What a wonderful find!!! Cafe Sol has quite a selection of incredibly tasty salads and paninis (along with other offers, but that's what we got). Great location, friendly stuff, being able to sit outside on a beautiful warm Saturday morning. Healthy fresh food (and super tasty) in a restaurant is not always easy to come by, and this little Cafe is doing it just right. Planning to stop here (and Kiln coffee) every time we pass through Grand Junction from now on read more

I did like the breakfast burritos. Have not tried anything else. But what I have tried was good

Great place! So flavorful and healthy! Had turkey panini gluten free, roasted pepper soup and HUGE salad!

we checked into the hotel and asked where we should go for lunch they suggested this restaurant which I'm happy to report we were very happy with we had a tuna Panni which was excellent we had a Portabella mushroom Panini also Heirloom salad with Feta cheese everything was very good it was very crowded unfortunately and it took over an hour for us to get served that's why I didn't give it five stars read more

Cafe sol amazing smoothies great style the highlight for me was the napkins! It seams like a weird highlight but they were reusable and were reused my one complaint which isn't the business's fault was a bad apple read more

Food was spot on. Wife and I had the Hot Pastrami panini. Paired with Greek quinoa salad it was very tasty. Bit expensive at $13 but tasty nonetheless. Great location but parking is limited. People are very friendly and service was great. read more

My husband and I are loving this place! Today it seems rare to receive "real food," and Cafe Sol provides exactly that; "real food," of real quality Not only is lunch fresh, healthy, and delicious, but breakfast is a hidden gem within itself. And, drum roll please..... downtown Grand Junction is a beautiful place to visit. Staff at Cafe Sol is nice & professional. read more

It was okay, but not great. Both of us had a hard time finding something on the menu, no fountain drinks just water and tea. Salads were okay but not the best and not worth the price we paid. read more

Grand Junction has been the halfway point between Denver and Salt Lake City on two of our road trips now. We don't do much in this city besides gas up and get some food to gear us up for another 7ish hours behind the wheel. While we were dismayed that the place we stopped at on our last trip had been closed, we were so excited to find Cafe Sol. We ate outside during our visit here because we had our little beagle with us and the temperature was 95+. They said that she couldn't be with us in the fenced in patio area but she could sit on the other side near us. She is a really easy dog to take almost anywhere so she did great but some other dogs that are a little more ADHD might not. The service was fast, the restaurant clean and open, and the price was right. The food was in a league of its own. My husband got their Blue Ham sammich and it was a little small but it had huge flavor. The ham and bacon had a great combined deep flavor without being too salty. The apples added great texture and a little sweetness. The blue cheese was just the right amount of tangy. I ordered the Chef's Salad and my guy got a side salad with his sammich. My salad was packed full in a giant bowl of crisp greens, good-quality meats, croutons, provolone cheese and a hard-boiled egg. Everything was dressed in a sherry Dijon vinaigrette. It was just a full-bodied salad that didn't make me feel sluggish or super full. It was just what we needed in the way of lunch. Mike really liked his beet side salad. It was very large for a side salad and everything went together perfectly in that salad according to him. He loved the way the beets were prepared, the crunchy sunflower seeds and the thinly sliced prosciutto. I hope we can stop here again if we are passing through. They know their salads! read more

I never thought I'd find a place in GJ with a vegan labeled product right on the menu board in front of my unsuspecting then insanely surprised face. Not to mention that item being vegan gumbo. The gumbo was super tasty and dang spicy (as it should be). We also really enjoyed the chips and guac and the salad my pal ordered was massive and looked terribly fresh and delicious. Tons of great salad, sandwich, and drink options and it's so relieving to see a place that offers healthy and delicious foods. So many props for having vegan items! read more

I recommend this place strongly. Great service, nice people and fun decor. The polenta green chili fries with goat cheese are one of the best items on the menu. Stop in and enjoy one of the many paninis, the portabella mushroom is a hit along with the black bean. read more

