We parked and walked over to the restaurant and saw it was crowded so thought it must be a good sign. -$50 for 3 paninis - No drink included in the $14 price for the sandwich Once we did receive our food and begun to eat, my whole party felt gross and I had mayonnaise dripping all over my hands. None of us finished the sandwich let alone half of one. Good food is supposed to make you feel good. This good food made us feel gross. For the price we paid we figured we deserved more than what we were given. Maybe we we're just given a bad batch or something of the sort. Ordered the turkey panini and beet salad as the side. The "beet salad" looked and smelled like a scoop of canned cat food--brownish grey minced mystery substance--with a weird, also undecipherable, sour taste, and I only took one tiny mouthful before deciding that it was neither desirable nor probably safe. Difficult to find close-by parking. Music is loud inside, but have outside dining options. Vegan options are limited. The only item available for kids is peanut butter and banana for $7. No flexibility in customizing a meal for kids was accepted. Customer service can improve, especially the blond waitress with the attitude. Food was okay. Toilets are clean. read more

This is a favorite establishment of mine and have had many lunch items and a few breakfast items. Typically get the quiche of the day but it was not yet prepared. I settled on the avocado toast (3) with the side salad (5). Salad is always fresh and very nice vinaigrette. Came with 3-4 pieces of beet, tomato and red onion. Bread was very tough, multigrain, needed a steak knife (which they didn't have) in order to cut pieces. Topped with an egg cooked to order. Definitely will not order again. Friend ordered the breakfast sandwich. Bread was a croissant that was also very tough, overheated (?). Overall, today was not their usual tasty, fresh, unique options. read more

Went and did a girls lunch with my mom and sisters. Wanted to come here for the salad and sandwich options. I got the turkey panini which was very good and massive. Definitely could have split it. None of us were obsessed with the dressing on the pear salad though. We came towards the end of the lunch rush but there were a couple of tables for us to chose from except only one was clean plus the others didn't get cleaned the whole time we were there. We came to the Cafe 10 minutes before closing and were told to go ahead and be seated - and would be served.  We were having a late lunch so we appreciated the great attitude.  All the staff was very positive and friendly.  My wife loved her hearty turkey panini sandwich and my large monument salad was flavorful and perfectly seasoned.  We both took out half of our meals.  We will be back when in town for superb meals and service. read more

They create a great combination of flavors with straightforward ingredients, and I never knew beets could taste so good. If hummus was a person it would work here and be full of mysterious flavors that you weren't sure about. Hard objects that you just chew past because you're too afraid to find out what it actually is. But this is the quality of persons and service in this dusty tired region of the world. I know they really wish they were a hip place in some cute city. But its just bad food and too many pickled things in the middle of a homeless infested turd hang called Grand Junction. Let's start with positives, the staff is friendly and the food is great, the wait for the food was also fine, now the one major negative is the food although it was good was a bit pricey for what it was I mean I ordered 2 French toasts a coffee and a burrito and it was over 60$ (group brunch). Delicious Unique Large Salads--figs! The add in chicken was small portion but taste good. Superb atmosphere. Nice street to take a walk after you eat. Kind of pricey. Friendly service, but slowww food delivery at lunch time. Free tasty waters. Smoothy was OK, not sure that I would get it again. Parking on the street in front is a Pain in the A, but free. Incredibly disappointing experience at Café Sol. My friend and I ordered two salads, the Café Sol salad, and the Strawberry salad. When I got the strawberry salad the first thing I noticed was raw jalapeño slices on top of the salad and all of the arugula was wilted and yellow. I returned the salad to the front and requested to get the beet salad instead. They brought it out, and again incredibly disappointed. The spring greens were all wilted and slimy. The beets were obviously from a can/jar and looked like they're seen better days. They had a grey hue and smelled a bit spoiled. We left disgusted and hoped to not get sick from the experience. For a cafe that has 40% of its menu dedicated to salads you'd think they're take more pride in what they serve. Absolutely would not recommend and will never come here again. read more

One of my favs. Always good chicken guacamole panini is very good. Paired with a salad it is a perfect lunch for my hubby and me.

