday was my first time actually going in. I visited with a fellow Yelp Elite and one of her co-workers for Happy Hour. We each opted to get one drink and no food. If you want to get the wind knocked out of you after one drink, this is your spot. The drinks were STRONG. I ordered the Market Street Muse and I could barely taste the limoncello. The vodka and basil were the most prominent flavors. I was feeling good. I'm rating this establishment four stars because the drinks on The Philadelphia Cocktail Trail were essentially existing drinks they had on their current menu but with different names. Same ingredients. I was hoping to see something new or related to America's 250th. Overall, though, the space was very calm and clean and I enjoyed being there. All the menu items sounded great, too. I'll have to pop in here for a bite to eat next time.

We asked for the toppings on the side because, you know, kids, but WOW. The vodka sauce was delicious, and the pickled tomato concoction that came with them? I could've bathed in it. The calamari was perfectly crisp and came with the unexpected bonus of onion rings, which were ever-so-lightly battered and perfectly crunchy. And once again, the sauces were superb. The boys shared a cheese pizza, half pepperoni, and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the burger, and yes, I stole a bite--and yes, to no one's surprise, it was amazing. We also ordered the charred broccoli after seeing everyone rave about it online. They were NOT wrong. Creamy, smoky, charred perfection. And finally... drumroll please... the 10 oz. smoked Duroc pork chop! OH. EM. GEEE. Perfectly charred on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, sitting in the most delicious smoky morita-apricot glaze and topped with a bright cucumber-melon salad with mint and blue basil. The contrast was perfection! The rich, smoky pork, the sweet and slightly spicy glaze, and that cool, fresh salad on top. Every bite had the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Easily one of the best pork chops I've ever had. As wonderful as the food was, the service somehow made the experience even better. From the minute we arrived, we were treated like family coming home for the holidays. Warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. What an absolute joy of a restaurant. The lobster ravioli was 50/50 for me personally, while the lobster was cooked well and the sauce flavorful, the only lobster was what was topped on the ravioli and not actually stuffed in with the cheese like I was expecting. It was still good, just not as "lobster ravioli" as Im used to. The pizza is a very thin crust but they did a wonderful job of not burning the crust despite this. There was a lao a really nice distribution of pepperoni throughout the pizza and it never really gave that "greasy" feeling that can happen.

The Love is better. The space is beautiful, the service is consistently warm, and Stephen Starr's fingerprints are all over it. I love the painted white brick, the floral artwork along the walls, the street-level energy, and the outdoor seating. I also remember taking the elevator upstairs once. I can't remember whether we actually stayed and ate up there or asked to move back downstairs, but the space was charming and extremely private. It would be a great setting for a group dinner or event. Personally, I prefer downstairs. It's darker, livelier, and I like being at street level. The menu historically leaned more heavily into elevated Southern comfort food, which has never been my favorite style of cooking. That's probably why I've tended to prefer The Love for lunch over dinner, especially when Philadelphia has so many Starr restaurants competing for the same night out. I used to get what I remember as a salmon and farro bowl, although the menu appears to have evolved since then. Whatever the exact iteration was, I loved it. Fish and farro are both right in my wheelhouse. I've also enjoyed the kale salad and other lighter dishes. The thing I remember most vividly, though, is the cornbread. It is outrageously good and reason enough to order something for the table. I also give Starr credit for continuing to broaden the range of food styles in his portfolio. Once you've built restaurants across Italian, French, Mexican, English, steakhouses, seafood, and the rest, there are only so many obvious boxes left to check. The Love feels like its own lane: distinctly American, approachable, comfort-driven, and still polished enough to feel like a Starr restaurant. Looking at the menu now, it seems broader than I remember, with more options that appeal to me, and I'd be psyched to go back. The Love probably isn't the first Starr restaurant I'd choose purely based on cuisine, but that says more about the depth of his Philadelphia portfolio than it does about this restaurant. The room, hospitality, location, and execution are all excellent. I'd happily come here any day. Starr doesn't miss.

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I've had. We had a 7 PM reservation and arrived at 7:15 PM. I acknowledge that we were late and apologized to the host. However, we arrived within the stated grace period. When we checked in, the hostess explained that because we arrived later within the grace period, our 90-minute seating window would still end based on the original reservation time. We acknowledged that and had absolutely no issue with it. What made the experience uncomfortable was how aggressively we were reminded about the time throughout the entire meal. We were reminded at least 5-6 separate times how much time we had left. Comments like "just so you know you have 25 minutes left" and "our next party is coming in 5-10 minutes" made it feel like staff was actively trying to rush us out before our reservation time had even ended. Mind you, we already understood the policy. One reminder would have been enough. Instead, it completely changed the energy of the evening and made us feel unwelcome and pressured to leave. We had originally planned to stay through our reservation and then move to the bar for the live music afterward, but after being repeatedly rushed, we decided to leave entirely and spend the rest of the night elsewhere. The most disappointing part was the interaction with the manager, Eric. Rather than listening or showing any understanding, he immediately became defensive and aggressive. He repeatedly insisted we were "15-20 minutes late," which was simply not true -- we arrived during the stated grace period. The issue was never the policy itself. It was the way we were treated throughout the night. It's unfortunate because this has genuinely been one of my favorite spots in Philly, and I've recommended it to multiple people. But this experience left a really bad impression, especially when bringing guests from out of town.

As of 05/2025, they supposedly offer 10% off your order by showing your SEPTA card. But, I'd confirm this offer before ordering to ensure it's honored. When I was there in the early morning, the cook (who also takes orders) didn't recognize the deal and didn't know how to punch it in. So, it was a bit of a letdown we couldn't redeem the deal, but we still wanted to try the sandwiches after hearing great things about them. I ordered The Hatch and Coop Sandwich (egg, cheese, chicken) on a round roll at the kiosk. You can customize your bread, egg (fried or scrambled), and cheese (provolone, american, or cheddar). The sandwiches come without any sauce unless you order sauce (extra $$) on the side. I highly recommend the Hatch Sauce- a typical mayo sauce with a little spice. I found The Hatch and Coop Sandwich to be just pretty good but I wish it had more heft to it. The chicken was juicy and well cooked, but I wish there was more. The cheese did the cheesing and coated the chicken, but the sandwich had far too many onions for my liking. With the Hatch Sauce, I felt the sandwich was tied together but it was a little odd to me the sandwich doesn't have sauce on its own. I'm giving Hatch and Coop the benefit of the doubt since it was so early in the morning, but I found my sandwich to be just OK. However, I will be back to try the fried chicken sandwiches, which I've heard rave reviews for.