I was really taken with this restaurant. It hit all my buttons - in a great way. First, they source produce locally - and from my favorite places: Blaine's Tomatoes, Field to Fork, Okagawa Farms, and The Produce Peddler! That alone makes me happy. Their basic menu of soups, salads and paninis is great and covers vegan/vegetarian through meat eaters. I think you could take almost anyone there and they would find something that they would like. But, on top of that, they offer daily specials. When we were there, they had a red pepper bisque, a gazpacho and a turnip/rosemary soup. Who makes a turnip soup??? Of course, I had to try it. And, it was wonderful. It came out a somewhat unappetizing shade of green (gray green). But - I spent the whole bowl trying to analyze the flavor. It tasted like something I had eaten before but I couldn't really ever figure it out. Not that it mattered. It was probably the best bowl of soup I have eaten in a long time. And I am a soup eater! We actually started with the crispy chick pea appetizer. Got a nice sized bowl of lightly fried and salted chick peas. Served with several toothpicks for spearing them and transporting them to the two dipping sauces (the house dressing and a feta dressing). Even with two of us - that app kept us busy, amused and happy while we waited for our meal. I got the veganini panini (with Blaine's tomatoes - I cannot overstate how delicious those tomatoes are!). Loved the sandwich with the roughly mashed hummus and some really excellent greens (kale?). My husband had the Mount Garfield salad. They asked if he wanted large or small - we pointed to one that looked pretty massive that they were putting together in the kitchen and said "that size" -- oddly, it was the small. You get a lot for your money here! It is the little things that really make me love this place. Food is excellent and whimsical (they put together unexpected combinations that really work!). You can buy wine, beer, soda, juice. Or you can help yourself to their water. Plain water, lemon water, cucumber lime water in nice big glass containers. The place is very attractively styled. The counter help is knowlegable and helpful. There is someone delivering food to tables, bussing tables, keeping the water carafes filled - you never feel rushed, but the place is always in good order. I love that they are a green and sustainable restaurant. I feel good about eating there and I feel good about what I eat there. This will be an on-going favorite for me. read more

Fabulous take on a soup, sandwich, salad joint. Immaculate and modern decor in an older building. Food was all freshly made, healthy and delicious. Appetizer - chips and guac. Wasn't expecting the freshly flash-fried chips. Mushroom-Truffle soup was earthy tasting and well-made. Prosciutto, Fig and Gorgonzola salad was great. Hubby had a "BLT-Plus" which was served on panini bread with a side of homemade beet salad. Loved that they had fresh herbs growing for kitchen use. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Lunch with tip $40. Little pricey, but worth the money. read more

I am from out of town and was staying in grand junction for a few days for work. I was looking for a healthier option for lunch and it seemed like grand junction didn't provide that much in terms of healthy. Eventually I came across Cafe Sol on Yelp and it seemed promising. I decided to check it out. It's in a good location on Main Street and the ambience is good inside the restaurant. The line wasn't too long so I was able to order relatively quickly. I got the soup and salad combo. The soup was the special, Thai carrot & Ginger soup, and then I ordered the Cafe Sol salad. The wait for the food was just a couple of minutes, and in the mean time I helped myself to some flavored water. They had lemon and strawberry kiwi. As for the soup and salad, both were delicious. The Thai carrot is vegan, and dairy free and had a really good flavor to it. The salad was great as well. It has beets, walnuts, the house dressing, and mixed greens. It was recommended to me by the registrar. Part of the reason though that I only give 4 stars instead of 5 is because I ordered some avocado on my salad and this cost $1.00. I expected a healthy chunk of avocado, but all they gave me was probably 1/8 of an avocado. Not a big complaint, but for a dollar, I think I should get at least 1/4, even 1/2 of one. Overall though, I was very satisfied with the meal and service. And if you are looking for a healthy option in grand junction, look no further than Cafe Sol. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch on our drive home to Utah. We ordered the soup/Cobb salad combo, chef salad, and roast beef sandwich. Salads were fresh, crunchy, and nicely dressed. The roast beef sandwich was the best I've had -- the creaminess of the blue cheese and horseradish aioli, the crunch of the jalapeños -- it all just works. The inside is spacious and clean. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing through Grand Junction. read more

Cute vibe but food is mediocre. Breakfast burrito was good, soup was bland. Lattes were mediocre and came out warm with all the ice melted (just go to kiln down the street after you eat) servers were strangely apologetic but also indifferent? Said sorry for mistakes instead of actually correcting them multiple times, if you know it's going to be wrong fix it? Meh. read more