I will first say that the food was great! Tasted awesome. I would have given 4 stars... but our to go order was missing 2 sides of chips and our impossible burger had cheese on it when we ordered without cheese. A pretty big inconvenience when you're vegan. The black bean burger was awesome, had great flavor. The quinoa tabouleh was very good also! Will go back-- but will definitely check our orders next time. read more

The food might have been okay if it wasn't cold, but I can't say... because it was. I ordered on their website for pickup (paid online) arrived a couple of minutes before my pickup time but noticed my order on a side counter. I asked 2 employees if I had to wait in line to get my order and they both said yes. This is already silly. If I wanted to wait in the always long, slow line, why bother ordering online? After waiting for 10 minutes, a woman comes in, stops one of the same employees, and asks if she has to wait in line to get her carryout order. The same employee opened the second register to get the woman her order and take her payment, seemingly not recognizing its inconsiderate to do so with me still waiting in line. I ate here weekly for most of 2019 - the line has always been slow but the customer service used to be sooooo friendly. Now the food and customer service have suffered. I get inflation and having to cut corners, but it costs nothing to be decent to people. I don't think I'll be back. read more

This place has bomb food and is definitely worth a stop if you are looking for veg and/or healthy options. They have coffee, smoothies, alcoholic (beer and wine) and non-alcoholic beverages. First time eating here. Ordered combo of half-Rueben Panini w Sol Salad and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. Also had one drink: Cabucha. Came to $30.00 the combo was $15, don't know prices of the cup of soup or cabucha, but the total was $30 so somewhere around $15.00 for a cup of soup and a drink. Didn't get offered a receipt? Busy, pleasant atmosphere. Soup and salad were great, wouldn't order the Rueben again. We will go back to try other items, and will ask for a receipt. read more

My husband and I took a mini-vacation from Las Vegas to Grand Junction, CO recently. We at at Cafe Sol nearly everyday while we were in town. This little cafe is located in what I would call their "old town" or historic area downtown. I was very surprised to find out there were NOT a lot of places to eat in this part of town. There was a bagel & coffee cafe and they were closed on Sunday's. There's also a place where you can buy sandwiches "to go" and eat them at a table on the street and then a very high end steakhouse. So, Cafe Sol was a blessing. The place is very simple. You order at the counter and sit down, and someone will bring your food to you. We came here mostly for lunch and one time for breakfast. The prices are pretty much what you would expect in a "coffee house" type of eatery. One day I ordered the quiche special which came with a salad, ordered the lamb chili for my husband plus a side salad. I also ordered a large latte for me and small tumeric latte for my husband. Plus, a Snickerdoodle cookie to share. The total came to just under $38. The price was more than McDonald's, but it was hardly "outrageous." The salads tasted delicious. The greens were very fresh; nothing was wilted or brown. The salad dressing was a savory balsamic. There was no sweetness, which was great. Many vinaigrettes taste like they have sugar added, this version was yummy and NOT sweet. The quiche was light and fluffy. Hubby's lamb chili was served in a decent sized bowl for the "small" portion and his side salad was the same as mine. He LOVED the tumeric latte...This is why we went everyday while in town. The coffee was very smooth and the tumeric latte had agave and I'm pretty sure cinnamon. It had a very unique flavor. I have no complaints about this establishment and it was a welcomed change of pace from chain places like Denny's or other well know coffee houses. read more

This is my happy place! Salads are HUGE, filled with fresh greens and all kinds of goodness. I ordered the Cafe Sol with apples and banana bread croutons (genius!). B ordered one with kale, quinoa, and the perfectly ripe/amazingly sweet peaches. These prices make this place a killer deal- no wonder the place was busy on a Sunday afternoon. This is no wimpy club sandwich. They pile on thick-cut turkey breast, mayo, crispy bacon and mound of melted provolone onto a sub sandwich, then panini press it to perfection. The sandwich is heavy handed, and it fills you up like you just ate a cinder block... a delicious cinder block. Once consumed, I was fueled up and free to go on about my manly day, which included axe wielding, flannel wearing, mountain climbing and creating boards for "Cute Boots" on my Pinterest page.