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but you walk through the doors into a little oasis. We were very impressed with the menu, it is unique and contemporary with lots of healthy options. My husband ordered the chicken avocado panini with a side of quinoa salad and I ordered the falafel panini with the beet salad. We ordered at an off time and the place seemed very slow, but it still took longer than I think it should have. We ordered it to go, and with only two parties in front of us it took close to 30 minutes to get our food. We were both very happy with the size of the portions. My husband loved his meal. I did not care for my sandwich as much, it was less falafel more mushy spread with soggy veggies. However I loved my side beet salad, and I do think I would be back to try a different option. read more

This restaurant is a must. Delicious food from sandwiches, soups, dessert. Such a cool atmosphere and you will NOT be disappointed.

This cafe never disappoints. It's one of the few places I know I can go and be satisfied. And I'd like to note that their lattes even beat local coffee shop's in taste! read more

Stopped in today for the first time with my boyfriend and got the Cafe Sol salad, sweet potato soup, tuna melt panini, and a club panini (both combos). Everything is fresh and made to order. They serve infused water (the flavors are amazing). When our food came out, the portions were HUGE! We ate like kings for only ordering 1/2 a panini each with a side soup/salad. We also were able to enjoy the outdoor patio for it being December 29th. I would love to eat here again and try their breakfast menu. read more

We were so looking forward to breakfast this morning at, up to today, our favorite spot. I'm not sure what has happened but the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the restaurant has suddenly suffered. We tried a couple of tables after ordering and they were not clean. Finally, we just took one that was passable. We were there at 8:30am so things were quiet. When we got our order, we were really taken aback. Usually when we ordered the fruit as a side, the presentation was beautiful. Today, we got a few small apple slices, some orange slices and half a banana with the peel still on. It was just such a surprise. My husband ordered the French Toast and it was so burnt it was hardly edible. He said he still has a bad taste in his mouth. A few weeks ago ( we have been out of town) we had a delicious meal.... like all the meals since we started coming in early 2019! I don't think we will be back anytime soon. With the price of eating out going up, we have other places that are comparably priced with much better food and service. read more

Nice to find a fresh healthy lunch spot on our drive through Grand Junction. Salad, panini, soup, desert, and kid meal options. The banana bread (bought 1/3 loaf for $2.50) is SO delicious. Lots of indoor seating and a few outside too. Right on Main Street. read more

Great local spot for breakfast or lunch. There are times when getting a table is tuff.,.but worth the wait

The staff is very pleasant, and know the menu inside and out. And the menu has something for everyone. It's nice to know that the food is sourced locally -- you know that it is fresh and lovingly prepared. I eat here every time I'm in Grand Junction -- I just wish they had a spot on the other side of the range. My favorite sandwich is the Pink Pony, and all the salads are homemade and out of this world! read more

Half and half combo is a good deal, especially since they make everything in house. The half salad that comes with the combo option is a "small" size but actually is pretty big considering how much stuff goes into each salad. I wish they had a caesar type salad but couldn't find anything similar so had the beet salad which was really good though had I to do it over again I would request light on the dressing. Was a little heavy handed but not to the point of being inedible. Free water with lemon was a nice touch. Parking at the meter outside was 30 minutes for a quarter which seemed pretty reasonable to me. Clean bathroom and friendly service made it a great place to drop in for lunch while passing through town. read more

I have to give this a 2.5 because the pear and blue cheese salad was so delicious. But, the chicken and guacamole panini was honestly the most disgusting sandwich I have ever had. Today was the first day I have ever met a slice of bacon I did not like because it had a bitterness I've never tasted before. I'm pretty certain there was something wrong with it and my stomach agrees. Terrible way to finish my lunch read more

This place was not good. They served warm lemon water from the refrigerator and the panini was a gooey mess in-between two pieces of warm buttered bread. I love beets, and their beet salad was awful, I mean inedible. The service was okay, the kitchen was noisy and you had to yell at the timid young lady behind the counter. I'm sure that everyone is trying to do their best with COVID but I really do NOT recommend! read more
